|0.26km from city centerRooms were ok… nothing out of the extraordinary but it had a weird smell to it. The location is nice, it’s near condado area almost everything walking distance. AWFUL service. Since we came in we had problems to check-in and confirmed our reservation had the late check-out at 1pm since it was included. We had Late Check-out included and when we were about to check out, we told the lady at the front desk that our check out was at 1pm. She looked at us and said no it’s at 12pm but with a bad attitude. Then I told her that our stay had included the late check out. She then said with the same very bad attitude, “well if you said that at first”. Then my partner said well there’s a problem with organization because we said that at check in and she confirmed it. She then responded with even more attitude… “No the problem is communication” Honestly for being a “Hotel” it had a horrible customer service. Not recommended at all if you want a pleasant vacation.

|3.34km from city centerMy friend and I have traveled and stayed at dozens of hostels over the last six years. We're both very aware of our privilege and identity as Americans when traveling. We try to take up the least space possible and always offer to do our own cleaning if possible.. I say all of this to give context. When we arrived there was no internet and we immediately saw a cockroach. We shook it off, thought ehh that's hostel living, and kept it moving. The next day we were moved to another room. That room had leftover food, opened containers, and the bathroom was disgusting and flooded, hairballs everywhere. We were pretty disgusted but again, we kept it moving. That night we made friends with two other girls in our room and as we were falling asleep, a six-inch rat ran across the desk surface, parallel to my friends face, of our hostel room. We all got up and started cleaning and throwing away everything in the room that didn't belong to any of us, it was 80% of the things in the room. We hadn't opened two locker doors and when we did, we found them covered in rat feces. The next day I tried to tell the staff and three women came out and accused of me being an 'entitled b****' and told me that if i didn't like their attitude or how they were running things i could 'get my things and get the f*** out of there.' i was shaking, in complete shock and honestly kind of scared. they said 'It's not our jobs to clean up after adult women.' My friend and i grabbed all of our things as quickly as we could and got the hell out of there. don't stay here, the staff don't want you there so badly that they will forcibly kick you out, and also it is very dirty.

|0.8km from city centerWe loved our 1 night stay here. Our room was quite large and perfect for our family of 4. The location was central allowing us to easily walk around the area. The decor through out was fun, colorful and had some intresting details. There is lots of roof top seating and great views of the surrounding area. The staff here is great and our check in was a breeze. When we were a little lost trying to find our room a gentleman came to our rescue and escorted us to our room even helping us with our luggage! Unfortunately for me I woke up the next morning with an issue with my eye. I needed to get medical help immediately. The woman at the front desk was a huge help locating the right doctor for me to go to and spoke directly with the office to explain my situation. Sadly I did not get her name but she saved the day!

You can tell is a spot for couples, since we found rose petals and left over belongings from the couple staying prior to us. I wouldn't rule out they can be great hotel, but needs better quality services for their price, cleanliness and feel of the Mediterranean decor we were looking forward to. Adjacent OLV hotel helps a lot with the experience and makes for the lack of experience at the boutique hotel portion.

|1.21km from city centerEverything my wife and I wanted to see and do in Old San Juan was within easy walking distance so this hotel is really in an ideal location. We liked the look and feel of the property especially the grand staircase and covered veranda area in front of the rooms. The open air nature of the property really highlights the warm temperatures and encourages you to sit outside and enjoy the environment. We found our room to be comfortable and clean. The bathroom was modern and the shower was large with good water pressure. The room could use more light and the bathroom lighting is equally dim. All the employees were encountered were very helpful and friendly. Make sure to ask for restaurant/bar recommendations. The front desk also arranged for a taxi to take us back to the airport. During our two night stay, our bathroom towels consisted only of large bath sized towels and while we asked about smaller hand towels, none ever appeared. Also the shower door leaked a large amount of water on the bathroom floor - - more annoying than a problem. The message light on our phone blinked from the moment we arrived and despite our efforts to retrieve/delete voicemails, the light continued to flash. I asked the very friendly gentleman at the front desk but he was not sure what to do and when we checked out, the message light was still flashing. These items were too minor to impact our stay and my wife and I would completely recommend this hotel. One word of advice - we enjoyed a couple of beers at the hotel restaurant/bar and were a bit shocked that each bottle of beer was $10 but at least it was cold !! We did not return to the bar/restaurant as there are a great number of nearby places to drink and dine.

