The Hotel Rossli was a nice hotel, just not what was advertised on Hotel.com. Hotel.com lists under Main Amenities rooftop terrace and restaurant/bar. Restaurant/bar was closed and there is no roof top terrace. Parking is available at the Parkhaus Opera city parking location, about a ten minute walk to hotel. Be sure to bring ticket to desk and you will receive a discounted parking rate. Room was quite large, especially the bathroom and very, modern and clean. There is an elevator, very small for two people with one carry on piece or one person with checked bag. Room had a Dyson fan, but no AC and it was a little warm for sleeping. Staff was extremely friendly and location of hotel was convenient; near tram lines. This is a couples or maybe business trip hotel; not set-up for families.

I had to arrange for a late check-in, booked a few hours before on my mobile (from the train) and they were brilliant. Everything ran smoothly with the self check-in. The hostel is walking distance from zurich main station down well lit main roads (along the river). When I arrived everything was quiet, despite it being late saturday night. I got ready and found my capsule, which was warm and comfy, and had an uniterupted nights sleep, which is pretty amazing for what is essentially a big shared dorm. I liked the extra privacy of the capsule rather than open bunks. Excellent value, would definately stay again.

The hotel is located in the old city of Zurich, in a good location, right next to the Grissmunster cathedral, across the street from the Limmat river, and convenient to every location in the old city. It is a 15-minute walk from the central railway station, and can also take 2 light rail stations. Close to Bahnhofstrasse, the service staff is very welcoming, in a hotel like Switzerland it is considered to be large, the room is still floor and very warm. Staying in the hotel has a touch of history.

I had a booking at Hotel California in July 2023 and they refused to let us check in to our room saying that we should pay for another room for my baby of 1 year and kid of 5 year although their booking policy clearly states that kids below 6 are welcomed and not considered as adults and even we have previously requested an extra bed/crib and they confirmed through booking. Our booking was fully paid in advance and they refused to help us and they were very rude and kept shouting at us and talked in a very rude way and i even asked them to check in the double room with my baby to change the diaper and that my husband will go for another hotel with my kid and they even refused!!! We asked to book another room for 1 night till we see another hotel on the second day and they even refused!!!! The chief called us and she was raising her voice and talking in a rude way and said they choose their customers and that the policy is common sense!!!! When i asked what does it mean concerning kids, she said it means that they don’t pay city tax!!!! And that she doesn’t care for the policy written and if kids are considered persons they should have a room like adults!!! And this is common sense!!! I asked if she can let her kids of 5 and 1 year alone in a room in a different country she said no she won’t but she wants us to do so!!! I asked to make the reservation for two rooms for one night and they even refused and said either to make two rooms for two nights or to leave!!!! And finally they told us that they won’t give us the room and they won’t talk to us as they have work!!!! We told them we r customers and this is also work and they just left us!!!!!! As they said they won’t talk to us about hundreds of euros while they have other important customers paying thousands and that talking to us is a waste of time and they just left us and went downstairs to the restaurant!!! Also, there was clear racism as the receptionist said you are here in Switzerland not in Egypt not in turkey not in the middle east we don’t welcome you here we have more important guests!!!!! While we are traveling the world as a family and paying for this!!! and it’s clearly that she never visited any other country to judge anyone!!! Or even to learn good English in order to be able to communicate with their important guests as she says and to stop interrupting everyone without understanding anything as she has a language barrier and not aware at all of how to deal with customers!!!! Cleary they have no ethics nor professionalism!!! We left the hotel and we booked a double room in another hotel in the same are and they were so friendly and helped us a lot unlike the hotel we originally booked for!!!!! After we contacted booking for the case and requested the full refund and upon communicating with the hotel, they came back to us stating that the hotel claims that we damaged a phone during our stay and that they want 50 euros!!!!! We replied that this is completely unacceptable and

This has to be the worst hotel I have stayed at in my life! Right from the very beginning I should have known what lied ahead. There is no reception desk. Check in is at the bar. There is no information posted anywhere and if you check in at a normal hour chances are you will find no one there to help. The lady who runs the place is nowhere to be found and guests are left to fend for themselves. We were there for 4 nights and not once did our room get cleaned. We ran out of toilet paper and clean towels and had to chase down the cleaning lady to get more. The room was a dirty mess from the minute we walked in. Dirty coffee cups, wrappers, and spoons from the previous occupants and we only got 1 towel apiece. The bed is right up by the bathroom door so if you’re standing next to the bed and someone walks out of the bathroom, you will get hit by the door every time. The elevator didn’t work properly and made a horrible noise until we were too afraid to use it anymore; sure enough, it stopped working. The cleaning lady was left to check people in since the owner sleeps in and doesn’t show up until late in the afternoon. Problem is, cleaning lady only speaks Spanish. We had to help her communicate with 3 separate couples who couldn’t understand her. They don’t have maps to help you get around the city and there is no one to ask. In a nutshell…DON’T stay at this hotel!!!! I cannot emphasize it enough! Pictures are deceiving.

