Hotels Near Roses In Charlotte
1.49km from RosesI currently had to stay at this hotel for almost a month. The staff was warm and welcoming. The price was reasonable. The housekeepers stopped by my room everyday to ask if I needed anything. The location was great for my commute too. I would stay at this hotel again.
2.6km from RosesWe visited this hotel because our flight was cancelled.we needed just a couple of hours to rest before our flight the next day. Once we arrived at the hotel it was really secluded and dangerous looking like something out of a horror movie. It was so obvious there were drug transactions and prostitutes in the parking lot. The hotel had gates all around it and all t windows hard bars on them like a prison. I went to see if any rooms were available and had my wife sit in the car. Less than 5 minutes later after being in the front desk with Plastic wall my wife came inside and was very scared and shaking. She said that another so-called tenant was knocking on the car window and asked her how much for the hour. We were stranded and waited in the lobby. After about 10 calls to the hotel they finally answered the phone and told us he was the owner and he would be right there. We waited and in tHe meantime there were 2 females barely dressed and an older man. When the owner of middle eaters decent was ready to Check us in. He told us he would be right back. We saw one female going into a room with owner. We waited and waited. We asked her friend what happened and they old me he was helping her move things into the room and he would not be more than 20 minutes. The first name began with a “b” and last name was patel. The lady told us here they are regulars here and the owner always helped them move in. Bizzare!!!! We understood what wAs going on. When the owner did try to check us in he was definitely under the influence of on drugs we wasn’t even coherent. When I asked he said yeah there are a lot of females and drugs but as long as they don’t. Other anyone he was ok. See that he would always give the girls a huge discount. There is no “bbb” awards as stated. No breakfast, no coffee and the lobby closes at 10pm that evening because the owner has a couple of dates.the room stunk of cigarettes even though it was to be no smithing. The bathroom door was kicked no amenities just a bar of soap. There were cockroaches when we turned on the lights in the bathroom. The owner it’s not a big deal that he lives on the property. The drug dealers and prostitutes would be seen conducting business all evening and morning long. We called the police because someone smashed in our car window. 15 to 20 minutes later the police showed up wrote the report and Informed us to leave and the owner did not care as long as they paid or if he got to enjoy services rendered. For sure the tall middle eastern owner walked around he was hugging and kissing girls that were barely 13 or 14 years old. The WORST hotel EVER how could a grown man allow all these illegals thing to happen at his business. The next day we had people 2 hours use our credit card. The owner was the only person that had access. When we did tell him the next morning he was in pajamas he cursed at my wife. Owner has serious anger issues and. I filter on his mouth when speaking to my wife. My “B” Patel is t

2.71km from RosesI chose to stay here because I was on a budget and it was close to both the airport and the friends I was visiting. I wish I'd read the reviews before I booked as it was terrible. The first room I was allocated smelled stale and was filthy. The second room was even filthier although it smelled slightly better. The third room was also dirty but cleaner than the first two and the smell was tolerable. I still sat on the bed and cried though as it was really horrible. Old, outdated bed coverings with cigarette burns, huge draft coming under the door (which faces outside), noisy aircon, door chain hanging off, bathroom door didn't close, shower rail bent from someone clearly falling and so shower curtain didn't cover the width of bath, shower was temperamental either freezing cold or burning hot with tepid in between. Asked for an extra towel but told couldn't have one unless we handed one back first! Had to buy slippers when I noticed the floor had not been mopped in what must have been at least a year as socks were black after just 20 minutes in the room. Housekeeping did zero cleaning, just towel and bed change and empty bins, shower, bathroom and floors not cleaned at all. On arrival we had to use the night window which was in a tiny room with a couple of barely stocked vending machines and the temperature must've been at least 100°,it was unbearable. Shuttle bus driver didn't talk to us at all nor help with luggage despite my partner and I having disabilities. It wasn't a language issue, we heard her talk to hotel staff, she was just really rude. I would not recommend my worst enemy stay in this hotel, avoid at all costs!
