Our room was quite large and had a large bathroom as well. We had a view of Marina Picola and surrounding area. The Bay of Naples ferries all stop right downstairs and there Re many nearby restaurants as well as a nearby elevator that takes you to the main square on too of the cliff. Truly a beautiful place on earth. We rented a boat right downstairs it took us to ue Grotto, all around Capri, Positano for lunch and Amalfi town. Also took us to other caves and waterfalls in the area that are not teeming with tourists. The most beautiful clearest waters. The entire region takes your breath away and this is the perfect hotel to experience it all from. Very central to all of Sorrento.

We have just returned from a wonderful few days at the Al Centro Suites located in the heart of Sorrento. There are just three, modern, self contained apartments and we stayed in the one called ‘Ortensia’. Our room was delightful, comfortable and very tastefully furnished. The room was on two floors with a small kitchen, seating area and shower-room/toilet downstairs and a double bedroom upstairs. We also had a good-sized balcony with view across the bay. We chose to have breakfast each day and this consisted of yoghurt, fresh fruit, croissants, pastries, and toasties plus orange juice, coffee or tea. Breakfast was delivered to our room each day at a time we chose. The Al Centro Suites are close to the main square of Sorrento, and close to many bars and restaurants and only a short distance to the path and lift that takes you down the cliff to the port where we caught ferries to Capri, Positano and Amalfi. Also close to the railway station where we caught the train to Pompeii. Very friendly and helpful staff who gave us lots of advice on where to go, what to see, train and ferry times. We would certainly use the Al Centro Suites again if we visit Sorrento again in the future. By the way, we chose to use the Curreri Viaggi transfer coach which goes from Naples airport, all the way to Sorrento train station for only 10 euros per person and takes about 1-1.5 hours. You can either book online in advance, or pay the driver. We thought this was great value, so easy, and gave us great views of the coastline en route.

We stayed here for 3 nights in January. Pluses: - Free buffet breakfast (cold items only) - Fast, free wifi - Lots of outlets - Great location off Piazza Tasso, and on Piazza San Antonio - Lift, if such things matter to you - Clean, quiet, secure - in-room coffee/tea, refrigerator Minuses: - It's cold at night in January, but we had to ask twice to get an extra blanket so we wouldn't freeze - Housekeeping never refilled our coffee/tea/sugars/biscuits for the length of our stay - Manager came INTO OUR ROOM, using his key, despite a DO NOT DISTURB on the door. We were taking a nap and it scared us. Totally unacceptable. - There are twice as many rooms as tables at breakfast. In the offseason, this is not a problem; however, signs on the walls saying "Don't linger at breakfast" tell me that it IS a problem in summer, and the hotel needs a better solution than pushing guests out (I like to linger over coffee! I'm on holiday!) -

We took a Curreri Viaggi transfer service car from Naples airport to the Surriento Suites. The driver was not equipped with a GPS and became lost. He had to stop several times to ask for directions but could not figure out which way to go. I looked up the name Surriento Suites, Sorrento and the iPhone map showed that we had gone three miles too far south. I finally convinced him to call the hotel for directions (he didn’t seem to trust the GPS). When we finally arrived, Pamela was already waiting to greet us at the front of Ruccio Bar & Restaurant, which is in the same building as the Suite. Pamela took our luggage up the stairs to our suite and thoroughly briefed us on the hotel, Sorrento, Capri, and Pompei. The only thing she left out was the operation of the television. We don’t watch much TV but wanted to catch up on the news in English. After fiddling it for some time, I found the CNN channel, but the signal was scrambled so it would not come in. After further fiddling, I did find the BBC channel that was in English. The suite was stocked with a variety of tea, pastries, fruit, cereal, juice, milk, bread, bottled water, meats, eggs, yogurt, cheese, coffee, snacks, and condiments., more than we could ever want or consume. The normal morning meal is served in Ruccio Bar and you have three choices of breakfasts to choose from, however, when we arrived for our first breakfast, the restaurant was closed (later we found out that it was an Italian holiday). Pamela offered to reimburse us for any breakfast that we found in the town, but we decided to make our meal at the suite and found that self-made breakfast and the view of the harbor was more than satisfying. Pamela served us special treat of hazelnut cream-filled croissants on our arrival and the second evening we found rum Babas that were exceptionally delicious. The hotel itself is located on the north side of the building, on the beachfront of the Marina Piccola. It is hidden from the view as you come down on the road from downtown to the waterfront, but the GPS will clearly show exactly where the hotel front door is located. The view from our suite was stunning and one can see Mt. Vesuvius (about 15 miles away) across the Bay of Naples. It’s all about location and we felt that you can’t beat this location for view and convenience. The Capri ferry docks only one minute away, the local bus service to Sorrento is 30 seconds away, and the Circumvesuviana train to Pompei is 10 minutes’ walk. All the Sorrento’s historical landmarks, museums, and great restaurants are only a few minutes’ walk away. We should have stayed longer and the next year we will. You couldn't ask for a more gracious, thoughtful and helpful host as Pamela.

