I had a delightful time at this hotel. The location was fantastic. The staff were friendly, helpful, and professional. The room is a bit tight to maneuver due to the size of the full bed, but for a solo traveler it was not an issue. One thing I disliked was that the shower/tub does not really have a barrier, so you must be careful when you shower to not end up with water on the floor. I plan to stay here again on future visits.

I booked a room at the Elch when I planned a weekend visit to the Christkindlsmarkt in Nuremberg, based on other positive reviews and the great location close to the market. I was so pleasantly surprised! The hotel was a lovely combination of old & new, with modern finishes yet lots of charm. The staff was friendly and very helpful in recommending a convenient spot to have dinner one night. My single room was cozy and well-appointed. The breakfast buffet is generous, and reasonably priced even if it's not included with your room rate. Lots of delicious local pastries as well :) I had two small negatives: 1. One morning when I showered there was no hot water (not sure if this is a common issue?) 2. I was unfamiliar with the climate controls in my room, so the first night I just bundled under extra blankets until I realized there was a radiator which was controlled by a small dial next to the bed. A small instruction card would have been appreciated to explain this. Also just to note, there is no staff in the hotel between midnight and 7:00am. There is a night entrance for guests to be able to come & go, but no one will be at the desk between those hours. Overall, I was really happy with my choice to stay here and I would definitely stay again!

We stayed here from 29.12.21 to 01.01.22. The hotel has a very youthful vibe with some thoughtful touches like fair priced minibar with free coffee, still and sparkling water bottles (refreshed daily); battery pack in the room (with mini usb charging cable), full set of nice smelling toiletries (except toothpaste and face wash); a full sized sofa with its own blanket that you can actually sleep on. We also liked the location of the hotel - right around the Hauptmarket and walking distance from Nurembergs main attractions. You could just hop over to multiple restaurants, bars and shops from the hotel. We availed of breakfast at the Five Diner which is connected to the hotel and whose staff man the reception. The breakfast is a la carte with a limited selection. The food is good but service can be a bit slow and sloppy (our orders were mixed up a couple of times). The room is fairly well sized and designed but the bed (smaller than queen) was a bit small. The bathroom’s shower cubicle is a bit small too. One area of improvement would be a dedicated staff on the reception for checking the hotel facilities and guest feedback - the lights on the first floor room corridor were not working for a couple of nights and it would be nice to pass on immediate feedback to someone at reception rather than ringing the bell and waiting for someone to come from the diner. Also, while our room was relatively insulated from the outside noise (except the church bells) - noise from the guests upstairs was disturbing. The walls between the rooms are a bit thin, I guess. Also, the Wi-Fi signal is really weak and slow in the room. Probably because it is the same open Wi-Fi as the diner. I think hotel guests should get a dedicated Wi-Fi. Overall a great stay though considering the price (100 euro per night)

One of the problems with trade show business trips is that the place you spend the least amount of time, is the hotel. That makes an expensive or luxury hotel hard for me to justify and I tend to use Accor hotels for this reason. In Nuernburg, I have previously stayed at the Ibis Aldstadt and this time I chose Ibis Nuernberg Hauptbahnhof. The location is actually great for using the station and although there’s a bit more walking to the Aldstadt and restaurants, that’s not a bad thing when you have a full tummy. The hotel is directly across the northern square from the Hauptbahnhof and just outside the town wall. Reception is 24hrs and usual check-in and check-out times apply. There is a secure luggage room available if you’re not actually within those times. Check-in is pretty normal and room access is via key card. There is parking available through the hotel and it’s nearby. At booking on line, I asked for a quiet room if possible and the staff delivered. Placing me on the 3rd floor and mid-way down the corridor, the room was quiet with few people on the floor or lots of very quiet people! The room fit out is a little dated and the light switch functions took me a bit to work out, but it was as expected with TV, small desk at the window, wall bench and closet. No iron or ironing board in the room. They are down at reception and you have to take your ironing there and do it! Not too bad an experience. There are no laundry facilities in the hotel but they have an off-site laundry service for what I though was a considerable fee. If you have time, take a walk to one of the few laundromats south of the station. The bathroom was quite small for with shower, basin and toilet. A timed blower heater is on the wall but is limited in effect. The whole hotel was heated nicely anyway and you can adjust temps in your room. My room look out onto an atrium between buildings. The opposite building is an office and gym so close the curtains when getting changed. Staff were helpful and friendly. Now, during the week, rates were good but I need to add a Friday and Sat night to my stay and the price jumped sharply. Not unusual with a big event in town that weekend but still, the hotel was not in any way busy with COVID still being on people’s minds. Overall, the hotel was what I expected from the Ibis brand but maybe due a refresh too. The location is fine and I could get to everywhere I needed. Full disabled access as usual although I can’t advise if there’s a room or two fitted out with a special-needs bathroom.

