Only used the Hotel to use the EV charging on a trip back from Wales to England, but popped in the Hotel. The chap on Reception was really friendly and welcoming, and went to get a bite to eat at the Bar. Food selection was wide and varied, and what we had (one fish finger butty, one calamari and one sausage and chips) were really fresh and tasty. The barman was also very friendly, very helpful. We had the place to ourselves, which was spotless and far more welcoming than a noisy packed Motorway Service Station. Will definitely use again. Thank you to the two guys we saw, you were excellent.

We had a fab time for a special occasion. We didnt think it looked outdated and our room in the signature suites were lovely. But a few things that spoiled it a little was the hidden charges. 10 pound added to the final bill for room service that isn't written anywhere and it's 140 percent of of bill! 17.80 for a child's chicken nuggets and chips! One ketchup included on the delivery. For a 5 star Hotel it's a very poor way to treat guests. There is no information available anywhere! I've stayed at many 4 and 5 start hotels and they always have a book to explain where everything is, charges etc. We have nothing. No idea where anything is in on this place. Only 1 robe in our room which was fine in the end as the only time we could book swimming was 830 at night or 6 Am! The fact we checked in at 130 and that was what was left was ridiculous. You pay the nearly 300 pound room rate to be able go use these facilities and then not being able to is a kick in the teeth. It's decidedly not a 5 star hotel in this case and is not worth the money. Food at the steam on six was lovely. My main came out burnt ad you can see on the photos. Considering the price and the posh to feel to the place this shouldn't havr left the kitchen. The started came out very quickly but there was a lengthy wait for over 30/40 minutes for the main course to come out so I was hungry and accepted the food at that point. The cumin mash was also very spicy which you don't expect with cumin and I wouldn't have ordered if that was stated But the rest of the food was lovely and couldn't fault it but again 65 pound for a burnt course is not what you expect or deserve in a 5 star establishment. Again as others have said, charging for private parking that is attached to the grounds is stupid. It shows its not a 5 star as they are doing anything to take more money from guests when it should be included in the rates. Also covid masks were a token gesture. Worn around necks and taken off to get close to talk to you. No one wants to wear masks but it's still the law in Wales so it was very disappointing that safety wasn't taken seriously. I hope this will not impact us leaving. The staff however were all lovely and very welcoming. If it wasn't for the hidden charges, burn main and not being able to use spa facilities it would have been a 5 star perfect evening but for a total of 490 pound for 1 night a room, afternoon tea and a meal was not worth that without the rest of the amenities

had high expectations of this hotel but was sadly disappointed. on arrival looked lovely grounds and hotel lobby. was upgraded due to booking wrong room so expected it to be a better room than originally booked but it was very shabby, furniture worn and nothing in the hotel fridge. bed very comfortable though. the telly was on the wrong wall to be able to watch it from the bed and there was not many large towels. went to the buffet restaurant the food was warm not hot and was very bland. curry very watery and just warm. not much to choose from. had the cheese and cracker the cracker was stale where they was left out all day and not much selection of cheese. had a balcony room but could not sit on it just rails. the jacuzzi in the main area was not working and surprised there was only sauna to share with my partner the other jacuzzi and steam room and sauna was in allocated changing rooms so if going there with a partner you have to go in separate. the steam room was not hot. would not go there again.

Had some great food and drinks at dinner. The restaurant was clean and great environment to wind down after long day at work. Being in the hotel was really convenient as didn’t have the time to search for a restaurant. Our waitress Amelia was really lovely and accommodating.

Stayed for two nights in June. Room was great, all working amenities, very well decorated, loads of space. Tapas in the garden is excellent, and very reasonably priced. Drinks were expensive, but no more so than you would expect in a hotel like this. Steak and venison in the restaurant was delicious, cooked just right, wine was excellent and price was ok. Breakfast was good, the eggs royale I would particularly recommend. Only minor gripes were that the sourdough bread is too dry and heavy, and there could have been more options with the continental breakfast. Had a great time in a lovely setting.

We stayed here on 26/5/22 and the staff could not have been more helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Despite its proximity to the M4 , on one of its busiest night traffic wise, we can honestly say we never heard anything. The room was clean and roomy with nice power shower and comfortable mattress and topper, a good nights sleep. The buffet breakfast was also great value with a wide choice items. The manager made our stay even better with her very kind generosity. Would thoroughly recommend.
