Hotels Near Rivers To Go In Chicago
0.2km from Rivers To GoThis is a terrific place to stay if you are looking for lower price and easy walking distance to many things. I have stayed here before and would stay again. The rooms are fine and mine was quiet, being at the end of the hall. Being on the second floor, however, I was glad it was a Saturday night stay, as my room is very close to the dumpsters which would probably be emptied on a weekday morning... Staff was welcoming and lobby area and breakfast area are quite nice. Very limited breakfast - I was expecting eggs, etc., but instead it was only pork sausage and gravy over biscuits, or waffles. Not a fan, but I guess they can't please everyone! The bed was comfortable except that you could definitely tell which side had been slept on more - it was like climbing a mountain to roll the other direction. Maybe they need to turn the mattress more often? Overall, a great place to stay!
0.24km from Rivers To GoI stayed here for two nights. Initially I was impressed with exterior - really nice tall building in central location, rooms are large with great bathroom, sofa, tv and bed. The gym is also excellent with great equipment, water fountain, toilet and lovely scenery. However, I was extremely disappointed by some things. Firstly, the SHOWER it was lukewarm the entire time and there was little power it was like a trickle, this is hard to understand given the bathroom looks great. I suspect to save hot water, but this is a major factor in overall experience. Second, the location of the room was RIGHT next to a building on an alleyway so I had zero natural sunlight and had to keep my blinds closed the entire time. This is misleading and not made explicit when you book the room. Thirdly, the corridors are noisy some of the time, as well there was both smells of cigarette smoke and marijuana. I have to say I was very surprised by this, especially in a Hyatt hotel.. There was also no water in the room.
0.42km from Rivers To GoThis time to attend the Chicago Marathon, the hotel is satisfactory, first of all, the location is good, the airport Blue Line Metro Washington Station is 5 minutes down, walk to the start of the marathon 20 minutes. The neighborhood where the hotel is located is a financial center with high-rise buildings, which is a place where the Hollywood movie is often taken. In front of the hotel is the Chicago Marathon around 5K. The room should have breakfast, and the meal never has to look at the room card. Although the meal is not rich, the quality and choice are good. The hotel staff are very friendly and the other tenants encountered are also very polite. It was wise to choose a suite this time. With the living room and kitchen, the event space was a lot bigger. The windows in the room were soundproof and I could hear the sound of the car on the street.
0.43km from Rivers To GoMarriott Titanium. Had a weekend staycation with the wife. If I could choose again, I would have picked another property. Good hard product, below average soft product. Pros: - Location: We live in the city so it was nice to stay in a different part, the Financial District, which is very quiet during the weekend. - The Florentine (on-site restaurant): The food is very good, but the staff at the restaurant is amazing. We ate 3 meals there bc room service is not being offered at this time and the staff was amazing the entire time. They deserve 5 stars. - Rooms: Recently updated rooms. Cons: You know how you can tell the weekend is going to go as soon you deal with check in? That was this situation. - Titanium benefits: The least you can do is acknowledge my loyalty. Lounge is closed, which I understand due to Covid, but 1k points instead of offering a breakfast instead is something I would expect from a Residence Inn or Courtyard. - Requests not followed up: Asked for run of the mill things (water, extra pillows) to be sent up, but required follow up calls and requests to get them. - Front of house staff: I got the feeling that they did not want to be there. I know that the hotel industry is strange right now with Covid and uncertainties. However, I would think that when they do get a guest with loyalty they would make a bit of an effort to make them feel more welcome. If this is how the hotel operates now, I would expect the same during normal times. The restaurant is giving this hotel an average stay vs below average. I will not be back.