Although this hotel belongs to a hotel chain, our stay was perfect. The situation is very close to the Bahnhofstrasse (near to the LV store). The staff was flexible and managed everything to be convenient and pleasant for us. The room was clean, well appointed. The bed was extremely comptable (very rare in hotels in general). Also, the breakfast was really appreciated, you get exactly what you expect in a hotel : eggs, salmon, fresh exotic fruits, juices, breads, cheese, etc, etc. We recommend!

Dear EMA House Team (1 Nordstrasse Zurich) I have been staying with you on and off since May 2023. I cant rate you high enough, 5 Stars don't do justice. You are a fantastic team who have accommodated all my plan changes, even when it was at a short notice due to flight cancellations etc. The place is spotless and much better than any hotel in Central Zurich. I don't even think about looking for any other place in the city. I always feel very welcome when I arrive even when it was late at night. The suites are modern, clean, specious and very comfortable. Elegant, older, well maintained, albeit a bit dated, the hotel is located directly across the street from the Zurich main train station and trolleys. If, as we did, you want to be within easy walking distance of the train station this is a great location. If you want to be in a very quiet location on or close to the lake, this is not where you want to stay. There is a small grocery store in the underground passageway to the train station. The hotel common areas are well-maintained, and it has a small bakery and bar that serves a very good dinner. There is a separate restaurant space on the second floor that only serves breakfast, and the food and the staff are excellent and it’s fairly priced. However, the hotel does not have a conventional restaurant. The lobby and rooms are small by american standards, but very quiet and well-appointed, have a good bed and the bathroom has a bath/shower combo with very good water pressure (and air conditioning). The small electric refrigerator in the room was set up as a mini-bar, but it was ok to remove the bottles. It does not get very cold. We were upgraded to a small suite with a sitting room, so I don’t know what a standard room would be like. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. There did not appear to be a concierge. The hotel allowed us to check-out 2 hours later, which we appreciated. All in all, a very good hotel for the price. However, if you’re looking for a very high-end american-style hotel, this may not be for you, but you should expect to pay two to three times more for those hotels

The location is very good, it is close to the city center, and there is a public tram stop nearby. But we are self-driving tours. There is no paid large public parking lot. The so-called parking lots shown on the mobile phone map are private or supermarkets. In short, he will not give you parking as soon as the supermarket closes. Payment is not paid or paid. But there is also a way to find the white ground line meter . on the street can be parked for free until 9 am, and then continue for two hours . In short, if you drive over, don't look like we stormed looking for a public parking lot in this area, you can't find it, put it on the street. There is no picky place to live. There is also a cute small terrace that is to study how to open the iron curtains for a while. It turned out that the switch was on the back of a wooden frame, not on the window. The cleanliness is high, the space is large, the cabinet is very beautiful, and it is also equipped with a dishwasher, which is very convenient. This is our dinner. Everything is good. If you want to be picky, the two cooking pots are not very useful. I hope to finish these small things. It will be perfect. Next time I come to Zurich, I will live in this room, because the check-in is simple, he will give you a password and press the password key at the door and fall off, and there is a lock at the gate, the whole seat is safer, there is also an elevator Don't worry about luggage . But on the last day, I have to leave and open this apartment and move to the hotel, because he has no luggage storage

