I love grand hotels, and this is one. I have to clarify that I stayed in room 303, with huge windows and a balcony and no stairs. Perfect. My room was beautifully decorated, giving the feeling of a ”grand hotel”. Breakfast was probably one of the best ever breakfasts I ever had in a hotel, regarding service (with a smile) and quality and variety of the food. I also used the hotel to secure transportation from and back to CTA, Catania airport. The price was fair and the quality of the service great.

Located by the main landmarks of the historic centre of Siracusa, Hotel Gutkowski overlooks the sea and is comprised of 2 old buildings, which originally housed local fishermen and craftsmen.Restored in a contemporary style, yet respectful of the Sicilian tradition, the Gutkowski boasts natural colours, intimate interior and a friendly atmosphere.Every room of this historic establishment is a bit different from the other ones, according to its position in the property. Some of the rooms face the sea, others, quieter, overlook the surrounding rooftops or face a typical old street.

I spent three nights here last-minute after the bed and breakfast booked ahead of time went horribly wrong. The lady at the front desk was gracious, helpful, and welcoming, even though I don't know Italian. The room felt luxurious and all the staff of the hotel and adjoining restaurant made the entire stay feel the same. Rooms are cleaned around noon and tidied up again 6-8 if you wish. As expected, a simple ”do not disturb” sign on the door allows opting out as desired. Both breakfast at the restaurant and ”breakfast in bed” are both worth partaking in. The laundry service they provide at the hotel is also worth the price. Just fill out the form in the closet, put the clothes in the bag and leave them on the bed in the morning, and take the accompanying form to the front desk by 10:00. The clothes will be returned to you around 8:00-8:30. My stay here was exactly what I needed to reset on my journey across Sicily. I can't recommend a stay here highly enough. I hope to go back to Siracusa again someday, and I will book my stay here ahead of time this time.

Since we had to find a accommodation at the last minute, among those suggested by the smartphone we chose this because open (in February not all are), with immediate availability and good reviews. The only problem reported by the owner telephone was the lack of breakfast. So in fact only a ”Bed” and not a ”Bed&Breakfast”. Problem not recently but we also confirm, because Nike is a very comfortable structure for those who have the car, as it is just a few dozens of meters from the large parking lot of the car. Molo Sant'Antonio (for payment, like the whole center of Siracusa) and outside the ZTL. It is located on the second floor of a residential building without lift, in which a metal cage attached to a electrical baggage board was installed on the staircase. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, the large and comfortable bed, as well as the bathroom, which was without window. The room was a modern window door with a very soundproof face on a close terrace with a table and two chairs, ideal for a little relaxation, coffee or cigarette. There was a coffee machine, a boiler and a basket with some pots and bags of tisane (a relief compensation for lack of breakfast). We have sleeped two nights and never have the room been cleaned and cleaned, just as for the bathroom and towels. For some, a problem could not be the dark tent that lets a lot of light filter. A courteous but confidential owner, and for no reason invading. The location of the accommodation is very good because it allows you to reach the entrance of Ortigia quietly walking (400 mt, 5 minutes) and, for anyone who wants, also the archaeological Area of Neapel in (1700 mt, 20 minutes).

4 star hotel in great location 500 meters south to Ortigia Island 2km to the north to reach the archaeological site park Rich variety of breakfast There is free parking on the side of the road at the entrance. There is an enthusiastic uncle in the shop opposite to tell me how to park better The roadside room is noisy due to the sweeping work in the early morning, but the balcony is great. There are gains and losses, right?

Re Federico is a centrally located hotel on the island of Ortigia and close to the water. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The hotel appears to be fairly recently renovated and our room was spacious with a well-functioning AC. We also enjoyed the large in-room breakfast in the morning. Other perks include the street cafe on the first floor of the hotel. We had a great cocktail hour there watching people walk the streets. It is also easy to get anywhere on the island from this spot. A few tips - we drove our cars and the hotel was a tad hard to find. I'd advise dropping off your bags and planning to go quickly to the public parking area about 10-15 min walk away. I would say its a tad expensive compared to other hotels of similar quality we stayed in throughout Sicily. All in, a nice pleasant spot in a good location.