0.47km from Rivers To GoOur room was on the small side with furnishings that are either weird or artsy depending on your point of view. In addition to the very comfortable bed our room had a credenza containing the refrigerator/minibar and safe, a desk and a couple of small pouffes for seating. A small table and comfy chair would have been a nice touch but there wasn't space. As others have noted, the walls are rather thin, so keep it down! Like the bedroom, the bathroom was also compact. Disappointingly in this day and age, it still had a tub rather than a walk-in shower. Everything was clean and worked, so no complaints there. I was a little surprised by the lack of USB outlets. I also didn't care for the main room light which was as charmless as an old fluorescent tube. Kimptons pride themselves on a friendly vibe, and the Allegro didn't disappoint. Here the wine hour that sister hotels have is replaced by a prosecco hour. And for those who may not want prosecco there was a mulled cider alternative. Location is a big feature of this hotel. It's right in the theater district, about three blocks south of the river and five or six west of Michigan Ave. (I'll confess I didn't actually count.) There are restaurants all around, and especially just across the river in the River North neighborhood. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but I don't think the Allegro is quite as good as the nearby Kimptons. That's mostly down to the small room and thin walls although the furnishings and equipment were just a little sub-par too. Would I stay here again? Maybe.
0.48km from Rivers To GoHotel- Kimpton Gray (Chicago, IL) Date- November 2020 (2 nights) Overall: 5/5. Excellent. This hotel is inside the refurbished New York Life building, where marble staircases, flooring, walls, and columns abound. This is a beautiful property. Rewards Club Recognition- 5/5. Excellent. We were thanked for our loyalty, and our room was upgraded. As Spire Elite loyalty club members, we were also given a $10 Raid-the-Bar credit for use at the ‘bodega’. Staff- 5/5. Excellent. Bobby, at the reception, checked us into the hotel. He was kind and attentive. He greeted us each time we passed by and was eager to please. Alexis was engaging and eager to ensure we had everything we could ask for throughout our stay. Krystal was a pleasure to interact with during our second day, as well. This was such a good guest services experience! Property Appearance & Maintenance- 5/5. Excellent. Exterior- 5/5. The two entrances are both clean, and the hotel is well branded. Interior- 5/5. The entrance stairway and corridor have a grand air about them. There are marble stairways, tile floors, and an elevator bay with golden elevators, on the entrance floor; the reception is on the second floor, along with the lobby. The hallway carpets and baseboards are clean and have very few scuffs. The wallpaper and paint are in good shape. Accommodations- 5/5. Excellent. We were assigned a “King Spa” room. The room was comfortable and spacious. The bedding was comfortable, and we slept well. The room contained all the advertised features: flat screen tv, soaking tub separate from the shower,… We were very happy with our accommodations. Housekeeping- 5/5. Excellent. Our room was quite clean. The floors had been vacuumed, and the bathroom was spotless. Toiletry items and towels were all provided in a supply adequate for the length of our stay. Pool/Gym- The gym is closed during the pandemic. Breakfast/Meal Options- 3/5. Average, for during the pandemic. No food options are available since both restaurants are closed. The minibars are emptied, but the usual contents are available at the front desk for purchase. Social/wine hour is from 5p until 6p, and small bottles of wine are provided at the front desk, for enjoyment in the guest room or lobby (while practicing physical distancing, of course). Coffee service is also moved to the front desk. Laundry- Not evaluated. The usual pricing sheet and laundry bag are in the room, and the prices are typical for a hotel of this class. Computer/Printer/WiFi- 5/5. WiFi was strong throughout the hotel, and streaming was smooth. Other- Valet parking is discontinued during the pandemic; parking at a nearby garage is recommended, and with a validated ticket, in and out privileges were provided for $30/night. Sanitizing stations were present throughout the hotel.
0.53km from Rivers To GoHere we are 28 years later for our anniversary stay at a Hyatt in Chicago. Times have changed and Hyatt is doing a wonderful job with the challenges facing all of us. Nothing is stopping us from enjoying our travel here and the fantastic hospitality of Hyatt. The Monroe Street location was centrally located for us with a 20 minute walk to Union Station and about the same to the Chicago River Walk. Restaurant in the hotel is closed but there are plenty close by.
0.53km from Rivers To GoThe rooms were clean, large, and quite bright. I had a corner room with windows on two sides and it’s was lovely. Bed was comfy, appreciated the ceiling fan. Only complaint was related to parking. I did online checkin, and said I’d be parking when asked. When I checked out they gave me a physical key for exiting parking (I used digital key). When I tried to exit the key wouldn’t work. You have to call hotel then, and wait for them to send valet over. When he came over he shamed me for trying to leave without paying because I wasn’t on his list. I don’t know why I wasn’t on the list when I chose parking option during check in, and spoke to desk to get my key to exit - but his attitude was uncalled for.
