      We arrived, parked the car and went upstairs, we were shown into the Ashton Suite, well first of all, it looked like the tables were all put together in one long line, nothing about them looked nice. It was like a holiday camp, very loud, very noisy, could hardly hear the person sitting next to you. I was so close to the table next to mine, I thought that I was on of their group. There was absolute chaos. The the meal, warm roast turkey, 2 mini chipolatas that look like they had been boiled, all swimming in a thick gravy, then the dessert, a minute piece of cheesecake, and this meal was almost £40. The wine was undrinkable, the prosecco had already been opened, and left standing in a bucket with 2 pieces of ice in it, as it had already melted. Then the music was so loud as we were eating. I know this was a family party, but there was no organisation nothing. Sorry I cannot say anything nice, because there was nothing nice about it. Oh btw, one of the waiters stank of ****.

      Read the previous reviews that wrote recently but check in was great, Room good size and clean, problem with tv but sorted out straight away, housekeeping don’t service the rooms if in for more than one night but reception on hand if you need anything 24/7, The food was lovely from breakfast to evening meals to desserts was great and pleasantly surprised with it being a Britannia Hotel but loved everything from check in to check out, service by all the management & staff great. Ps no one hanging about outside or in corridors and no security as per other reviews must of been in a different hotel !

      We enjoyed our stay of two nights and wished we had been staying longer. The room was comfortable, clean and modern. The wi-fi worked well. Breakfast in the Cast Iron Grill was excellent. The swimming pool was a good size with sections for family and lane swimming. The staff were friendly and professional. The brew pub and sports bars were both very good with a great atmosphere and welcoming. Parking was busy but we always found a space.
