The advt for this hotel shows the picture with a castle view from your window - no no no, the castle is about 4 Km far away and the view is possible lying down in your bed and stretching your neck a bit. So, no castle view. You need to have your car to go to the down town area. Apart from this little inconvenience, the hotel being run by an organisation that helps physically-mentally challenged people is worth all the praise. Good rooms, good beds, nice bathroom; but no in-room coffee/tea making facility. Very good breakfast buffet. Free parking and free WiFi. Support them even if it is a bit inconvenient from the city centre point of view.

Agreed that the hotel is in a good location. Beyond that it offers very few amenities for travelers. The brochure in the room has incorrect information and the front desk attendants don't have much information to offer either The restaurant was open only for breakfast and the in room info recommends the Tapas place next door - it would have been very useful to know they do not take credit there - only cash - which I did not have. The front desk does not change money and neither do the nearby banks and they also do not know where to direct you to change money This was a hard lesson learned for me. Also the night I went to Tapas I asked at front desk if the restaurant was open and I was told it was, only to find out that it was not open, still wondering how the attendant at the front desk did not know. Rooms are ok - mine had two different colors of paint on the walls as if they didn't finish decorating, overall not really anything appealing. The shower is ridiculously small - I am not a large person and every time I turned my elbow hit the handle and I was either scalded or frozen. The cleaning of the room was hit or miss - one day I came back to my 'clean' room to find the glasses I had used to drink my water and pop with the empty bottles still there. The soap in the shower was out and not replaced - I finally removed it from the holder and left it on the floor and then it got replaced. The WIFI only works in your room as it is connected through the TV - there is no WIFI in the lobby or restaurant. The breakfast did not change in the 6 days I was there - same items without any variety day after day. No coffee in the room is also a big miss for me - I read in the information provided that there is a machine 24 hours in the lobby - not true - there is no coffee anywhere but the restaurant and its not easily obtained to bring back to your room. If given the choice to stay elsewhere in Marburg I will - this hotel is in my opinion equivalent to a Motel 6 in the US and I prefer to spend my money at nicer establishments.

The hotel is quite near to the city centrum and to all the interesting sites of this lovely little town. All destinations in this city are reachable with short walks, starting from this hotel, so that you do not need to use the car. Its location is close to the Lahn river and is really quiet. Rooms are large and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and professional. The only drawback is the paid parking, quite unusual in my thirty years of experience as a traveler in Europe. Moreover, it is controlled with an automatic bar and tickets with no free parking for the first 15 minutes, as in many automatic car parks, but instead with an immediate payment for the whole hour, also if You just shortly enter to check-out the hotel and to load Your luggage. I'm not saying this because of the money, in fact I’m mostly doing business trips, where the company pays everything. I say this, because this treatment does not make you feel like a guest, but more like a customer to be exploited as much as possible. I would certainly not visit a hotel like this as a private individual.

The Dammühle in Marburg is a family-run hotel providing a rustic ambience. It offers individually decorated rooms that are equipped with many modern comforts. In the restaurant, guests may enjoy a rich breakfast buffet as well as seasonal and regional dishes for lunch and dinner. Moreover, free parking facilities are provided.

The Hotel is just 7 kms away from Marburg and is a Great Place to stay for a weekend. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. We had room 24 which was large, overlooking the garden. There was a sofa, free minibar and wifi. The bed were very comfortable and the room extremely clean. On the ground floor there is a free coffee machine which is brilliant. The breakfast buffet offers a huge variety and is really very good. We will definitely stay here again when visiting the region, great value for money.

Situated in a village o half-timbered houses, it is between the main road and railway line. It can be noisey if you have to have the windows open as I did as it was very hot and no air con. The hotel is about 300m from the railway station. The bedrooms are modern and quite spacious, for a single. The restaurant is very good with a typical German cuisine. The staff are friendly and helpful.