0.55km from Rivers To GoAngela provided incredible service to my family when we were checking in 2/28/20. There was a mixup with my sisters reservation, and Angela was very capable, helpful, and pleasant in helping us have the rooms we needed. Her attitude and service were exceptional, and we were grateful for it. Thanks to her and the hotel for a great family reunion. Tobin Mills
0.57km from Rivers To GoLOCATION LOCATION LOCATION - so this place is in the middle of all the Chicago goodies. Maybe this is just the perspective of a tourist and I can't speak for parking or ease of driving but for my fellow proud and lazy cheapskates who still enjoy some class, public transit outlets (the L, buses, subway, etc...) are incredibly easy to get to from here. We were fortunate to get a room with quite the view, but I would imagine it would be rare to have a room without one since it's smack dab center metropolis. THE PEEPS - Every encounter we had with the staff was pleasant, the people here are professional yet chill, and had some awesome recommendations to satisfy the cringey tourist while also tossing in some hotspots to allow us to attempt blending in with the locals. I'm a sucker for some solid Midwest hospitality, and by Billy Bob George ya'll done it. THE PRICE - This is most definitely one of the highest quality stays i've enjoyed for the lowest price. Full disclosure, we booked through Expedia, and this room had just what we needed for plenty of nights out. As far as I've seen, they do not include fridges and microwaves, but don't be a ninny. You're in the city with a variety of world famous top tier grub, plus the price of the stay provides the opportunity to go out and treat yourself. 37/10 would definitely stay here again. As should you :)

0.57km from Rivers To GoI decided to take a quick visit to Chicago and chose to stay at the Club Quarters Hotel in central loop Chicago. I stayed oct 23-25th. Upon arrival I was soon greeted and welcomed by guest service manager Billy Burrage, who I must say will leave a lasting impression lol. He made sure I had a touch free check in experience, which was nice, considering the current health scare. The man is endowed with enthusiasm and he welcomed me with grace, charm and a friendly, cheerful demeanor. I appreciated his service, now give the man a promotion already lol! Thanks for your kindness! It makes staying at a hotel a more pleasurable experience. Now the hotel was quaint, and the room clean and comfortable. A clean room is always a plus for me. Although the rooms may need an update soon, nevertheless everything appeared to be well maintained. I would definitely stay here again😁 Additionally the hotel is in a great location, right near the blue line train which can take you directly to and from the Chicago O'hare international airport. It's pretty convenient and I hope you enjoy your stay here! Enjoy!!!
0.73km from Rivers To GoThis was our first stay at this hotel, good location in the Loop by the Chicago Theater and State Street shopping. The staff is extremely polite, friendly, and helpful. Valet greeted us upon arrival and had our car all set to go with our bags in it when we checked out. The elevators are a little slow and you need your key to get access to your floor. It's great for safety but difficult if you're using a digital key on your phone! I was disappointed in our room because it had a really strong musty smell combined with a soap smell. I tried turning on the fan along with spraying some perfume but it didn't really help. I was also expecting the same style of comforter that they have at other Hampton Inns which are super comfy and fluffy, but these were flat along with the pillows. It's a nice size room and the bathroom was big. The shower curtain needs to be cleaned or swapped out because it also smelled badly. I also had issues with the internet connection going in/out on my phone. We enjoyed the breakfast, they actually had fruit smoothies! The oatmeal is always a good choice and they had different flavored hot teas which was a bonus!
Hotels Near Rivers To Go In Chicago Review
There is a very popular restaurant for breakfast on the first floor of the hotel. The taste is good. You can watch the night view of Chicago on the top floor and take photos. It feels good to stay. I have stayed twice and walked to the surrounding attractions. Trump Hotel across the river
Let me start by saying that I was so looking forward to our stay at the Swissotel Chicago - for a very special occasion. And it was off to a great start when the bell man greeted us and escorted us to the front desk. But that was the end of our pleasant experience with Swissotel, even though I had called in advance to let them know this was a special occasion. We were greeted at the front desk by a cold and unwelcoming individual named Nicole Thompson. She was horribly rude and unfriendly. When I inquired about the bill because I was surprised it was more than anticipated from my online reservation, she seemed bothered with my questions and made me feel like I was being problematic, instead of just trying to get clarification. We left the front desk feeling very unwelcome and it left a bad taste in our mouths, but I wasn't going to let it damper the day and instead, looked forward to our pre-booked city view room... instead, Ms. Thompson put us in a room on the 4th floor directly in front of the elevator, which is neither a river view or a city view, but a concrete view of a roof of a building next door - and in the distance, a little sliver of the lake. Even thinking about it now upsets me so much. So we were left with a room without a city view, paying more than I expected, and didn't get the $10 per day credit for not using housekeeping service. I am so disappointed with my stay at the Swissotel and will never recommend it to anyone.
