We stayed here for nine nights June-July 2018 in a double room with a large terass overlooking the back and with a not small view also over the sea. Warmly welcomed were we and out two dogs by hostess Maria. Clean hotel, nice pool in the garden, near to beach (both pay-beach and free beach). Breakfast OK, with variety of bread, cakes and cereals. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, but I especially would like to mention chef servant Francesco, who became a good friend two our dogs. Also Chef Alberto, Maria's husband, who is an outstanding cook.

Worst hotel experience ever! Be careful with this hotel and don't be misled by the well crafted photos, it really doesn't feel like a 4 star hotel. After looking at the images for Locanda Dell Angelo, we decided to upgrade to 2 superior rooms for 2 nights. On arrival at 2.30pm, we had to carry our luggage up two flights of stairs - no lift. One of the rooms was not ready and the other room smelt like it had just been fumigated and had no curtains. After looking around at the general poor condition of the room, I requested a room change or a refund, but was told there were no other rooms available and a refund was not possible. We went out for dinner and returned around 8.30pm. When we returned, the second room had been made up with one flat pillow for each bed. After requesting two additional pillows, we were told extra pillows were not available. Very poor customer service and lots of rules in this hotel, like no room service and dinner served in restaurant between 8.15pm-9.30pm. After being bitten by mosquitoes on the balcony, we decided to keep the old wooden single glazed balcony door closed and keep the AC on, even though it was noisey and smelly. After a very uncomfotable night, we decided to leave straightaway so not to spoil the rest of our holiday. Best decision ever to checkout early, even it did cost the the additional night's stay.

First of all, let's talk about the view... it's truly breathtaking, front pretty much every room and every spot on the grounds. The location is really perfect to visit Cinque Terre by boat -- not too far from the marina at Bocca di Magra. Although it's not a brand new property, and the rooms (and especially the bathrooms) are small, the views and the grounds really make up for it. ... and then there's the staff. Everybody we met was absolutely outstanding and went above and beyond the call of duty. In particular, Claudia helped us book two amazing tours that I would not have found without her. And Serena found and shipped back to me the sunglasses I distractingly left behind -- something no other hotel I have stayed in would have done so kindly. One important note: the parking lot (where you park and/or get dropped off) is unmarked and is NOT within walking distance of the actual hotel, so please make sure you call them when you get to Montemarcello so they can point you to the parking and come and pick you up in one of their electric vehicles. All in all: highly recommended, should definitely be part of your bucket list.

We spent a lovely long weekend at this family friendly hotel with our 11 year old son. The pool area was lovely, restaurant served a variety of food for breakfast. we ate in the restaurant one evening which was very nice sitting outside by the pool. The staff were friendly and helpful especially the waiting staff. Our family room was spacious and exceptionally clean. Shower was great! Only negative was the pretty non existent air conditioning and wi fi. We also had to pay for parking as the free spaces were already taken on our arrival. The plus side of this was that it was underground so our car stayed cool! Our plans did change between booking the hotel and us arriving. We advised the hotel we wouldn’t be staying the 3rd night on arrival but they still charged us the full rate of €175 for this night which we felt was excessive, a reduced rate would have been fairer The hotel was located in a small residential town convenient for local restaurants, shops and the beach. We booked a boat trip from the marina to a secluded beach. €10 per person, €5 for children and they kindly lent us a much needed beach Brolley too! Would recommend this trip, just don’t take your flip flops off on the black sand!! Overall a lovely break which felt like we experienced the real Italy as only heard one other English voice the whole time we were there!
