Hotels Near Porky S In Dusseldorf
0.19km from Porky sWe picked this hotel as it had good recent reviews, great location and we liked the luxury look of the building and rooms. We booked 2 suites next to each other. We arrived after a short (15 minutes) taxi drive from the airport and we were wowed by the beautiful reception area, paintings, artwork and a very large amazing Christmas tree. We made our own way to our rooms and again we were very happy with the suites. Very comfortable beds, luxurious shower, walk in wardrobe, walk in kitchenette area. We were short on one of the extra beds we had requested but a call to reception this was soon rectified. We unpacked and settled in for the evening for a good nights sleep as we had a fun packed Christmas weekend at the markets planned and needed our sleep after our delayed flight from the UK with our 3 children.....sadly we all had little to zero sleep. We were on the second floor facing the street which seems to be on a busy junction for taxis that beep their horns all night, actually getting worse from 4am until 7am when the noisiest night club in the world finally turns off its base and the clientele leave. (Noise from nightclub seems to start early evening until 4/440am!) It seems that those who don’t opt for taxis (beep beep beep beep) go onto parties in the very close area which on the Sunday morning we were here resulted in a large street fight with half dressed youths running and fighting through the streets finally being arrested by police. I know this is a city and you expect a certain level of noise but this was ridiculous and ruined an expensive trip for a family of 5. I’ve stayed in central Amsterdam and London and never experienced noise levels like this! We didn’t complain as we hoped night 2 would be quieter but it wasn’t. The hotel is beautiful, the breakfasts delicious but the street noise unbearable. Such a shame :( I’ve since looked more closely at the reviews for this hotel and it seems it is a well known issue affecting over 50 street facing rooms. Perhaps if the reception staff prewarned guests of this noise problem and provided ear plugs and perhaps discounting these affected rooms guests would not leave reviews like this. Our first trip to Germany spoilt by noise and sheer exhaustion.
0.19km from Porky sStayed here for one night in March on Sunday. The room is huge and has a lot of amenities including microwave, fridge, stove, dishwasher and a washing/dryer. The hotel is really quiet. Parking is underground with plenty of space. Breakfast buffet is included with plenty of selections. Workout room is relatively good with various exercise equipments including three treadmills. There are two TVs in the room. I tried the washing machine that also functions as a dryer. It is small (8kg for washing and 5 kg for drying). It takes time to get clothes dried (2 hours). Since those clothes are washed and then dried right away, most of them come out with wrinkles. Better to wash them first, then take them out first and put them back again for drying after straightening them. This will reduce the wrinkles. Also, just a fair warning about the machine. Sometimes its door can’t be opened (still locked). There is an instruction what to do in that case. If it still won’t open, call the receptionist for help. The hotel has a great location. 5 - 10 minutes walk to Königsallee. All hotel staffs are really helpful.
0.22km from Porky sI was dreading our arriving at this hotel ( my husband booked it) as I had read the terrible reviews on TripAdvisor. The room was very nice , it was on the 3rd floor up a steep staircase and across a balcony outside to get to our room... The room was huge ,had 4 windows in it as it was on the corner of the building, lovely and light so we could see the snow falling. The room was clean bright and lovely and warm with 3 central heating radiators. There were 4 beds in the room and only 2 of us. Little kitchen area Kettle & coffee machine. Nice compact bathroom ,lots of lovely white towels. Would have liked a chair in the room rather than having to sit on the bed. We stayed 2 nights as we were at the Boat Show. The Hotel was 2 minutes away from the Tube station, very handy for transport out and about . Near to the big wheel and the River..lovely The Hotel is in the Old Town which gets very busy at night time with people in the bars ,restaurants and clubs. One of the clubs is at street level under the Hotel. It was quite noisy from the music from the club. Some Earplugs sorted that out. Not impressed that the stairwell stank of cigarette smoke. Apart from that NO complaints at all. Very pleasant stay and will be back again .
0.24km from Porky sVery convenient in the old city center
0.25km from Porky sI spend a night at Düsseldorf and because airport is so reachable from centre were rather there than in airport hotel. Found out this small b&b and have absolutely nothing to compain. Was spending night at the top floor and at least there was so peaceful and quiet. Room was clean and really pretty with pink walls and breakfast so good. Perhaps I’d prefer little less soft bed but that was also okay. There is lots of stairs, that should be mentioned. Host was very helpful with everything.