|0.16km from city centerWent to this hotel this morning to enjoy breakfast like had on Sunday morning (Very Good) while charging my phone and waiting in the lobby A Gentlemen Named “Melvin” hotel staff member (refused to give me his last name ) said to me in a very arrogant manner that I could not sit down n the lobby area that’s was completely empty bc I was not a guest at the hotel. Mind you that I’m waiting for a friend to have breakfast. I proceeded to the bar area to order some breakfast bc apparently you can be on the property if your not consuming I ordered breakfast. Feeling completely humiliated and uncomfortable about the Melvin’s additude and approach towards me I ask the bar tender what the gentleman last name. Melvin noticed I pointed to him and proceeded to walk over to me and say we have you in observación if I don’t like what I see I will kick you off the property. I felt completely disgusted/ and humbled by the way Melvin spoke to me that is not how you treat a paying customer. Management needs to do better there are ways to communicate a message or policy without being rude and be littling another human being.

I am a very patient and friendly person who has worked in the service industry and understands how important it is to be nice to hard-working people. At breakfast, I watched three tables come in after me, get serviced, and receive their food before I even got a cup of coffee brought to me and had my order taken. I finally had to go to the waiter stand and ask for my bill so I could pay in leave. Our room never got serviced for cleaning for an entire day even though we were out of the room from early morning till 4 o’clock. I just went to the bar and sat and was ignored by a waiter who helped people on either side of me. I finally got up and left after 30 minutes of saying hello, making eye contact and basically got ignored. I am checking out early and heading to another hotel. I had booked a full week here at the Ocean club. They seem to cater to everyone else around. Perhaps they do not want to encourage white middle age guys staying here. They may want to cater to the younger European crowd.

It was the most delicious breakfast during Puerto Rico. The room was very clean. Kitchen facilities are available, and the restaurant is stocked with tea, coffee, desserts and bread throughout the day. Very recommended!

|0.72km from city centerUnfortunately, the high expectations I had for this place were lacking. First of all, I booked a deluxe room which included a TV in the room, sofa bed and was supposed to have its own entrance and privacy. As per the instructions on Hotels.com it stated that I should contact the property at least 24 hours in advanced for check-in details. I did just that and was met with a return message stating that I would receive the information prior to check-in on the day the reservation was to begin. Nevertheless, I didn't receive it until 4:15pm, mind you that the normal check-in times, as posted, are 3pm-10pm. Not only did I receive the check-in details about 1-2 hours late but also received a phone call with some confusing information. The lady informed me that my room had supposedly been ”overbooked” by the system and that my room wasn't available for my stay. That they would award me a room inside an ”apartment”, which is usually reserved for Airbnb and as compared to the deluxe room I had booked, included a larger space with a kitchen and other rooms which would be closed. I didn't really need a kitchen since I wasn't planning on cooking etc and was definitely skeptical and thinking how that happened since I had reserved the deluxe room days in advance and wasn't contacted for it at all. No other option was offered to me and I decided to go with it and give it a try... Unfortunately, upon arrival my skepticism was met with reality. All the access gates for the property are open, no locks, meaning anyone can enter the property at any given time. The only actual room which was open inside the ”apartment” didn't have all the amenities as the one I booked and the entire ”apartment” didn't have a single TV. Moreover, there were other people's belongings inside the room, ”apartment” and balcony, which in fact had a seating area but the cushions had been removed so it was useless. Another person's sandals, lighter and more surprisingly contraceptive pills were visible upon arriving. I found this to be unacceptable, specially during these times. I didn't feel comfortable and actually questioned the cleanliness and infection control, given that clearly no one had verified the lodging area and took care of the items which I previously mentioned. I felt unsafe at this time, not knowing if there was other people with access to the ”apartment”, given the fact that there were other people's items left in plain view. I contacted the property regarding the findings upon arrival and I didn't receive a response. I was confused about what to do since I definitely didn't feel safe and didn't know how to proceed since there's no front desk in the property. I never heard anything back and decided to vacate the property and seek lodging elsewhere. That meant having to pay for a hotel elsewhere and spend an additional quantity of money than we were expecting but it was a decision I made with my partner because ultimately we didn't feel safe!!!

There is no option to include breakfast in the booking. You can only add it to the hotel. The breakfast buffet is small, and the taste is more suitable for Americans. However, there are 24-hour fast food restaurants nearby, Starbucks, the best Chinese restaurant new taste. The front desk is polite and the pool security is polite.

