Centrally located hotel: 10,minutes walk from station, right next to shopping street, lots of restaurants nearby. Huge room with small hallway where separate toilet (very modern) is situated. Bathroom small, but adequate: triangular shower stall with good jet and plenty of hot water. Handbasin with 2 drawers underneath, mirror & shelf; hairdryer; proper towel rack. Bedroom itself has seating area, big desk and plenty of room to walk round. Two boxspring beds, comfortable matress, pillow not so good. Breakfast is served in the small lobby. Given that the space is not big, there is quite a good selection at the breakfast buffet. Cereals, different types of bread, various cut meats and cheeses, loads of the sweet stuff the Dutch love so much. Fruit juice from a carton and tinned fruit. Coffee machine and teabag selection. Friendly guy in reception.

I had the charity suite which was one of the most interesting rooms I’ve ever had. Moderate size, the whole sink outside the bathroom was a little weird but hey, that’s what makes manna stand out- it’s unique character. It was the opposite of everything I’ve been used too- check in was super strange having a waiter do it for me, breakfast was 2 doors down the road, the room was quite interesting- shower and toilet in one, sink in the bedroom. The steps and oh then a little more. And I wouldn’t want it any other way- that’s what made the hotel so interesting . The waiter who checked me in to the hotel did it way quicker than most hotels and with such a smile- he was literally thankful I chose manna. A waiter. What a nice guy.....and the uniqueness of the hotel made it such a great stay. The staff were one of the nicest and genuine I’ve seen. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stayed 5 nights in the top floor apartment with balcony, overlooking a tree lined boulevard, and in our case, with the sofa bed already set up to accommodate our third person daughter who was currently doing an overseas student placement at nearby Radboud University. Our room was spotless, as was the rest of the hotel, with efficient and friendly room servicing each day if required, and a self catering kitchen sufficient to prepare breakfasts and light meals. The hotel was just perfect for our needs, with a well stocked supermarket around the corner, and a location almost at the main gateway to the old town with numerous restaurants, cafes, shops and sites of interest all within easy walking distance. We were cosy, very comfortable and totally insulated from other guests, and there was very little external noise - we love our quiet and our room certainly provided that. John happily both collected us from, and dropped us of at, Nijmegen Station - and ferried our somewhat heavy luggage up the stairs - a much appreciated service plus. John, Lisa and his team were always friendly but unobtrusive, and quick to provide advice or information when needed. The recommendation to a fine Japanese restaurant a cab ride away made for a memorable 21st birthday celebration with our daughter - thanks John! Would not hesitate to stay at Hotel Oranjestaete again.

Arrived at the hotel after an overnight flight and a 11/2 hour, pleasant drive from Amsterdam. The hotel is located in one of the most commercial, tourist streets of Nijmegen, where you can find great coffee houses, super restaurants, close to the Waal River and the Walkaade and Casino. In an amazing coincidence, the owner is a good friend of an old friend of mine, now living in Thailand. The hotel is very, very quaint, exceedingly historical but also well appointed and very comfortable. Interestingly enough, we were not disturbed by rowdy Nijmegen party goers as was my recollection from a long time ago. The elevator is a n experience one must have while staying at the hotel. Across the street is a very good coffee shop and down the road, you'll find a great fish and chips staal as you enter the park. This hotel takes in one of the oldest houses in Nijmegen, dating back thundreds of years with immense windows and an expansive room. Truly pleasant

We stayed for one night, occupying the Water Room (Boat Themed) and the 1001 Nights (Arabian Themed) and had a splendidly unusual night! We were lucky enough to be there during unseasonably good weather and after check in, which consisted of introductions then being handed a room key before being shown to our rooms, we sat on deck taking in the sunshine and some light refreshments. In fairness, the rooms were smaller than the average hotel room but their Quirky decor more than made up for that! Each had an en suite & shower, however the Arabian room only had swing saloon doors but there are two separate toilets along the passage way should you need a bit more privacy! Breakfast was a continental platter with freshly baked rolls and we finished by drinking coffees on the deck. A memorable experience that we will probably talk most about after this trip.
