|0.57km from city centerOur first time at The View Hotel .. and we were not disappointed ! After arriving in the morning, Reception gave us a discounted parking ticket that allowed us to have parking directly outside the Hotel for just £2.00. After having a day out in Eastbourne Town, we returned to find that the sea view room that had been allocated to us ( Room 712 ) had excellent views of the sea and the Pier. We found the whole Hotel to be clean, tidy and modern - and the same applied to our room. We loved the location of the View Hotel, as we were within 10 min walking distance of the town and local bars and restaurants. Breakfast was excellent with a really good variety and we had a lovely view of the sea from our breakfast table. One of the best breakfasts that we have had in a Hotel in a long time. All staff were really helpful and accommodating and that was really appreciated. Full credit to Claire Prysor-Jones and the View Hotel Team for making out stay a really pleasurable experience and we will certainly be returning again and have no hesitation in recommending this Hotel to others.. Rob & Angela - We had fun at Planet Golf (on the Pier) - Glow In The Dark Crazy Golf - We had a nice meal and enjoyed the live music at The Belgian Cafe - Visited the Wish Tower Memorial - Next to the Wish Tower .. Bistro Pierre ( great menu / food at a good price / lovely views)

|0.36km from city centerWe stayed in room 121 , spacious, no view but it was only a base , biggest issue noise above someone walking around early for hours, squeaky floor boards , hotel quiet, otherwise ..
We parked ok, can be awkward depends on time but we parked out on front both times, we moved car . Parking £2 , covered until 11am in morning , purchase another ticket so you can stay for day your leaving .
We purchased breakfast £7.50 each , basic buy adequate with toast , hot drinks , fruit , croissants and muffins .
Staff all very helpful and pleasant , budget hotel but adequate

|0.43km from city centerWe were checked in for a two night stay and were given 3 rooms in total due to our horrific stay. The first room we were given was absolutely filthy! We requested a new room which we were given and only got worse from there. At 2:30 am we were woken up in discomfort and itchy, only to get up and investigate the bed and find multiple bed bugs across the bed and pillows. It was horrific!!!! The bites I have received were disgusting and what was even more upsetting and disappointment was the reaction of the staff. We were moved to another room at 3am and were told to complain to the day staff in the morning which we did. They only offered us a complimentary breakfast and 10% off our stay which was only £10.30. £10.30 after all we endured during our stay is laughable!!!! If only we could upload videos of the bed bugs we took, the pictures do not do it justice at all. NEVER EVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL. Especially if you value your peace, sanity and skin.

|1km from city centerWe stayed for 3 nights as a family with children under the age of 6 and had the best time. The hotel service is exceptional, every need was met. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by the valet who helped us park the car and take our bags. They reserved our space for us with a board for the whole stay. The children received a kids backpack with hat, yo-yo and colouring in. We went straight down to the health club to the indoor pool. When we came out the reception said our room was now ready and collected the keys for us. Our room was a junior suite, it spotless and sizeable with drinks provided on ice and slippers for everyone. In the evening the children could order complimentary milk and cookies which they loved. The outdoor pool was heated and lovely when the sun was out, this was end of may/June. There also was a waiter serving drinks outside. The breakfast was amazing, great selection and the kids loved have every meal served with a cloche and countdown reveal. The added extras on the service make this a wonderful hotel. The positives far outweigh the negatives, I guess it could do with some new carpets and some new upholstery but the charm of the old building supersedes this and although old it was very clean. The bed mattress was ok, quite soft. The sofa bed wasn’t very comfortable but ok for young children. We will be back again!! Thank you

|0.15km from city centerThe location is fantastic- easy walk from the station, on the sea front and close to the pier but also a short walk into the town centre. The reception team are very welcoming and helpful, providing great customer service. Although my single room was “compact”, it was very comfortable and came with a side view of the sea. The only downside was the shower water pressure was dreadful. However, I had a great stay and would recommend the Burlington Hotel for a very good value for money stay in Eastbourne.