2.75km from RosesThe hotel facilities are outdated, it feels like it has been renovated many times, and it has a faint taste, not very recommended. Truck drivers live a lot, and stay overnight without being disturbed. After all, it’s cheap
2.78km from RosesThe room smells like a hotel with old carpet, they DONT have furniture in the room which is good cause I’m pretty sure it would be destroyed. Or some kind of staining on it. It really no frills, the only thing that bothers me is that they don’t charge towels or sheets daily. If you just need something last minute that won’t all the way creep you out then try this

There is a 150.00 USD cleaning fee for smoking in a room.Pet accommodations: 30.00 USD per stay. Pet limit: 40 pounds; maximum 2 petper room. A valid credit card must be presented upon check-in.
2.9km from RosesI selected this hotel for two reasons; near the airport and free breakfast. Dissappointed in the breakfast, I made my own hot waffle from the readymade mixture no problem, no hot eggs, grits, sausage, etc. Everything else was basically continental, instant grits and oatmeal, fruit, pastries, coffee etc. Didn’t see it coming not the way it read under amenities. Two boiled eggs package in the little counter top mini refrigerator. Friendly desk staff the evening I arrived and the next morning when I checked out. I didn’t see the policy about service animals allowed, no problem segregated from the regular rooms, the problem I saw was that people who did have dogs, I thought they were supposed to wear a sign that say service animal? I didn’t see that, the property does have a pet waste station to take a plastic bag and pickup the dog poop. I didn’t see that happening. For the one night that I did stay my room was ok. I had breakfast at the waffle house across the street.

Hotels Near Roses In Charlotte Review
Home2Suites Charlotte Uptown Gorgeous space. Just be prepared for the unusual and possibly confusing way of getting to lobby. Turning into Stonewall st, be prepared to turn left into the Novel apartment complex car park. Pick up a ticket to 3rd and 4th floor for hotel carpark. Then take the elevator to first floor, exit the car park, walk to the not-Stonewall St entrance (the Stonewall side only works if u have a keycard). Press the speaker button to get access into building. Take the elevator to 2nd floor and ur at the lobby. Or you can just immediately drive behind the hotel, get out and enter as explained above , check in, then go park your car. Access card needed for elevators to your floor. Safety and security is appreciated. The front desk people are SUPER friendly and helpful. The lobby is well appointed. The exercise room and laundry room are on same floor. The room is tasteful. Ample work stations, separate living area from the beds by ceiling to flow curtain. Couch offers another sleeping option of pull out bed. Bedding for that couch is stored in cupboard below tv. The closet space is on the smaller side. The kitchenette has a microwave, average sized refrigerator, dishwasher, kitchen utensils etc. Hot stove can be provided upon request. LOVE the huge window that offers natural light but lighting room is plenty. Whole Foods just a block away and many restaurants along both sides of Tryon Street (business district and a host of banks), west of the hotel.
I just got married this Canopy... in 2020. In the middle of a global pandemic. I cannot say enough amazing things about this place and I will try to keep it short but here it goes. 1. Staff. NORA HOLLAND ASHLEY SCHNEIDER. Y’all are amazing, you worked with me through probably some of the most frustrating back and forth of your wedding event lives and i am so thankful for you both. Nori, YOURE also amazing, always made me feel so special. Having this group be a part of my wedding night and treating every single guest like ROYALTY was amazing. My expectations were exceeded tremendously. Nora even helped me with things like getting additional vendors that I needed. Can’t say enough great things about her. 2. FOOD. Food at the wedding was amazing and I made Nora and her head chef pick the entire menu because I was clueless and everyone raved about the food!! The restaurant Fin & Fettle also has amazing food and cocktails AND the breakfast options Canopy offers is fabulous. Biscuits and gravy YES PLEASE. 4. Atmosphere. This place has the coolest vibe. It is modern but also cozy and has SUCH A COOL PATIO. It was so fun to get married here and everyone talked about how awesome the space was. Thank you Canopy for the most special night of my life. We will be coming back as regulars... and any engaged couples do not sleep on this place to get married. It’s amazing and the staff is just WOW 🤩
