This is a nice modern hotel recently refurbished, smells new. We found the room to be too hot but the bed was comfortable. Minor snags, no shelf in shower for soap etc, Shower not sealed off so some water gets on bathroom floor. When you turn lights off it kills all power to sockets except one bedside. This needs to be the one you use if you have a sleep apnoea machine but you can thread the cable behind the bed if you sleep on the left. Staff very friendly willing to speak English if it makes life easier. Gated car park next door to the hotel costing 8€. Hotel difficult to find if you don't use Satnav. It's in a street 200m straight up from the railway station. However the station is poorly signposted and there are lots of one-way streets. You access the hotel street from a no entry sign which doesn't apply to residents. Short walk to all amenities. We had breakfast in the railway station for half the price of the hotel breakfast. There are also cafés not far away.

A good hotel located opposite the railway station and on the main road to the station but not affected by noise too badly. A short walk from the Cathedral and main tourist area of Chartres. The room was a standard L shaped modern hotel room with a separate bathroom and WC. Decor was Art Deco and of good quality. The self service breakfast was also good. We were directed to park our car in the public car park adjacent to the station, but our car was broken into and ransacked while parked there, though fortunately we had removed all valuables. I observed at least two other cars that had broken windows in the car park. The hotel staff were at a loss on how to deal with the break in, other than to send us to the very helpful local police station. We were later told that there is a small hotel car park behind the hotel though this is not secure either. Obviously the hotel can do nothing about security in the public car park, so just be aware if you are parking here.

Having given this title I would have to say that due to the station redevelopment and road works it is a bit chaotic finding hotel and then getting to and from multi storey car park that is a few mins away. Returning exit key required one person walking back to hotel as road closed. The rooms are nice but ours was a bit small. I could barely get round side bed where no bedside table. Staff are very helpful and it is bonus that it merges with the hotel Jehan de Beauce as they have a lovely bar and also restaurant. We were tired and cold so on this occasion decided not to venture out. Buffet breakfast is pretty mediocre and room rather cramped. Would still stay again though

Not so much an hotel but self catering apartments almost next door to the cities best attraction, the cathedral. My wife and I had La Chapelle, a very modern apartment on the second floor and with a view of the cathedral from one window. It was spotless and extremely well appointed for self catering, we were only there for one night so did not have the opportunity to take full advantage of it all. My wife and I both said it was a pity we were not staying longer. Under normal road conditions having to book in and collect the key from the parent hotel opposite the railway station would not be a problem but during our visit the station road was dug up and there were diversions in many roads leading to it so it was not that easy to get to, we ended up going down a road temporarily restricted to taxis, I await the fine! A pain but by no means anything to put one off. There is no road parking but there is a massive underground carpark two or three minutes walk away so parking is no problem at all. it is not cheap but then no city centre parking is. Despite the proximity to the cathedral we only heard the bells once on the Sunday night, Monday morning we were there and there was zero noise from the street. Breakfast was not included but the restaurant, in the same building, offered one which was quite a typically French and perfectly acceptable. They also offered a Plat de Jour Sunday evening but it was of the take it or leave it type and as the main was veal, we left it. There are any number of restaurants around the cathedral area so finding one you fancy is easy. There was just one problem with the place which I am sure will have been fixed by now. The floor covering is the same throughout the apartment and there is a small step, no more than six inches, between the bedroom and bathroom area and the only demarcation is a small metal strip. I almost tripped up it in the middle of the night, in the morning my wife missed it completely going into the bedroom area, which she did at the horizontal, flat on her face. Fortunately no serious damage was done, it just shook up both her and the building! A more prominent marking of the step would perhaps save a serious mishap. Regardless of this and assuming most people are not clumsy klutz like us, I cannot recommend the place more highly.

This was our second stay at this hotel and we were as content as on the first occasion. The rooms are modern and well maintained and offer good value (89 euros). Service is friendly and helpful. The breakfast (10 euros pp) offers a good choice. It has its own car park, albeit space is limited and is best reserved in advance (6 euros). Overall this is a good value hotel which is well located to explore the historic centre of this attractive city.

We wanted to spend time in Chartres I because of the cathedral, but ended up really liking the town itself. Maunoury City Break is the perfect place to stay & walk everywhere. We had the wrong address in our GPS, so had trouble finding it. We finally called Anne, & she stood out in the street to direct us to the right address! She also upgraded us to an apt, since we were staying three nights. We really appreciated this, since we had lots of room, & the apt had everything you could want. We had a delicious breakfast every morning in a beautiful dining room. Great coffee, & exceptional French Toast one morning. It was about a 15 minute walk to both the Cathedral & Train Station, with no problems. We wish we could have stayed longer. Wonderful hosts.

This hotel is very basic with no frills. The staff were polite but not especially friendly. They did have people who spoke English, so we were able to interact without having to get out the French-English dictionary. The breakfast was OK but the person overseeing it initially grilled us before letting us in. The bed was a thick piece of foam on a wooden platform, so it was fairly hard. We only had one small towel each and no washcloths. The location was good and it was an easy walk to the cathedral. We had a nice view of the river from the window. We only stayed one night so spent minimal time in the room. I would not want to stay here again but it was OK for a passing through.

For our purposes, resting through a long journey, the hotel is easy for briefly leaving the main highway and rejoining. The car park is secure (the gate required 'phoning reception from our mobile - no intercom) with plenty of spaces right outside. The room (extra single bed on floor level as well as the usual overhead bunk) was reasonably spacious for our needs. Power sockets were limited for today's standards and required compromises to charge phones, toothbrush, run a laptop etc. We've used Ibis Budget before, so the lack of tea/coffee facilities in the room is no shock and the reception vending machines are excellent value. Cleanliness was good, particularly bedding and towels, but the walls and floors must make it hard work for the cleaners. There are numerous dirt traps which would be designed out of modern flooring, walls and shower fitments but, again, I had no complaints about the actual cleaning carried out. It can't help looking a bit tired compared to their more recently equipped chain (eg, Lormont). Summary: reasonable value for just sleeping (comfortably) on your travels.

Stopped here to break up the drive back to Paris after touring in Normandy and Brittany. For a modest price you get a spartan but spotless and fully functional hotel room. Everything clean. It is compact to say the least but for a road stop it worked perfectly. We felt very comfortable staying here. Dining options are limited to fast food across the highway unless you want to do more driving into Chartres itself. If we had it to do over, we'd stay here again.

We had one night at this delightful inner-city villa, behind its high walls and enjoying the secluded garden. Accommodation was in a garden room and breakfast was enjoyed with our fellow guests in the dining room. Our host was a Vietnamese lady who was very proud to display paintings of rural life in Vietnam by her father. Parking was secure and on site. We went into the city centre for the evening and visited the newly refurbished cathedral - a stunning and beautiful structure, showing the skill and creativity of ancient masons. To cap it all off there was a superb light-show and visual extravaganza projected onto the west face of the cathedral, displaying the spiritual journey of the city and its history since the 1789 French Revolution. A place to return to and a villa to stay in. It is pleasure to walk around the streets of the centre, which are just a short distance from the villa.

The hotel is located in the suburbs. If you don't drive, there is almost no place to go shopping and eating. The facilities and equipment are more like domestic business hotels. There is no special feature, the price is expensive, and the price is not high. Fortunately, the room is clean and quiet, there is free parking, and there are many types of buffet breakfast.
