The best thing about the Markazia Suites was the wonderful pillows and fresh, clean sheets. The bed itself was very comfortable as well. However, the duvet was a little too full for summertime. However, we were surprised with everything else, given that this hotel had been given five stars! The room, though spacious enough, was extremely old and dingy, with stained sofas, matted worn carpeting, really ready for refurbishing. The grout in the shower was filthy, covered with mildew. The bathroom amenities were pretty minimal for being labeled a five/star hotel. One pair of slippers for the two of us, no bath robe. The serviceman was a good sport when the crib in the room couldn’t be set up; he cheerfully took everything out and returned with a brand new porta crib. Yay! The repairman who was called for the broken safe and the broken refrigerator (which they ended up replacing) was very nice & didn’t at all seem put out. He also spent some time fiddling with the user-UNfriendly microwave & finally showed me how it worked when neither I nor the housekeeper could figure it out. Although the concierge was very welcoming & helpful, the doorman took a long time to open the door for us when we tried to enter with a stroller. We usually opened the door whether entering or exiting while he sat on his stool. Didn’t expect that for a five-star either.

I booked this hotel as a group booking, 12 people, 8 rooms. The staff were most helpful and offered an excellent rate. We checked in at 2am due to our flight time and the staff were there to meet us and very friendly. The whole stay they were very helpful for local advice and provided impecible service throughout our stay. The rooms are not huge but very modern and exceptionably clean. The roof top pool/Bar is very well designed with great views across the city, perfect all day especialy for sun set drinks. I would not stay anywhere else in Beirut after staying here.

I stayed here for six nights, and for my needs would stay in another part of the city on a return visit. The room size is good, with a separate seating and work area from the bedroom. The heavy curtains work well to block out the sun if you need darkness for sleeping. Nothing can be done, however, to block out the noise. As other reviewers have noted the nightclub downstairs blasts music until 2-3am on the weekends, and until 1am other nights. Be prepared! (I had requested a quiet room although did not receive one, if they even exist??) The bathroom is also a good size although the lighting in the bathroom is extremely dull, even with all of the lights on. The minibar and other amenities are decent and sometimes refilled. Overall the property is tired and worn. As it is advertised as a boutique hotel I did not expect standard 5* quality, however, this property is certainly not a 4* or 5* property however you rate it. Service levels are average, and few staff members ever said a word to me coming or going or even acknowledged my presence in any way. I was booked on the non-smoking floor and for several nights of my stay there was a/were heavy smoker/s in the room next door. It was so bad that the smoke woke me up. One evening the pool/bar area was booked for a private party, and there was no notice of this in the lobby or my room so I went upstairs to relax for a bit and walked into a mess. I'm sure it could be a nice space for a drink, but I cannot confirm. The level of cleanliness is also average. You can tell the rooms are vacuumed as you can see the markings on the well-worn carpet. There were dark hairs in my shower when I checked in, and they remained unmoved in my shower for the entirety of my stay. There was also toothpaste around the mirror and back of the sink area that also remained for my entire stay. You can easily walk to Beirut Souks, central business areas and nearby neighborhood for shopping, cafes, and nightclubs. If this your thing, then this could be a good location for you. Cars, taxis, etc. cannot reach the hotel directly so you will have a very short walk to reach the hotel if you are dropped off on the nearby road.

This is a great place to stay in a fun neighborhood. From the moment I booked my room until I left, the whole Meshmosh team was helpful and informative! The rooms are nice, clean and affordable. Breakfast is fantastic, with a lot of choice and good coffee/tea available. A friend of mine needed a room last minute since the hotel she had booked was a disaster, Grand Meshmosh stepped up and helped her with an easy move and a nice place to stay! Airport shuttle was also convenient and well priced.

The best stay ever in an apartment hotel ... My wife and I were very impressed from the hotel, it’s facilities and the hospitality of the staff. We stayed here for exactly 4 months. From the day of arrival until the day of check out - just all fantastic and everyone, from the front office staff up to the waiters were extremely friendly. Our stay was simply glorious. The whole hotel is very nicely laid out. We had a superior 1 bed room suite in the 9th floor with very nice furniture and an excellent mountain view from the bed room balcony as well as sea view from the living room balcony. On top you can safely eat and enjoy everything and the breakfast and the dine in meals are really delicious. All the staff in the hotel were always trying to make the guest right and feeling very welcome. The hotel is conveniently located in a good area in Achrafieh with supermarkets, a pharmacy and a shopping mall just within 5 minutes walk. If you are looking for a comfortable stay in a great hotel in a nice neighbourhood then you should definitely visit the Park Tower Suites.

