We had our wedding at Hotel Piccolo Borgo on 14th of September 2019. Firstly I need to comment on the beautiful hotel. The pool was immaculate, the cleaning staff, chefs, bar staff and reception staff were amazing, everything was perfect! I stayed in a deluxe room with a jacuzzi! A jacuzzi! Very luxurious! What can I say about how this hotel managed my wedding? Amazing! the whole day went so smoothly, the food the atmosphere and especially the staff! Fabio the wedding coordinator was exceptional! Mario the owner went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect from the ceremony area to the reception rooms decoration. Table settings were perfect! This hotel never had an Irish wedding before and I really hope they enjoyed our traditions and dancing(like maniacs 😂). Finally I want to give a special thank you to everyones favourite barman Ahmed! He was so attentive, not just on the day of the wedding but for our entire stay. He looked after us as if we were his own family and I dont think the whole experience would have been as perfect if he wasn't there. Every single day he made each and every one of my wedding guests feel special in some way. Ahmed, you deserve a pay rise! I would recommend this hotel for any Irish event be it a wedding, birthday party or just to relax by the pool. I hope I haven't forgotten anyone but if I havent mentioned you know that you were a special part of our special day. ❤

After reading the reviews it’s safe to say we were dreading coming here, but after spending the past two nights at the hotel we’ve had a really good experience. The room looked and smelled incredibly clean when we came, all the facilities worked, air con could be easily managed and we even had a balcony. There was some wear and tear in the room but nothing major and there were no plugs near the bed - but nothing we felt the need to complain about! It was a nice, well equipped, clean room for our trip to Rome. Getting into Rome we found we could either walk 3 minutes to the bus stop and catch a bus direct to the colosseum for €1.50. Or we used the hotel shuttle bus to the metro and got a train into the centre for €1.50. The shuttle was reliable and the reception were happy to answer any questions when we rang. We didn’t eat at the restaurant as we ate out in Rome, however, the bar staff were fantastic - they always made sure we were seated and brought the drinks over to us rather than us waiting at the bar. Even when they were really busy with what looked like a business conference we were brought over drinks and snacks to nibble on. Staff were very helpful - even printing out some documents we had forgotten and helping us with directions. We had booked through wowcher holidays and whilst ideally, we would have preferred to be in central Rome this hotel was still lovely for our visit!

The hotel is decent for the price. We caught the free minibus to the Metro station each morning to get in to Rome. Very easy and took around 30 minutes from leaving the hotel. For the return, we used our 3-day travel pass to use the local bus to get dropped right outside the hotel. All very easy. The location of the hotel is on the Rome ring-road but there wasn't any noise from the traffic. Using the subways and walking paths, we were able to walk to local shops/restaurants/cafes, but there isn't many. The main reasons for staying here were we had driven, so needed parking and didn't want to drive into Rome and also to see a music concert at the Capannelle horse racing course. Although it was very close, it was impossible to walk to and from. Taxi is a must. In the hotel, the beds were comfy, the rooms were clean, the pool decent, the breakfast was suitable and the air con good. Overall, the hotel was good for what we needed.

The photos of the hotel looked very nice so our expectations of the hotel were quite high. The staff was friendly, the lobby was pretty and the free parking was really convenient. However, there were a lot more negative aspects. I have never written a review on a hotel before and I do not consider myself a particularly difficult person but I feel it is my duty to prevent people from thinking this is a four star-hotel and to overpay significantly. -First, we have been told by the staff that there was a metro station at 5 minutes walk when we called beforehand (one of the main reasons we booked this hotel). However, upon arrival they told us that it was much further and that we had to take a bus. As this was already quite annoying since we only planned on visiting Rome one day, we realized soon that the closest metro station was around 20 minutes away by car. - Since the A-C did not work in the first room, we asked to move to a different room. However, in the second room the A-C was the equivalent of someone blowing air in the corner of the room. As it can be very warm in Italy, it is not too convenient to sleep in a warm room. - The WiFi did not work in both rooms. The second room was actually in a different building which means that the probability of the WiFi working anywhere is relatively low (Only in the lobby it worked properly). -The only welcoming present in the room was a spider in the shower. The shower was not only covered in mold but was spraying water in more directions than the Trevi Fountain. - The breakfast looked delicious on the photos but was in reality very mediocre. The coffee even came from a Nescafé machine, which is punishable by death in Italy. -As a compensation for the non-working WiFi, the A-C and the misinformation about the metro, the front desk staff offered (very clearly against the will of the manager standing next to the receptionist)... a bottle of water. The objective of this review is not to insult the hotel nor the staff. I am a firm believer that TripAdvisor has an important function in decreasing the information asymmetry of Hotels. Therefore people need to know that the Appiah Park Hotel is absolutely not a four star-hotel in any regard and thus significantly too expensive. There are way nicer and more affordable hotels around and in Rome!

