I really enjoyed my stay here. The room was nice & the view was amazing. Beach was less then 2 mins walk. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and everything was fine. Check-in was quick & easy which was appreciated as we were up since 2 AM to travel and didnt get to the hotel until 12 pm. Normal check-in time is 14:30 but the staff let us checked in early. The hotel is not in Split but you can go to the Old Town by bus - cost 13kn pp each way. However, the walls are quite thin and the soundproof is not very good. One night, there was a singing event at the park nearby the hotel (about 5-10 mins away) which went on until 12 am. We could hear the singing quite loud. We could also hear the people above us walking around on a daily basis. It bothered me sometimes but its not a major problem. We also found the plugs a but difficult to use. With the UK to EU adpater, we had to play around with the plug for a bit until it stays plugged. We can hear the room next door when they try to plug in as well. Besides, there is no blankets - just 2 pieces of very thin sheets but we managed. One day, we went out for a whole day for an excursion and when we returned at 8 pm, the room was not cleaned or made up. It was because we didnt put the sign out for the room attendance. We had to ask reception for clean towels. Daily room service would be better. Overall, it was a good hotel and i really enjoyed my time here. There are areas to be improved but i would stay here again.

What a place to spend some days... The apartment's are pure luxury. Everything is electrical but functional. Our apartment had every detail we may need to cook, to entertain or to rest - all perfect! The pool it's perfect and the gym is very nice as well with available sauna. It worth every Kuna/Euro that you spend there. You need a car to go to Split old Town and the surrounding beaches because the one near its not exactly a beach. Garage available. We stayed at Ivana's place and she was so helpful and kind that we can only recommend her 200%. Hope to see you soon.

The type of breakfast is a little less, but overall it is OK, the facilities are general, the elevator is a bit old, and the room is healthy. The price/performance ratio is still relatively high, and every time you come to Split to save money, you live.

We stayed at Villa M during Jul-19 for a week, there was 9 people in our group. The staff at Villa M are second to none and helped organize airport transfers for us. The trips they recommend and places to eat were superb. They couldn’t do enough for us and even the General Manger gave some of us a lift into centre of Split one day. The hotel itself is spotless and very well kept. For a small hotel this is one of the best places I have stayed as all the staff were very pleasant to deal with. I would highly recommend Villa M.

I've stayed at Apartment Cordis with my mum last September and never took the proper time too leave a review, so here we go! Our stay there was really nice and I would definitely recommend the place. Our apartment was nice and clean, the bedroom was spacious and had air con, the bathroom and kitchen were both fully equipped (washing machine, cooking appliances, etc.). The decoration is exactly what you see in the pictures. The highlights for us were: - The location: very convenient, if you don't want to drive. It's close enough to the center of Split, so you can go there by bus and it doesn't take very long. There are also several places where you can do your food shopping nearby, so we appreciated that. - The pool: it's small, but really enjoyable. It's an urban location, so it felt particularly nice to have this little oasis to relax and enjoy the sun. There is also a garden/terrasse area that you can use to relax and sunbathe. But the main highlight was the niceness of the host, Sandra, and of her parents. Sandra made sure we had everything we needed (towels for the pool, maps for our visits, sunscreen if we needed it, etc.). She was always available to give us advises (what bus to take, what places to see, what restaurant to try...). You can see that she really wants her guests to have a great time and it made all the difference for us. Thanks for your kindness Sandra!