Stayed here for three nights with my son while he looked at colleges. The location is great - right next to a CTA stop, so even on a freezing night in January, it was easy to get places. The neighborhood has lots of affordable places to eat and shop. It is a residential neighborhood as opposed to a touristy one. Our room faced a brick wall, but that meant no street noise. I liked that the room was a real suite with a door between the bedroom and living room. Too often places say they are a "suite," but it really just means there is a couch. I could get up earlier than my son and not bother him. And I love any hotel that provides robes. So great to have one to wear after taking a shower! The breakfast is basic - just coffee, juice, boxed cereal, toast - but enough to keep you going while you wait for your teen son to wake up (are you sensing a theme here?) Lots of places within a block or two to get a heartier breakfast, though. There are few amenities here. No business center, no place to use a computer or printer, no exercise room, no restaurant. But it is a very good basic hotel. Because the rooms are suites, there seemed to be a lot of rooms with a lot of people in them. When we arrived, there were several rooms on our hallway with their doors open and people running between them drinking wine and yelling to each other. I think the front desk said it was a bridal party. On the next two nights, there was a huge group of people in the lobby playing games and drinking beer. There is no way anyone else could have just hung out in the lobby. The staff did an excellent job at getting people to keep the sound down and get out of other guests' way, but still, a lot of big groups, so maybe not the best hotel if you want a sedate atmosphere. I imagine it is a lot quieter if you stay mid-week. I was supposed to stay at this hotel again in March, but had to cancel at the last minute because my event was cancelled the night before due to the growing threat of the COVID-19 pandemic. Although I had passed the cancellation deadline, the staff happily gave me a refund. As soon as this lockdown ends, I hope to get to Chicago and stay in this hotel again!
If you are staying to visit someone in Rush hospital, this is the place to stay. There is a parking garage 50 feet from the hotel with overnight rates cheaper than the hospital hourly rates. I walked two blocks to the hospital through a good neighborhood with no issues. They also had a shuttle if the walk is too much or weather doesn't permit.
I recently visited The Blackstone for my second stay. Since I was alone this time, it allowed me the chance to focus on the quality of my stay in itself. During such a strange time as the COVID-19 pandemic in the US, and searching for a new home in the Chicago area, comfort and solace is hard won. I was able to have it, in part, because of the beauty of the hotel as my lodging. The rooms at the Blackstone are comfortable and even luxurious. If you can, try to stay in one of the rooms that allows a view of the Lake. The sunrise from the hotel is magical and truly relaxing. The amenities of the hotel are also fabulous. Restaurants, shops, Navy Pier, museums, Grant Park, Millennium Park, and other activities are all comfortably walkable from here. The Blackstone is artsy and gorgeously whispers its significant Chicago history to its guests. The staff in the hotel are its best secret, though. At each service point, the Blackstone staff was professional, helpful, friendly...even to the point of conversation about the local scene. In particular, I would like to thank Lilly for her help on the day I checked in, times I came to the desk for snacks and information, and even on the day I checked out. Her work is an asset to the hotel and its brand. Thank you for a great stay!
The hotel was good and had everything we needed for our stay. The location was great and ideal for exploring the city. John in particular on the front desk was really helpful and friendly throughout our stay. My only real criticism was that the hotel has a long was to go in terms of sustainability. In our rooms the coffee cups were disposable and even at breakfast the plates, cups and cutlery were all disposable. This is really unnecessary. It would be absolutely be possible to make these all things that can be washed and reused. In addition we were told that if we were happy to reuse our towels we just had to hang them up. Despite doing this, they were replaced every day, We would have been happy to use the towels to be more enviornmentally friendly but weren't given the option.