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel. Ideally located. Minutes from the airport. And a 5 min drive to Ciampino train station ( which is direct to Roma Termini for €1.50) Hotel looks a bit run down from the outside, but don’t let that put you off. Room a good size and clean. Beds comfy. Bathroom a little dated but functional. TV in room but no UK channels. Staff friendly. Breakfast basic but adequate. Didn’t eat in the restaurant but was always busy. Did have a drink in the bar, prices ok. Hotel have a shuttle service to the train station, which is good, if not a little over priced. And also to the airport. Would definitely stay there again when visiting Rome

An amazing place fully surrounded by a wonderful landscape in a fiabesque background. The staff is extremely polite and kind, always ready to fulfill your requests. In the ground floor of the casale there’s an excellent restaurant with several Roman dishes. But what’s most is that all this fiabesque place is at 5 min only from the downtown of Rome. A superb place to visit

We have not selected this hotel- we got great present from our friends- romantic weekend in Rome from ITAKA. And organizer didn't want to reveal the name of the hotel till the night before the flight- I know why :-) When we arrived big group of polish people have been leaving the hotel- there were a lot of people in the reception. When received our key we refused to take a room as it was not cleaned at all- owners gave us another accomodation- not clean either but they promised to correct it. I cannot see one good point of this place: Rooms are outdated, beds uncomfortable, old covers on the bed- it was terrible Bathroom was damaged- shower head not working Walls so thin you could hear people talking Breakfast- simply the worst- dinning room dirty- and what you could choose to eat was ham or cheese and some cookie. We did not try to eat there as food is Rome is amazing and you can eat super nice breakfast in the city Location, location, location- be aware you need to travel to the centre by underground 45 minutes

Perfect location, especially if you arrive from the train station, so you can directly leave your luggage and walk in the biggest open hair museum: Rome! The hotel is very modern and new! The twin bedroom was equipped with all the facilities and spacious and spot clean. The Staff and the property are very well prepared and following the new Covid safety procedures. A special thanks to the reception team, the super funny guy that welcomed me and my friend upon arrival and the amazing lady that was there upon check out. Keep it up with the great job and I’ll see you on my next visit, Ciao

Stayed here for 2 nights. Arrived late gone 10pm pleasantly surprised that the restaurant was still open lovely food. Also offered a snack menu if we wanted to eat after 10.30pm. Very lovely bar and chill out areasThe room was immaculate with a very decent bath and shower. Breakfast was continental but plenty of it. 20 minute bus ride into central of Rome. €12.00 euros ticket covers 48hours and can be used on all public transport. We used the bus, train and tram. Restaurants in Rome all charge for sides i.e. veg or salad etc. Eat in the ones way from the main attractions by a couple of streets. Wear trainers as you end up walking alot and pack a travel umbrella. Stayed 2 days and saw loads Night time was a magical atmosphere everything lit up.

Termini Central Station
Though the beds need to be updated, the room was big, and the location was perfect as it was close to the terminal. However, the city tax they charge was quite expensive. The hallway set up was a little confusing at first but not too bad. One hallway was a little creepy though; and the spa seems to open late and close early. The staff were nice and love the rooftop bar.