We arrived late in the evening and were made to feel so welcome. Sandra, Josipa and Anna were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them and they looked after us as though we were family. The apartment and the facilities were spotlessly clean and stocked with provisions for our stay. We were given maps of the area and some excellent advice to make the most of our stay based on what we wanted from our trip. Throughout our stay we were made to feel like old friends and as though we were the only guests staying (even though all apartments were occupied). Towels were provided for the extremely clean pool and the beach as was sunscreen. The garden is stunning and provided a little oasis in the summer sun. We will definitely be returning to Split and to stay here. -You will not regret booking here! Thank you Sandra, Josipa and Anna for everything you did for us and for making us feel so welcome! x

This is the real 4-star hotel during this trip to Croatia! The location of the hotel is not in the old city, the outside environment is average, and the facilities inside are good! There is an elevator, the point is that there is an elevator! There is a breakfast buffet, a 24-hour gym, and a sauna, but the parking lot is too difficult to get in and out, and the general car skills have to stand aside. Although the parking lot is free, it is too test of car skills! The beauty front desk came down to pick us up to the parking lot, the service was good 👍

Me and my boyfriend recently stayed in VIP rooms Split. The service was fantastic from the moment of booking, whenever we had a question, Mario got back to us promptly. Mario arranged our return airport transfer for us which was great (250 kn each way) the driver was waiting for us at the airport when we arrived and Mario was waiting for us at VIP rooms, we was early for check in so our room wasn't ready but we was allowed to leave our cases and get changed. Mario also sent us links to restaurants and trips that he recommended. Fabulous service. Thanks Mario and VIP Room. Tiffany and Joe

Although I found it a little hard to locate on my arrival due to not taking the address ! This is an oasis of calm with immaculate rooms, modern fittings and the whole building is maintained to a high standard. The service was more of a small hotel with staff on duty happy to help with recommendations and advice. As a sole traveller I shared a female dorm with private bath and it was excellent. Location is great. Terrace outside is perfect for breakfast and a chat with fellow travellers later (keep the noise down though!) Enjoyed thoroughly and would return.

Think of the Mak Luxury Rooms as a top-notch AirBnB just outside the centre of Split. It’s a perfect base from which to explore this beautiful and historic city. The owner of the property, Karlo, could not have been more helpful throughout our stay. He even organised a taxi to the airport and met us to help with luggage on our final day. Rooms are fresh, bright, and modern with huge comfortable beds. The entrance to the property is a little dark and creepy – but don’t let that put you off as it’s completely unrepresentative of the property itself. The Mak Luxury Rooms miss out on a five star rating for just a couple of reasons: either we were sharing the property with some extremely loud people (doesn’t help that we were next door to the kitchen, in Olive room) or the walls are very thin. Having noticed that a guest in a previous review described the property as very quiet, I think perhaps we were just unlucky on this occasion. The second reason for my four-star rating is breakfast. This is taken at a small hotel, the Diana, just a couple of minutes away from the property. Unfortunately the breakfast offering was extremely disappointing (my dietary requirements don’t help but even my partner’s breakfast wasn’t great). It’s worth mentioning that the owner of the Diana was friendly and welcoming. (Finally, it definitely didn’t help that Karlo’s cleaner thought I was pregnant – at 49, I bloody well hope not! – when I was just suffering the bloating effects of eating wheat. Ouch 😂)

The good: Sparkling clean, modern apartment with marble floors and a spacious bathroom with a perfect shower. Linens were good quality cotton and mattresses comfortable. There's no breakfast, but tea and coffee-makings are plentiful. Good A/C. The ridiculous: The GPS dead-ended us at the old town, but not the proper side (for Prima's just a few steps from auto accessibility. The idea is, dump your bags...then park somewhere else.) Instead of giving us new cross streets to navigate to the place, we were told - hysterically, and repeatedly - to wait while they walked to us; many phone calls, lots of blather, and 30+ minutes later they arrived. They then rode with us to find an affordable parking spot, which was appreciated. Once parked there followed a 10-minute walk to the hotel schlepping suitcases. Just be certain you have the cross streets entered and NOT the street address. And try to make sure they are listening to you and not rattling on. Jeez. Quite a karma trip.