Located in difficult area to get to; requiring clerks to need to direct you there after driving around for an hour trying to navigate the way there. Very old building with poorly designed rooms and terrible views overlooking delapidated surrounding structures and buildings . Charged $13 per day to park across the street where the desk clerks had to let you in/out of gate with a remote that they controlled while guests had to cross a busy street to get to their car. No coffee, no breakfast, no bar, no pool! Very inconvenient!! Worst place I ever spent good money on!!! Do not stay at this hotel!!!

|0.49km from city centerThe staff rated an A++ and saved my trip to PR.. No thanks to airline cancellations, both my arrival and departure were delayed. Thankfully, the front-desk staff was super helpful in arranging my accommodations, esp when I had to spend an extra night in PR. The hotel is in a very good location, just off the beach in Condado - thus it's not quite a beach hotel. It is very quick from the airport and literally across the street from the beach. There are many restaurants nearby (and bars) but the nearest supermarket is about a 15-minute walk (there are convenience stores / pharmacies nearby). It's also very close to the ”lagoon” - a nice place to walk. The hotel itself is nice, nothing fancy. I had two different rooms - the AC was a little noisy in one of the rooms, but both ACs worked very well (important in hot / humid PR). There was no external noise but there is a little internal noise (doors opening, e.g.). The rooms are very well cleaned (and disinfected) and the fridges, irons, showers all worked well. The WiFi was very good in both of the rooms. There were plenty of outlets for recharging. Breakfast was average. The coffee was very good. They have different pastries each day and some of them were very good. The price was pretty good for the area, but Condado runs on the expensive side. I would stay here again.

|0.82km from city centerWe stayed at the Fortaleza for two nights during our family holiday. There were 3 bedrooms with plenty of space for all six of us to have some privacy. The kitchen was huge and we prepared 2 delicious family dinners there. There are balconies overlooking the old San Juan streets. There are many sites, shops, restaurants within walking distance so the location in Old San Juan is perfect for those that want to stay close to the accommodation. We arrived early in the morning and we were able to store our luggage for the day while we walked around town. The downside is the parking is not onsite, but it is in a garage within walking distance.

However, the so-called sea view room that was given to the store through Ctrip is a room in a room, and the TV wall of the other room is the bedside of our room. And mentioning it doing check in, we were given a couple of Birthday drinks to redeem before we left the hotel to celebrate the occasion. Thanks Sylviani & Sabilya. Awesome & Professional at all times! The staff treated us well. I liked the fact that the hotel provided shuttle service to and from Old San Juan & to one of the close by beaches. Our view from the 5th floor was great also. We could see the pool & the water fountain across the street. They were both beautiful with the different colored lights at night The location was great, and a lot of things to do within walking distance. T-Mobile district was a 2 minute walk. ******, 5 minute walk. Make sure you get pictures in front of the I love PR sign that's close by. Thanks again and hope to see you soon!

I was always greeted in such a friendly way, and the rooms were always cleaned and well maintained by the excellent housekeeper, Edwin. He was so kind and gave great recommendations, and kept the bathroom and room very well maintained and clean. Dinelys and Nina were both so helpful and welcoming, especially since it was my first time in a hostel. I enjoyed my first time so much that I came back for another 4 nights a few days later! And thank God I did, i met some incredible people on my return visit! The rooftop is wonderful, and I felt very at home. The beach is a quick 6-10 minute walk away, and there’s plenty of food and shops around. Will absolutely stay again the next time I’m in San Juan! 🤍🤍

If there were 3-4 people, we could put a double bed on the wall of the room. The hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from the Atlantic Ocean, but the beach here is relatively large, and those who like surfing can surf.

|2.17km from city centerThe second hotel of choice for San Juan, Hyatt Place is a business hotel across the street. Closer to the Old Town of San Juan, less than ten minutes by car. There are not many places to eat around the hotel, but there is a big WalMart in a six or seven minute drive. The room has a kitchenette, tableware and pots, and condiments are simple in configuration.
The hotel is relatively new, the environment is not large and delicate, the swimming pool is relatively small behind the hotel, other entertainment gyms, and game rooms are also available. Parking is relatively large, around $ 16 a night.
Good breakfast, although not many varieties, but clean. The overall cost is relatively expensive, and various taxes are equivalent to about 3500 a night when checking out, which is not cost-effective.
