Nice clean hotel in a good location, perfect for Fisherman’s Wharf and sight seeing round San Francisco. Definitely recommend a room facing the internal courtyard as the main roads outside were busy and as it is only 4 floors would have been a tad noisy during the night. We spoke with someone earlier in the week when I asked about a late checkout as our our flight times were changed due to the current situation. We were told this would not be an issue until it came to the morning of our departure. Initially I was offered a complimentary hour up to 1:00pm but said having already asked for a 4.00pm checkout I was then asked to pay $69.99 (for 3 hours!) Obviously during this period of uncertainty I understand hotel policies but would not have paid that amount under any circumstances. When asked if this was negotiable or if we could discuss it further the gentleman behind the desk abruptly said he was not going to argue and just extend our stay. We very much appreciated the extra few hours and the extremely cheery and helpful lady who eventually checked us out but not the manner in which it was dealt with earlier on in the day!! Also note that there is a $35 per day tax (on top of ALL the other taxes you get charged) for which you can save $5 per day by not having your room cleaned.

Went just before pandemic broke down and the city shut down! The hotel was nothing special but the location was excellent! Don't know why hotels are charging resort fees when they offer nothing more, claiming it is the free wifi, use of amenities, etc. I would think that was included in the room fee. The only reason why I give this a 4* is purely because of the location. With a parking fee of $60 (they told as at check in they did reduce it to about $42 or so) a day we decided not to rent a car. We took uber from airport which cost about $36. Fisherman's wharf is just minutes away and not sure if it was not too busy because we were on the cusp of the Covid19. So we were able to walk to restaurants and pick up ferry to Alcatraz tour and city tour. We probably could have easily taken public transit too if we wanted. The Dollar car rental right next door at Sheraton was extremely a good find. We rented a car for the day whenever we needed for about $25. We returned the car after hours so did not have to pay for parking. Safeway is also next door for grocery shopping. There is also a Ross which I was going to go find some warmer clothes as we didn't seem to bring enough but ended up not going. So on location alone it gets my 4* rating. Room was clean, staff were pleasant. Don't forget to stop in at the conierge desk because she has a drawer full of discount coupons for nearby restaurants as well as $10 arcade play passes for kids.

I was very surprised at how friendly the staff was. They went above and beyond to make you happy. This is an older hotel with that said the boilers that keep the place warm can get a little hot. Just give them a call to have them turn it down if you are in the beginning of the run. Each room does have a heater so you can turn it up or down. There is no AC as it is an older hotel. The rooms were very nice the beds were comfortable. They do have hot water in the rooms with Tea and Hot chocolate but have coffee all day in the lobby. The hotel can have a lot of outside noice because of the location. it is very secure and safe. If you want a great view and can tolerate some noice stay in the 301-309 if you want no noice stay in the 311-318

I chose this hotel amongst the hotels near Fisherman's wharf for a quick 3 night stay. Reviews were all consistently good and they were spot on. I felt safe with all the Covid protocols in place. The room was very serene and modern. The hotel is ideally situated if you want to be near the water. I visited Fisherman's wharf which was not too crowded given Covid. I walked all the way to Presidio to get great views of the Golden Gate bridge. It was a lovely hike in good fall weather and I was blessed by sunny blue nearly cloudless skies. Breakfast is available and must be ordered the night before at the least. It was delicious. But lots of options nearby for patio dining or could order online. The hotel is near a Safeway, Trader Joe and a CVS. Most of all, shout out to Luz at the front desk who was very accommodating to my needs, friendly and is an asset and good representative of Hyatt brand. This stay makes me want to return to this hotel on my future visits to San Francisco.

Read the reviews and was a little apprehensive, but all for naught. Great little hotel, spacious room (we are here for two more days) with only one wall dressed in industrial chic. Deliberately asked for a room without a view because in my experience that view comes with noise. Our room has no view to speak of (#356) but also gets no outside noise. All the usual stuff provided in the room (small fridge etc.) no restaurant or real breakfast served here (remember it's a MVC and not a full fledged Marriott , but there is a full fledged Marriott right across the street). Downstairs in the lobby they provide Starbucks coffee and some small pastries for breakfast but there are ample full breakfast places within a block (I eat at Pat's Cafe as I need a good breakfast but don't eat lunch). There are a large number of choices for a full dinner in all directions and they cover all economic ranges, but this is San Francisco so nothing will be very cheap. Dinner on Pier 39 at Fog Harbor Fish House for two with 4 drinks was a little over $100 but was delicious and the hotel gives you a discount card that covers a lot of eating places and such and takes 15% off most food items. The neighborhood is a good one, nothing sketchy at all and San Francisco blocks are considerably smaller than New York blocks so the 3 blocks to Fisherman's Wharf takes a lot less time than it would in NYC. Yes the car is stored for $58 a night but that is not as expensive as it might seem compared to other hotels right next door. There are public parking buildings in the area, but I( have no idea what they will run you. Snacks available after 3 in the lobby..all manner of chocolate chip cookies and small candy bars and we've had Ghiradelli hot chocolate each night about 7. Weather gets cool at night (we are only 3 blocks from the ocean after all) but has been in the 60s the two days we have been here. I can't tell you about cost since we there on points, but it's great for us.

