Recently stayed at this Hampton Inn while I was working a long stretch overnight at the local hospital. The manager was awesome working with me with my morning check-in. When I arrived after work, they provided me with what I thought was the quietest room in the hotel as it was busy. I slept awesome all day, heard nothing from the cleaning staff or outside my room. It was very clean and comfortable with a fridge and a microwave in room. The bathroom again, super clean and newly renovated, it was so nice! I used the gym a couple days of my stay as well and it was awesome as far as hotel gyms. Several cardio machines, dumbbells and a cable machine and again. Clean as a whistle! This hotel is near the city but just far enough to save a few bucks and not worry about paying for parking. I would highly recommend this facility not only for its exceptional accommodations but also for its friendly staff!

Let's start off on a positive note. Breakfast was buffet style, and pretty darn good. This is probably the closest Hotel to the port. The close proximity is what made us try this out. Unfortunately, everything else is not very positive. We had a ship check in time of 12:30. Upon check in at the hotel, we asked about shuttle sign ups. We were told that the shuttles run between 12-2, and was first come, first served. Well, before 9am, and we were down for breakfast, I noticed there were already folks waiting for the shuttle. We waited until 11, and went down to the lobby to wait. The next hour went by pretty quick, as everyone was talking cruising. A little after 12, a table with a shuttle worker appeared out of nowhere. That table was bumrushed by not the folks that had been sitting there for hours, but, people that came from I'm not sure where. Long story short, the folks waiting the longest were now last on the list. There were between 80-90 folks waiting to go, and shuttle/van space for 15-20. At about 1:30, I decided to order an Uber. I was tired of playing this, too many people , to few transportation. The wife had told the shuttle monitor that we ordered an Uber. He insisted that we cancel the Uber because we were next in line. We shouldn't have been next, but we were. Cost me $5 to cancel the Uber. Made it to Port by 1:45, was on ship by 2. Certainly not the 12:30 check-in we were hoping for. Now upon return, we had quite the opposite problem. We had checked luggage to retrieve. By no means early off the ship. KD Elite had a couple smaller vans, but , directed us to the waiting 40 passenger bus. I knew this was not going to end well when we were the first people on the bus. The driver assured us, we would leave soon. We'll, of course an hour later we pulled out. What a horrible ship and shuttle experience. I blame the hotel for this fiasco. They sold the service and it didn't go well. This was for the cruise on the Legend beginning 4/24. Also, when you arrive the Saturday before the cruise, be aware they have a comedy club in the hotel. A very popular Comedy Club. Parking was horrible. Not many handicapped spots. We had to park as far from front door as you could get. I was half tempted to call them and ask for a shuttle ride to the door. After some research, this was a good option. After experiencing this first hand, never again. We have stayed at several hotels around Baltimore, with shuttles of some sort to the port. In all other cases, they had sign-ups when you checked in. Do yourself a favor, stay clear of this free for all madness.

I am so on the fence about writing this review but after talking to a number of people we saw on a daily basis at the hotel, I am going to outline the great and not so great experiences at this hotel. First like many people told us, if you are here, then you are most likely being treated or have someone who is being treated at Hopkins. This is the only hotel near Hopkins. That was our case. First the front desk is fabulous with expediting the check in process and their check out time is 12 if you are picking up someone being discharged from the hospital. Wonderful and the young lady told us, if you need a few extra minutes no problem. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. We were on the 6th floor and not much noise. The valet service was amazing on both days we stayed, had the car in 5 minutes or less. We had one gentleman who grabbed a cell phone that was laying on the seat and said you need this…Yes!!! Lamont was fabulous in the breakfast bar. He made us feel like at home, clearing dishes, asking if we needed a bag to go, and truly asking how us how we are and being a bright spot in our day. Just a fantastic person with amazing customer service skills. Where the hotel fell short was being able to eat at the restaurant. We were told by one of the checkered shirt ladies around 5 o’clock to head up to P floor for the hotel happy hour, when get there we are told it is $10 charge, no we are good, can we just get dinner? Mind you this is a Friday night and the lady tells us the restaurant is closed for a private event but we can eat at the bar in the lobby. So we go down to the lobby bar to eat and food was just so so and it took over 2 hours to get our meal. There was at least 6 other people I recognized as guests that were waiting for food. After a 12 hour day at the hospital, you just want to eat and go to bed. There was quite a bit of foot traffic in the lobby for the event and they seemed to get their meals before we did. Not sure what is going on but the restaurant was clearly overwhelmed and it showed in the meal. The signature burger was missing half the stuff, fries cold, no flatbread, or Brussel sprouts either. If we could have got a good meal, the rating would have been better. Weird vibe and crowd during the night, take your chances but be aware of those around you.

This is the worst Hotel I have ever stayed in, period. The whole hotel smelled of skunk and marihuana. The Ice machine room smelled of urine as if it was used very often. The front desk attendants were watching television in the breakfast area instead of monitoring who was coming into the hotel. There was a man who appeared to be homeless walking through the hotel lobby, then up the elevators and back down to the lobby. He wore the same clothes on Friday night and Saturday morning. The morning attendant on 2/19 was sleeping in the office. I had to bang on the office door several times to wake him up. When I asked for more towels I was given pool towels which were small and worn out. When I asked for more pillows I was told they only had one left but the hotel wasn't sold out. There was mold on the ceiling in hallway, our room, the bathroom. The toilet kept getting stuffed up, we were afraid it would over flow every time. When I mentioned it to the front desk clerk he said OK, didn't even fain an interest in fixing the problem. I want my money refunded immediately. We felt unsafe, we were in deplorable conditions that smelled horrible. The entire hotel, I mean entire hotel needs a tear down and rebuild it is that bad. The beds were like twin beds not fit for two adults to sleep in.

The building of this hotel has a history of 120 years. The location is on the edge of the inner harbor. The pier is just outside the window. The surrounding area is safe. You can walk around the window and watch the sunrise. The breakfast is great! Welcome to Kunshi, courteous and attentive, it is a very rare experience!

AMAZING atmosphere when I first walked in. Our waiter Rafael was very friendly and accommodating-cracking jokes and making us feel welcomed. We both ordered the 8oz steak, paired with a side of asparagus and mashed potatoes. The cocktails we ordered tasted of great quality and freshness. I had probably one of the best filets I’ve ever had! The mashed potatoes were puréed to perfection and the asparagus was seasoned perfectly. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate gelato and panna cotta. The gelato was delicious and the panna cotta was very flavorful and creamy. Overall great experience and will definitely be returning.