We travelled as a family of 2 Adults & 2 Children. Most part of our trip to Europe we were all in 1 room, however at Rome we had booked a quad room with connecting doors, and this was amazing for all family members to have a bigger space. Both rooms were spacious, clean, and modern. Beds & pillows super comfortable, wifi works great. In the main room there was an amazing space to do your make up each morning with a mirror and lights, lighting needs to be a little brighter but great to have own area. Breakfast was only 9€ and quite a big selection, both of my fussy eaters enjoyed! The waitress was lovely and kind. Walking distance to everything - we chose to walk over the city as everything is walking distance and you get to see more, however HoHo bus stops are close, and walking distance to Terminal train station. I would 100% stay here again, and recommend this hotel to anyone! Also a mention to the staff in reception, who were very kind with check out! Great hotel, stay here!

We were planning a stay in a Rome prior to our cruise and selected The Hassler due to its pre-cruise package - a great deal. We took advantage of the personal assistant at the airport and the hotel transfer and felt like VIP’s. Very welcome after our long overnight flight from the US. The assistant insisted on handling our bags for us and getting us through some airport construction to find our driver. All seamless. We spent 6 lovely nights at The Hassler in early Feb 2020. The staff were so friendly and accommodating from the time we entered the hotel treating us like frequent returning customers. We were fortunate to have a room overlooking the Spanish Steps and what a view! A very comfy bed, too. We enjoyed a few meals in Salone Eva and enjoyed great food and impeccable service. Such friendly staff who made certain we were happy with everything from our drink orders to our food. The buffet breakfast was really good, too, with a wide variety of selections and the same service in a beautiful dining room. So many friendly people who pampered us and made us feel like we were the most important people there. We loved their Amorvero body lotion and wish we could buy it online but unable to find it anywhere. Our transfer to Civitavecchia took us right to the cruise terminal and helped us get our bags dropped off with the handlers. All top notch service. We hope to return here in the future to enjoy the luxury of the Hassler. This was the best service we have ever experienced and heartily recommend staying at this hotel. You won’t be disappointed.

Monti
We stayed at the Monti Palace Hotel for a week in September. It is worth saying this was during the coronavirus pandemic so Rome was very quiet although case numbers in Italy were low. Firstly, the positives:- Location - hotel is right on top of the metro station which is very convenient. Note that you have to change at termini for several locations in central Rome. 20 min walk from Trevi fountain or pantheon, 10 mins to forum and colosseum. Small supermarket directly across the street and lots of restaurants in the local vicinity. We had good, cheap food at La Base, Ai Tre Scalani and Iari the Vino. Check in - we arrived at 12:30 and were informed the room was ready - much appreciated after an early start. We were told we had been upgraded to a superior room but that is the room type we had booked (and shows on our booking confirmation) No problem so we didn’t say anything but a bit odd to say we had been upgraded. We also requested a high floor to be away from the road noise and were put on the top floor for rooms. Room - room was a good size and overall very clean. The bathroom in particular was lovely. Housekeeping did a very thorough job each day. Air con was great and the bed was very comfy. But, see below the negative points The not so good things:- Breakfast - was included in our rate (not free included in the price!) it was pretty dire to be honest. I know with covid it is difficult but can’t understand why they couldn’t offer toast (we specifically asked on the form you fill in, in both English and Italian and were given bread), or why fruit such as a banana couldn’t be offered. We had the bacon one day - was the soggiest bacon I’ve ever seen and arrived in less than 2 mins so I assume was microwaved? Conversely the croissants are cold and from a packet. I understand it is a really hard time but I do think they could be doing better. The water and juice was good. Reception - usually very good but I did ask one member of staff if I could pay to print out some tickets for the colosseum we had booked last minute. He said only from 2pm which I thought was very odd (and too late for us!) seemed like he just couldn’t be bothered and his colleague would be on the desk by 2pm. The lift also seemed to smell really bad every time we used it. Light switches - the one anomaly in otherwise a very clean hotel. The light switches were filthy - really disgusting, looked like they’d never been cleaned and this applied to all of them - the two by the bed, the bathroom and by the main door to the room (pics attached). Storage - the room has been designed by a designer rather than by someone who has actually tried staying in the room! We had the largest size of room and it had one single wardrobe maybe 2.5ft wide - with a rail, and two shelves (there was another shelf but well out of reach). Half of one of the shelves was taken up by the safe. There was no other storage in the room other than open surfaces eg. table, bench by door. There wasn’t a si