Considering this is on a busy street, the noise level in the room was quite low, and we were right next to the bus stop, which is handy to get straight to Market St. Location is walking distance to Fishermans Wharf, and Chinatown. Lombard st is only a short, albeit uphill walk away. The room was a good size, with 2 queen beds in the main area, and a separate large room with a queen bed. We were at the end of the hall, so we didn't hear other guests at all. It's also away from the lift and ice machine. Beds were comfortable and bathroom was fine. There is a bar down the road, cafes and laundrette all in a short distance. Free parking (first come first served) is fantastic. Staff were pleasant to deal with. Would definitely stay again.

Booked this place through one of those sites that doesn’t tell you what you’re getting before you book. Have had good luck in the past but that ran out with this stay. When I saw what hotel/motel it was, I kind of mentally shrugged and said well- I only need a clean place to sleep for the night. Doesn’t have to be fancy. Yeah. It DEFINITELY wasn’t fancy lol. The location is the only selling point here, and honestly, there’s other hotels closer in the same price range if that’s your deal. Or, there’s a fancy hotel (not naming names) right across the street- do yourself a favor and GO THERE. It’s within walking distance of fisherman’s wharf, sure. Right on the corner of two busy streets and yes you can hear the traffic crystal clearly in your room. Starting off well, right? Issues/clarifications: This is a motel. Not a hotel. Three stories, no elevators. They charge $25 and tax to park in their lot just for the record. The ice machine is in the parking lot. Room was a standard king, was dingy and yuck. There were fruit flies in the sink and unidentified stains on the walls. Some of the drawers in the dresser were broken. AC worked fine, didn’t test the tv since we watched on the iPad. Room’s windows looked straight into the windows of the building next door. We could have passed a cup of sugar across if we had both opened our windows. So, no opening those blinds. The floors were squeaky. I know this seems like a weird thing to complain about but hear me out- they were so squeaky that every time the person above us took a step, we heard it. And when they decided to vacuum at MIDNIGHT in the room above us (the...what?) we heard that too. And when they were walking around at 4am on those squeaky squeaky floors... yep! We were up. Y’all, I have three kids, two cats, a dog and a spouse who snores louder than a marching band. I am a GOOD sleeper. But not that night. The bed was also hard but that’s down to personal preference I suppose (but no. Like, HARD.) The guy who checked us in was nice but very strict. We were reminded several times that we HAD to be out by 11am, no exceptions, otherwise we would be charged another night. We were planning on being out by 8 to go get breakfast anyways, but being reminded multiple times in a very stern manner was slightly off putting. It was just NOT a super fuzzy, warm or welcoming place, nor was it particularly clean or updated. I would definitely NOT stay here again.

We have a reservation for March 26th and I have been trying to get a hold of this hotel for the past 2 weeks. I was concerned about the coronavirus outbreak as we are traveling with my elderly parents for their anniversary. The manager was just plain rude and without compassion. I was on the phone initially for 20 minutes. They said they could not cancel our reservation since it was through an outside party. So I called Hotwire, who said they would honor a cancellation if Maya (the manager) would also approve on it from her side. I was put on hold for 40 minutes to be told that Maya would not agree to this. I then called and requested a nice room since we would be stuck there for 3 days with my parents and a baby for their anniversary. Her response, “honestly, all our rooms are the same.” I was told that she would ask Allen, the room director to call us the next day. She of course never messaged him. I called him the next day to see if he would honor a cancellation. It has been 3 days, I haven’t heard from anyone. I called again today, and she purposely dodged my call. Is this the way you treat your loyal Marriott customers? Disappointed!

I often try and review places where i have been as I use TA entensively when booking trips away. This is the first time I have written a review however where I havent actually stayed at the hotel. We we due to start a 3 week holiday on 1st July 2020, trip of a liftime to California and Hawaii, but under the current cicumstances we are unable to travel and have had to cancel all of our bookings. We booked everything independently include the Hotel Caza, we booked through on a non-refund basis. Not holding out much hope I contacted and explained the situation to which they told me they would investigate. I heard nothing and despite chasing still nothing. I then tried to contact the hotel directly via the contacvt on their web site, again with no joy. It wasnt until I read a review on TA that I saw an email address that someone had had some success with so I gave it a go. I immediately got a response stating my money would be fully refunded, they saw customer service longer term as more important. I can now confirm I have received the refund in full and wanted to make a point of saying what fantatsic customer service. The person I dealt with was called Isabele Matter who is the General Manager - thank you, I appreciate your help and how you put the customer first. I really hope we can travel in 2021 and I will definitely be booking the Hotel Caza once again. Good luck in these testing times and thanks again....

