Recently the hotel management was change. It was no TV channel, no kids games set as per their website shown. We booked 5 bed rooms, it end up the room was with 2 level, level 1 is a small living room and level 2 is after climbing the narrow rock stairs with all the bed and the wash room locate. It was weird that the coffee making area is at the first level but the water basin to make the coffee is on the second floor, again the rock stair climbing make me tired. The breakfast..OMG, it was not in the previous review which was so delicious and so much selection. During the 2 days stayed, the so call”buffet breakfast” was only 2 main dish ( friend noodle + fried rice), 2 fried dishes ( fried sausage and fried chicken), 1 soup, 1 corn flake with milk, coffee and tea, orange soda that's all. The second day repeat the similar spread, not even single piece of bread and fruit that they were serving. The orange juice that they serve was actually the soda drink..OMG. Another weird thing is their 5 bed room's room come with 2 tiny toilet and 2 tiny bath room, anyway, we are okay for it but it might be bit small for those foreign tourist. There were the pro on this hotel, the hotel furniture, wall paint with Baba Nyonya style. It is clean and comfortable. The location is good whereby you can walk to nearby hawker center, cafe and restaurant. The road in front of hotel was so quite that you could safely park your car there. Overall, i like the hotel characteristic but not the facilities and service. It can be improve.

This week coincides with the 15th anniversary of Penang George City becoming a world cultural heritage, and there are many events in the old town. You can be lucky to stay in this super beautiful townhouse, which is the finishing touch of this journey. The building itself has a strong Nanyang nostalgia, and it is very convenient to travel, eat, drink and play. A place called New World was accidentally found nearby. It was where locals ate and there were many local food to choose from. This beautiful Nanyang island exudes a charming atmosphere. During the day, we wander around eating and drinking, and stormed the entire Georgetown to solve the nearby New World at night. Speaking of the cabin itself, I can see that the owner has spent a lot of thought to decorate. The kitchen utensils and toiletries are very exquisite. The small ornaments and snacks are very cute and intimate. Although in the old city, the accommodation is unexpectedly quiet and private. Good, the friends in the same industry are very recognized. I paid attention when I checked in, the room was very clean, which was also very reassuring 👍 Penang is really a good place to relax and decompress. Instead of rushing to check in during the holiday, it is better to find such a cabin and slow down your steps. The floating durian on the corner, the delicious shrimp noodles in the tea room, and even the light and shadow mottled streets, as well as the murals that can be seen everywhere. It all makes people feel like they have a dream.

I was looking for accommodation that is near to the Heritage area and found this hotel. The location is very good. You are almost at the central of many things. Going to Penang is about enjoying their food and within 500m you can get so many choices from local, fusion and international. You get everything for a home, fully equipped kitchen except for a diswasher. An induction hob and a microwave is provided complete with pot and pans. So if you wish to cook, just go to nearest market and buy the ingredients. There is a two door refrigerator and not the usual mini bar fridge. No need to go to laundry, they give a washing machine in the unit. Super convenient if you plan to stay longer. The unit is spacious for a family of four but there is only one room with queen bed. So the kids can sleep with extra mattress or at the couch. Wifi is present but not as fast but good enough for you to browse and read email. One issue that will be a challenge is parking space. The hotel is a converted shoplot next to a busy street, so the authority has removed the parking in order to widen the road. You can go and park by the road side at the smaller street. A bit problem during day time but not really an issue after 7pm. If you are not driving, then no issue at all. Overall, it is a good place and value for money.

I chose this hotel because they advertise to have a state of the art gym and it looked good in the photos. This is the only reason why I decided to pay premium rather than staying in a guest house. The first morning I went to use the gym and it was like a sauna, the ac was off, the windows could not be opened or closed properly and there was no remote control to switch the devices on. There was no water nor towels and no yoga mat either, only a cockroach at the entrance to greet you. I jumped to a chair and switched on the ac but the space is so big that it was impossible to cool down (specially with the windows not sealed). I asked reception to solve it so I could train the following morning and requested a yoga mat. They completely ignore it so I went to reception complaint again and once more, no one did anything about it. The last day I attempted to train and the ac didn’t even work, I notified reception and waited for an answer or someone to turned up but never happened, went again after 20min and they said there was a power cut, I asked to be notified once fixed, no one ever did... Upon check out I took out my frustration expecting an honest apology and maybe a gesture of good will but nothing again, they said I booked online and they could not give me anything, I called my online agent who got in touch with the hotel and again they refused to offer any compensation because they only care about profit as you can see by their ’environmental’ sign left in the bathroom (some of us and some business actually care about the environment) TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT AND DISGRACEFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE

Stayed here one night in family suites with 2 rooms with my 2 kids, the hotel is not far from Komtar penang. Parking is not an issue even for our MPV, their rotating car park with escalator can move the car into empty slot. Check-in is fast and we stayed at level 19th with nice city and some ocean view. Room is very big with a living room, master room with big washroom and changing cabinet, and another connecting room. Wifi is fast and there are 19 tv channels to choose from. Next morning we went for their gym at level 22, not very big but good enough with 5-6 workout machines. Breakfast is at level 21 buffet styles, choice is just nice, not many but food is ok with reasonable price, only RM21 per pax.