Selfishly - Part of me doesnt want to write this review because id prefer for the Hotel not to become too popular! But i promised to sing its praises - so i shall… It’s a real gem of a place - exactly as the description says, full of antiques and art and dripping in an effortlessly elegant, palatial, charm. Our early arrival didnt phase the reception staff, on the contrary, Francesca warmly assured us our room would be ready an hour before check-in time. Complimentary drinks offered by the drlightful Erminia and served on the grape vine festooned terrace helped ease our frazzled spirits and sink us into the calm, quiet elegance that is Henrys House. We had a city facing room which was modestly sized but with everything we needed to be comfortable. Towels plus beachtowels and parasols were an unexpected perk. Bathroom was gorgeous and clean. The fact there are several sea facing sheltered terraces to sit on meant we felt able to meander, spread out, and chill with the most fabulous sea views at every turn. Its a perfect ‘watching the sunset’ spot - best on the island i think. Breakfasts were quite simply fantastic. And im gluten free celiac so frequently have to put up with inferior options, but not here. The buffet choice was extensive, suitable for carnivores and veggies and celiacs. The artwork and interior styling added to its sense of ‘old glamour - tastefully re-envisioned’ and the ambience throughout was relaxed, peaceful and totally welcoming. Francescas skilled assistance and care when we had flight issues was amazing. She went above and beyond to help sort out the issues, allowing us to continue enjoying our final day there. Sadly three nights wasnt enough, so i shall just have to return 🤗🙏❤️

As a small family hotel, we can't expect too much, but it's still worth staying. The location of the hotel is good, it is very convenient to go to Ortiga Island and the city center. The owner of the hotel was very enthusiastic and took the initiative to guide us to the scenic route and introduced us a very delicious Mediterranean restaurant. As a family hotel, the rooms are clean and tidy, which of course cannot be compared with large hotels. Mainly in terms of facilities.

We were hosts of Eureka for a weekend, and we wanted to give us a little time to get away from everything as our wedding is close. We spent a pleasant weekend in total relaxation, we enjoyed the swimming pool at the end of the Roman spa path that offers sauna, Turkish bath, Mediterranean bath and various types of shower, to end with a relaxing massage of the candles of karite butter. The kindness and courtesy of all were really unique. We felt cocktailed. Not to mention our duplex suite where we sleeped in full relaxation. We could taste a very good pizza at the restaurant, and the breakfast of the morning was really plenty, with a wide choice, where we enjoyed the view of the hippodrom; we found ourselves very well and we will certainly return.

The hotel is stylish and has a parking lot in front of the hotel. We stayed in a triple room, with a double bed upstairs and a double bed upstairs, a bathroom downstairs and a shower upstairs. The breakfast is very rich, except for the ones you choose, you can do it alone, and the restaurant decoration is very artistic. The hotel is not far from the cathedral. The night before we went without rain, there was an umbrella in the front lobby of the hotel. The next morning, because of the rain, the front desk also helped to call the taxi to the cathedral. After the rain was wet, I was allowed to delay the check-out for one hour.

Very good location at the same price, very close to the business district and the church square. The rooms are very spacious, very different from those cramped hotel rooms. It is more suitable for the whole family to travel together. The breakfast is very rich, and it is not compliant with a five-star hotel. If the check out is too early, the hotel will prepare a take away breakfast in advance. The only thing to note is that the front desk is not staffed 24 hours a day. If you arrive too late, it is best to greet the hotel in advance.

Optimale solution to visit Siracusa, where we spent 4 nights. Free parking is always available and the possibility of walking both Ortigia and Neapolis, the most interesting points of the city. The hotel is very friendly, the newly renovated rooms are beautiful and clean. It is also very good breakfast with local products. One side of the ground floor has a sealed window wall and the air cannot be changed.