0.36km from Porky sMy husband & I have just returned from 2 nights staying here. We've stayed here before & been happy with the service we received. This time? The service we received on checking in was possibly the worst we've experienced. Our booking informed us that check-in time was 2pm. We arrived early, left our bags with the staff as our room wasn't ready. We accepted this & said we'd return in an hour or so. We returned at just gone 2pm. Room still not ready, the receptionist couldn't tell us when it WOULD be ready, told to go into the bar for a drink & they'd come & get us when it was available. After nearly an hour, no one had approached us, my husband went back to reception to find out what was happening. Again, was told, your room isn't ready yet & that we'll come & get you when it is. At 4.10 we'd had enough! Returning to reception where the male receptionist was utterly flustered , neither made eye contact with us or made no apology for the huge delay. For a hotel claiming to be a 5 star hotel I'm afraid this level of service is 1 star at most. Totally disorganization with no explanation given to guests. As we checked out again today, checkout was again disorganised with long queues. My husband spoke to the lady today on the desk who did offer an apology. But nothing more. We had to pay for the drinks we had whilst waiting on Friday.... I'm afraid we won't be staying with you again.
0.46km from Porky sPros - -Everything very clean -Large room -Good location -Friendly staff Negatives -Concierge wasn't very proactive. I first asked for a restaurant recommendation by the river and was told to go to the Grill House which was no where near the river. Second asked to book a specific Thai restaurant. It wasn't available which of course isn't there fault. But I wasn't given any other recommendations and just told it wasn't available. I would have at least expected them to offer some suggestions proactively. - The Maître D' at the lounge/restaurant was quite rude. He wouldn't even let me up the steps until i showed him my room key even after explaining I was a hotel guest and was simply trying to get to room. He physically blocked my entrence. It was very off putting and not at all welcoming. He apologised once I showed him a room key. -Room technology is showing its age and not working correctly. Room is controlled by touch screens of which only 1/2 of worked when we checked in and the other broke on the last night. This meant we couldn't control lighting, curtains and air con, was offered a new room but didn't change due to being 10pm at night. We switched off the room manually using the switch board. This should be checked before guests check in. -Spa and Pool area is bookable at the moment so due to Covid. We booked an hour and slot and somebody else was using the facilitates at the time we booked. No one was manning the door and we didn't want to share a sauna so we left. -Breakfast restaurant was full and we had to sit out in the lobby. I am not sure if all the diners were hotel guests but it would have been nice to give in house guests priority seating first. -No self service coffee was available in the living room due to covid which is totally fine. It would have been nice if the staff member proactively offered coffees and tea as a replacement. Overall it was an okay hotel but nothing special. Having stayed at the Capella in Singapore It definitely doesn't live up to the same standard.
0.48km from Porky sEvery winter, we like to go away as a couple and leave the kids behind! This year it was at Hotel Favor in Dusseldorf. It is a small, ‘boutique’ hotel with around 36 rooms over 6 floors. It is at one end of the city’s shopping district and right next to the ‘old town’. Although all the main sights are within walking distance, there are lots of public transport options around, and many options for restaurants. The hotel has a modern, up-to-date, and well-kept feel. Everything was clean, with lovely thick carpet in the rooms. The ‘premium’ room we booked had a mini-bar with some soft-drinks and a beer that is included in the price and re-stocked daily. The room overlooked the square and the lovely Christmas market when we stayed. It was quiet, with minimal noise coming into the room, however the market started shutting down at around 9pm. Breakfast was a nice spread, with hot & cold options, and a relaxed affair. On the Saturday morning there was a great celloist paying some wonderful music. I’m glad we left the kids behind! Having stayed in a lot of chain hotels, like Hiltons, etc, I was very happy we didn’t do so this time. At the larger hotel chains, sometimes rooms can be dated, and not well-kept. Hotel Favor was perfect throughout, spacious, and I thought good value in comparison. One tip: we got a taxi to the hotel and spent a bit of time in traffic in the roads near to the hotel. I suggest getting out of the taxi early to walk or getting the train which we did on the way back. With trains it is around 30 mins from the airport, and with taxi around 20 mins. The taxi cost 32 Euros, and the trains around 6 euros for the two of us.
