The toilet is too small, especially the shower, the water is easy to overflow, making the toilet all water can not be discharged. Just a few steps from the train station

The location is very good, directly on the annex of the central railway station. The service is very formal. Bicycles can be rented for 125 days. If the place to go is loose or flexible, it is very suitable. Single room, small house and simple facilities. But it is enough.

The flight was delayed, the hotel arrived in the early morning, the front desk was very nice. Because I dragged two big boxes, it was very hot when I arrived, and my face was red, and I specially sent a small fan to the room, because the Danish hotel is not air-conditioned!

The bare minimum, the lowest of the lowest expectation and delivery of a hospitality service is to ensure that the guests have a place to sleep. This is what DanHostel failed to deliver and refuse to take full responsibility and compensate. If you choose DanHostel due to location being close to city center, you got to really love the streets, because you might end up sleeping there! A stay at DanHostel will end up costing you more, both financially and emotionally. We were supposed to stay for 2 nights, but our room cards suddenly stopped working on our second night. Their reception close at 9PM, with no emergency number or any visible information for how to get in contact with the staff. The management are either arrogant or just plain stupid to believe that no errors/emergencies will not occur at their property between 9PM – 730AM. And if it does, they just don’t care enough to pay staff to be on call in case. We couldn't access the front door (another guest was kind enough to let us in) and neither our rooms. So, there we were, 10PM in the evening, nowhere to go, all our stuff is locked inside the rooms and no staff to get in contact with. To avoid sleeping on the streets, we had to find the nearest property to sleep as we were approaching midnight. To be honest, we were tired, stressed, desperate and just took whatever was near. Fast forward, I had to send multiple e-mails, made multiple unanswered phone calls, and contacted Booking.com who chased them before finally getting in contact with management. When speaking with the management they admitted to the error being their fault, as the receptionist only added 1 night to the room card. Despite admitting the guilt, they keep refusing to reimburse for the full additional cost, leaving me having to pay the cost difference out of my own pocket… for their failure on deliver a service that their whole business model is relying on!! No reason or logic was behind this other than “we care more about money than our guests”. If you wonder what I am asking for here, I am happy to elaborate. The total cost of our stay at DanHostel is 3635,6 DKK, our emergency stay at another property is 4785 DKK. The management thought this is some kind of negotiation and started the offer of only reimbursing for one night which meant I needed to pay 3321,2 DKK extra out of my own pocket. I barely reasoned with them to pay back the total stay at DanHostel which still leaves me with an extra cost of 1149,4 DKK. At this point, it isn’t even about the money anymore. It’s about running a decent business with ethics and dignity. Everybody makes mistakes, but you cannot not assess your risks and when mistakes are made not take full responsibility. Leaving a guest with any additional cost indicates that the guest carries some of the responsibility, which is such a weird way to make your guests feel. This is one of the most disrespectful, bizarre and unprofessional way I have ever seen anyone run a business.

My main quibble with the stay was that the rooms seem to vary quite a lot in quality. I believe we booked the last available room, so perhaps we were stuck with the worst room, but it wasn't cheap (we paid something like 200 euro a night), and for that price, the third-floor rooms are not a great value. The bed was a double bed, which was pretty cramped for my tall husband, and the room had a slanting ceiling under an eave. There was no bathtub (which other reviewers described in their rooms), and the room was small and not pleasant to be in because there simply wasn't much space for two people. The courtyard is a lovely place for a drink at night, with a fountain and tree lights, and breakfast was good though they automatically bring you an egg with bacon cooked into the bottom of it without inquiring if you are vegetarian. Breakfast also includes a bread basket, yogurt, and a quite nice cheese and fruit plate. Location-wise, you are quite close to DOKK-1 but about a 10-minute walk from the Latin Quarter. There is parking on-site, but you need to pay an extra fee. If you can get a nice room NOT on the third floor, then I would say that the breakfast and the courtyard make this a lovely option, but if the only thing available is on the third floor, then it may not be worth the money.

I’m staying in this hotel most of the time (90%) when driving to/from Norway. It’s about 2 hrs drive away from the Hirtshals ferry port so the locations fits well to the colorline.com ferry schedule. When traveling to Norway I leave it about 0900, just after breakfast. When traveling back, I’m there about 2200. So both ways it’s very convenient. The hotel also offers underground parking, which is locked for the night, so it’s also very convenient as you don’t have to worry about your stuff left in the car, I leave most of my luggage there as I’m staying for a night only. Not that a risk of break in to your car is high in Denmark, but still it’s even lower when you leave your car in this garage ;) oh! and it’s free of charge too ;) The hotel itself is very Scandinavian - clean, nice design, kind staff, good breakfast, etc. Self check-in, including your parking is huge advantage. I highly recommend this place! Btw: There are some places to eat nearby, I recommend Turkish (?) restaurant across the street.

Good breakfast, geographical location in the city center, just beside the bustling canal, take the bus and get off for ten minutes. I am arriving at 1 o'clock in the evening (Figure 3), 24 hours front desk, the street is full of people. There are 7-11 shops, coffee shops, and shopping malls around. It is very convenient. There are two people, suitable for taking children. This is my breakfast at a nearby coffee shop. It is delicious. It took 100 years to go. The store is only 90, or self-service, which is more cost-effective.