I stay at the Hyatt place multiple times a month. I will honestly say that they don’t have the best interest of their customers. When I stayed last night my significant other physically assaulted me! I called 911 and locked myself in the hotel room to ensure I remained safe. The manager on duty saw my visiable bruises, bleeding under my eye, and heard the video of him physically assaulting me while I was on the phone with 911. I expressed to the manager that I felt safe In the room with the door locked so he couldn’t get to me while I waited on the police. The manager then said that I would have to LEAVE the room because it was in his name! Again, the video of him assaulting me has his face in it... but they WERE NOT CONCERNED ABOUT THR VICTIM OF A DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SITUATION! I Have NEVER been in a situation like this before and I honestly feared for my life! I explained this to the Manager on duty and the security guard, and NEITHER ONE OF THEM WOULD HEAR MY CRY FOR HELP!!!!! Instead they MADE ME LEAVE THE ROOM! I was then told to go downstairs, neither of them were beside me to ensure that my safety was a concern! INSTEAD THEY LEFT ME ALONE AND ALLOWED HIM TO COME DOWNSTAIRS AND TAUNT ME, YELL AT ME AND THEY DID NOTHING!!! I believe this is a very alarming situation where management should have PROPER TRAINING in regards to situations like this. I didn’t feel safe, nor protected and the manager and the security guard both made me feel like I wasn’t a victim..: nor were they concerned about my well being! I was absolutely shocked and broken hearted at the LACK of support and safety provided by the Hyatt Place! I called customer service and again was made to feel like I was the problem. They were only concerned about if I had made a police report. Yes, I filed a report.... that isn’t the issue at hang. The issue at hand is the Hyatt Place doesn’t take domestic violence seriously, they do not protect the victim whom is their paying customer and they allow the abuser to come back into close quarters with the victim! My bruises were evident, the blood on my face was very clear and I was left with other NO protection or help! It’s very sad and I will never stay at the Hyatt or hotels affiliated with the Hyatt again!
For a hotel to be so expensive, I’m surprised at such a stay. I don’t understand all the 5* reviews. The short pro list: - Nice location walking distance to food and entertainment - Beautifully decorated rooms and comfy bed - Large tub (if you request a room with a tub) - Helpful front desk staff The cons? Hmph. - Let’s start with how we accidentally left our baby’s super soft blanket in the room at checkout and I called right back to claim it but surprise surprise, “no one could locate it”. And it took days of repeated phone calls to even reach someone who could even tell me that. Merry Christmas to some employee’s baby I guess. - Breakfast was oatmeal packets and frozen wraps and sandwiches heated in the microwave. They had the nerve to charge $7 for a spinach wrap that was 3.5” long and previously frozen. And $4 for a Quaker microwaveable grits bowl. Nothing was made fresh except the smoothies which were more like juice. There’s no kitchen or restaurant in-house apparently. Order breakfast out. Thankfully, the manager (I think his name was Austin) comped our breakfast due to another mixup. I would been furious paying for that. - The elevator is the slowest elevator in existence. I could build an elevator from scratch before theirs completed its laborious one floor journey. But because we had a baby stroller, we had to use it. They have a sign in the elevator saying it moves slowly because it’s vintage. No. - The valet is almost $40 but slow. There was no valet guy on one morning of our stay and we were told to get our own car but by the time we got downstairs, he had shown up. We had to wait behind 3 or 4 other parties though to receive our car. It took about half an hour. - None of the rooms have windows to the outside. Well, I suppose the few that line the noisy street do but almost all of the hotel is located within a larger building so the only views are to a lobby/atrium below. I would not stay at this hotel again. Maybe I could overlook one or two of these issues but not all together. And definitely not the mysterious disappearance of our baby’s blanket.
