|0.53km from city centerWe were due to stay here on the 12th August 2022 for 2 nights but just less than 48 hours before we had to rush our son into hospital due to appendicitis! I tried to cancel the room and get our money back but it was too late and I just thought in the scheme of things I was happy that we had taken my son into hospital just in time and he had his operation Saturday morning. I spent 4 days in hospital devastated for my son but also that he missed his holiday too. I thought I’d try and email the owner and appeal to them regarding how unfortunate we were that due to no fault of our own that we’d have to lose our money. Mark could not have been more accommodating. He responded to my messages/emails and helped me receive a refund through the booking agent. If you’re looking for a reliable, dependable and customer focused place to stay - then Ei8ht Brighton is a fantastic place to start.

|0.74km from city centerFirst time in Brighton here. Lovely place but there were a few things Paskins did that made things harder than they should be. There was no issue getting in the door with the code you put in the keypad. But particularly what there was an issue with was the locks on the door of my actual room, I tried to get members of staff to aid in showing me how not to get it jammed but no matter which way I turned the key it would not unlock, mostly every time I tried to ask for them to actually get my key out my door so I could leave my hotel (because obviously I needed to leave it to explore) there was a vibe of sighing and contempt which I didn't really appreciate seeing as I was paying £130 for two nights!! I had to sometimes sleep with my key stuck in the door at night which is awkward. (Solo traveller makes it extra dodgy!) There was also no soap both nights, luckily I brought hand sanitizer because of covid, had my room cleaned too and there still was zero soap. I was looking forward to receiving the infamous 'ritzy rolls' (pastries guests apparently got) I saw on TripAdvisor prior to going but both nights I never received one, I thought originally it was because the first night I went out early for breakfast but I slept in late prior to leaving the second and I still didn't get one. It is nice decorated but having a belittling tone to paying customers will not help your business grow so next time I go back to Brighton, I will be going somewhere else!

|0.31km from city centerThe location was amazing! we were right in the middle of the action and everything was very convenient. check-in was great, the gentlemen at the from that helped us check in Callum was super polite and very helpful. The staff at the breakfast was fantastic, my girlfriend's a vegan and they made her fresh vegan sausages at no extra cost! The room was clean and very nice, although it would be great to have some complimentary things like bottles of water or toothbrush/paste nevertheless it was an amazing stay!
also the check out was super easy and hassle-free we just dropped off our room card in a box, super convenient especially if you're on a tight schedule.

|0.94km from city centerI came out with lots of money to spend and i hoped of being able to eat lots of good seafood. First off, ordered mussels, ok, the mussles themselves were very small, and the sauce was extremely over salted so not a great start. Asked if I could have crab in the seafood spaghetti , the waiter was rude, ignored me and wrote down crab salad, I told him no, asked him again and he just said no without asking the kitchen. So ordered the seafood spaghetti. When it turned up, spaghetti was overcooked , tasted bad and lacked seafood. So I felt embarrassed but had to send it back. They asked me If I wanted anything else. I wanted to give them another chance so I ordered the callamari as a starter to be polite. The waiter pretty much dropped it on the table and ran off before even asking if we wanted another drink. It was bad again. So had to send back. If the customer service was better I would have been more inclined to buy more drinks

|0.54km from city centerI have wanted to try this hotel for a long time, my partner surprised me with this hotel along with a pregnancy spa package , followed by dinner at the hotel’s restaurant for my 30th and to celebrate his return from the Army , We had arrived Saturday the 23rd July 2022 at around 11ish to check in for our sea view suite. When we arrived the girl on reception couldn’t find our booking , she eventually did and stated we were a day late. My partner had rang prior to this to book as had a nightmare when trying to book online along with the spa package so the hotel staff booked this not him. The girl then stated due to events happening that weekend in Brighton they had no rooms available, my partner then went to speak to the staff at the spa and cancelled due to me becoming very upset and no longer wanted to be there if we didn’t have a room to stay. We asked to speak to the manager and we’re shocked at the unprofessional girl who we had to deal with , no apology no compassion just rudeness. Me being 7 months pregnant wasn’t even offered a seat or for out bags to be taken whilst they tried to deal with the refund we had asked for at this point, she then went to speak to her manager and after us standing around for 45 minutes said a room had become available , so we then rebooked into the spa. The room was a sea glimpse room overlooking west streets nightclub, no bath tub nothing like the suite we had booked. My partner then went back to reception and said we appreciate the room but obviously pricing would be different from a cosy room to a suite. We were issued no apology no compensation absolutely nothing just a foul attitude and told it was our fault and they wouldn’t do anything else to accommodate. WOULD NEVER STAY IN THIS HOTEL AGAIN , front of house team need to learn customer service skills. The Bar manager had spoke to us throughout the day and he said it’s obviously not down to him but as we had such an awful time he would compensate us £50 for drinks , this was them moved to the restaurant as being pregnant the drinks were a lovely gesture but I can’t drink. The meal was fantastic I couldn’t recommend enough, The ladies in the spa were also the loveliest and were so accommodating and made my pamper so lovely, they also had online conversations that were forwarded to front of house stating we were booked for the Saturday overnight stay… I understand mistakes can be made but the way we were treated when spending that much money was a disgrace and very off putting. Such a shame because the potential is there it’s the front of house team that let down the visit and experience. 😔

|1.21km from city centerThe hotel is easily accessible and quiet. Facing Brighton Beach, there are several Chinese restaurants nearby. It is convenient to go to Seven Sisters National Park by buses 13X, 12, 12A, not far from the train station and bus station.

