      While visiting my son in Studio City recently, my wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Mikado Hotel. To be honest, the place could use a little TLC. The lobby was very nice, though the carpet was a little worn. The fireplace was beautiful and provided a comfortable place to relax. The attendant who helped us check in was extremely pleasant. The rooms are small, but not uncomfortably so. All the essentials were there: Nice, big-screen TV with plenty of channels; coffee and coffee-maker; refrigerator; microwave; hair dryer and large soaps and shampoos; fluffy, large towels! The bathroom was small and, the mortal sin of so many hotels was evident in that you had to be a contortionist to reach the TP while on the commode. For the rate we paid, this was a blessing! The hotel was economical and comfortable with a nice pool and hot tub. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat...especially with the Kahuna Tiki Tu sushi/tiki bar right on the property!

      Grab the first fragrance! This restaurant has just opened, the whole is butterfly wind, really super cute! Overall it is very clean and the service attitude at the counter is very kind There is an outdoor atrium on the first floor, very comfortable, you can sit outside and have breakfast The room is quite spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet; there are vending machines on my floor to buy drinks. But it may be on every floor. There are some souvenirs and chocolates beside the counter. When I booked the room, I indicated that I needed indoor slippers. I wanted to say that I might have to ask for it at the counter. I didn't expect to see slippers beside the bed when I walked into the room. It was really sweet! I saw that there was a bar at the counter but there was no one. I asked my sister at the counter. They said that it was still under preparation, but it should open before the end of the year. I will give it a try when it opens! There is a whole foods supermarket nearby, the price is a bit expensive but the stuff is special and high-end, I haven't seen it in other general supermarkets There is a small massage pool and a gym. My boyfriend went to work out. He said it was clean. All in all I like this restaurant very much. It is a very period now, clean is the most important thing! Push!

      The EL Patio is here to get your money, and they get it any way they can. I had a horrendous experience at this motel. I don’t like the fact that I am about to lead into what they may interpret as trash talk, I assure you I am being completely honest. This was a bad experience and I solely blame the way this place is run and cared for. My reaction is completely justified, and I write this now to protect others from falling into this trap. Recently, the electricity was shut off at my apartment for a few days. One of those days, my partner and I decided we wanted to stay at a small hotel for the evening. We live nearby the El Patio, and we thought it looked kinda cute on the outside. It looks like an older motel, set back on a rectangular lot. They advertised having a free breakfast online which helped sell me on renting the room there, but after my credit card had cleared, and I received my non refundable room booking confirmation, in the fine print it stated that this rental did not include breakfast. False advertising if you ask me. Check in is at 3pm and check out time is 11am which is not a bad time for check out, but the people who run the El Patio, were knocking at our unit door at around 10:20 to see if we were done with the room yet. It wasn’t done in a friendly way. There is a sign in the office that states that they can charge up to $300 for a deposit which is well over the amount that all amenities present are worth. The deposit is not given back at check out, they hang onto it for three to seven days. During those three to seven days it’s to be assumed they detail your room after you leave and decide how much to take out of it. My singular experience of this process wasn’t a great one. They did take money out of the deposit, even though everything was left in the same condition when we arrived and charging people $50 to $75 for a small spot on the cheapest thinnest towels I’ve ever seen, is the complete opposite of what a hotel is supposed to be offering. Hospitality and relaxation are two wonderful things good hotels provide, this is definitely a motel, that even other reviewers have reviewed being hostile, cheap, overpriced, and uninviting. The rooms are maybe 300 square feet with two uncomfortable queen sized beds or a king bed, all with a uncomfortable thin polyester comforter and two small cheap unfluffy pillows, a small cheap table with two equally cheap flimsy looking chairs, single night stand and a very cheap and smaller lcd television hooked to the wall. The television has weak sound and is not a smart tv, the model is very dated but does have hdmi hook ups available for your devices or computer. There are three WiFi signals for each side of the hotel lot and all three signals are described on my computer as ‘weak risky insecure signals.’ After a few minutes of using their signal, I disconnected due to slowness, signal brown outs and the worry of security of my devices and used my own cell signal instead.

      Wonderful man running this hotel. I believe his name to be Mr. Sherman. My husband and I had some family things come up before traveling that kept us from being able to arrive at a decent hour. I let the hotel know that we wouldn’t be able to arrive until around 2:00am. I was informed that the office closed at 10:00pm so they wouldn’t be able to accommodate. Knowing it was a small hotel I understood. I was offered to have any fees associated waived & not be charged anything. I understood and began looking for other hotels in the are. It seemed that they were all full for the evening. I messaged bookings.com where I made the reservation & they let me know they would reach out to the hotel and then offer me a comparable room at a different hotel. Mr. Sherman called me letting me know I wouldn’t be charged but he was still trying to figure out the process with booking.com. After much back and forth between Mr. Sherman, bookings.com, and myself, Mr Sherman called me to let me know that he would go ahead and wait up for us & allow my husband and I to check in at 2:00am. This meant so much to us as we were already having a difficult day and finding a room last minute while we were attempting to get on the road was very stressful given the lack of availability in the area. Mr. Sherman understood this and really went above and beyond for us as guests. He even called me at 1:30am to see where I was at in the road. He extended our check out by an hour as well since we arrived so late. This is personal guest service you wouldn’t get at a larger hotel.