I have stayed at this hotel for a long time. The manager Janet, George, and Evelyn have great customer service. The hotel is clean and the rest of the staff is very friendly.I I would have definitely recommended this hotel to my company and other. I loved staying here. Unfortunately, I had a terrifying experience with their new attendant, Precious. I made several complaints to her about a guest who had bought thirty plus people to occupy the pool area.None of these people had mask on. On my third request she went out and told people that they had to leave because I made a complaint. Since she had a already revealed my identity I told them Yes I made the complaint because we cannot have covid parties. I left. When I came back, Precious told me they were leaving so I went outside got a table by myself away from the pool area to smoke and i called my sister on the phone. While I was on the phone the pool party started calling me whore and saying I was going to get my ass beat. Later they started chanting you another Karen. Because I would not respond to them they charged my table and say ok we will seat with you. They got in my face.I was scared because I had taken off my mask and five or six people were in my face. I ran inside and ask the attendant, Precious to call the police. She refused even though one of the pool party people had followed me inside and was yelling in my face.I called the police. The police came and the attendant lied and said I was the aggressor and everyone had on a mask. She told the police they could stay. For the rest of the night the party guest harrased me. I had to go live on facebook so they would not hurt me while I smoked my cigarette. They called me "ugly" they yelled out my age and how long I stayed at the hotel. They called me "motherf##!!$ why you scared of covid when you dying of cancer". One of the men kept coming over to fence and yelling at me.All this was live of facebook. I later learned the attendant, Precious had given the pool party my information. The next day I walked down the hall and guest rm 102 yelled "here she goes, patrolling the hallway"....they were part of yesterday's pool party group. When I got near the coffee area one person yelled "her comes the heifer" another yelled "what you looking at" a different part of the same group. So I took the stairs to avoid them only to run in to more of their group where one person yelled I feel like I am being stalked". So its been a hard two days. I had to leave work early because I couldn't stop crying. I am thankful that George offered me another room for my safety. This was a very scary experience
I picked this hotel using my Wyndham points and was not able to see any previous ratings. I feel like we really lucked out with this one! Not only was it the cleanest and nicest hotel we have ever stayed at using Wyndham points, but the location was great too. We enjoyed watching the airplanes flying over, and it was very easy to get back on the highway in the morning. The breakfast was very nice too!
Was traveling to Charlotte for a Saturday afternoon and night of leisure. This hotel was in a perfect location with access to plenty of bars/restaurants in Uptown. Being an IHG member I was upgraded to a suite which was very nice! Spent time at the rooftop pool which was very relaxing to sunbath and cool off. The pool is 3.5 ft all the way around. The hotel staff was amazing with COVID precautions and customer service. I ordered room service for breakfast on Sunday morning and the food was great. I had an omlette with potatoes and toast while the misses had waffles. I would highly recommend this hotel!
This is one of a very few of the ESA properties that have not been renovated and is showing its age. I was a little leery when a panhandler approached me in the parking lot. I checked in anyway, and a very polite staff member ( BJ ) checked me in. It is a 3-story hotel with no elevator. I lugged my baggage up the stairs entered the room to find it unmade. Luggage back down the stairs. BJ apologizes assigns new room on third floor ... back up the stairs with luggage (sigh). You guessed it ... this 2nd room was ALSO unmade. back up the stairs with luggage (sigh), traveling for business and have service equipment with me ... this is not fun... BJ assigns 3rd room, also on third floor... back up the stairs ... ok ... at least this room has been properly cleaned, but not a good start. The rest of my stay was uneventful except for one of the maids cleaning rooms on the night shift playing incredibly loud music. Wifi was very slow, a paid upgrade option was offered, but I did not try it.
Top of the line. Quality service Quality people overall amazing stay will be back soon. Nothing i can say bad about my stay except it ended to soon. I'd recommend for whatever reasons. Family fun, Romantic get away, Business, or Personal comfort and relaxation.
In TripAdvisor, Three stars is Average, Four stars is Very Good. This hotel is between these. It is Good. Of course, if price was not a factor, then this place might be just two stars but any rating I do is related to price, and I think you get really good value for money here. If you want a really modern hotel with all the mod cons, then stay in an Uptown hotel and pay three times as much. The quality of a hotel like that will be much higher, but so will the price. So this place is very dated. All the furniture, curtains, carpets etc are quite old but to repeat, that is reflected in the price. The owner claims he is running the hotel on environmental principles so by not renovating he is not adding to landfill and using up new resources. That's an interesting business model which I actually feel comfortable about, but lots of other people would not. For instance, while I was happy to stay here for a few days, I would not bring my partner here. She (like most women?) want to feel pampered in a hotel. I just want somewhere safe, basic and comfortable. And it does have some things more expensive hotels do not have, such as a fridge and microwave. Expensive hotels seem to presume that guests will have all their meals in the equally expensive restaurant downstairs. Do you want to do that? So it's horses for courses. If you are happy with an older style, no-frills place, this hotel will be fine. If you want more luxury, then go elsewhere and pay for it. It's that simple.
really enjoyed the view of the city!
