The rooms were clean and comfortable. Unsurprisingly, the pillows were exceptionally AWFUL. The breakfast was pretty standard to a normal chain hotel with the exception of an omelet bar, unfortunately, it was $12.99. Two things made this hotel undesirable. First of all, we were booked for a two-night stay. Due to travel delays, we did not arrive until 5:00 am on what would be the second day of our stay. However, since our reservation was for two days had to pay a $20.00 daily parking fee coming to $40.00. Secondly, as it is in Chicago in February it was very cold out (around 20 degrees). The Hotel locked down the front doors, only allowing patrons to enter through the rear doors of the Hotel and one small door in the side of the lobby. Do you have any idea how difficult and inconsiderate it is to be forced to push two luggage carts full of luggage and bags into an exceptionally small door that was not made for such uses? It was as if the hotel was not made for winter Chicago weather. Overall it’s a decent hotel; close to Midway airport that likes to “nickel-and-dime” you.

My wife, son, and I were in the process of moving from our Ravenswood apartment to Atlanta, GA. We choose this hotel as I am a Titanium Elite member and we had a cat with us. From the getgo the staff showed they cared by helping to watch my son while my wife and I moved our 8 pieces of luggage. Upon realizing I had made my reservation mistakenly at the Courtyard they not only took us in, but called Courtyard to cancel. The room was lovely and we slept much better than we would have at our empty apartment. Really helped make things great for the flying leg of the trip the next day. I recommend staying here

I recently stayed in this hotel as I had a reservation at the Fairfield inn but they sent us to the Courtyard. It seems the Fairfield and the Marriott are close due low occupancy The good - clean room - Requested an upgrade (as Platinum)and even though I had confirmed over the phone an upgrade to an executive room with two double beds and a sofa bed, I was told at check in that doesn’t exist at this hotel and we were given a king size bed and sofa bed. A little inconvenient but not a big deal. - Bed was so comfortable. Love the pillows - Sofa bed wasn’t bad it all - Housekeeping was nice to bring in extra towels and bedding for sofa bed. - No coffee machine in the room but you can get one at the lobby and is perfectly sanitized The bad - Marijuana smell in the elevator, hallway and room! We had to open the balcony to get that smell out of there. It gave us a headache - No microwave as you would get in the Fairfield - No welcome water bottles - I called 2 days before arrival to get more info and I was told no breakfast but I could get a Starbucks discount (as replacement for Platinum breakfast) , no true it all but you get a to go bag with a muffin, a bottle of water and an apple. Starbucks is very close by as well. I was told also that $18 parking was voided for platinum. Believe me I am ok paying $18 in Chicago for parking but it upset me that they gave me wrong information. When I mentioned that to the evening guy he said, he has no idea who I talked to because none of his members would say something like that. I was just nicely giving a suggestion to improve customer service and he ended calling me a lier? Not cool! - Customer service at front desk was nice. Lovely ladies at check in and check out even they were super nice clarifying the misunderstandings. I cannot say the same for the evening gentleman

We have stayed twice over the weekend, most recently the weekend after Thanksgiving. Both times, we were pleased to have the same Sunday breakfast attendant. She provided outstanding service, keeping the buffet well stocked and hot, greeting guests as they were enjoying the food, and wiping down both the tables and the buffet area so all areas were clean at all times. So very friendly! Please recognize her for her exceptional customer service!! Unfortunately, we received disappointing was the front desk customer service on our last trip. When we reported cleanliness issues in the elevator and hallway, we had meant to prompt a response to resolve these issues. Instead we got a blank stare and no concern/apology at all from the front desk attendant. Even one poor customer service experience makes a huge difference. Unsure whether we will come back. The Sunday breakfast server is the biggest draw to return.

This is a good stop before a morning flight. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are clean, a good size. and they are exactly as expected for a Marriott. There is an on-site restaurant, as well as a couple of restaurants within easy distance. There is also a comfortable lobby and bar. We had a morning flight after a long couple of days and did not want a long drive in rush hour traffic, so we decided to spend the night before close to Midway. I’m glad we chose this hotel.

Anna have amazing service to my husband and I at Coach’s. She allowed us to sample drinks before ordering something we had never tried. She also recommended her favorites and also gave us a sample of the Gouda sauce for the nachos. She went above and beyond with a smile while being incredibly busy on Monday Night Football! Way to go, Anna! What an asset to this establishment. 😊 We had a rough day traveling with terrible customer service and Anna was a breath of fresh air!