|0.6km from city centerI booked this hotel for myself and partner, when booking the room we were only given the option of non refundable, be aware of this if you book, they don’t accept the error of this. We then read the reviews on trip advisor so decided that as an elderly couple, this hotel was not safe to stay in. I contacted them to ask for a refund which they refused. I raised all of my concerns with them but they told me they were unfounded - I felt that trusting the reviews was safer so we decided to go else where, sadly we lost our money but at least we felt safer. Be careful there are cheaper and nicer hotels in Brighton.

|1.07km from city centerWe stayed in a standard king room. The room looked like it needed a lot of work done (walls, door, windows). The walls are so thin that I could hear the next rooms conversation clearly. The staff are friendly and helpful and breakfast was good but I don’t think i would stay here again. Parking was awful, there are hardly any spaces as most the spaces have pillars in them and they are very small to get in to. They also share the car park with another building so there’s not many spaces available considering how many rooms they have. It was better to park in the nearest car park. I’ve stayed in other holiday inns and they were so clean and lovely rooms to stay in. I just think that this hotel is outdated and needs work.

|0.42km from city centerJust returned from 4 nights at this lovely boutique hotel. Staff in all areas so friendly and helpful. I was told on check in there is no lift. I have mobility problems but they accommodated us as best they could. Would be good to mention this on the website or be sure that booking team tells you this. Hotel very clean, very happy with our room which had a little balcony. Great interior design, lovely sheets and mattress and beautiful bathroom. Breakfast adequate but minimal and hot food served promptly. Great position near beach, shops and restaurants. Will definitely return but will be sure to get a ground floor room.

|0.09km from city centerWe walked into the property and instantly felt disappointed. The carpets were rippled and thread bare, the smell was fusty and the whole decor was tired and in need of serious attention. We had a lot of luggage and on the 3rd floor with no lift, an offer of help would of been appreciated after a 7 hr journey. Walking up the stairs, the carpets got worse, literally every step was thread bare, the walls were cracked and the painting looked decades old. We entered our room, the smell was very unpleasant of drains, there were screws holding tiles into the wall in the shower, the shower fitting came off with the shower head when you removed it. The sink didn’t drain and when I removed the plug it was because it was full of gunk, hair and clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. There was a piece of plywood propped up in the bathroom against the tiles with a sharp pointy end. No idea why that would be in a hotel bathroom. The mattress was lumpy and very poor quality. Thankfully I took my own pillow. Chunks of plaster was missing from round the light switch and other parts of the wall. I got bitten by something on my ankle when I was standing on the carpet. The toilet wouldn’t stop filling so my partner fixed it and said it was full of limescale so the seals didn’t work anymore. The drain smell got progressively worse and we asked to move rooms. We were moved into a very similar room, although it didn’t smell thankfully. The plug was slightly cleaner, mattress the same and the front of a draw was left propped up against the dresser. The owners of this hotel really need to invest in it. The staff have an incredibly difficult task trying to get this property presentable although it could of been better. We knew for just over £100 per night that we wouldn’t be staying in luxury but I have stayed in much cleaner, comfortable hostels at half the price.

|0.43km from city centerUnusually I stayed twice in a month. The first visit being my daughters wedding and the second to attend a concert at the Brighton Centre. Both very nice stays. The hotel staff are friendly and accommodating the rooms are well equipped and very clear although a bit tired and would benefit from a bit of a makeover but this is a very old hotel. The beds were very comfy . There is a lot of noise from the outside which did go on till the early hours but this is Brighton and a sea front hotel so I wasn’t worried by this. You pay a price which is well worth it because of the location. The singers in the bar were very good and the breakfast was amazing I’d recommend this hotel. Normally I stay with family in the area but if I ever need to stay in Brighton I would have no hesitation in studying here again

|0.48km from city centerThe hotel is very good and the check in is easy. We had a family room for 3 adults and 2 children. In England the wheelchairs do not hesitate and often the day comes into the rooms in the morning. The hotel has a light on its face that it leaves all night on every side of our bow window. This laying the light on it was seen as in the day-to-day in our room and the children had difficulty sleeping before 23h-23h30.... When I asked at the reception if it was possible to shut out the outside light the night, I was answered that it was impossible that this room had been rented hundreds of times and that I was the first to complain. I'm just gonna be a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a I join you a photo of our night windows with wallpapers to try to make more black

|0.86km from city centerThe hotel location is amazing - just 2 minutes from the station (if that) and a 10 minute stroll to the beach. The Hotel was exceptionally clean with brilliant welcoming staff. As other have mentioned, the only negative is that the breakfast choices were very limited. Small single portion omelettes, tinned tomatoes and sausages, as well as cereals etc. However - don't let this distract you. Loved the additional facilities of the hotel (washing machines, the Den) etc. The room was silent - no noise from anywhere. Good powerful but quiet air con.

|0.81km from city centerWe had room no8 which has a fantastic view of the sea. The room was a good size, very clean with a lovely en-suite. We had tea in the room and a nespresso machine for those who drink coffee. Kit kats were also provided. The Room is at the top of a lot of stairs so this room would not be suitable for the less mobile. The White House is easily a 10 min walk to the pier, lots of lovely shops and restaurants on the way. Cannot fault our wonderful stay and will most certainly be returning.