|0.53km from city centerSuch a great little hotel. Eight of us went on a card-playing trip and staff were great, service amazing and very good fun (also, wine list small but excellent and great cocktails). Not sure how the staff manage though when whoever's running the hotel seems to think it's ok to have one person on for breakfast with 16 customers - that's a lot of cappuccinos to make, cooked orders to take, tables to clear - plus they had to check guests out too! They might want to think about that.

|0.34km from city centerSo this place was extremely disappointing! To say dated is being polite. We had booked a 4 night stay. Firstly we arrived and my husband had ti go find parking down a busy main road which you have to pay extra for daily. I took myself to the room only to find the smallest room I've ever seen with the smallest window, it was no bigger than a broom cupboard with the smallest window and it was so hot! There was no fan! I found out later that you have to ask for a fan! Why not leave them in the room when it's hot? It's been the hottest summer. As soon as my husband arrived, he was also little shocked and how small the room was so I called down to reception to find out if they had any bigger rooms and maybe a sea view and luckily there was one avaliable. Of we was staying just a night then I would have made the best of it. It cost another £80 for the upgrade. We went through to the bigger room with a sea view and the lady on reception brough us a fan! It becomes apparent how dated this hotel really is when the pillows on the bed are like rocks. The mattress protector is just old throws layer under the sheets. The bed was two singles pushed together and two single duvets. The beds are old and lumpy. Bearly slept over the 4 nights. The bathroom was terrible! I'm 5ft 3in and the shower over the bath was too low for me. There was hardly any water pressure. There was stains in the old tin like bath. The toilet roll was a tissue paper dispenser. Some random tiles place over the old white tiles over toilet which looked so out of place. Nowhere to put anything in the bathroom. I won't even start with the off coloured grouting. Two plugs in the whole room so had to keep uploading things whenever we used the kettle! One evening when we returned I went to use the small lift and it was full of cleaning stuff! Another occasion when leaving the room we nearly feel over the cable to the hoover which was plugged across our door and the cable was about a foot of the floor and cleaning supplies all over the floor! This hotel has nothing, no charm, no personal touches. With so many hotels in Eastbourne you'd think you'd want to stand out but I don't think anyone's cared about this place since the 80s. I don't tend to complain but for the price it wasn't worth it, you are paying for the location and not a decent room. The lady who upgraded us was lovely, she was the only good point to this place. I did laugh at the ”no smoking in this vehicle” sticker on the bath of the bathroom door.

|3.74km from city centerGreat hotel staff and breakfast. Only let down was lack of the normal Premier Inn coffee machine offering a variety of coffees at breakfast. Added to this we had the last of the fresh milk on our breakfast cereal. Every other Premier Inn we have stayed at has had a coffee machine do not spoil the ship for a halfpenny of tar Premier Inn!

|0.9km from city centerWe recently stayed at this beautiful historic hotel on Eastbourne’s stunning seafront. I cannot fault the quality of our stay. The hotel has been beautifully refurbished and is an oasis of peace and calm. The dining experience is exquisite and the delicious breakfasts are hearty and plentiful. The staff go out of their way to help and the rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable. The views out to see are breathtaking. We’ve stayed in several hotels in Eastbourne but this one is our absolute favourite by far. We will be returning again and again. Thank you to all the lovely staff for our fantastic weekend.

|4.53km from city centerFrom the wonderfully warm welcome to the lovely personalised touches (a birthday cupcake and card for my wife), the Niche makes you feel happy to be there. Ed and Rob are brilliant hosts. The room had loads of character (including a massive rococo headboard!), The bathroom had a strong shower, a super-deep bath with robes, posh bath bubbles, shampoos etc. Plenty of helpful advice from the hosts on where to eat and drink in the evening. And to round it off, a brilliant breakfast It's not the cheapest option but it's worth every penny.