We (unfortunately) stayed only one night last Friday. This is a true gem in a former monastery. Lovely staff, wonderful tiled decor, the most comfortable bed I ever slept in. Large rooms with high ceilings .Breakfast was excellent, served in the kitchen, to be eaten in the little breakfast room or on the terrace (weather permitting). Omelettes cooked to your liking, espresso from their machine, bread and cold cuts as well as cakes and salads, a huge variety of products,. Extremely welcoming and competent staff. No parking, but within minutes they had called a valet which took our car and delivered it to us again the next day for EUR 18.Would love to stay again.

Loved this little boutique hotel located on a side street a few steps from the main Tassos Square. It had a sophisticated look and updated fixtures. Loved our room. Had interesting lighting over the bed that could be changed to soothing colors. Concrete floors, but still very attractive. We had a private patio. The bathroom was modern liked everything, but the bowl sink with a faucet extending to the middle of the bowl. A blow dryer, coffee maker and safe included. Breakfast was typical European. Plenty of good choices! Would stay there again.

I booked this accommodation as it was able to offer 2 doubles adjacent to each other as I was on a trip with my Dad. The beds are really comfy (not too soft or hard), and the suite and rooms clean and tidy. The apartment was located just off of the Main Street in Sorrento, so ideally suited for restaurants and the meeting point for the 2 tours we booked onto. Imma and her brother were very friendly. Imma in particular was a great help in the lead up to our stay by arranging a taxi to pick us up from the airport and then also for our return. She was contactable throughout our stay so if you have any questions she was happy to answer them. The only thing I would say, as a word of note only, is that breakfast included in the room (this is a roll with some meat and cheese, a croissant and a yoghurt - perfectly fine for breakfast and set you nicely up for the day) is served from 8am as I think they buy it fresh from a local shop. This may not be a problem for most, but if you have tours/ activities booked that require you to meet them at 8am then you will go without breakfast. If breakfast is important to you, my suggestion is to message the accommodation ahead with your travel plans so that can try to accommodate these. At the end of the day though, it’s easy and cheap to pick up breakfast elsewhere so this is not a negative but thought it may be useful for some to know. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and I would recommend the suite to anyone else I know visiting.

Wonderfully central apartment being one minute off the Palazza Tasso. @8 mins walk from the station or if coming by ferry like we did you can take the mini bus (€1.30) port lift (€1), taxi or walk which with bags is not advisable as its pretty steep with lots of steps. We had apartment Caruso with a balcony and view of Vesuvius. You can also use the rooftop terrace but we had no need. Bedroom, two bathrooms, kitchen and sitting area and safe. There is a washing machine in this apartment which was fantastic and clothes on the drier on the balcony at night were dry the next day (it was very hot during our week). The staff are around on the floor below from 9.30 am to 9 at night. Sometimes they are off sorting out their guests at other apartments in Sorrento but there are contact numbers. Simone gave us a lovely and helpful welcome, other staff were also pleasant and happy to chat and give advice. They can also organise trips but we did our own thing. The kitchen has basic cooking implements but you wouldn't want to cook a full meal. Think camping cooking and this would be more like it. There are multiple places to eat within a stones throw but sometimes you just fancy a boiled egg and toast and this you can achieve albeit without an egg cup! There is a supermarket just off the P.Tasso @5 mins away which is well stocked and even has some gluten free bits and pieces. The downside; the apartment is on a noisy road so traffic noise is constant. It also overlooks the Excelsior Vittoria hotel. They played music most nights at their outdoor restaurant untill about 11.30 and on Fri and Sat had live music which was very loud so we went out to avoid listening to it. It was either that or just join in by dancing on the rooftop terrace and making the most of the free entertainment. Great spot for watching the fireworks which seemed to being going off around Sorrento most nights. Some small issues maintenance issues with the apartment but none of this stopped us enjoying our stay. Sorrento was ideal for exploring the Amalfi coast, the islands and Pompii and we would be happy to return to the Agora apartments for its convenience, the space it offered and the view from the balcony.