We had a pleasurous experience all the time from check-in to our departure. Everyone is very kind and friendly - at the reception, at the restaurant and in the wellness. The receptionist Mia made us feel valued by doing everything she can to resolve any challenges we came across. The same goes for the second receptionist, also called Mia, who checked us out. Since the hotel wasn’t full, they gave us a complimentary upgrade of the rooms. Rooms are clean and well designed. The wellness has a very nice. Thank you again for amazing experience! We will definitely come back Hotel summary + well designed + great hotel service + very welcoming and professional staff + good breakfasts where every wish comes true + 24/7 reception - carpets in the rooms (not hypoallergenic) - missing pricelist for the minibar - missing some snacks to eat in the minibar Wellness summary + very very very well designed + welcoming service + free water to hydrate included + possibility to order some drinks from the bar + swimming suit dryers in the changing rooms (amazing device!) + amazing sky-like ceiling above the swimming pool + very nice and relaxing swimming pool waterfall - missing shower gel/soap in all of the showers in the changing rooms and on toilets - no hangers for towels near the tropical rain showers (since there is not any cold plunge one can use after sauna for cooling, we used rain showers - there are no towel hangers so we had to go few meters naked to the shower and from there to take the towels) - turkish bath is steam sauna (turkish baths are something different) - unbalanced steam amount in steam sauna (once the amount was correct, second there was none) - the same goes for the temperature since it is connected - too weak swimming pool counter current - would be great to have some clock in the steam sauna

We spent five days at the Heritage and could not have been more comfortable. Our room was a bit small (my wife joked that we could only open one suitcase at a time) but beautifully furnished and appointed. The location inside the palace was ideal for our purposes. A left turn out the front door takes visitors to Diocletian's cellars while a right turn leads to modern shops and restaurants, and the Game of Thrones Museum. The hearty breakfast buffet provided all the fuel we needed for a day of adventure and the staff was more than ready to meet every need. The Heritage would be my first choice if returning to Split.

Apartments Djanovic is perfectly located within the centre of Split, within the old town walls. Baldo was a wonderful host and made us feel very welcome. The apartments are located next to a lovely garden which Baldo looks after and which has a number of cats living in it. The black furry one is really cute and friendly! Our room was quite small but clean and comfortable with lovely original brick walls and windows facing out to the garden area. We think it was fantastic value for the price we paid (about $AU114 per night in August/September). All the major sites within the old town area are literally a couple of minutes walk away, whilst everything else within the main area of Split (including the port, bus station, Bacvice beach etc) is also within walking distance of the apartments. Baldo also kindly dropped us to the airport very very early in the morning for 250 kuna, which is comparable (or even cheaper) than what the taxi drivers had quoted us. We would definitely recommend staying at Apartments Djanovic during a stay in Split!

We had four nights at The Damida Luxury Rooms. Best choice we made. From the moment we booked, Daniela was very helpful and welcoming. She arranged our airport taxi transfer, which was a godsend as we arrived at night. Our driver parked nearby and walked us to our door (parts of old town are quirky narrow streets and alleyways). Our room was perfect, ideal for our short break. We enjoyed sitting and eating breakfast in the small pretty courtyard, Daniela arranged for the lovely housekeeper to leave fresh bread and prosciutto ham for us one morning. Delicious with fresh coffee from our coffee machine. Coffee and tea facilities are provided but there are plenty of places nearby to get breakfast. It is literally 2 minutes walk from a number of lovely, small, local restaurants, on the edge of the old town, where we had some lovely meals in the evening. Also very handy for walking up out of town to the glorious Marjan Hill viewpoint. Although in the old town, it is only a short stroll into Split main town. Perfect accommodation in a perfect position.