Beverly Hotel Beirut  This was our first visit to Lebanon and we chose this hotel for our 4 night stay due to its location. Its a 20 min drive from the airport and all the major attractions are walking distance.  Our family suite was lovely had everything you would need. Microwave, fridge, tea/coffee facilities, hairdryer, safety deposit box. Toiletries we're also provided and we're quite decent too, shampoo, shower gel, toothbrush /toothpaste.  Hotel staff were really friendly and helpful. Layla at reception was particularly helpful and always had a smile on her face as did Hassan.  Reason for rating it a 4 star is due to breakfast. This could've been better with a few more choices to cater for a European pallette. We went at a time when the situation in Beirut was unstable but as tourists we never felt unsafe. You could hardly tell anything was going on. We visited Martyrs Square and saw where all the protests were taking place but that was during the day. We stayed away from this area during the evenings as didn't want to get into the mix of things especially travelling with children.  Tips : Use uber to go to far away places.  McDonald's is 6 min walk. Turn right when you come out of the hotel and walk all the way down. You will see it on your left.  Zaituna Bay is a 5 min walk. Turn left when you come out of the hotel. Loads of eateries there with stunning views.  Avoid visiting Souk al Ahad. This was a waste of time. It's more of a local market, nothing for tourists.  Hamra was ok. Just shops and food places. Visit Jeita Grotto, Byblos and Lady of Lebanon you will love it as we did. Very beautiful and stunning views. You will have to pay entrance fees to all these places but not that expensive. We booked a private tour that included all these sights to visit in one day.  From January 2020 Lebanon will only be accepting their local currency and no other including USD so ensure you have exchanged enough before you go.  Tawouk is a really good place to eat.  Hardly any tourist shops around for bringing gifts back. I would recommend buying anything you see on the tourist places you visit as we didn't see anything local to where we were staying or any of the nearby areas.  Food was very expensive. Even places like Mcdonalds. A meal was around £7.50 and Mcflury was about £2.50. Overall we had a lovely stay and would definitely return. It's a really beautiful country with lots to see. Once the situation in Lebanon is calmed down and a proper government is formed that invests in the people and its country it will surely make it a better place for locals and tourists.  If you have found this review helpful please give it a thumps up.

If Sofitel Le Gabriel was called after a different name I would rate the hotel with 4/5 but unfortunately it's a Sofitel and definitely is lacking those little extras to make you feel special. When a guest is a platinum cardholder it's these touches that make you feel special for trusting AccorHotels chain. What I mean... We had two nights (3 full days) at Beirut staying at Sofitel Le Grabriel. We arrived early in the morning (around 8 am at the hotel) and we were given a room although check-in opens at 14:00. Honestly we didn't have any expectations for getting a room so early and we thought we would just leave our suitcases and go away until check-in time. It was a nice gesture to give us a room immediately. It was the exact room type we booked - luxury double. Usually, upon availability there is an upgrade to platinum members. Of course we didn't know how full is the hotel and cannot insist on that but during our entire stay we crossed three guests (!). Generally it was pretty quiet in the hotel so I find it weird we didn't have an upgrade in the room (we could wait for a check-in at 14;00 if it was to get a nicer room). The luxury room we got on the 8th floor was nice but the bathroom was too small. Maybe the smallest we ever got in a Sofitel. There was a nice veranda but only one chair to sit and although we thought of spending sometime outside on the balcony late in the evening, it was impossible. Furthermore, only one bathrobe and only one pair of slippers were available. Most of the times you get a welcome note by the manager in the room with a bottle of water and a little treat that makes you feel 'special', and even when this is not ready on the first day, they leave it in your room the second day. We got nothing apart from two small bottles of water that were replaced every day. During the turn down service the housekeeping provided new clean towels but they didn't replace the empty water bottles on the bedside table. I don't know the policy of this exact hotel. Maybe the instructions they have is to just have the bottled water replaced once during the day. Strange though in a country like Lebanon that you cannot drink water from the tap so you must either use the mini bar or get from outside. In all our stays elsewhere in this chain they had been provided with new bottles during turn down service. It's all about details, yes. What if there was just one chair on the balcony and just one bathrobe. It's not that a big thing, yes. Also, it's not the value of a small bottle of water, neither that of the welcome treat, but it's the gesture to a loyal guest and what makes the hotel differentiating from an equivalent 5* that is not a Sofitel. On the positive side I have to thank the friendly male receptionist in the evening (I'm sorry I don't remember the name) that booked us a restaurant of our preference for dinner and also for being polite and attentive! We asked him the last night for a late check out on the next day and he extended i

Stayed for two nights. We had the executive room which was very spacious. Beds are comfy and area around is quiet. You can get a good night's sleep in it. On the positives are the excellent location 15 mins walk from Beirut Souks.Friendly attentive staff, the decent breakfast, spacious room and free valet parking service. The indoor pool is good enough for a splash to unwind after a long day walking. On the negative is that it could do with a refresh concerning the carpets etc but nothing too bad. Also wifi ain't great. Would definitely stay again.