I would say that this is probably one of my most favourite stays in any hotel I have stayed at. The hotel is so small, but don't let that put you off, its means personalised service, beautiful rooms and excellent breakfast with fresh fruits, homemade cakes (they are to die for) and eggs of your choice every day. We stayed 4 nights and really didn't want to leave. The room was immaculate, large, bright and airy with views over the streets below. The B&B is situated on a quiet street but you are in the heart of everything, its a perfect location. Its just the most perfect spot and they have thought of everything. I have recommended the hotel to everyone I know that is thinking of visiting Sorrento, as it was a truly amazing stay.

My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights while we explored the Amalfi coast. One thing I wish we were aware of is how easily you can walk to the hotel with your luggage from the ferry. We waited for a taxi and paid 15 euros for a one minute ride. Our mistake I guess for not further investigating. We were blown away by the views when we entered the hotel. Not to mention the beautiful grounds. The hotel itself is very pretty, an old mansion by the sea. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. Our first impression of the room was ok. Unfortunately we had many ants in our room. The next day we mentioned it to the front desk and after that we never saw one ant ever again. We had a pool view room. The sea view was sold out. I enjoyed our patio overlooking the pool and hills behind Sorrento. It was never noisy. We slept good. A couple mornings it rained so we slept late, missing the breakfast but if you call down they will bring it to your room which was so nice! We never ate lunch or dinner at the hotel because there were just too many options nearby and we wanted to be surrounded by the culture of Sorrento instead of sitting inside the quiet hotel. The front desk staff has great suggestions for dinner and will call to make reservations. They arranged our day trip to Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius. We really enjoyed that tour, I highly recommend. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel for the service, location can't be beat, the bar was a highlight for drinks before dinner (best old fashions ever had), and views of the sea.

Arrive and feel good ... the best of the best. A small modest entrance holds a heavenly top restored hotel in a central location. I entered and experienced Swiss perfection, German precision, English elegance paired with Italian cordiality and Dolce Vita. A narrow staircase led me upstairs in a simple, clean and discreet reception and immediately I could leave the everyday life and the city noise, which still hung from Naples and the street in my ears, behind me. Nothing is left to chance here! Everything thought out to the smallest detail for my (and other guests') personal well-being. A modern elevator transports me to my room in a new, clean Italian lifestyle. The palm trees behind the house, which I can see out of the window remind me of more southern areas. Both rooms, as well as bath deserve more than four stars, great soundproofing made sure that I was not allowed to hear the city noise, nor the notorious Italian clubs ;-) An exclusive luxury, absolutely not self-evident in Italy and countries maintain a extensive evening culture! Occupationally, I am in a lot of hotels and therefore expected not much as being a 80% raw vegetarian. But again: waiting for me was a small but very fine, exquisitely selected breakfast with mature, fresh fruit and vegetables of the season in room temperature (!!!), super delicious croissants (already I was back to my 20% ... Italy :-) ) and here comes: 3 homemade Italian cakes, as from Mamma! Gorgeous ... I still revel! Judging from the amount, how the other guests took cheese, fish and cold cuts it must have been the same fine quality. The entire staff was professional, accommodating, friendly and helpful even though they all had a long summer season behind them (this cannot be taken for granted ...). Even the night porter, who received me after a long evening for my part, welcome me with a smile even it was already very late... The hotel is well connected, in addition to a pleasant stay, it also offers exclusive and unforgettable boat trips, which I will surely will try next time! This time I enjoyed Sorrento, its quiet swimming area and the Amalfi coast. Dolce Vita - Palazzo Tritone & Abagnale absolutely recommended, 5 ***** from my side :-)