We stayed here for four nights in a one bed apartment and loved it. It is immaculate, modern and has all the amenities you would need - fridge, cooker, hob, kettle, tea & coffee, kitchen utensils, towels, glasses, cups, bowls etc, hairdryer, tv, shampoo, dental kit etc. Basically, everything you need for a stay is here! Location is brilliant. In the centre of everything. A couple of minutes walk from the Riva. Supermarkets/bakeries/bars and restaurants are just down the stairs. The balcony is a great addition to the apartment and is lovely to relax in in the morning or evening time above the hustle and bustle of the streets below. Do note that the apartment is up a lot of steps and if you are any way immobile it might be an issue for you. However, this was not an issue for us. In the apartment, there are two sofas, dining table and kitchen area, bathroom and bedroom. The host, Tanja, was a wealth of information and was really a pleasure to meet on our trip to Croatia. She gave us useful information on where to eat, shop, visit and information on tours. She was on hand, if needed, so we really felt well looked after during our stay. Would highly recommend and if travelling back to Split would 100% return to Apartments Tin.

A small and cozy hotel located in a great location and some rooms have a beautiful view of the Old Town Square, the Silver Gate and the palace and the church. The hotel is right inside the Old Town Square and is connected to the Old City walls. The personal treatment I received in the emails before I arrived and also at the time of my arrival was more than expected they helped me with everything I needed in a courteous and patient manner and helped me find more beautiful places to see in and around the city. The hotel does not have an elevator and I knew it but to get such a view and a winning location it was worth going up 3 floors of stairs. The rooms are air conditioned and decorated in a warm home style, breakfast is a la carte, bring a menu you choose what you want to eat because of the corn virus, was great, they also have a restaurant in the hotel that looks good but does not work because of the situation ... I have no bad word to say really was I have a very good experience from the hotel and the city of Split and recommend visiting it

As soon as Irina came to find us when we got lost, I knew we had picked a gem of a place to stay. She was warm, friendly, informative and welcoming. All you could wish for...then we got to the apartment and the experiencing got even better (which I didn't think was possible). A beautiful split level apartment in such a central location but tucked away enough to feel peaceful. Everything there you could wish for and a bedroom that ticked all the boxes. Definitely needed that air-con ! Thank you Irina for my little gift, it has taken pride of place on my memory shelf at home... as promised I will be back next year to stay even longer, there's nowhere else in Split I would stay. Thank you for making my first trip to Croatia so memorable.

The hotel is located in the old city, which is full of various hotels and restaurants, so it is not very good to find, but their service is very good, you don't need to find a hotel, they will go to you, then take you over, and Helping to transport your luggage and reserve a parking space. After check-in, you will be given an English brief introduction of all the attractions, and one by one will help you to mark it on the map. The room is a five-star standard room. Although the old town is very noisy, it is almost only closed. What a place! We were lucky enough to stay on the top floor of this gorgeous place which has the most stunning view and also the highlight of hearing the singers coming from the next door palace. Ivan met us, helped us with our ridiculously heavy luggage and showed us a map with some (brilliant) restaurant recommendations. He whisked the car off and parked it in a much cheaper location. This place was well worth paying the extra for and was leaps and bounds ahead of the other places we stayed in Croatia. The location was absolutely perfect, couldnt have been more in amongst the action. Easy to pop back in the afternoon for a change of clothes. Breakfast was fabulous next door and when we needed the car Ivan appeared. The place was excellent with a fabulous host. Thanks for being so accomdation Ivan - we loved it.

Amazing mix of clean, modern and tastefully decorated accommodation within the walls of The Diocletian Palace. There are just 3 rooms, all accessible by a secure corridor. As noted by a previous reviewer, there is no reception and there isn’t a lift to reach the 3rd floor rooms, so won’t suit guests who can’t manage stairs with luggage. We stayed in number 3 which accommodated our family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers - main bedroom, bathroom dressing area and attic style/apex 2nd bedroom with twin beds located up a spiral staircase. Our booking via booking.com didn’t include breakfast. We could have paid for this separately on arrival but chose to visit the local bakeries and coffee shops for a takeaway option by the promenade each morning. Perfect location, seconds away from the palace tower, tourist info, restaurants and shops. Really close to markets, the seafront and the ‘sister’ accommodation, b&b Kastel, where Marijana was extremely helpful. Would highly recommend a stay at the Gothic Palace.