This Hampton Inn is close to the university as well as some industrial parks. It was super easy to get to from the airport. As expected, the hotel was very clean and well maintained. The customer service is excellent! Everyone is very friendly, smiley and says hello. The breakfast was very well stocked and the food was hot. I will definitely stay here again if I'm in the area.
We stayed here Jan 29, 2020 to Feb 02, 2020. First of all DONT BELIEVE THE PICS!!!! Next when you drive up the first thing you see is Shopping Plaza with small restaurants and 2 gentlemen clubs. The hotel is attached by 2 other hotels. Its clean on the inside and the room is a nice size EXCEPT the bathroom. You walk into the bathroom and the toilet greets you first at the door. The bed was uncomfortable and the bedding was ripped, the curtains wouldn't properly close and the ac froze up this happened on the last night. ANDDDD the internet is turtle slow!!! I couldn't do a lot of my school work because of this!!! It just sucks!!! Also, DON'T EAT AT THE RESTAURANT!!!!!!! you would think that by it being a airport hotel that it would be BETTER!!!! Wrong!!! Majorly disappointed!!! I ordered a sirloin steak med rare that comes with mash potatoes and sauteed green beans. I received my plate and it was a BIG plate of instant mash potatoes and can green beans with what was suppose to be a sirloin steak. It looked like a strip of steak that had been left on the grill too long. It was dry and tough and cook way past med rare. For $19 i expected more than this! Needless to say I sent it back and didn't want anything from that place.!!! Other than it being quiet, clean and the staff being friendly is all i an say good about this place. When we go to Orlando we stay at the Ramada and it is MUCH BETTER!!! Will not be returning here!!! #YUCK
The hotel was clean, and any staff we dealt with were extremely friendly. However, the plumbing left much to be desired (the toilet kepts running on unless you jiggled the handle many times, or lifted the lid of the tank to set the flapper by hand, and the shower had little pressure: it looked as though it was adjustable, but I was unable to get the showerhead to change). As well, there are no curtains on the window, just sheers, and the light from the lamps outside kept the room bright. That, coupled with how noisy the fan was, meant I didn't get much sleep.
Bed comfy, Breakfast yummy
This Hampton Inn is clean and attractive. However, our stay there was marred by two issues that occurred in the middle of the night, so there was not much we could do about them. First, an enormously loud whining sound from the HVAC system started in the middle of the night. It appeared to be separate from the room's system, where the fan was running appropriately. We actually opened the door to the hall and could hear it outside the room, so I can only assume that this is a recurring problem that the hotel has not addressed. I doubt it was a one off for just us. The toilet in the bathroom would also loudly refill at random times during the night. All in all, it contributed to a night filled with lots of awake time. I recommend either DoubleTree Suites or The Renaissance, both close by, as positive alternatives in the same price range, over this particular Hampton Inn. On the bright side, the Hampton Inn does provide a "free" breakfast, which they did a good job with, considering the limitations of the pandemic. They also have "contactless check-in," which was very easy and convenient, where they send a digital to one's cell phone---a nice touch.