The hotel is located on the pedestrian street in the Old Town of Nuremberg, GALARIA shopping malls, various brand stores, DM, ROSSMAN, etc. The brand stores that people recognize are very convenient, and they can be reached within a five-minute walk from the railway station. Going to Emperor Fort, the famous Christmas market is also very close. The rooms are large, apartment-style, with kitchen, in short, this wine is very recommended, right, the only thing that is not very satisfying is the breakfast, the variety is small, the restaurant is small.

Given the location south of the train station away from historical Nuremberg, this is a rather unassuming hotel in a meh building. However.... I would choose this over any historical centre hotel for its excellent service, super comfortable rooms and nice service. The location is very good, about 3min walk from the main station, but the neighbourhood is a rather boring one without much entertainment (which I wasn't looking for) . I had to travel due to work and was really pleased how serious they have been taking hygiene precautions, from the super clean room and communal areas to the breakfast - best hotel breakfast so far since the restrictions. The reception is bright, and the receptionists extremely friendly and helpful. My room out the back of the building (a standard single) was super quiet, even with the windows opened. The room was a decent size for a single, with a 120cm extremely comfortable bed, a small desk and a fridge (with free beer and water, so no need to go out at all after work!) Rarely have I slept so well away from home. Breakfast service was super friendly, you had lots of choice (to be made the day before) and breakfast is brought to the table, with friendly staff offering more food and coffee. I tried another hotel in Nuremberg closer to the historical centre but this wins by a mile if you want a quiet comfortable place with working space.

Bad overall experience! The pictures of our room says enough about the cleanliness in the room. Hundreds of black bugs all over- also in the bed. Ceiling was full of spiderwebs and dust (which of course had the advantage of trapping some of the bugs -LOL) Staff in the reception did give us another room. We booked the room because the homepage said that rooms had air conditioning. Our room did not have this and the temperature was 31 degrees Celsius. We booked the room through hotels.com, so maybe they give the air condition rooms to cash paying guests only. Hotel was not even near full, so why not treat every guest the same?- after all, they could be eager trust pilot users ;-) Restaurant only served a dinner buffet, due to COVID-19 (does not really make sense). We arrived 2 hours before they closed the buffet, and saw that all dishes in the buffet where close to empty, totally empty or had been sitting around for hours. The only thing that looked fresh, was the fruit salad, which the rest of the black bugs also found interesting . As we told the waiter that we would like to cancel our participation, he was quite rude and said that they where constantly sending in fresh dishes, we told him that the chef just made the opposite statement. All in all- not really a good experience for a “4-star hotel”

I spent two nights here after being unable to find something more central. This wasn't an issue as the U Bahn is right on the doorstep with the old town only a short trip. Compact clean and comfortable room. Slightly odd in that the sink and shower were actually in the corner of the bedroom and not separate. I was on my own so no issue. Staff pleasant and helpful. Reasonably priced on site parking. Didn't eat here so can't comment on meals. Would happily stay again.

A primary reason for booking this hotel was that it offered free parking. What they do not say is that parking is not secure and is on a first come, first served basis. On our arrival there was apparently no space available, but when I remonstrated with the receptionist she found a space for us. After that, all was good. Located within the old town walls, most attractions are within easy walking distance from the hotel. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Real glasses for drinks was a nice touch. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection of cold meats, cheeses and scrambled eggs. One thing to be aware of, if you are visiting in summer, is that the rooms, at least our room anyway, have no air-con. Overall a nice place and we shall be happy to return.

Good location, a road with the old town, you can go underground. The outdoor parking lot can't park many cars, about less than 20 cars, enter the parking lot, you need to drive close to the lift pole, automatically lift, when you come out, you need to pay the parking fee at the front desk. There is a young man at the front desk who is very warm and very good. Use the remote control to open the lift pole at the hotel entrance.

