I have visited Calpe many times for the day but only ventured to the beach and the new town. Decided to book this hotel and stay overnight to visit the old town. Do not be put off at the title of Hostel as this is more a boutique Hotel. I was amazed when showed to my room for the price. Had a balcony with small table and chairs , ok there was no view but I was not there to sit all day on the balcony. The room and the bathroom also the communal rooms. The old town with its history and restaurants are right on your doorstep . Down the hill around ten fifteen min walk is the beach and the main prom . Supermarkets on the way down . limited continental breakfast is 11 euro extra per person , maybe cheaper to go to one of the local cafes ? I will definately be returning .

We stayed in gran solymar during very unusual circumstances - COVID 19 obviously. Haven’t stayed there before but know the area well. Hotel is beautiful, clean and a lovely vibe. Got a room with a sea view - views spectacular out over the rock. Room is great, lovely black out blinds, massive and super comfy bed, water replaced every day and a nice touch with a free bottle of cava on arrival. Other amenities also excellent - breakfast is lovely with lots on offer and swimming pool area is in keeping with the style and general atmosphere of the hotel. New pool towels every day and umbrellas (and I think seats) to go down to the beach. Downsides of the hotel are not many - they have to manage in what is a strange time - you have to book slots at breakfast time so they can control the crowds (these can be changed on a daily basis) you also are only allowed certain time slots at the pool and as the hotel became busier the slots became shorter. This is to allow for everyone to experience the pool. You can easily head down to the beach but just something to be aware of. The main thing I was surprised by was some of the friendliness of the staff - both at breakfast and at reception. Small things like at reception whilst standing queuing (and visible) on a couple of occasions the receptionists decided to answer the phone first even though we had been standing waiting. Then to asking for coffee at breakfast and never appearing. All I can say is you did notice the friendly and pleased to see you staff as the majority came across as not bothered. Overall a great hotel, beautiful setting and managing itself well in what must be a tough time - might just want to work on some of the customer interaction.

We’ve just stayed here for 3nights which included the busy Spanish bank holiday weekend. The hotel is clean, well appointed and a refreshing change from a hotel chain. We booked the spa bath room and were allocated room 213 which had great views over the port and was spacious for the two of us including sun beds on the balcony. Our only slight disappointment with the room, is on the hotels website which we booked direct with, it advertised the room to have a coffee machine.... it did, but you had to buy the coffee pods from reception. This is the 1st hotel I’ve ever stayed in where they provide a coffee maker but not the coffee for it which we found very strange! Everything else about staying here was straight forward with parking outside in the port not being a problem to bars and restaurants right on the doorstep. We only booked ‘room only’ as found so many great restaurants in the area, however looking at the breakfast the hotel offers, it looked great! We also tried a local Indian restaurant just up the road ‘Bombay Grill’ which was fantastic, so good we went twice! Would certainly recommend staying here, we will be back 😎🇪🇸

We are currently staying at this fabulous hotel, I must say after viewing the resort on YouTube I wasn’t looking forward to my holiday, as we were meant to be going to Turkey, however the unfortunate goings on with Thomas Cook put an abrupt stop to that. This holiday was a very last minute booking after spending hours trawling for something to replace the holiday we lost. Before leaving we obviously did the usual you tube views and thought oh no what are we going to do? It looked so quiet we thought we might be bored. On arriving we were pleased that it’s actually warmer here than it would have been in Turkey! The hotel itself hosts massive apartments with large bedrooms, a very big bathroom and kitchen diner, the rooms are spotless and cleaned every day. Fresh towels as and when you want them. The majority of guests are Spanish, so there is no mad rush for the sun beds, the pool is small but perfectly adequate, there are more than enough loungers. We are here on all inclusive and the food really is very good, so much so I’ve started skipping lunch through fear of gaining too much weight! The staff at the hotel cannot do enough for you, there is an entertainment team who are great! A fabulous hotel in a quiet resort, perfect for relaxing and recharging your batteries! A massive plus is the hotel will not tolerate rowdy and unruly behaviour, so no hen and stag parties! The salt lakes at the rear of the hotel is full of flamingos, what an amazing sight to wake up to!

Receptionist are beyond helpfull, something wrong with my booking but for one hour they did everything to help me out. Rooms are spacious, clean and have balconys. Locker in room didn't work, in 15 minutes they repaired it. The rooftop bar has amazing sunset vieuws, and during the day its fun to see all the people in the sea from this hight. Its in the middle of the center but the beach is just down the stairs, so are all aminities, in reach off 1 minute walk. Will return!

We stayed here over Valentine's weekend, as bed and breakfast. The hotel is located in a nice area, in easy reach of both beaches and supermarkets etc. The staff are friendly and always said hello and were there to answer questions when needed. The rooms are a good size and included two single beds pushed together to make a large double, a desk, TV, wardrobe and bathroom. They were very clean and nicely decorated. Our room had a really big balcony overlooking the pool with two sunloungers and a small table and chairs. I think it is the biggest balcony I have had in a hotel. The only downside in my opinion was the bed, the pillows were a bit hard for me, although obviously some people would like that. We had breakfast, which was nice, but there wasn't much choice and I think if you go at busy times there wouldn't be much left. For example, one day there was only one box of cereal left (the small individual boxes) and when we left one morning there was only one yoghurt left. They do replenish the items but this seemed slow so you could be disappointed. The breakfast consisted of a small choice of pastries, small choice of cereal, ham, cheese, some fruit and choice of yoghurt. You could have eggs but they were made to order. Overall, we had a great weekend, the spa was nice and the session was private so that was great. We would definitely return here. The price was good for the standard of the hotel.

There are better hotels in Calpe, but for the price we paid and the fact it's only 3 stars, we expected. I think the other people leaving the reviews are being too harsh. We had a really nice time and would definitely come back. I want to say that the two bar staff (Jordan and Tomasz) made our time so much better. They were both the best people and we will miss them. Miriam and the other entertainer were both amazing and funny (I didn't catch the mans name but hes the one that rides round on the scooter) Cleaner came round every day, I cannot fault the service. The food was OK, it wasn't my favourite part of the holiday, but it wasn't bad. All the pools were really nice and clean. We didn't use the spa but we heard good things. The drinks were really nice as well, and unlimited between 10.30am and 00.00am. Thank you Jordan & Tomasz, mi amigo.
