There are 3 adjoining blocks in the Sato managed apartment complex with perhaps 20 apartments in each block. Being a managed apartment, there is no reception although there is a contact number for enquiries. They send an sms and email just prior to the 4pm checkin with the apartment number and key code to access the front door and apartment...can be a bit disconcerting when you are doing a long haul flight in and not sure until you land whether there will be an issue, particularly when the temperature is -23 as it was on the early morning we arrived in Helsinki. We booked an extra day prior to arrival as we couldn't wait in freezing temperatures to gain access at 4pm...it didn't work out to be too expensive and worked out well. Like most buildings in Helsinki, Sato is 7 floors high and our apartment was in the basement. As the land slopes away steeply behind the apartment towards the nearby boat harbour, we in fact had access to a small garden area which would be quite pretty in late spring and summer. Our apartment was fairy compact but did have p,entry of room for a couple to spread out Nd be comfortable. It proved to be very quiet with no noise from nearby apartments, the lift (that all apartments open onto) or other residents in the complex. The single bachelor type room had a large 6 person sized dining table plus a 2 seater and single lounge chair. Lots of built in wardrobe space and a small kitchen stocked with the usual plates, pots, toasters and kettles to allow you to cook in if you choose. Bathroom is a bit on the small size and there isn't a separate shower, just a screen to pull around the shower rose. The heated floor drys the water on the bathroom floor very quickly so the system worked well despite our initial reservations. There is a good quality laundry in building A that is free, and a separate drying room that works brilliantly to dry even heavy cotton trousers during the day while we were out sightseeing. The apartments are a 14 minute easy walk into the old town area (Senate Square) and there are shops in what locals called the market square ( including a large supermarket) to the north across the boat harbour, and that's also a major transport hub for teams and busses. The market square is perhaps a 10 minute walk around the boat harbour. But when we were there in early March, the boat harbour was frozen to about a metre thick and we could take a shortcut straight across! For what we got, would certainly stay at Sato again when we next visit Helsinki

The hotel is old. The furniture is old and dusty. Especially, the hair dryer is covered with dust. Very bad smell outside the room because the carpet on the hallway is old and stained. The breakfast was good.

The biggest feature of this hotel is an old hotel, the elevator is old-fashioned, with a hand-drawn door, and a little small, only 4 people. The best place is close to the train station, the location is good, it is convenient to go by train. When coming to Helsinki, we came by Stockholm from the cruise, so walk from the pier to the hotel, while walking around the open market, 40 minutes Arrived. Leaving Helsinki, we are flying, so it is very convenient to take bus 615 on the train. Waiting for the bus on the 7th station outside the train station, every 30 minutes, and the bus at the terminus, 50 minutes to the airport is enough, very convenient . I bought a one-day transportation card, 24 hours, 8 euros a person, used the card to go to Suomenlinna the first day, then took the tram, and used the card to the airport the next day. Go to the airport to buy tickets for 4.60 euros each, and you can buy tickets on the bus. The hotel is very close to the city center, shopping is very convenient, the hotel breakfast is OK, basic European style breakfast, you can eat. The front desk service is also good and worth recommending.

Although it is far from the main tourist destination, If you take tram number 7, you can go from place to place, so it's okay to end your daily ticket. However, the hostel is not the first to give towels ㅠㅠ 2 euros had to be rented .. The breakfast is just bread, cheese and ham, but the Helsinki prices are amazing. The facilities are fine, but the space between the beds is narrow and every time there is a lot of squeaking. Even on the second floor, when a person sits on the first floor, the bunk bed is shaken ㅋㅋㅋ But I can sleep at Helsinki at this price.

I must say I was pleasantly surprised with our stay in Hiisi Homes. The reviews I’ve read were all great, but even so it managed to exceed our expectations. We were fantastically comfortable. The location is good, the amenities are all you can hope for and the decoration of the apartment is super neat! I was particularly fond of the bed sheets, so soft and comfy! Made me sleep like a baby. I definitely recommend to a couple like us. It is like having your own home away from home. Excepcional and the check-in and check-out process was super easy. Thank you so much for the awesome stay!

We stayed here for two nights. Service was very kind, they even helped us to carry bags to 2nd floor. Room was clean and we could not hear any voices from hall. Room was super warm because of summer but we were glad that it was possible to open the window so it helped a little bit. Only we could have wished for fridge in the room.

Good facilities! There are so many hot spots around you! But the hostel is quiet inside! I wrote an 8-bed female dormitory, and I wanted to move it from the 2nd floor of the bed. There is an elevator and a lot of toilets. The bed was comfortable but the room is dark and dim.

Situated about 35 mins from Helsinki airport, the hotel is easily accessible via bus and taxi, with prices from €6 single by bus, (No. 615), to between €30-36 per taxi. The location is within walking distance of many restaurants and cafes, with Helsinki Cathedral and the historic port being about a 15-20 minutes walk. Overall we found it to be a good base for everything. Aesthetically, the outside of the building looks quite utilitarian, with a rather discreet entrance. It wasn’t instantly obvious to us where to enter, plus the variety of names and street addresses which a google search shows for it didn’t help, but the taxi driver eventually found it. The reception and entrance was quite underwhelming but functional, with a seating area and rather funky lounge to the left, (see pics). The check in was relatively straight forward and quick, and we were on our way to the room in about 10 mins. We were on the 6th floor, facing onto the back, which was just a view of roofs and enclosed buildings. The room itself was quite basic but functional, 2 single beds pushed together with basic thin mattresses. Décor was ok, with a small table and 2 chairs. The usual facilities were included, namely tv, direct dial phone, pay bar/fridge, small under tv shelf, bedside tables, air con, hairdryer, iron. Surprisingly, no free tea/coffee or water was provided. The wardrobes were contemporary and small, being directly parallel to the wall rather than at 90 degrees (see pics). If you were staying for a while and had many clothes this room isn’t for you. The bathroom was quite well appointed with attractive tiling and sink. The walk in shower was spacious with an opaque enclosed screen and door, but no bath. The underfloor heating was a nice touch, but the toilet was a little too close to the wall for those of a more significant size. Towels and toiletries were of good quality and size. You could also drink the tap water. Noise wise, the adjacent room doors make a lot of noise when closed and the doors themselves let a lot of light and noise in. Weirdly, there is a bright light directly inside the door that doesn’t have a switch to turn off, so the only way to do so is to unplug the key card from the door power socket. Housekeeping was a little odd too. On our first morning the maid simply walked in whilst we were in bed without even knocking or checking if anyone was in. When she did eventually come back after we left she hoovered, but didn’t fully make the beds, empty the bins or take dirty glasses and paper from the tables.. Facility wise, the hotel has a small gym but no pool or sauna, (a bit disappointing for Finland), although we were advised that some rooms do have them. A bar and small snack area is available, as are luggage storage areas, business facilities and relaxation areas. Breakfast was on floor ‘zero’ below reception and was cavernous. It could easily hold 200 guests. The selection was typical of most mainland Europe hotels, with
