Mainz
|1.34km from city centerThis is the second time we’ve stayed at the AC hotel in Mainz. Although it is across the street from the train station, the sound of multiple trains and trams is not heard in hotel rooms. But the convenience of being close to a transportation center cannot be understated. The hotel itself is lovely and clean, the front desk staff is friendly and helpful, and the on-site restaurant (Adam and Eden) has windows overlooking the area. Since we were visiting family members in Mainz, we only ate breakfast there, but it included an amazing buffet. In fact, we invited our family to join us for a delicious breakfast all 3 days of our stay. Last but not least, out wait staffer, Osiris (sp?) was a real pleasure, anticipating our needs before we asked. His professionalism and sence of humor helped make our journey special. He is a treasure. Joy & Larry of California

|1.59km from city centerThis was the first hotel we stayed at, as part of a 7 month trip through Europe and Africa. Will admit - not the best idea, as this apartment is SO NICE, that you'll end up comparing all your future hotel rooms against it (and they'll probs come up short). Beautiful converted building, spacious rooms, everything feels recently renovated and clean. The owner was exceptionally friendly and went out of his way to help us. Our room looked over the main square and fountain, and was extremely nice to fall asleep at night with the window opening listening to people walk past, eating at cafe and the fountain in the background. Only thing to note is that the beds seem a little small. We're used to a king at home, or queen when we travel. This may indeed be a queen, but it feels like a double. I fell off the bed (while sleeping) one night we stayed. Not fun as bed is quite high. Excellent stay in Mainz, and a great alternative to Frankfurt if they're having a convention (and the prices go sky-high). Old town here is small, but there's enough stuff to keep one busy for a few days.

|1.37km from city centerThis hotel is located just in front of the train station which is so convenient, also mean the main bus stop is here. It's quite well decorated. Despite its old built, it's well organized inside. Unfortunately I got the room on the backside but still got the top floor, so won't complain. They have AC and heater(separately). Just only one hair in found in the bathroom is the diasadvantage. Oh well, the blanket seems to be smaller than a queen bed. Maybe because I book just for one, anyway I hope to get a big one. A women at the reception I met was nice, friendly. Overall, I kinda like it here. Well, haven't tried thier breakfast so, can't say. I will be back here if I visit Mainz for some business reasons.

|2.39km from city centerNice, new hotel. The room size and the view of the water were much better than I expected for this hotel category. The room layout was a bit strange (shower and sink in the room, only a small toilet is separated separately). When I arrived, the hotel garage was already full (it is probably quite small and advance reservation is not possible), but the Zollhafen Weinlager underground car park is within walking distance and costs a maximum of 1 hour per hour.

|3.03km from city centerI was called this morning by a lady from the favorite restaurant. She wanted to talk to me about my criticism. First you told me that the service staff had a completely different perception and that the restaurant had cameras installed and everything was recorded. First, the information about the cameras irritated me, but I answered that it is in principle good, because it was all recorded and can be assessed in fact. The perception of the servants did not seem to me to be related to facts. Objectively, I can understand – What can you tell the chief if you are in an explanation need... The lady wanted to hear my version again, it was hardly because you've always interrupted me. She took words in her mouth that I would never use, namely it was claimed that I don't want to be “filled” when the server wanted to give me the same wine once 2-tes without asking if I wanted to. The next time it went on and a new corresponding wine should be served. Finally, I said I do not find the conversation to be targeted and I would like to finish it. Finally, the lady has told the audience that you don't want to see us in this restaurant. All right! I wrote that in my criticism that we don't come anymore. Maybe not everything was read or the lady wanted the last word. For me, this is an example of a painful reprocessing...and unfortunately confirms me in what I wrote. There are so great restaurants in Frankfurt, where there were several times, such as Villa Merton, La Fleur, (previously Emma Metzler), Maintower or Lohninger – there is quality, service and friendliness and we're going back there! PS tip error correction from the main criticism: Keller = Keller; if= who

