The staff at the hotel were lovey and very helpful. The hotel is quite basic, no kettle etc. We had a triple room which was very clean with comfortable beds. Strangely the bathroom was almost the half the size of the bedroom. A bit hard to find staff when looking for a coffee or drinks. The location is great, only 2 blocks from the main street. The pool is lovely and there is a bar outside which was staffed. We were out before breakfast on an early flight so we cant comment on that.

We were greeted to the hottest, smallest room ever encountered even for European Standards... Turned on the AC, went out for a drink/food and chose to see how a good nights sleep would help. Staff were helpful to try to help us find what we needed, but it almost seemed like they still were learning the area... Then when we went to bed that is when the real fun began... The best (supposed to be a double bed for two people) was two twin beds pushed together... Not a problem... If the beds didn't separate at the slightest movement. God forbid you roll over in your sleep to the middle of the "bed" and and you end up on the floor... *sadly this is not an exaggeration.... No point mentioning to the staff... As there were no other rooms available , and wasn't sure there would be another option... So when you look at pics of two beds together... Think carefully... There will be surprises, if you don't sleep like a log, might want to cuddle with your partner..Etc..Bathroom was also interesting... Door would not open completely due to the toilet blocking the swing of the door... So to use toilet, you needed to position yourself between door, Sink and toilet with the sink jutting into you as you sit on the "throne". But again, we would have returned if only the bed had not been such a ridiculous a arrangement... In my opinion, easy fix would be to join the frame of the two beds together... Not that bed could be split them into two singles anyway... Shame, cause the location was primo.

Situated 22 kilometers from Barcelona (in Castelldefels) the BEST WESTERN Hotel Mediterraneo is a charming hotel with nice rooms, pool, excellent restaurant and a friendly crowd always willing to help you. It is located at the sea walk of the beach of Castelldefels, a little village just 20 minutes south of Barcelona. The hotel is next to train and bus stop to Barcelona Center as well as very near to Barcelona Airport (15 minutes) and Barcelona Congress Area (20 minutes). The Castelldefels beach is a very large, quiet and peaceful soft sand beach, perfect for walking, swimming and relaxing. Being the opposite of an overcrowded summer resort, Castelldefels is suitable to visit all year through. Our lovely village is popular amongst the Barcelona native people for the little high-quality restaurants and cocktail lounges. The BEST WESTERN Hotel Mediterraneo is a perfect destination to rest and relax. As of November 1, 2012, a tourist tax is applied in Catalonia - 1.00 EUR per person per night. It's counted for 7 days of continuous stay (exceeding days will not include the tourist tax). The additional tax is not included in the rate booked and must be paid at the property. All children under 16 years of age are not subject to payment of the tax. Enjoy your stay.

We found this hotel by luck the 1st time. Now we returned with the family. The area is a quiet residential suburb of Barcelona. A 15 min walk to all the bars and restaurants on the beach front of Castelldefels and the prom /beach that stretches for miles in both directions. A cheap taxi ride from the airport. A 5 min walk to the station for Sitges or for the 20min ride to Barcelona means you'll get to La Rambla faster than a walk from a central hotel. A peaceful nights sleep is guaranteed and the simple breakfast and well stocked bar are perfect for the start and end of the day. Being in a hotel away from Barcelona centre brings a lot of benefits (The staff are really helpful. Prices cheaper. Quieter.) We easily and cheaply hired a car at the airport. Straight forward 10 min drive to the hotel with free parking and we did day trips to Sitges and Cambrils. We also drove up to Encamp for 3 days skiing.

Our tour company EF tour book this hotel for 3 High School from the USA. Hotel is okay, the beach is 1.2km away from the hotel. Our room didn't have any TV. The personal where very friendly (if you speak Castellano is a plus, otherwise they don't speak English, only the receptionist do). We need to understand that European people are very quiet [I meet two receptionist that, where not very outgoing]. I have fun talking to Nuria and Paco the people who make sure you have a pleasant stay. You can be kind to ask to the receptionist something and they will answer you not very friendly [some of them, especially the night shift]. Around the hotel are places to go, groceries store, the beach.. across is a private English school, I had fun practicing with them English. I wish we have more time to know Barcelona. They speak Catalan, Spanish, and English. Barcelona is NOT Spain [that's what I was told, over and over 😬😬😬] Ps. I wanted to post pictures from Google photoa, but I can't! I will try later.. sorry!
