The staff were lovely , helpful.we left a camera behind and two months later we asked them if it was left, to our amazement they found it and posted it home to Australia There were lots of choice for food and dining around the hotel and a coffee machine in the breakfast area could be used any time.the only issue may be the lack of air conditioning in a hot summer Thanks again for a very pleasant stay in your hotel in a beautiful city !

And all the toiletries are for two people. After negotiating with the front desk, I said that I am embarrassed to clean up the mistakes. Then I found a circle and said that I was too embarrassed to be quilted. I can only use the spare blanket in the cabinet! We asked for two sheets to look for. The attitude of the younger brother is good, but it is helpless, and we are speechless. In addition, the room had a pungent taste of decoration (or the smell of carpet cleaner) and opened a night window. Experience the worst hotel on this trip!
0.37km from RavigoteThis hotel has undergone a bit of a refurb in the two years since I was last here, and sadly the work is continuing, so it was all a bit ‘makeshift’ in the reception area on our visit. The staff are pretty good, though, and the lady on reception particularly skilled when it came to ordering, cancelling and organising what became a pretty chaotic sequence of taxis. That said, the long queue at reception, especially at check-out times, was unimpressive and leaves a poor lasting impression. The bar service is good - we were still being served at 2am - and the rooms are perfectly fine (and reasonably-priced, esp if you book far enough in advance). Biggest black mark though is that, when we asked at reception, we were told that we hadn’t booked breakfast (so we didn’t bother taking it at the hotel) - when we checked our records afterwards they revealed that we had in fact booked, and paid for, breakfast). Clearly, in all respects, this hotel is still something of a ‘work in progress’.
0.42km from RavigoteSince I came to Lyon to the lumiere festival and knew I’d stay up the whole night, I booked and paid in advance for the late check out (to leave by 16:00 if I remember well). When I checked in, the receptionist asked what time I would leave. I said I didn’t know. She told me to give an approximate time. I said maybe 14:00 and that I would see. And asked her if there was any problem if I left later than 14:00, she said no. The next day, they called the room at 13:30 and woke me up, to ask if we would leave by 14:00. My friend told them that we would see. Ten minutes later, the cleaning lady just walked in without knocking. Really rude. And told us that she needed to clean the room. I think we left the room around 14:15. Went to the reception. Explained my problem. The person at the desk was very polite, told me the person who did my check in made a mistake and went 2 times inside to speak to the manager. Who happened to be the same person that did my check-in. I wanted to talk to her, and the other employee told me that she couldn’t see me but would refund the late check out payment. I didn’t want to get more annoyed and left. I always have a good stay at Ibis. And even though I mostly use Airbnb nowadays and also use other hotels when I travel, I tell everyone that I like to stay at Ibis if I have the chance, because I always know what to expect in terms of comfort, cleanness and service. Well, it was the first time I was treated like that. And even though at the end of the day, it’s nothing serious, I just lost maybe one hour of sleep, I’ll make sure I’ll tell everyone about it. Because the manager was just 3 metres away from me, behind the wall, and I could hear her. She couldn’t bother stepping out of the door and apologising. That’s what I expected and wanted. But instead, they wanted to get rid of me by giving me this few euros refund. I hope whoever reads this understands that sometimes it’s more important to face the client and apologise than just disrespect the client by not wanting to see them. I’ve told this to some people and will tell many more. Because I’m like that. I’ll try Ibis again, but less frequently depending on how this e-mail is answered.
0.54km from RavigoteI stayed here in August and November and am returning in December. (Visiting my daughter on her erasmus year). On both visits to date I have found the rooms, whilst compact clean.and well maintained. The beds have been very comfortable. The rooms have a decent hairdryer, fab showers, free wifi, tv and tea and coffee facilities, which the staff are only too happy to top up. Breakfast is mainly continental (although there is bacon, sausage and egg available - just not my choice) lovely and fresh selection of meats, cheese, fruit, cereal, breads, juices and hot drinks - self serve. The staff, different on both visits, have always been welcoming and friendly. Location wise - perfect, close to trams and buses and easy to access to main train station. Easy to access all sights of interest. My husband and I look forward to revisiting in early December.. the only downside the price in December (during festival of lights) is nearly treble... but that appears to be a similar trend in other hotels at this time. Overall, an enjoyable stay.

This hotel can be seen from afar, but it is not easy to find the hotel entrance and parking lot by car. Because the nearby road is under construction, it took three laps to find the hotel's small entrance. The parking lot is large, 25 euros a day. The hotel lobby is on the 32nd floor and the room is above the 33rd floor. The view is good and has its own characteristics. The room is small, it is fan-shaped, and two adults with a child sleep very crowded. The sanitation is very good, quiet, carpeted, not ventilated, the shower floor is a bit slippery, there is no place to dry clothes. The hotel has a restaurant, dinner is good, service is good. There is no bustling old town nearby, and there is a large public car park next to the food city not far from the hotel.