      We stayed a night in room 230 which has a lovely jacuzzi with fancy columns on both sides of the tub. (There's also another jacuzzi room which has a different layout.) In our room there was a king bed, a queen bed, a table with two chairs, night stands, half size fridge (no freezer), armoire, closet, and bathroom amenities. If you are looking for a shower stall that has some safety elements for a senior, this qualified. It was an installation shower stall with direct walk-in, and two little ledges in the shower stall if you want to perch instead of stand, a totally embedded horizontal safety bar across the back, and a nozzle on a hose so that you can bathe yourself hand-held style. The television is perched on top of the closet which is pretty high up. You can watch it comfortably if you're lying in the king bed, but it's not watchable from anywhere else in the room. The mini fridge was on when we arrived which I always appreciate. There's a stairway and an elevator. The jacuzzi is designed for two. You have to fill the water above the jet holes, before turning on the jets. The jet button is all the way to the back, so you don't turn the bubbles on til after you're already bathing in the tub. Behind the two spots where you sit, are tub indentations where you can place a rolled towel to use as a headrest. We found the tub to be comfortable and pleasant. There were lots of cars when we arrived so parking was tight. Some of the guests were renting long-term. I liked this hotel room a lot but my boyfriend didn't like the area.

      It was mostly fine. Cynthia was great, any other time I felt like my presence was an imposition. I stayed for two nights for my daughters birthday, each time I walked past the “concierge” I would say hello and most times would be ignored. The beds were super hard and the refrigerator in the room made a horrible noise about every 30 minutes that would keep us awake. The AC unit was working but not well. The room was small, but functional. The floors were really dirty, it seemed like there was sand on the floors or just really filmy dirt. First thing my daughter likes to do is kick her shoes off and her socks were filthy within minutes. I don’t know that I’ll stay here again, the neighborhood wasn’t great and there were a lot of characters hanging around. Maybe if it was just my husband and I for one night but definitely not a family in a tiny place like that. Not really worth the money if I’m honest. I know it’s LA and it’s pretty close to Universal but I’ll pass in the future. What was good was fine, kind of the bare minimum you’d expect from any hotel but the bad stuff really took the shine off the stay.

      I stayed a week here. I picked this hotel because I know they care about service and because I saw the swimming pool and the breakfast options. The first didn't disappoint: Although at first the aloofness of the clerks bother me, after that their attention to detail and genuine interest in help with people's needs was clear. Swimming pool is closed and breakfast was not an option for me. Bed was quite good, lots of pillows, comfortable. The only thing is that: A) The walls are too thin or. B) The guys upstairs had some sickness that made them dance and jump all the time. Even on this problem the staff was very responsive and solved the problem by throwing the guy out the window from the 4th floor. Of course not, that was only my imagination, but they told me the people above me left. Overall I was happy with the location, the cleanliness and strict Covid regulations.

      location is amazing literaly walking distance to Universal Studios so thats a plus! We arrived at 10AM to check in our room was not ready which was fine because we were heading out to universal studios anyway but MARIA assured us we can go back at 1:30 which is a earlier check in time so that was again a plus! Free breakfast was really good and fresh! This hotel is extremely CLEAN! thats probably why they charge for stains I mean I am all for it I personally wouldn't want to go to a Hotel with STAINED linen nor towels! so I totally get the " No Stain Policy" Overall the Staff (Maria and Sahed I hope I spelled that right!) were extremely helpful, definitely going back in Dec 2019!!! PS.. MAKE SURE TO BOOK THRU THEIR WEBSITE ITS VERY MUCH CHEAPER!!

      Arrived at night, I said the hotel seems to live near the universal studio, the driver said you are inside. Well, during the day I got up to look at the blue sky in California, and when the driver took me down the mountain, I suddenly felt: Howard Hughes or Marilyn Monroe might have gone the same way back then. The hotel has a particularly nice detail: there is a boxer in the lobby where you can buy tickets for various performances, and there is a shuttle bus to pick you up and drop off to Universal Studios every hour, which is very convenient. Under the epidemic, passenger flow has indeed been hit, and it is not easy for everyone.

      If you want to go to Universal Studios for a day, choose this hotel is the best, 5 minutes away from the studio, there is a flyover directly. If you eat, you can go to the pedestrian street outside the studio. There is a pizza shop that is not bad, the price is very cheap! Sorry to forget the name of the store, the location is very good to find next to Starbucks. The room environment is very clean, after all, this hotel has been open for a long time, but the facilities will not be long, sitting on the sofa to see the big night outside is still very comfortable! Breakfast 30 dollars a, the type is quite a lot, many people who did not eat fried rice and porridge for many days expressed satisfaction with hahaha.