We stayed at this hotel for nine days in late August and early September (2022). The hotel sits on a cliff and is surrounded by a quarry which dates back to antiquity. Externally it has a grand entrance as per the photos, and internally its features echo the Art Deco era. The pool is of a reasonable size and we found that it was rarely busy, perhaps because there was a high turnover of short-stay guests. The public rooms were generally deserted in the evenings. Rooms: Our room, on the first floor, was below the standard one would expect for a room in a four star hotel. It was small and dark, and inadequately equipped for anyone staying for more than one night. There was insufficient space to store clothes and nowhere to dry swimming suits and towels. We had booked a ‘standard room’ through Thomas Cook and were surprised to find ourselves in a room that was much more cramped than those found in three star hotels in other locations. As it happens, after about 24 hours an unpleasant drainage smell appeared in the room. We reported this to Reception, and in response the hotel moved us to one of the rooms with ‘porthole’ balconies on the third floor. This room, which looked out over the quarry and the sea, was larger and better equipped, and certainly much more functional. We were able to unpack our suitcase and dry off our swimming items when they were wet. The cleaning was of a high standard and the cleaning staff pleasant and helpful. Evening meal: As other reviewers have mentioned, there were very few restaurants in the vicinity. Jonica & Zen had a very pleasant outlook over the sea, but was expensive for any item other than pizza. Drago, a bar/restaurant nearby, was slightly less expensive but very crowded and noisy. The hotel restaurant offered excellent service but the set menu generally offered only fish, and the ‘a la carte’ had a limited and unvarying selection. We had the impression that most guests chose to have their evening meal in Ortigia. For those without a hired car this involved a long hike down the hill before nightfall and the expense of a taxi ride back. Sightseeing: We found the walk down to Ortigia and back up the hill to be unpleasant. There was a lot of heavy traffic and the built environment was unattractive and polluted by uncollected rubbish. After one trek down and back in very hot and humid temperatures, we resorted to using the ‘hop on, hop off’ tourist bus as a means of transport into Ortigia (5 euros per person per day with a leaflet available from Reception). Reception also provided maps labelled with the main sights. Of these we would mention the Museum of Papyrus as somewhere unusual and interesting. The tourist bus also stopped at or near the main attractions in mainland Syracuse. These were also within walking distance of the hotel. For those interested in ancient history, the Neapolis archeological park, and the San Giovanni church and catacombs are not to be missed. We would, however, agree with o

Arrived at about 19.15 without pre booking. Receptionist, who I think is the owner was very helpful. He offered us alot of tips regarding restaurants and Ortigia. We parked infront of the hotel in the reserved parking. Hotel is very clean, rooms are big in size. It is situated in an old building without lifts, but he offered to take our bags upstairs. As their was a private party in another building infront, he gave us rooms on the other side of the building so we could have a good night rest. Breakfast wasn’t exactly what we expected, 1 choice of cake, mini croissants, rusks, jam, biscuits and plain yoghurt. Maybe the reason is because he wasn’t expecting us and at this time of year, it’s not that busy. Position is very close to ortigia. In 5 minutes walk you ll be in the Main Street with many restaurants. All in all good priced hotel with a very friendly, caring owner who maked you enjoy your stay.

We stayed at Unahotels One in Siracusa from May 22 to 24, 2022. We had a Smartbox voucher which we redeemed. A standard double room including breakfast. The check in and out is smooth and was very good organized. The hotel is located outside the beautiful historic part of Siracusa. About 7-10 min by car. Cab costs about 15 euros. Not recommended on foot. My first impression was good. However, the One does not meet the standards of a 4star plus hotel by far. For my taste rather a 3 star plus to max. a 4 star hotel. Positive are the very friendly, helpful and upbeat hotel staff. They can always give you a tip. The double room is rather small. It has everything you need. The bathroom is a bit small. When showering, the whole bathroom gets wet because the partition only covers half of it and there is no door. Unfortunately, I must mention here that the cleaning is insufficient. Likewise, the toilet paper made from recycled paper is not really usable. The breakfast is ok. Unfortunately, we were not told that we had to order everything (cheese, ham or salami, etc.) On the 2nd morning we could make up for this. Scrambled eggs, omelet or tomato mozzarella salad is no problem. Coffee is very good. Freshly squeezed orange juice available. The One has a great roof terrace, is set up lounge-like. Unfortunately, the bar is not served and there is no music playing. So there is no atmosphere and the terrace is not really used. We can only conditionally recommend the Unahotels One Siracusa.

The rooms are very beautiful and stylishly decorated. They have everything you expect from a B&B. The air conditioning is very modern and you can make various settings. The rooms also have roller shoes that you can really make it dark. Unfortunately, you can hear the street noise. A very big negative point is the cleanliness. Surfacely everything seemed clean at first sight, but several hairs were both in the bathroom and in the bed. Also the duche was stuck with hair. The rooms were ”cleaned” only once in the time (4 days). After the cleaning power there was only the bed made. Dental paste spots on the floor and grumbles were still there. The towels were also only rearranged (one was even wet from the shower). I don't need a stranger in the room if she doesn't do anything there.