0.76km from Ravigote(Review on behalf of my mum who stayed there for 4 nights) Excellent location, close to the train station, supermarkets, patisseries etc. We had a bit of a hiccup at time of booking. And a girl on the reception wasn't particularly friendly when I phoned them to sort something out. There was a slight language barrier and in the end she said "I've got people here waiting" and put me on hold forever. Hence I had to get Booking.com involved. We sorted everything out but this left an unpleasant feeling and frankly I was worried about the future stay. However, couldn't complain on arrival. Got all the necessary info regarding entering the property (late arrival). Got inside, got the key, settled in my room. The room was exactly as in the photo, everything was clean and tidy. Kitchenette had all the needed utensils. Lots of towels in the bathroom. Staff were friendly throughout my whole stay. Cleaners helped me set up the WiFi on my phone, very kind of them. Overall I'm very happy with my stay. Just a few little things to moan about: - room wasn't cleaned during my stay. I was mostly out anyway but would be nice if bins were emptied as I used the kitchen regularly. - my bed was very squeaky.

Already from the outside, the hotel looks very worn-down and dodgy. Inside, it is very dark and has incredibly low ceilings. There was a weird smell in the hallways. Our room had an optional third bed (obviously foldable from the desk). If that had been deployed there would literally not have been any space do sit or walk in the room. It was already quite small for two people. It was bearable for the one night we stayed but definitely not a pleasurable memory.

Room is quite simple and basic, and probably our least favourite thing about this hotel. The bed is comfy and wifi is fast - but that's about it. We didn't like the bathroom design (you can see through the toilet - no privacy at all) and it is very small. They avoid providing excessive plastic bottle toiletries (which is great) but to be honest it felt a bit too minimal. Also, we noticed wear and tear in many nooks and corners throughout the room (the toilet was leaky and made a lot of noise) and in the corridor...as well as places/things that look not very well-cleaned (e.g. the hairdryer is covered in fingerprints and dust). Given the current Covid-19 situation in France, that is not ideal. I'd expect a 4 star hotel to be almost "squeaky" clean (even if things are not brand new). Good spread at breakfast - it's not an indulgent buffet but there are good quality items, and the staff strive to replenish as quickly as possible when things run out. Overall it's a nice stay but there are some areas of improvement. We'd consider to return but only if we find a good rate.
0.82km from Ravigote1. Accessibility It is very accessible by public transport since tram and metro stations are only ~5 and 10 minutes walk away. If you came by plane, take the Rhone express train and switch to tram line T1 heading to Debourg, stop at Saint-André station. You can also pick to stop at Guillotière, but in my opinion, it is closer to walk to the hostel if you were in Saint-André station. You will find the hostel right at the corner of Rue Montesquieu. If you'd like to visit Notre-Dame de Fourvière, just walk to Guillotière station to take D line to Gare de Vaise, stop at Vieux Lyon to switch to the funicular that will bring you to the basilica. 2. Neighborhood It is located in a quiet neighborhood, but still has so many local cafes, bars, restaurants, and stores. The city center is very accessible by foot for more entertainment and sightseeing (well yeah, of course, you also can have public transport, but why miss the beautiful city of Lyon if you can walk???). When you walk, stop at Bowl de la Guillotière, one of the hotspot playgrounds for skateboard, BMX, and scooter lovers. Trust me, you'll see some impressive jumps. 3. Service Lovely!! They're just super nice and warm, and very helpful. Even you can leave your luggage before check-in or after check-out for free. Every guest will receive a ticket for a welcome drink, but my friend used it a minute after check-out, and they still gave her a welcome drink. Lol. 4. Bedroom I slept in an 8-bed mixed dorm. There were 4 other people aside from my friend and I. I'll give 6/10 for the bed cleanliness, mostly because of its carpet that was a little bit smell. But you'll still get a clean sheet and your personal electricity sockets and a reading lamp. There were be big drawers under the bunkbed to store luggage. My bed was on the third floor, and as the hostel has no elevator, so it was quite troublesome to carry my 24" luggage up. FYI, they provide dorms, private rooms, and even big private rooms for group travellers or family. 5. Bathroom Super clean, super nice, and they separate the shower with the toilet, which is nice for people who wants more privacy. 9/10, definitely. 6. Interior Design LOVE IT!! Every corner is Pinterest materials. There was a wedding dinner during my stay at their bar, and the decoration made the hostel more beautiful than ever. THE VERDICT: Totally recommended for solo travellers, couples, groups, even family.