Very satisfied with the hotel, the location of the hotel is great, it is very convenient to go to the attraction, it is thirty or forty meters away from the silver gate of Diocletian's Palace, and the small road leads to the silver gate. The restaurant where the hotel provides breakfast is in the entrance of the silver gate. On the left hand side, take a few steps from the hotel door to the right and then go to the left for a few tens of meters is the Golden Gate, and walk to the seaside street for a few minutes. The hotel receptionist was very patient. After receiving our call, I was waiting for our arrival in the room at the agreed time. I was enthusiastic about the location of the attraction. The hotel should belong to the hotel, there are not many rooms, but the interior is spacious and well-equipped, the decoration is also new, not bad! For Chinese tourists, as long as they overcome the language barrier, there is no problem in staying. Because the hotel is small in size, there is no front desk. If it is coming, the guests should contact the store in English to tell them the arrival time so that they can send people to the room. .

Me and my girlfriend decided to get a Valentines Day package that the hotel offered (which included 2 nights, breakfast in bed, free dinner for one night, access to the wellness and spa) and we must say that the hotel really exceeded all of our expectations. We were really pleasantly surprised when we got to the room and saw rose petals, candles, a bottle of wine, chocolates and much more. It was an amazing first impression and it stayed like that throughout the entire stay. The staff made us feel special and did everything they could to make this a memorable stay. They succeeded in doing so. Really an amazing experience and the price of the package is much less than what we felt was the actual price. Of course it is off-season so it is a bit cheaper but it is still amazing that we experienced all of it for a small price! Amazing food, amazing facilities, amazing staff. Simply brilliant!

We made arrangements with the Hotel Rathuus Wein and Design (Vienna) and for 40 euro a taxi took us to the Vienna Airport, which was a 30-minute drive. We took an Austrian Air flight from Vienna to Split, it took about 90 minutes (183 euro or $207.50/ea.). On arrival in Split, we walked out the Arrivals level doors and took an immediate left turn. Just past some large concrete blocks (blocking vehicles from parking near the airport building) was a commercial parking area. There we got on a Croatia Airlines Bus (30 kuna or $4.60/ea.) that took us from the airport to the marina area in old town Split, about 30-minutes. From there we walked about 10 minutes to the Zephyrus Boutique Hotel. The Zephyrus Boutique Hotel ($220.00/night) was the nicest place we stayed during our trip. We stayed on the third level (actually the 4th floor, unlike the US, the ground level floor is 0) of the hundreds of years old building. The room had a kitchen, living room and separate bedroom, with an adjacent bathroom, all looked brand new. But the best part was an outside sitting area, large enough for 2 chairs and a table. It overlooked the Port of Split and you could sit and watch all the comings and goings of the port. The place had a hot water maker, plates, utensils and a stove/oven, it was all very nice and all very clean. Plus, the owner was nice and extremely helpful. She gave us dinner recommendations and we walked about 5-minutes to Restaurant Sperun (mentioned in Rick Steve book) where we ate extremely good and extremely fresh seafood pasta. Breakfast was not included, but the kitchen refrigerator contained yogurt and milk (left there for us), there was cereal, granola, fruit and ground coffee and coffee maker. As the next day, we met 3 friends who joined us in Split, after one more night, we moved to Lanterna Rooms (about a 3-minute walk from the Zephyrus Boutique Hotel). On to Lanterna Rooms, Split.