Stay Report - 9/16 - 9/17 Location: The hotel is located in the Arrowood part of Charlotte on Arrowood Road (obviously) at exit 3 on I-77 and just north of the southern part of the I-485 Loop. There are a number of other similar hotels in this neighborhood plus a bunch of chain restaurants but otherwise it's all office parks. It's safe and quiet and being just off I-77 makes it easy to get to downtown and the airport in 10-20 minutes depending on traffic. Hotel: The hotel is a very new high rise at 7 stories. It has a large parking lot, nice lobby (though the breakfast area is small), there's a pool which is currently closed, a business center just off the lobby and a small pantry which sells snacks and sundries. Thankfully I didn't run into any waits for the elevator. Check In: Handled very well by a friendly agent who also confirmed she'd given me a Diamond Suite Upgrade. These are increasingly rare and therefore always appreciated by me. Room: Really nice, one of the nicer Hampton rooms I've had in fact. Large kitchen area with table, big living room with couch and big TV plus a desk, separate bedroom with a large bed with outlets next to it and a huge bathroom with a whirlpool tub and separate standing shower. The room was just lovely. Breakfast: The lone blemish. It's strictly grab and go and they had one kind of coffee in the lobby and a bag with a granola bar, apple, bottle of water and a pastry. This was pretty lame. Overall a really nice option that I'll be sure to return to in Charlotte.
So I've stayed at this hotel twice now. It is definitely showing it's age but considering I've been able to snag a room at less than $70 a night it meets expectations. The rooms are small and the carpet, furniture, and even curtains are worn. The bathroom is tiny. However, it is clean, has a fridge and microwave, and the bed is comfortable with a lot of pillows. The breakfast....the best I've had at a budget hotel. Sausage gravy and biscuits, crispy potatoes, eggs, and bacon. You could also make waffles or cereal but who has the room? It is also right beside a Bojangles which I love! And Walmart is just a few mins up the road. So, to me, the positives outweigh the negative. If you aren't held up on having to have a new looking hotel and you don't mind some chipped furniture this is a good place to stay.
We had a nice stay at this hotel. The room was clean and spacious. There was a really nice shower appointed with Bliss products. The rooms seemed quite with the exception of the small refrigerator in the room...we eventually just unplugged it because it was rattling so much. had everything I needed. The gym was really good - they had a Peleton bicycle and all the gym necessities you could want. We didn't know there was a pool or we would have brought our swimsuits. It looked nice and was indoors. They real win is that they have a free shuttle that will take you within 2 miles, making it super convenient since this is sort of in an industrial park. The staff is very nice and welcoming. The hotel bar that is pretty nice. We grabbed a glass of wine after dinner one night and just relaxed in the lobby. Overall we would definitely stay again.
My company truck broke down in Charlotte & while my company did foot the bill, was having difficulty finding another truck for me in a timely manner. All the staff was extremely helpful & simpathetic to my dilema & went above and beyond their normal duties to make my stay as pleasent as posible. I would especially like to commend Ms. Alexander, Dir of Sales, for her kindness & care of this simple trucker who helped me find alternative travel back home to NYC and even helped me with my bags!! I have never experienced in ANY hotel, especially office staff, going out their way to help one of their guest. I highly recommend this hotel not only for the clean, comfortable rooms but also for the inviting staff eager to help their guest regardless of status!
This was a perfect place for us to stay 1 night with our 3 little pups. Hotel was clean, non smoking, and comfortable. The shower was very good also in the small bathroom. Only hic cup was a large dog with his low voice started barking at 4 am when his owner went out to car. Stopped when they came back to get dog. Guess one needs to expect that on occasion if you need a pet friendly hotel. Would definitely stay again. The front desk woman was super friendly & has a great easy laugh!
Again, I had hoped to have found a hotel chain that I could count on; nope. At check in, there was no luggage rack in the room, went to the front desk to ask for one and got an argument. “They’re not required, we don’t have any.” I asked where I should put my luggage.....also mentioned that all Fairfield Inns have them. After a hassle, I was provided one, none too clean but better than nothing. If there had been a place to put my bag other than on the bed, this wouldn’t have been an issue. While the room was clean and the bed comfortable, that’s about it. The wall A/C unit was dreadful, freezing when I checked in so I turned it up till bedtime. At bedtime, the temperature wouldn’t drop below 74....ugh...too hot! The bathroom was dreadful. Very small, wall hung sink that tipped so far forward that I couldn’t even put a toothbrush on the edge of it without it falling in the floor. No counter space at all, just the teeny tiny sink. The toilet also tipped forward so the seat and cover slammed down unless I held it up. The shower (a roll in type) leaked water all over the bathroom, it took the bath mat and two towels to mop it up. No Kleenex! The toiletries had been reused from the previous guest, a very nasty practice. As far as the grab and go breakfast goes, a granola bar and teeny tiny muffin just don’t make the cut. I had fresh fruit with me and found a breakfast spot a few exits up the interstate. I won’t return to this Fairfield Inn again, no better than a Motel 6 and a heck of a lot more expensive for certain!