First of all, I would like to say, Raouche Arjaan by Rotana is the one of the best hotel I have stayed in and it is the only hotel I would stay in in Beirut for many reasons. I travelled with my wife and we booked a suite and as soon as we reach the hotel they recipient Kareem said because it is your wedding anniversary the management office upgrade your booking to be Raouche veiw (it was big WooooW) so, Thank you Raouche Arjaan by Rotana Management office for your sweet offer Also big thank you for kareem, Raneem and Angee (Sorry Angee I spelled the name wrong lots red flower for you and one white hahahaahah). The suite was located in 11th floor it has beautiful sea and Raouche view, in the first night we have been welcomed with juice drinks and heart cake shaped by the General Manager, unfortunately, the room service through the card but as far as I remember the name was Hala Massad so , Big thanks Hala (lots red flower for you and two white hahahaahah). Now Big Big thanks to Mr Faisal from House keeping (lots white flower for you and two red hahahaahah) for your assistance and kindness. sorry if i forget any one but in general all of the hotel staff was friendly. now about the hotel, an excellent romantic location. just cross the road is the Flaminki where you can have nice also near by coffee shops looking to the Raoucha facing the sea as well near all what you need so, If I am going to Beirut againe I will very sure stay in Raouche Arjaan by Rotana suite # 1102. Great hotel for solo stays, business travel and couples. Best rooftop in Beirut. I stayed in the summer and hardly left the hotel because there is so much to do. I had a great experience with the staff from the valet to reception, maid/room service etc. and I knew I would from my first communion with sales manager Mazen who helped put together the perfect long stay package for me. I’m an expat who is constantly traveling and staying in the same old boring hotels that look the same. What I love about Smallville is that it is an experience not just a stay.

This review is long overdue! Layal at the front desk was kind enough to upgrade my room to a suite on arrival. This hotel is located in the middle of Hamra district, within walking distance to lots of pubs, restaurants and the corniche. The breakfast was great, the rooms were clean, the internet was fast and the gym had the essentials! The rooms can get noisy at night on the weekends due to the bars infront of the hotel playing loud music. I generally don't mind that. If you're in Beiruit to enjoy the sights and sounds, this hotel is highly recommended.

Writing now from the 8th floor of the Crowne Plaza, Hamra, Beirut. There is a view of snowcapped Mount Lebanon in the distance, and also the bustle and honking of the busy city below. The staff at the Crowne Plaza are polite, friendly, unobtrusive and efficient. The room is cleaned at any hour of the day or night. If you care to explore the neighbourhood of Hamra, you will discover a few gems that serve good food and a great Hookah with some strong Arab coffee. Check out the Black Seed coffee and bagel bar; wonderful coffee including cold filtered, and a choice of freshly baked bagels with toppings of smoked salmon, yogurt with cucumber, or three cheeses. Close by for dinner, go to Makdessi Street where you will find two very good restaurants: Ka3Kaya, bright and welcoming, featuring colourful furniture, a really good menu but don't bother with the soup, a delightful staff and a good Apple flavoured hookah to finish. Next door is Vesper Cocktail Bar, which also does a great steak and chips on a slate, a fabulous truffle burger, and has a full bar licence. Were Vesper to brighten up the outside with some - albeit discreet - lighting, it would certainly attract more customers to its very fine cuisine. One more restaurant I must mention is Villa Celia, also nearby in Hamra. You are kindly ushered up two flights of stairs featuring Beautiful Italian décor and carved mirrors. The décor in this restaurant is beyond words of praise. It has to be experienced. The delightful staff on the roof bar and restaurant will serve you drinks and hookahs with multilingual grace and charm. However, a word of advice to Villa Celia: You have a Wonderful premises, unrivalled in Hamra. You have the perfect mix of delightful young staff. You have the perfect ambience. Now please invest in a top class chef and broaden your menu. I shall be back to see.....