The people running this hotel couldn't be kinder and more attentive! I checked in to this place a day later than expected due to my own error and the owners were so awesome about it, even getting my room ready early just so I could minimize the check out time from my other hotel and their check in time. The hotel itself is modern, well decorated with nice amenities and comfortable beds. The rooms were also spotless! One problem with any old city is noise from people below bouncing off the narrow streets and up in to the living areas. Tourists need to be mindful of this when they travel and realize that people live above them and can hear everything you say, especially when you're wasted drunk yelling at someone next to you, that you just met at a bar that you're in love with them...for 3 hours. This unfortunately happened to me here until 5am. No fault of the owners and the hotel, and clearly by the reviews this is not commonplace. This was just a very loud obnoxious American girl (I know this because of the detailed conversation) and her 5 friends. The only downfall that I found to this place is that it is on the 4th floor (3rd floor Euro standards) with no lift. I am fine with this as it is similar to where I live, but I post this in case you or someone you travel with have difficulty with a lot of steps. Knowing how kind the staff/owners are, I am sure they could arrange help though. Overall summary is this place is a nice, clean and modern hotel in a great location. Definitely consider it as an option. My next trip will be on an interior room.

Ok - to make it easy - you check in at the Hotel Marmont - about 20 metres away as this property does not have its own Reception, but don’t let that put you off in any way - it is super easy and they are extremely helpful and friendly there! They take your luggage up the stairs for you and those good people also bring it all down again when you leave. (3 flights but no-where near as fierce as other reviewers would have you believe!) If you are coming from a cruise ship - take my advice and call Hotel Marmont and book their golf cart pick up - directly from the ship - otherwise you will have to drag yr bags as there are no cars allowed in old town (the golf cart was 60 kuna and worth every penny for the ease, plus it was cool!!) Hotel rooms are huge, comfy and with lovely bathrooms - all in the heart of the Old Town. Special mention for the delicious breakfast (included) - with lots of great breakfast options! If you have the budget, the Hotel Marmont looked really lovely too, hope this review helps...!

We spent 3 lovely nights in a suite overlooking the Riva. The building was nestled into the 4th century walls of Diocletian's palace. Call ahead and Roko will guide you to the best place to park your car (behind the bus station) and will escort you up to the suite. Roko was a charming host, full of great recommendations. The fish restaurant Fetivi was fantastic - highly recommended. Being inside the walls and on the Riva was a perfect combination which allowed easy access to all of Splits attractions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

My daughter and I stayed at this place for a week and I turned out to be perfect for us. The location was great! Walking distance to everything we needed. Our host, Mate was wonderful. Met us at the taxi and carried our bags up the stairs for us. He gave us recommendations on restaurants and activities. I do have to add, depending on which apartment you get, there are quite a bit of narrow stairs going up to the apartment. It was perfect for us and helped us work off all the bread and pasta we ate. 😊 Thanks for letting us stay. I would totally stay here again if I ever come back to Split.

Mira made our family very welcome to this good-sized, comfortable, clean apartment, with local advice and suggestions. Great location near t1700 years old Diocletian Palace, a lovely short walk away through the old town. The huge, leafy Marjan Park with its quieter and partially shaded beaches is a few minutes walk the other direction. Convenient, good quality local bakery and cornershop both a minute away. My recommendations!!!

My adult daughter and I stayed at Villa Toni for three nights at the beginning of our bicycle tour and again for two nights at the end. It was like 'coming home' when we returned. Tonci and Jessica were there to meet us when we arrived after a late evening catamaran journey and even ran across the street to make a last minute reservation at a very busy and popular restaurant on a Saturday night. Their hospitality and attention to ensure they can assist in any way possible is outstanding. The accommodation was perfect, with a kitchenette which we did use on one occasion. Villa Toni is within a five minute walk to the port, daily market, the Old Town and promenade. They were both able to provide many answers to our tourist questions and called ahead to reserve a lunch spot for us on the island of Brac. We were cycling on the island that day but the restaurant did not open until mid morning and reservations for Peka were essential. They also arranged our very early morning transportation to the Split airport and provided us with a packed breakfast/lunch. Thank you Tonci and Jessica for the perfect beginning and ending to our Croatian bicycle tour.