Really nice experience, best people. Really nice beds, clean rooms, nice bathrooms, close to downtown and all breweries, very friendly staff and good continental breakfast, best bang for your money...
I really enjoyed my stay it was clean and the staff was very nice
We used the Hilton Garden Inn Charlotte Waverly to host our guests for our wedding this fall, and we couldn't be happier. The new construction building was beautiful from lobby to room, and the extra precautions and signage to help people navigate the pandemic was very helpful. Hand sanitizer was at the elevators on every floor. Linda was our go-to contact for the block of rooms we booked and she could not have been more helpful and pleasant to work with. She helped with guest gift bags and made the planning/payment processes easy. The only knock on the hotel was that it did not have any form of Honeymoon sweet, so our first night as a married couple was in a room with 2 queen beds overlooking the parking garage. Nothing worth deterring us from recommending this hotel for events, conferences, or families.
Amazing staff, clean, quiet
It is only a 10-minute drive from the international airport and there is a free airport shuttle minibus. Breakfast starts at 6.30, if you can't catch up, there are coffee, milk, oatmeal, hot water and so on.
We were genuinely looking forward to our stay at the Morehead Inn. First impressions did not disappoint. Public spaces on the first floor of the main building were spacious, nicely furnished and comfortable. Staff that greeted and checked us in were friendly, engaging and enthusiastic, guest parking was a bit tight but very adequate. Our room was on the second floor of the main building. Going up to our room we were impressed by the grand staircase, until we turned at the landing and were confronted by a steel and glass commercial door, totally out of place for its surroundings. Things went downhill from there. To be fair, they are renovating the rooms, however the upstairs lounge area looked like a used furniture store and the hallway to our room was dark and cramped. Our room, the "Cleveland," had fresh paint and carpet but the furniture was in terrible condition. The sofa and chair were filthy and badly worn. The bathroom was small but functional however the toilet didn't flush effectively. The weather was unusually warm for our stay. The air conditioning in our room was too cold for our comfort. We tried adjusting our thermostat but that had no effect. Photos of the inn feature a welcoming outdoor terrace, but they don't show that it faces a very busy, noisy street. Breakfast was as represented on the sign at the front desk when we checked in. The person in charge of the dining room could have done a better job of explaining where things were because they weren't obvious when we were seated, but overall the breakfast was fine. We have stayed in many B&B's and small inns and learned a long time ago that they all have their quirks and flaws so we were not expecting perfection, but we were frankly shocked by the chaotic conditions we encountered upstairs. It's great that management is investing in the property but It would have been appropriate for them to warn prospective guests of the conditions they would encounter and offer a discount on the affected rooms.
We stayed for three days in this hotel on a visit to our daughter in Charlotte, and we liked it a lot. The room was very large as we had the largest suite, and it had all that we needed for a very pleasant stay. I must say I am sure that during non-Covid times it would be even better, as I am sure they would have hot breakfast available, when we were there they had the barest cold breakfast. The one thing I think could be improved is that they have someone to help with the luggage for older people like us, they do not have anybody but the girl on the front desk. But otherwise, it is a very nice hotel for the area.
I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Ballantyne-Charlotte NC a week ago. The rooms very clean they staff was so professional. I stayed there for one week and before I left they knew me and my children by name, they always said hello when we would walk through the door and remembered the little things about my trip and always asked me how did things go today. The GM Chris Manor was totally outstanding he and the Assistant GM Ashley took the time to introduce themselves when we saw them and always wanted to know how to make our stay better. Each front desk person, Austin, Dior, Lakeisha, Kierra and Donna (we took the time to know their names because they took the time to know ours) was always friendly. This may seem normal but I travel a lot and I can personally say this is not normal. I will always, and I mean ALWAYS stay at the Holiday Inn Ballantyne -Charlotte NC when I visit. OUTSTANDING SERVICE!!!