If you know me personally or meet me even in passing, you will learn that as a traveller there is absolutely nothing more that I love to do than give positive and raving reviews to my peers, family, colleagues and even my students. I find joy in the littlest of things and I love to give local businesses the support and ratings they truly deserve. Unfortunately for the first time, based on my experience at this hotel I have to offer otherwise. Please note, that if you are someone of colour, a couple of the receptionists will choose to NOT greet you despite your politeness. I almost felt as if I wasn’t welcome. It’s important to note that I currently live in France, and have been an expat professor in various countries including in Vietnam. Never have I ever received this reception in hospitality, and during my tenure in France I have never left a bad comment. Yet, during my stay I was truly disappointed and unfortunately appalled. This was particularly from a full time working receptionist named Marie who I would greet each day and would barely even follow up french étiquette by simply responding a “bonjour” or “bonsoir” even after I initiate. The hotel room space itself was nice, and the service I received across in Lyon in restaurants and stores whether big or small was amazing and friendly. But I must say the service at this hotel did not match at all for me. Yes, I’m sure there are others that didn’t have the same reception or level of service. I thought the same as I browsed through the lovely comments here, which in fact also encouraged me to book in the first place. But unfortunately I have to say despite my professionalism, my decorum, and overall politeness, they felt it was best not to send this energy or treatment my way. Highly disappointing and honestly hurtful to say the least to be on the receiving end of this. Hopefully I’ll still be able to see this comment in a few months, that way I will know that the hotel does indeed have some integrity and is striving to better this issue. To those reading please note that Although you have one experience it doesn’t mean that others are treated in a manner similar to you, unfortunately - which is sad to say.

7th arr. Gerland
Location is not as convenient compared to Gare Depart Dieu but it’s far cheaper. Checkin was fine, receptionist opened the garage for us since we booked for a parking spot. My husband asked one of the staff at the front desk to contact the hospital on his behalf, he was extremely kind and helpful, spent a lot of time waiting on the phone and got all the necessary information for my husband. The hotel is only two years old so everything is still new, clean and functional. The entrance to the garage has VERY tight corner. Got upgraded to a family room & it is very spacious. Stayed for one night before flying out and it was fine.
2nd arr.La Presqu'ile
We spent a week here in November on a romantic getaway. We had chosen this hotel due to the pool and the fact that the hotel was brand new. After the first 3 days, I was actually looking at other hotels and thought about counting my losses and moving somewhere else (had booked a nonrefundable rate), but after a few days we decided to stay, and this was only due to one thing. A new general manager had arrived, and we felt that things started to improve. I am sure he will be able to make this hotel a great hotel, but I would wait to stay there for a few months until he has had the time to work his magic. Even though I feel the bad points will be improved, as we felt our points were heard, there are some problems I will need to mention if you have plans to stay here for the next few months. The breakfast – a clear disaster. They have a small buffet with lots of cakes. I know this is normal in Italy and this is an italian hotel, so this is what it is, but why the small dried out cheese tray with micro sized pieces that dries out in no time? The “hot” items you have to order. A great idea, that often at other places is executed to perfection, but here was a joke. The plates are not heated, and therefore the eggs are almost cold when served- But this is not the worst part. The breakfast chef simply can’t cook or don’t care at all. I had pancakes the first couple of days, the first morning they came out cold, not cold like they had been warm at one point, but refrigerator cold like 5c. Soo this this tells me 2 things – 1: A 5-star hotel that does not make the breakfast fresh? 2: Who in their right mind serves pancakes cold? The second day I had the Parma Ham with toast. The toast was not only the cheapest toast from a bag but I got the end part, which normally would be thrown away, furthermore the ham was cut in so trick slices that they were almost inedible. 3. day – I decided to try the pancakes once more. This time I thought I was on top og things and asked them beforehand to be served warm. Guess again – yes they came out stone cold. I then asked them to be heated. After a few minutes they came out again. This time the top one was somewhat heated, the bottom ones not. At this point with my husband sitting with his also cold eggs and cheap toast that came with his plate. We felt like we were at a cheap AI-Package holiday in Benidorm. The next days I opted for the buffet alone and the last day – even though we had breakfast included we decided to eat out. This is just bad business. Due to this we decided not to use any of the food outlets like room service or the inhouse restaurant. Why should I throw good money after bad? We had a drink one night, but for 20. euros pr drink I expect not to have to ask for a nibble to go with it. When you pay 20 euro there are some expectations on how it is served and what to expect to go with it. And the pricelist were just some laminated papers pieced together with a pin, more suited
2nd arr.La Presqu'ile
This hotel is a 5 minute walk from Lyon Perrache station, conveniently located between the new Lyon and the old town. The rooms are very well presented and even though we overlooked the street we had no issues with noise. The Bathroom is spacious and comes complete with toiletries, fresh towels daily and everything you will need for a short stay. The toilet is separate from the bathroom. There are coffee and tea making facilities plus complimentary bottles of water. Breakfast is adequate and varied, there was no shortage of anything. However what makes this hotel is the staff, so passionate about the town they will take time to show you where to go on the map, give advice on best times and places to avoid. They will recommend restaurants, exhibitions and museums. Fabulous front of house staff.
