The hotel is functional in a IBIS kind of way. Everything works and is setup for business traveller. The location is however a bit of a problem. On one side there is the canal, beautiful, tranquil and relaxing with their garden and only a small road seperating the hotel from the canal - where they also have a small garden. Rooms are on either the ground floor or the 1st floor. We arrived late at night without a booking and got a room for 100 Euro. We just needed somewhere peaceful to sleep for 7 hours, as we left early in the morning. Unfortunately the room we got was facing the street, which has trucks and cars going down all night long. No a problem if you want to use AC and close the (soundproofed) windows, but as others have said, the rooms can be rather stuffy; they are small. Outside temperature was a pleasant 24C at night, so would have loved to have the breeze come into the room, but that would have meant being unable to sleep due to the road noise (about 10m away from the window) The night manager that checked us in was efficient and the whole process was done in a minute or two (paid by card and done, no ID, forms, etc...). In the morning it was however a bit of a suprise to be told that the breakfast was to be charged seperate (although after explaining that only one of us ate - and our little boy only had a muesli - and I had a croissant and a coffee) they charged us for one breakfast instead of two (12.50 Euro). Dont think I would come back, the price is rather high for what we got.

An amazing architectural restoration in one of southern France's most intact walled medieval cities where people actually live. The building has been rebuilt with love, sweat, craftsmanship and vision by a young family to world class standards. Just as important is the equally flawless service. The couple actually run the hotel and set the service standard themselves. When was the last time tour bellman owned the hotel or were waited on by the co-owner of a small hotel chain. Yes this is not their first rodeo world travels and collectors of unique historic properties. While this hotel is only 2 years old they have successfully built up from a single hotel in the walled city of Carcassonne to 3 hotels in that UNSCO world heratiage site, riding from success to sucess. The hotel has a full bar and wine selection, tapas, and continental breakfast available on the front deck or hip interior but not a restaurant. Don't fret, while the walled village is small there is at least a weeks worth of fine restaurants tucked away down the medieval streets bedecked with flowers. One tiny note of caution is rooms 1-5 may still faintly hear the "club" music played on the front deck until 11pm. We had room 1. There is also private indoor parking if arriving with an expensive car. Multiple languages spoken. Visited in August

We stayed overnight having explored the Carmargue area. The room had 1 double and 1 single bed. Air con, a fridge and a TV. There is a swimming pool at the hotel but we didn't make use of it. Was basic but comfortable room with separate toilet and bathroom. Walked into Aigues-Mortes, safest option is to walk along the canal which is pleasant and fairly well lit for most of the way. Breakfast was included and had a fairly good selection, croissant, pain au chocolat, fruit and some cereals. Some roquefort type cheese and cold meat. Hotel is just off a roundabout opposite a super u and an intermarché supermarket. Slept well with no road noise heard despite being on the ground floor closest to the road.

This was our 5 day base for exploring The Camargue. A motel rather than hotel, with cars parked right outside all the rooms. Double bed with very comfortable mattress. Loads of wardrobe space though room itself not that big. All have outside table with 2 chairs, some more private than others. Safe in room impossible to use, actually broke a nail trying to open it. Told manager when we first arrived but he didn’t do anything about it. Huge bath, diagonally across the bathroom so bigger than the end wall with good shower over. There was always plenty of hot water. Perfect free wi-fi. Breakfast just an extra €9 each, good choice of hot and cold with decent coffee (on last day they gave us free coffee!) with tables inside and out. There was a lovely outdoor pool, well looked after with comfy loungers and noodles! Always nearly deserted and we enjoyed the last hour or so of the sun each day. Only slight downsides were that it does need mosquito mesh on the windows otherwise you can’t leave them open. Would be hell in high summer. You’d either fry or be bitten! Only 2 sockets in room but we coped. Secure electric gates at night a plus. It’s on a roundabout so we were worried about noise but no problem at all. 20 mins walk, 5 mins drive to town, if you can find somewhere to park! All the staff we met were very helpful. For €67 per night this was a real bargain.

A really lovely hotel! We were given a great welcome, our room was great, the breakfast was really nice, and we couldn't have had a better situation (right on the Viarhona) with secure parking for our bikes. The room had a great view of the canals and the walls of Aigues-Mortes! Would recommend!

We stayed two nights in this self contained villa, it was well equipped and very convenient for the town. Noisy wooden stairs let the place down but it was excellent value for money. We didn’t use the pool or laundry but both were convenient and looked well maintained. Parking easy and secure. The bakery nearby was excellent and the town of Aigues Mort is lovely, the market on Wednesday morning was superb too. There are some good places to eat in town. This is a lovely region to explore and Aigues Morte is an ideal base.