I stayed for around 3 months as in international visitor during COVID lockdown in 2020 in one of the large rooms. The staff were all lovely, and the room was fantastic with a big, comfortable bed, luxurious bathroom with large bathtub, and separate living area with a large desk which enabled me to easily work / study while there. The location is great, close to the lively Langstrasse but far enough away to be very quiet! Very good for business travellers - just note that there are no kitchen facilities / fridge in the room (this is made clear in the room descriptions)! You have to be prepared for what you will get here: check-in at the counter of a busy convenience store, followed by a climb up a bunch of stairs. At the end of them, the room is extremely small, though very clean. We appreciated the small sink and refrigerator, as well as the free coffee on offer in the store. The worst thing about our experience was tremendous noise from some machine in the street at 2 in the morning — louder than anything I’ve ever heard in an urban setting before. Still, in the world’s most expensive city, the price felt like a bargain, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Just short walk into Zurich or down the Polybahn. We ate in the vegan cafe on the corner next to the hotel and the Italian nearby. Great spots. We stayed in both the main hotel and in the guesthouse across the alley and were quite satisfied if both facilities knowing they been renovated within the last year. The main hotel is right around the corner from Zürich HB the rooms feature a nice private bath (new, big & clean) and nice modern styling. The guesthouse as new and stylish as hotels go, but the modular bath/shower unit with its semi-transparent blue glass leaves a lot to be desired when everyone in the room knows what your doing on toilet (very little privacy). We luckily are prepared and carry large binder clips and clipped a bath towel across the glass during our stay. The staff are amazing and extremely cordial. Free coffee/tea is offered 24/7 in the main hotel and on each floor. Guest house residents must go back across the alley to the main lobby. Day tour buses are right across the street for easy access. We would stay again definitely.

Very tidy and in very good order for such a pleasantly priced hotel. We didn't find a scratch on the wallpaper, not a speck of dirt on the floor. The breakfast is not a buffet, but it is tasty, personally served and more than sufficient. It is, as the name says, close to the station, but you all benefit from that, not a disadvantage, because the neighborhood is completely okay. You are in a few walking minutes in the restaurants and cafes area of Zurich. Great to visit the city if you want to keep it affordable.

This is a hard review to write. 2 nights here. The hotel itself is fine. Tastefully refurbished, with a dose of quirkiness. We had two linked rooms, with a small sitting room and balcony (with a total non-view). Check in was polite and efficient. Breakfast was excellent, with high quality buffet and eggs cooked to order in front of you. Kept running out of fruit juice, however. Replenishment could be better. We were in the mid European heatwave, reaching 37C in the afternoons. When we first entered the rooms, the ”aircon” was on at full and incredibly noisy blast, yet the rooms felt very warm. I assumed they've just turned it on prior to our arrival. After a very hot evening out, I was relishing a cool bedroom to sleep in (having left the ”aircon” on whilst out). Arriving back, I was dismayed to find my room was 28C. I went down to reception, but the night staff were completely uninterested and unsympathetic. He said ”we don't have air conditioning, we have air movement”. I said it was utterly useless, and he said that the Swiss government had banned air conditioning. There was nothing he could do. I returned to my room and sweated the night away with no sleep whatsoever. I felt truly terrible in the morning. The morning staff were far more understanding and offered to put fans in the room, which did help but only slightly. This place is not remotely cheap (even for Zurich, where everything is at least 50% more than you would pay anywhere else), and especially the rooms we had. Tripadvisor shows aircon as an amenity for the hotel, and for this price I would simply take it for granted. To say aircon is ”banned” is patent rubbish, as we went into dozens of shops, bars, restaurants that were crisply cool. I checked the hotel's main competitors and all have full aircon. I did some research, and it seems the government are indeed making it difficult to put aircon into new builds and refurbs. Seidenhof needs to get lobbying, as these weather events are going to become much more frequent and nobody is going to pay its prices to stay in a hotel with no aircon. This ruined our stay in Zurich. If the Swiss government are serious about the environment, they should tax out of existence the nose-to-tail supercars that clutter Zurich's roads instead of targeting the one thing that makes living with climate change tolerable. Whilst they're at it, they should also ban plastic drinking straws (as in the UK), which do such terrible damage to marine wildlife.

We stayed here one quick night on an overnight layover. It is a bit touristy with a strong ”Zurich theme.” However, it was very comfortable and in a great location in old Zurich which is what we wanted. We arrived in the late afternoon and received chocolate welcome gifts upon check in. We took a guided walking tour of old Zurich that we had arranged separately and ate dinner in the hotel restaurant. It was pricey, and, again, probably not a place locals go, but we had good fondue and raclette. We had a much better experience than if we would have stayed at an airport hotel. We feel like we really visited Switzerland, if only for a night. Our room was spacious and comfortable. I wish we could have stayed longer.

The room is quite big and relatively new. The parking fee is 15 per night. It is very environmentally friendly. There are no disposable slippers and toothbrushes. The room is well soundproofed and clean. The location is not too biased.

Very nice and spacious rooms with a nice view of the city center and great location with closeness to all the places to shop, eat, boutiques and best access to the train station and stops. Breakfast was so nice with the staff who welcomed us and the reception area and service from Andre and Chantal were the very very best. Always willing to help us out and check in to see how were were doing, giving us great tips for going around the city and best places to find local foods and deals. Only wish that we could have stayed longer!