This will be my first time experience stayed in Tido Penang Hostel and really like it. The room is quite cosy and comfortable. Each person got one big locker space with key, pillow and mattress, reading light, a plug, blanket and towel. Free WiFi at all floors and in dorm room too. The hostel consist of 5 floors, 1st to 4th floor comes with 5 rooms & 5 individual bathroom & WC. The lounge on 5th floor was big and had great 2 swinging egg chairs and plenty of space over looking the view of the city. There was also a computer if you need to use one. Every floor has a iron and board. The 5th floor comes with books/magazine cupboard, table bench & high chair, soft sofa, a fridge, refillable hot/cold water filter and a small kitchenette. Free breakfast is at 5th floor overlooking the city in the morning that comes with self service toast, 4 types of spread, biscuits, coffee, tea & filtered water. Every shared bathroom is clean and comes with rain shower hot/cold pressure power and shampoo/body wash. The 8 bedded bunk room is clean and spacious and look exactly the same in the booking website. Open air parking is next to Caltex petrol station. All in all, for a price that am paying, I am happy with my stay and highly recommending and suggested this place for those who want to explore Georgetown The service overall was excellent and the facility was fabulous. The location was in a quiet area and very convenient for eating out. Highly recommend Tido.. :)

First WOW - look at all the cultural heritage, beautiful art, antique items and furniture, the Feng Shui Koi pond, water fountain, greenery! OMG- better than visiting a museum- you get to live and experience it!!! Second WOW- looking for street food? Walk around and you see stalls selling the local delish: SATAY, Lok Lok, Char Hor Fun and other stalls. Also, the handicraft stores with Batik and wooden sculptures! Other amenities : open swimming pool, 3 shower room next to it and hair dryer (tip: the water pressure and shower much more satisfying compared to bathtub or shower inside dorm room, and a game/ relax room filled with couch to wind down after a tiring day. and just Final WOW- the receptionist and staffs are helpful and well-informed! Guests were invited to join in the fun and you can see guests lounging in the open, relaxed and chatting with the staffs! Room for improvement: mosquitoes... can't seem to get rid of them ( so be prepared) and the places are considered clean... but not spotless. I hope this culturally rich building can be well maintained, and the places be properly upgraded even more as it succeeds as one of the most valuable hotel experience in Georgetown 🥰

It started off rough. Got into the hotel early to leave our luggage and the guy manning the check in was cold, standoffish, and didn’t even bother replying to our pleasantries. When we returned, a misunderstanding ensured. Cos of my earlier encounter, I was just unreasonable. But thank goodness for Suhaila (I think) and her manager - they deescalated the situation with grace and aplomb. That bump aside, I had a lovely time. Was in room 213. Initially I was worried because I have read about noise issues coming from the club next door. But either the club was closed or the soundproofing worked, there were no disturbances. We slept like babies. The room was beautiful, and the location is amazing. This hotel is highly Recommended. Just don’t bother to pay extra for the breakfast. That was just too sad. We tried it on our last day in the hotel as we were leaving early for the airport. It was dismal.

Yes, this is a budget Hotel. For around MYR 100 you get what you pay for. Great location, right in the action. Bars, Restaurants, hawker stalls, shops etc. Clean basic room, clean sheets, bed a little hard but still slept well. good A/C and shower facilities. There is hot and cold water 24/7 and a large balcony area with seating, overlooking the road where you can smoke vape and have a drink. Ironing station available. Only downside to this place is poor Wi-Fi. Could not get any internet in the reception area and definitely not in the rooms. Overall, an ok stay for a night or two. No problem recommending this Hotel.

We had a pleasant three-day stay at this hotel. The hotel is in an excellent location, situated between two large malls with plenty of shops and restaurants and within a reasonable cab ride to both George Town and Batu Ferringhi. The room was quite spacious but a little bit dated and worn down. It could use a refresh. The bed was very comfortable, however, and the water pressure in the shower was excellent. We enjoyed using the beautiful infinity pool. Service was friendly and efficient. One area that could use improvement is the breakfast. Although there is a good variety of items offered, many just weren't very tasty. The best thing on the buffet was the homemade ice cream. Overall, this is a good place to stay when exploring the island of Penang.

The hotel location is strategically placed in central on George Town. Everything is so closed by walking distance. Hotel staff were friendly. The Chinese uncle at the parking area was friendly. He said is the Co-owner of the hotel. Thanks for assisting me getting the parking The room was clean and neat. Although the hotel is by the road side, the road noise were almost to none. The WiFi connection was okay. Was hoping could use a faster connection. But I used it when in hotel. Not much to complain about. Parking lots are limited if you are travelling in evening. The staff will assist you anyway to get you a safe parking. Happy with my 3d2n stay. Recommended. Definitely will come again with a bigger room. Thanks Regards Happy customer and Penang’s food lover