0.52km from Porky sAs a customer who stayed in this hotel many many times on previous occasions, not really happy with the measures taken by the management. I understand there is virus, but it does not explain why you no longer place a bottle of water in the room or fruit. Or when you ask for a kettle it comes without tea bags, which were always available in the room. The online checkin was a waste of time, as it didnt work on this occasion because the contract was not uploaded(?), room allocation wrong, as my wish for a quiet room was not taken into account. In addition I noticed that the temperature on the 3rd floor where I got my first room was extremely hot and felt like sauna, while it was 19 degrees outside ( this was similar to my previous stays in winter time but even then felt extreme). OVerall not good value for money if all the changes introduced during covid will not be removed.Very good location, but then there are plenty of other hotels much cheaper than melia offering a better value.

0.61km from Porky sHotel am Hofgarten is situated on a quiet street, a pleasant stroll, through the park, from the Altstadt, or alternatively one stop on the U-bahn or a couple of stops on the tram. It is convenient for the airport, a short tram and then a bus direct to the terminal. A relatively new initiative is free public transport as a guest of the hotel, which is very convenient and allows you to hop on and off all buses, trams etc - so you can get to the airport for free. This hotel was good value for money, the right side of town for the airport and very easily reached. We have stayed in a number of hotels in this area of town and are very happy to recommend this one, we will be back on our next visit to D-dorf.

0.69km from Porky sI stay in Dusseldorf often for business, and I must say this is the best hotel I've stayed in yet. The location is perfect! It is just minutes from the old town, easily accessible for restaurants, shops, and the like, and also a few metres to the river. Despite being so central, it's readily accessible from the highways, and takes no time to arrive with driving in minimal traffic. There's a parking garage next door, and the hotel has special parking rates, which is perfect. The hotel is comfortable, with relatively spacious rooms, very fast internet, and decent amenities. I couldn't get my air conditioner to work, but opening a window did the trick. The bathroom was spacious, and most importantly, the shower was plenty big enough... not smaller than my shoe like in so many European hotels. Breakfast was good with lots of options. There's no bar or restaurant, but this is not necessary being so close to the Alt Stadt. It was a very pleasant stay, and I think now I have found my permanent hotel in Dusseldorf.

satisfaction! Hotel parking is more expensive! 20 minutes walk from the train station and the city! There are many Europeans in the hotel. The parking lot is very convenient on the third floor and the large supermarket on the first floor is very convenient for life!
It’s very close to the airport and it’s a five-minute walk. It’s very convenient to take a rest for a night if you are connecting. There is a supermarket on the arrival floor of the airport, which is convenient for shopping. The hotel has a restaurant, but one was opened during the epidemic. The original Japanese restaurant is not open anymore. .
I had 25 people traveling in from all over the world for to participate in the Allegheny Technologies Incorporated Leadership Development Program for managers. I had several options available to choose from between Dusseldorf and Cologne and I'm thankful I chose the InterContinental Hotel in Dusseldorf. I worked with Miriam Roettger in the sales department for two months leading up to the event and she was so helpful. Working via email when there is a 7 hr. time difference, cultural differences and language challenges can be a bit overwhelming; however, Miriam made this seamless. I arrived ahead of my group and check in was very quick and extremely friendly. The rest of my group whom were flying in from all over Europe had their flights canceled due to bad weather. I worked with the hotel to ensure this delay wouldn't impact our participants when they were in deed to arrive. Management was wonderful to work and assured me our participants would have a room upon their arrival. Both Mohammed Bouskri and Thomas Krieger from the Concierge desk were outstanding to work with and very attentive to our needs. They helped arranged transportation from the airport for our participants, recommended restaurants and helped make reservations. I wouldn't have been able to provide such a world class experience for our leaders without the help of Miriam, Mohammed or Thomas. I'd be remiss if i didn't mention the front desk service, everyone was so nice, kind and helpful. A very wonderful experience from day 1.
The breakfast was good and the location was good, ten minutes walk from the main fire of Duse, the hotel is on the subway, but the room is really small, really small, really small! And the bathroom decoration is average! Obviously the decoration of other hotels in Germany for 60 euros a night! It's only good to look outside, we regret it when we enter the room! Really not worth the price!
Well located modern hotel near the Rhine and near the Fernsehturm, walking distance from the old city center of Düsseldorf. Quiet area, but still a lot of restaurants and fancy bars are close to the hotel property. Car parking under the hotel. Public transport available to take you to the Hauptbahnhof or elsewhere. Rooms are spacious and the bathroom with rain shower is trendy and big enough.