Mainz
|2.31km from city centerWe had googled our way to the fact that the Hilton Mainz has a very good location right down to the Rhine and you can purchase access to the hotel's ”Executive Lounge”. We booked 5 nights and we were ready for a little vacation by the Rhine. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were quickly and efficiently checked in by Mrs. Blanco Flores, who upgraded us to a room with a view of the Rhine. Mrs. Flores made us aware, that the ”Executive Lounge” was unfortunately not that big, but we had to see that with our ”own eyes”. Really good service was provided upon check-in, and our expectations for the stay at the hotel became greater. The room we had been allocated was on the 5th floor with a wonderful view of the Rhine. We had booked a room with breakfast, so we were excited to see, how the breakfast buffet was. But we were very pleasantly surprised there 😊.. There was a reasonably large selection of various breads and hot items, so it was just a matter of getting started with breakfast. The hotel allows you to sit outside and enjoy your breakfast with a view of the Rhine, and watch the people walking and cycling past. We were very lucky with the weather, so breakfast was enjoyed for a little longer time than usual. After breakfast, we went up and see how the ”Executive Lounge” was. But unfortunately we were somewhat disappointed. The ”Executive Lounge” consists of 2 small rooms, where there were 3 tables in each room, and 3 people could sit at each table. When we got outside the time when alcoholic drinks are served, we could see that you could have a cup of coffee or an apollinaris. The snacks on display looked a bit boring, and the fruit wasn't of the best quality either. But cheer up, it could be good in the evening... But when we visited the ”Executive Lounge” in the evening, beer, wine and spirits were on display - but the snacks that were also on display didn't seem particularly inviting - so we didn't take any of them. Summary of our experience of the ”Executive Lounge” is that it is not necessary to purchase access to the ”Executive Lounge”. And we can only encourage hotel management to go on a study trip to Düsseldorf or Dresden, where we have experienced what an ”Executive Lounge” should really be like. In general, the level of service is very high, and the staff a super good service at the hotel 😊... Here we have to highlight in particular: Mrs. Flores from the reception, Heike from the breakfast restaurant and Brittany from Guest Relations. They gave us a really good service during our stay. In summary, we would give the hotel 4 stars out of 5. If the hotel should have had the last star, the ”Executive Lounge” must be upgraded with better rooms. (Could space be created for a small area down in the restaurant area, so that you also have the opportunity to sit outside on the warm summer evenings. We would like to come again at another time to enjoy the good location and super service 😊..

|0.97km from city centerIt’s about 3 minutes away from Mainz Central Station. It’s easy to go to any attractions. The breakfast buffet is very rich. The bathroom does not have a door. It would be inconvenient if you have friends living with you. I’m here to watch the football game. It’s a very happy journey. Come Mainz will definitely stay again.

|1.52km from city centerBuilt in the optimistic, forward-looking climate of 1950s as the Hotel Europa this Mercure chain hotel has been recently refurbished in a style which reflects its original mid-century character. Many original features (such as the main staircase with its 50s graphic decoration) have been maintained, and the rooms equipped with appropriate but modern furniture and decor. Very clean, well-run hotel. Our only real gripe was the lack of much storage space. The tiny wardrobe was half-filled by a minibar and a safe, leaving very little space for the contents of our (small) suitcases. It’s an easy walk from the station, and the streets behind the hotel have some nice neighbourhood restaurants.

|1.46km from city centerSeparate twin beds were requested in advance and were not told at the time of check-in. Can only provide smoking rooms, speechless 😓 The restaurant service is better, the variety is more abundant, the waiter is very friendly, and the active chat is very friendly. Hotel parking is more expensive, 20 € / day. The hotel's location is excellent, right in the heart of the city, Mainz Cathedral, restaurants, supermarkets are all within walking distance.

|1.44km from city centerThe hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were nice. It is about a 10 minute walk from the train station. They will give you a free drink coupon if you are willing to pass on your room being cleaned each morning. This is great because the only negative thing about the hotel is that the train station is the closest place to get coffee or food. It’s not far, but it is better if you can have coffee right after waking up.

|2.74km from city centerSo much nicer than I expected! Coming from the States I had pretty low expectations for a Super 8. But wow could the American Super 8s learn a few things from this place. The room is sparkling clean and modern, with comfy beds and bedding. The breakfast is fabulous, with eggs, sausage, bacon, fruit, breads, cheeses, juice, delectable croissants, choice of coffee drinks, and more. There’s a spacious new lobby with sofas and lounge chairs. They will cook you a nice thin crust pizza. You can buy wine and beer. Is this even a Super 8?!

|1.12km from city centerI came with my football team on a pre-season tour, and we really enjoyed our stay at Novotel Mainz. The staff made our stay so enjoyable and the team felt really welcomed. Of particular enjoyment were the facilities; the sauna and the plunge pool were popular among the players, especially after the games and helped soothe sore muscles! Special thanks go to Frank, Abdel, Helene and Aida, who did a wonderful job looking after our needs and who were especially patient with our younger team members in the small hours...! And also Emily at breakfast who made sure we had everything we wanted. If we ever do return to Mainz, I'm sure we'll be staying here again!

Mainz
|2.35km from city centerUnfortunately, we were not the only well-being on the weekend who wanted to visit the Mainz. It was breaking full and the hotels were selected. The location to the city centre is good, especially as you are fast on the promenade. Unfortunately, our room was close to the elevator plus the two streets, where the traffic was clearly hearable despite closed windows. The rooms are renovated, the bathrooms are new, light and clean. The shower is large, unfortunately with a shower hang (not so smooth yet). Small TV, but it's enough because of the distance to bed. Beds are rather hard but still comfortable. All in all clean. The service was ok. Parking is possible in the nearby public parking house and costs 10 euros per day.