My husband and I stayed at the Skylark this fall; we had an early flight out of Midway and didn't want to have to leave our house in the middle of the night to make our flight. The Skylark provided exactly what we were looking for: a clean, comfortable room, free parking right outside our door, reasonable price, and location -- location -- location! The motel is not quite 2 miles from the parking lot we had selected, so we were able to get a good night's sleep, and leave for the airport at a reasonable hour. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was larger than expected and had good lighting. Even though we were right off the street, we didn't experience noisy conditions (the aircraft taking off were noticeable, but after 11:00 pm, this was not an issue). I would stay here again.

1. Marriott members can use Wifi for free. This is no problem, but the front desk should invite customers to become members. It is not for us to call in the room. 2. Bellboy did not mainly provide help with moving luggage. 3. Every day the cleaning staff knocks on the door and then enters the room. The root door has no time to react and she comes in. Security and addiction are extremely poor. 4. There is no kettle in the room. In the -12 degree weather, you need to call the guest service to have hot water to provide warmth. 5. The room is large and tidy, because it is too close to the opposite building, so there is no landscape. The whole experience is not to live in the JW series, but a 3 star hotel.

The hotel has a good location, just beside Michigan Avenue, and convenient to all major attractions in Chicago. The hotel environment is also very good. It is quiet and clean. The space is large enough. There is sufficient hot water supply, but there is no hot water to drink. We brought our own heat The most distinctive feature of the kettle for boiling water is the hotel’s robots, which can deliver water and daily necessities, which are available on demand, great! We did not have breakfast at the hotel, but there are many restaurants around, which are very convenient. The waiters in the hotel are very good and the service is very warm and thoughtful. Our trip felt very good, the price was affordable and the process was comfortable!

Business trip, the hotel is 20 minutes walk away from the meeting place, very convenient, the hotel is fairly clean, hot water is provided. The location is next to the Netherland Theatre, a few hundred meters away from the Millennium Park. The location is good. The large 34 square meter room is spacious. Prepaid is good. This hotel is a fine property - but it is NOT set up for people who have cars and intend to valet them. There is no provision for anywhere to stop and go in and check in, no signs indicating that if you are going to valet that you need to drive to another street, and no valet attendants on station when you get there. I have no idea how the management of this hotel has process mapped the customer experience when using the valet is concerned. We got to the hotel location at about 8:00 p.m. and there are obviously not going to be any spots as far as street parking anywhere near the hotel to even be able to walk in. So, having gone around the block twice, I finally decided to pull in to where there was a sign for a valet for another Marriott property (Residence Inn). There are no signs there saying what you should do, nowhere for a car to be parked to wait, and no valet attendants there. Finding my way into the hotel I told the person at the desk that I had a car to valet and she absolutely jumped into the situation, went outside, and coordinated with the valet and ultimately got things under control. However - while this was going on there were people coming up to my wife who was in the car and telling her that if she didn't move it from the alley behind the hotel that they were going to tow the car. As a customer, it appeared to me that that had been not a single thought given to "So, when a guest comes in with a car to valet - what do we expect them to do?" Leaving was a very similar unpleasant experience. I called down at 12:40 to have my car brought around and was told it would be 20-30 minutes. We went down to the lobby a few minutes after one, and were told where the valet staff would come in when the car was there. 20 minutes later (40 minutes after we called down) a valet attendant came in looking for another car that I could hear the front desk staff had taken a call for while we were waiting downstairs and when I asked the valet attendant about mine, he said "Oh, I'll take care of it." So it appeared that my call had never been relayed to the valet staff. At 1:30 (50 minutes after I called down for it) I had my car. The hotel is nice enough, and I'll be the first to admit that as a guy in his 50s with a car, I'm probably not their target demo. I get that it's located in as urban an area as you'll find, and that parking is really, really tough. So just communicate to me that "You know, this might not be the best fit for you if you're bringing your car." That way if I decided to still do so, I'm the one making that call. But either way - if you are going to offer valet parking at your location, it seems to me that you have to put some thought into how your guests are actually going to - you know - USE it. That's the only complaint I have - but it provided a lousy experience both checking in and checking out, and thus taints the entire stay there. If I ever were to return, I would only do so if I didn't have a ca

I had booked a last minute trip to Chicago's Virgin Hotel to spend some time with my daughters. From the first minute we walked in the service was impeccable. This continued throughout our stay everytime we walked in or out of the hotel (many times). The location was perfect to shops, restaurants, Riverwalk, beautiful architecture, and many other visual attractions. The only downfall to our visit was it was Covid season and many restrictions to places we could go to watch the football game and/or eat as the restaurants were all closed in the hotel. That was a safety issue for the guests so it was appreciated they weren't open. The one thing I'd recommend is for them to have a list of what was open nearby and what was offered (dine-in, delivery, take out, etc.). We were able to find places on our own, but it would have saved us the time from searching/calling around. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel!!