Brighton
|0.36km from city centerI almost walked out of Jury's Inn when I arrived in Brighton; I was already irritated by their 16:00 check-in time, and the place felt grubby and tired when I walked in. However, it redeemed itself quite quickly when I dealt with the staff. The ladies on the reception desk were incredibly helpful, friendly and efficient, and Ken at the bag storage made my day with his calm and affable personality. The room itself was clean and comfortable, and even though I was close to the lifts, there was little noise. I never ate at the dining room so cannot comment, but I did have a drink at the bar area, which I found to be a little sterile. It was a busy weekend with many people and families in and out, but the hotel managed exceptionally well. Even when one of the lifts was out, I didn't feel that the staff dropped their pace or professionalism. The hotel is in a great location as a springboard for Brighton. My ”Jury” is still out regarding value for money, but I have no hesitation in appreciating the staff.

|0.27km from city centerPrior to booking I was a bit skeptical after reading the reviews being 50/50 with some mentioning of being too hot, noise levels and stolen items just to name a few. However, after I arrived I had nothing but positive things to say about this hostel. It was my first time staying in one as a solo traveller who travels singular often! I had all round a fantastic stay. I stayed in a room with 3/4 other females who were respectful of one another and would move around quietly. The window was left open throughout the night so it was an enjoyable nights sleep, however I can imagine it would have been toasty had the window been closed- it was a great circulation throughout. The bathroom was clean and well stocked with soap and tissue. You can rent a towel from reception, before leaving I read reviews that stated this so took along my own but for a small fee you can be provided one on arrival. There are lockers on level 1 that you can leave valuables and bags inside if you happen to arrive earlier than 15h check in time or throughout your stay. I felt safe to leave my bag on my bed when leaving the hotel for the evening to meet friends and just put a padlock on for my own reassurance! Everything was untouched. The staff at reception are pleasant and welcoming with a friendly smile and the bar does great drink offers (£6 for a double!) I would happily stay here again and I’m delighted to have had a first time great stay in a hostel. YHA thanks for making my stay in Brighton enjoyable!!

Downstairs is the Food City, let’s have a good meal.

Brighton
|0.44km from city centerThe Legends hotel states that they have a bar and sub terrain night club in the basement, what they don’t state is :- a, That the night club carries on until 4:00 am and that the ear plugs provided are ineffective. b, That if you have a so called city view you can only see the rear of the adjacent properties. c, You can’t have the windows open for long because of the deafening noise coming from the air conditioning units on the lower roof and the noise from the extractor chimney are the equivalent to booking accommodation in a machine shop. d, Empty bottles cascading into the wheelie bin through the small hours of the morning. When we complained about this we were told that staff were not supposed to empty bottles before 8:00. The last time we heard bottles was 5:30. e, Dirty mouldy bathroom. Dust all over the radiator that dirtied the towels when placed on it. f, Misrepresentation of rooms size in the hotel description. Ours was definitely not the same as the one pictured. g, Being fobbed off by the hotel staff when we asked to see anyone of authority so we could get reimbursed, and who would only be available when we were long gone. So as you can see from our experience and since getting home and reviewing the lower scores left by previous travellers we are not the only couple to have had a less than pleasant experience at the Legends hotel

|0.75km from city centerI was really worried when we first booked as the reviews were so awful online. I don’t want to discredit anyone else’s experience as they could have fixed some of the issues since other peoples stays but my partner and I both thought it was wonderful! The check in was super easy, the ‘guest house’ area wasn’t in use but who’s spending time in there anyway? The room was stunning! No problems with the cleanliness, noise or amenities. View of the beach front from the room window, hot water for the bath. No problems with the key safe or access to the building/room. I thought it was important to leave this review as the hotel seems to have a bad reputation online but from our experience it was fantastic! We’ll definitely be back and will be recommending!

Room is comfortable with everything you need and staff are attentive and super helpful. Had problems with room key - if anywhere near your phone, won’t work. No shop to purchase snacks, food, drink, but drinks, ice, and limited menu available from bar for a good part of the day - until 2:00. If beyond that, you have to go out or have food delivered. Breakfast is offered though. Great location, no AC, but room comfortable and fan provided. This hotel is better and much less expensive than other four-star hotels in Brighton and Hove. |0.24km from city centerThere is breakfast, but it is very simple, things are less than the average British hotel, and the price is not cheap, it costs 12 pounds a person. The room is still quite large and belongs to the simple and comfortable one. Walk to the beach for about 25 minutes and there are many bars nearby. I lived on Saturday, so it was very noisy at night.