Hotels Near Ristorante Ruccio In Sorrento Review

Overall I think it’s a good hotel: great location, clean room, good service (except what happened next). However the hotel is severely understaffed especially in the evening) and one of the receptionists is under-trained, unprofessional and incompetent. I had an unpleasant exchange with the male receptionist who works the evening shift. Due to what happened in the coming days, I will make this feedback constructive rather than blaming. In the first night of our stay, we realized the AC did not blow warm air. Because it was late, I turned off the AC before falling to sleep. Then vary early in the morning, both my wife and I felt cold. However we had to leave at 7AM for Amalfi coast tour the second day, we did not see the receptionist and did not have time for the breakfast in the hotel (met the lady who prepare the breakfast in the lobby). After we returned in the evening, we still could not make the AC work so I spoke to the receptionist who promised to come up in 5 minutes to take a look. After 30 minutes he did not show up so we went down to have our dinner. We saw him (the receptionist) in the lobby, he then said he was busy and could help us now. We went up with him to our room and he seemed not have a clue. I suggested him to call for some support but he did not want to because it was late (it was around 18:30-19:00). After a painful 15 minutes, we decided to leave for our dinner and told him to lock the door once he was done. We came back from our dinner one hour later, he simply told me that we had to wait for tomorrow and there was nothing he could do now. I was not too happy so told him that we paid for the heating and it is not right to leave your guests in the cold 2 of the 3 nights. He first argued that it was not cold, but I told him 1) it might not be cold now but it was 3AM in the morning and 2) it was not important how he felt but how his guests feel. He then try to put the blame on me because I did not report the problem in the morning (we did not get the chance to do so as I said in the beginning). He was not apologetic at all in the whole process. The second day in the morning, I told the receptionist in the morning shift about what happened the day before. She behaved professionally and apologized and promised to fix the problem. The AC was fixed what we returned in the evening; there was a small bottle of wine and 2 bottles of water in our room. I was happy for the final outcome. I do suggest however that the hotel should have some level of support to resolve problem like heating etc., and re-train certain staff so that the staff respect not blame hotel’s guests.

Firstly this hotel is quite upscale so from the moment we arrived the staff on reception were very professional and welcoming, checking in process was simple and only took moments ( you know sometimes it can take ages ) then straight to our room and the luggage arrived a few minutes later. We booked the classic with sea view and it was a decent size and the view was of the sea but wish we could have had a slightly better view. The room had huge wardrobe, mini bar bar/ fridge, coffee making machine plus a kettle, room safe and air con , it was super clean and the bed and linen were the highest quality and extremely comfortable. The bathroom had all you need with complimentary soaps etc etc. Pool area is a decent size and sunbeds very comfortable, courtesy towels are provided and there is a elevated cafe area ( which actually goes over a quarter of the pool ) only downside was the amount of flies and mosquitos but that's what you get in a hot humid climate. ( buy some spray ) Breakfast was superb with a great choice of hot and cold items plus a many cake & bun options. All staff were nice but special mention about our room cleaner who kept the room clean and tidy 👏👏 And as a final point the hotel is only a 4 minute walk into Piazza Tasso , about 15 mins to the train station and restaurants start about 2 minutes away. That about covers it , super hotel in a super location so no hesitation in recommending the Continental.

My husband and I recently came here for our honeymoon, and we were so happy we did. The hotel has a good location; a short walk to the center of town, beautiful views. The property and room were well maintained, and clean. We were very comfortable. The building and property is gorgeous; it is modern, but still respects the original building. From 2 people with an architectural background, we really appreciated the amount of detail was placed in the building and rooms. The staff were incredible; we had such great service and enjoyed interacting with them. The Lorelei restaurant has some of the best food that we have ever tried. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The waiters were knowledgeable on the ingredients and were able to recommend some local wines and foods for us to try there. A+ service. We can't wait to return!

Lovely grand hotel in an amazing location so central to everything with the main square just a few minutes walk away. Probably the friendliest and most helpful staff ever encountered in a hotel - from the cleaners to the receptionists - and an extra special mention to Francesco the maître de who went above and beyond (organising a beautiful chocolate cake for my fiancé’s birthday and then singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to him - he made us feel almost part of the family! Rooms were huge, spotlessly clean and with the most incredible views! We had breakfast here every morning with the most gorgeous views and an excellent range of food to choose from. Very good value for money hotel - we would highly recommend and would love to come back!

I spent 4 nights with my family in this wonderful bed& breakfast in the real downtown of Sorrento and everything was perfect! The position Is strategic for visiting all the coast, as well as Pompei and Capri. Very close to train station and Sorrento harbour. Breakfast Is eccellent, with homemade cakes and marmelades, fruit and cold/hot drinks. Rooms are really new,Wide and comfortable, full of innovative appliances and spotless. There' a basket with cookies and crackers and coffee/tea boiler. The fridge Is daily refurbished with cold drinks. Even if you are really downtown you can sleep like a baby! Everything Is calm and silent! But what makes the real difference Is the presence of the two owners Vera and Antonino: they are very professional (they can suggest and even organize any excursion) but really open hurted...they put a lot of passion in Giardino segreto and ...you can feel it! I highly recommend this B&B and I Hope to go back soon!!