I can't even say enough about how great the Moxy in Chicago was! We arrived way before our check-in time because we had an early flight. Since our room was not quite ready yet, they held our bags for us while we walked around the corner to get a bite to eat. They had our room ready for us at noon which I believe was 4 hours before our actual check-in time. The atmosphere was fun and casual, which was right up our alley. There are games scattered around on the tables which I thought was fun and there is a 24 hour taco joint attached to the hotel as well. I think I tried almost all of the taco choices and they were great! Kylie at the front desk is so sweet and helpful and so was Ellen, the assistant manager. The bartenders were super fun and always willing to give a suggestion on things to do. When we travel, we typically like to see what the locals enjoy doing and every suggestion they gave us was spot on!! I really wish I could remember all of the bartenders that helped us, but I remember Brandon and JJ right off the top of my head. We will definitely be back to the Moxy next time we visit Chicago!

Recently spent two nights here on a college trip with my daughter. Chose this because i was looking for a place in a neighborhood outside the tourist areas, that was cheap, and relatively well reviewed. Pros: Regular neighborhood outside the tourist areas. Relatively new. Funky sports theme. Fairly inexpensive. Parking outside at not crazy price. My teenage daughter dug ther funky vibe and cafe in the lobby. Content teenager is kinda cool. Cons: Small rooms. This is true of any place in Chicago. We had bunk full beds -- it was fine for two, but would've been crowded fsoor three or more. Housekeeping was odd. When we got in our room their were fitted sheets on the bed but the flat sheets were just folded and left at end of bed. So we had to make the beds. Second night they took away the flat sheets and put on 2nd fitted sheets. Had to call for new flat sheets and make the beds again. The housekeeping thing fits with the general "upscale youth hostel for families" vibe. If you want skyline views, this isn't your place. It's two stories bordered by an alley on one side and the El on the other. Our room faced the alley...we could hear the El but it wasn't a problem. I'd consider staying here again if I was coming back with my teens who would line the non-traditional vibe. It's clean, new and a good option outside the typical high-rise tourist haunts with overpriced parking.

I was recently staying here for a wedding. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfy. It was perfect for what we needed it for and we all slept very comfortably. Best of all, I had family things come up and needed to leave a day early, I did have advanced notice but Expedia fooled me into thinking I could get the last day taken off, but they never processed my request. I know that sounds bad, but the owner stood up for me and refused to charge me for the last night since I was checking out early n before 11am. He was so helpful, and knew that if he didn’t charge me for the night, they couldn’t force me to pay. Thank you so much Heart O’ Chicago and Jawed Imtiaz. You saved me almost $100. The traffic is extremely convenient, just a few minutes walk from the commercial street, Coach UGG LF and so on. Because it is located near the commercial street, it is very lively at night. Don't worry about being too late to come back. (Of course, given that Chicago's law and order is not so good, you still need to go back to the hotel earlier.) There is a Starbucks on the first floor of the hotel, but it is recommended opposite the hotel. The local coffee and breakfast shop, very good, there are many things, we only want to go there to eat breakfast on the day we left, I feel that it is a mistake to go without the first day. The hotel and Ctrip occasionally have a special level of treatment, this time I met, set a double room, the bed is very spacious, the room is very comfortable! Although the reservation is that there is no wifi, but it is actually full coverage, if you need high-speed wifi to pay, in my opinion, the ordinary is enough, send mail to watch the video is no problem. We only have good things to say about this hotel! I know it's Covid and all, but we're kind of getting used to how hotels are run nowadays. First of all, the location is perfect. It's close to the Magnificent Mile, Lake front trail, River Walk, etc. We parked using an app and chose to use The Streeter Garage on Ohio street. It was just a couple minutes of a walk. We chose this garage because it was the cheapest covered garage near by. Overall the hotel was very clean and comfortable. The pool was closed which was a disappointment to our son, but most pools are in Chicago at this moment. You do have to reserve a spot to use the workout facilities, but we did not find this to be a problem. I'm a runner and prefer to run outside, but we lacked the proper clothing for the chilly morning. However, I found the treadmill to be very nice. And the stunning views made up for running indoors! As for the room itself, the bed was very comfortable, the TV was surprisingly big, and the bathroom was quite modern with a nice shower head. Overall we felt quite blessed to have found this gem of a hotel. We will definitely be back in the future!