It's very close to Fisherman's Wharf, and it's just a turn around. It's still lively there. Looking at the Golden Gate Bridge, go to 39pier to see the seals walk past. It's a little far from downtown. Uber special car is about 10 knives. There is still a difference between the hotel and the domestic market. Courtyard Puxi is much better than this hardware. Of course, it basically has everything. There is no hot water bottle. The air conditioner is of the rear-mounted type. The effect is no problem. What kind of old building was transformed in the past, and the surrounding environment is ok, close to the Fisherman's Wharf scenic area and residential areas, there is no problem in safety, I ca n’t sleep in the morning, smoke downstairs, and I ’m very kind to ask for a smoker & # 128578 ;, You can walk to some local supermarkets nearby, trade's Joes, etc. are still very close. In short, Meidi's hotels are too expensive

We were forced to travel home during the pandemic and wanted to do so in style. While calling around different hotels for a “viral deal”...I knew the Argonaut was the place. Not because of the great price but because of the front desk staff that answered. She was amazingly personable and caring. Upon our arrival my wife and I were treated extremely well. Extremely professional staff but with a very added personal touch. We felt like we were all in this together...a sort of compassion towards us as fellow humans. I don’t think our experience is just because of the pandemic. The personality of the staff is a reflection of management...and I have to say “hats off to you all”! If we ever find ourselves back in San Fransisco...we know there is only one place we will ever stay...the Argonaut!

The rooms are small but very clean. Important to know that for some rooms, you bathroom is in another room (you have to go in the hall and open another door). Breakfast is included and is very good. There is also a daily wine and cheese that is offered at 17:30. The staff is very friendly but unfortunately, there is rarely someone at the reception (thus checking in can be problematic). Also note that there is no parking offered by the hotel.

The front desk staff (Ben & Daimler) greeted me with HUGE smiles after a long flight. They offered me a much needed quiet room and even upgraded me to a beautiful suite. Complimentary wine tasting was going on in the lobby with live music. My room was beautiful and very clean. After unpacking, I realized I forgot toothpaste. I went downstairs on my way to dinner and asked the front desk if they had any extras, they brought it to my room along with an extra toothbrush while I was gone (amazing!). Great location. Walkable to so many restaurants. Will definitely stay again.

From Seattle to Vancouver by car, I chose the Hilton Hotel at the first stop. I thought it was good in China, but I did n’t expect it to be a nightmare. Two large bed rooms were booked at Ctrip, but the front desk gave me an ultra-small room, and beside the elevator, this check-in felt like being next to the runway of an airplane, and I couldn't sleep at all. Negotiating with the hotel was useless. Negotiating with Ctrip. The hotel responded that the room was full and there was no way to change the room. I wonder if the hotel ca n’t sleep in this room?

We made our yearly trek to the Nikko in mid October. Obviously with the pandemic, things were markedly different. Our first clue was landing at Oakland Airport, when we got off the plane it was like a ghost town. BART was less crowded, but there is a bit more riff/raff on the train than normal. When we arrived at the hotel, we entered through the garage, as the front entry was boarded up. Check in was easy as always and we had a wonderful room. They were very much in "Covid prevention" mode with only 2 people (unless same group) in the elevator, everyone was masked up. Rooms were impeccably clean and you let them know when you wanted housekeeping, and you had to be out of the room for them to take care of that. There were very few guests in the hotel and I think we had the whole floor to ourselves. The Imperial Club lounge is closed temporarily, and you could use the workout room for a nominal fee. The restaurant was closed Sun/Mon/Tues and open for dinner the other nights. It was very surreal to be in the restaurant with so few guests, but the food was outstanding as well as the service. Dominique was awesome. They do have a food truck and we were able to sample one of the items and it was also great. We look forward to our visit next year and hopefully the world will be back to a more normal state.

The male staff in the evening shift is very friendly, very patient, always smiling, and the service is very good! It rained outside and I also borrowed an umbrella for me. The room was great, my room was on the top floor, there was a balcony in the room and the bed was very comfortable! The location is very good, just in the city center, to various attractions, shopping and shopping, the surrounding restaurants are very convenient, it should be the best hotel I have ever stayed on this trip! If you have the chance to go to Berlin again, you have to choose this hotel!

Extended Weekend visit to the city for pleasure. Mini vacay. 2/10/2020 Breakfast at the Cafe. - Morning shift Cafe hostess/cashier was very competent with a little bit of attitude. Attitude changed when it was tip time. :-) - Food was great 2/10/2020 Evening at the Cafe - Hostess / Cashier was super helpful and pleasant. - Needed to heat up some leftover pizza and she was happy to accommodate by heating up in the toaster over. Waaay better than microwaved. Rooms were very nice. - We were assigned an ADA room - Minimal counter space in the bathroom as a result. All good. - Bed was a bit on the hard side. Sore back after a couple of night. - Room doors slam shut. Would be nice to have anti-slam devices installed. We lived through it. Added a towel to the door when closing and minimized door rattle when neighbor doors were shut and softened the slam when we closed our own door. Overall: Excellent stay with super helpful and cheerful staff. Thank you!