Despite our re-expedited concert date, we have not allowed us to spend some beautiful days in Nuremberg at Loew's Mercury. We arrived with the train and had no long way to the hotel at the Nürnberg train station. On the first night we used the good kitchen and eaten there in the restaurant: fresh cream piper with fine garden herbs, house-made serving noodles and colorful salads, as well as barbecue “Loew's Hotel Mercury” With cattle-swine and chicken breast filet, Nuremberg roastbratwurst, roast siblings of pommes frites, two types of dip and colored salads. Our room was to the backyard and ok. Unfortunately, the emergency guard is obviously near and even on the road at night, so it is quiet in the room when the windows are closed. Due to the rail strike, we could only take our planned return two days later. The hotel has allowed us to extend our stay accordingly.

But on the other hand there was no parking space in front of the hotel to drop the luggage. Public parking space was nearby and ok. Information about the actual Corona requirements on the day of arrival would be a good service as it's hard to get all the different restrictions based on the German Bundesland. The lobby is strange, lots of weird sculpts make of sticks and odd bigs of wool when you walk in. The lobby is also very outdated but does that really matter? So many hotels put lots of money into heir lobbies and the rooms are basic. The staff were friendly and they told me they had given me an upgrade. The room was a mini suite, very basic, cold atmosphere but practical. The bed was comfortable with good linen and the shower was powerful. They had large pumps of shampoo etc which is much more sustainable although I bring my own. There was a fridge in the room and they say "Free minibar" which is 2 beers and 2 bottles of water! Breakfast was good, lots of choice. I suppose it was just the decor and the "cold" room that put me off. It was an easy train journey into town and also to the Messe where I was working. If anyone is looking, there is a good vegan restaurant 4 minutes walk away and a zero waste shop nearly next door.

Low price, to the old city and the station 5 stops tram (6+5 routes), 1.7km or 4m tram just to the old city . From the airport on a single ticket for 90min to get to the subway U2 to the railway station, go to U1, go 1 stop by the subway, then walk 1.2 km or on tram #6 to go three stops. All dooally fast and on schedule. The room on 2h we had a big, teapot, refrigerator no, safe and feather is. Bed is white, towels are normal, in the shower dosage with gel. WI-FI stable, free. We walked all day, in the hotel only slept, breakfast didn't take, we all arranged, t. the price is low, and the hotel is decent. My trip was cancelled due to COVID-19 (trade show was cancelled) and this hotel is refusing to refund the money! They told me they can only re-book me for another date in 2020, which they know is totally useless because so far Germany doesn't even accept travelers from USA and even if they will at some point this year the purpose of my trip was to attend a trade fair, which would only happen in 2021. The management of this hotel only worries about their profit and not about customers. They basically took my money and keep hiding behind their "policies". It's very typical for German "hospitality" industry - they feel that as long as their policy is followed the customer can go pound sand. Needless to say, I will never stay at this hotel and will actively discourage anyone I know who travel to the trade fair to avoid this hotel at all cost. This hotel jacks up prices for very mediocre accommodations during the fair (I paid close to $300/night for room that typically costs $125 on a non-fair day) and refuse to help customer in any situation. All I wanted was to re-book my room for 2021 in order to attend the trade fair next year and I was brushed off like dust when I tried to communicate with the hotel. They had the nerve to ask for my compassion(!!!) after taking my money...LOL If you must stay at this hotel, always buy some sort of insurance, otherwise you're on your own if you need help. I'm sure they think they're completely right, because they followed their policies, but this customer will never forget.

The hotel is very well situated and the rooms were good standard rooms of Ibis. Nevertheless, the lady at the reception when we arrived at midnigth was not kind a all. Firstly she said she could not check what was included and what was not included in our reservation (parking? breakfast?). Secondly, she was unpolitly asking for the documents and pasports of all the members of our family (we were three in two rooms) and she was addressing one of us in a very rude manner. Then she said that I could not tell nor show the id number or take back the ID of my sister because that was a private matter!!! (may be this receptionist thaught she was an inmigration officer?...) Not a very good experience when you arrived at midnigth after driving 8 hours. The next morning we asked the people from the reception about this incident and they apologized informing us that people in the night ship are "external workkers" not working for the hotel. Very bad choice in mi opinion and not good for Ibis reputation. Thanks.