|0.26km from city centerBooked to stay at this hotel on Hotels.com. Due to a glitch, the dates I had chosen changed when I minimised the screen to find a promo code, and I didn't realise until the booking was confirmed. Saw immediately the error and went onto Live Chat. Advisor was very helpful and said the hotel's policy was no penalty if amended within 10 minutes. I had started the conversation within 3 minutes, so no problem. I was put on hold whilst Hotels.com contacted the hotel. Unfortunately that conversation was disconnected whilst on hold. The 2nd advisor picked up where the first left off but this time the hotel said no as 10 minutes had now passed. How ridiculous is that? The advisor at Hotels.com escalated this to a manager at the hotel, but still they would not honour their own policy. The Hotels.com advisor was brilliant and gave me a voucher to the value of the booking and they took the hit. The OYO Marine Parade Hotel have no integrity and I would not attempt to book with them again.

|1.16km from city centerVery hard to find as it's just named Hotel. Not Halcyon. Small unassuming frontage white house converted. Carpets in reception and up stairs abyssmal Staff pleasant. Room was good but cold. Lovely view. Not much good if you arrive and it's getting dark and have to be up early for marathon. Had to ask for central heating to be put on which went off later. No extra blanket in room. Clock in room was lovely but wasn't working. Extremely expensive for one night. £172 ??expecting full breakfast, was continental, cheap cereals, days old croissants that were microwaved, cheap yoghurt. Things you'd tally pay peanuts for. I asked why it was so expensive I was told that's the price for that room. But when I was booking they had another room and was told it was also £170. Today it's £70???

|0.11km from city centerWe stayed at this hotel as we won a voucher and this was the only hotel to accept it in the area. We stayed in room 114 and feel that 3/5 is generous. Communication when booking was very delayed, the room was very tired but had everything needed. The shower head needs Limescale remover, toilet needs fixing to the floor / wall as moved every time it was used. Only 1 towel each, and no floor towel or hand towel provided - we took our own bathrobes so this wasn’t a huge problem for us but was disappointing, the mattress was very soft and the springs had gone, but more worryingly there were no mattress or pillow protectors 🤢 our room did have a balcony which you could sit out on and had a nice view of the pier, the building in front burnt down 3 years ago and there’s still scaffolding up protecting the ruins. This has opened up the view a bit more and sunrise on the day we left was lovely. Our room had doors that opened out onto the balcony which I loved. It is quite noisy being by the road and some of the guests that were staying there while we were there were annoying and loud during the night but this isn’t the hotels fault! Communal spaces were not inviting or even looked open to use including the bar! Can’t comment on breakfast as it wasn’t available when we stayed but this was advised at booking and we quite enjoyed going for a walk and choosing somewhere to eat and highly recommend Nicolettas 2 min walk behind the hotel and the Beach Deck 20 min walk out of the hotel to the left. The location is good as you’re very central but the clock on the pier ringing every 15 minutes 8am-11pm is annoying. Parking permit (£2 per day) outside the hotel is good. Behind the hotel is a good selection of eateries and the Beacon shopping centre. Overall not bad and would probably come back if these small issues were fixed

|1.46km from city centerReception staff most unhelpful and not forthcoming with giving information. When booking I sent an email asking where we could eat with our dog that was booked in and paid for. I have no problem paying extra to take the dog but I do expect a reply, I didn't get one. When we checked in I asked again to be told that we could not have an evening meal as dogs were not allowed but we could have a light lunch menu or snack. Not what we wanted after travelling for 3.5 hours. We went somewhere else to eat. We asked about breakfast to be told we could eat in our bedroom or in the library. We opted for the library but it is very difficult and bad for the digestion to eat a hot breakfast on a lounge table, just the right height for the dog. We really did feel like outsiders. Dogs may be welcome but the owners are not. Must say the restaurant staff were lovely and I think they felt embarrassed about the whole thing. It would make it slightly better if they had a table the right height to eat.

|0.71km from city centerEasy to find and good location however after a hectic day the greeting from the receptionist was less than welcoming. He was on the phone to someone and continued with his conversation without acknowledgement or comment. Asked for my ID to which I replied I didn't know I need to provide one especially as paid directly with travel agent and is not necessary. He told me no I'd you not stay I will cancel booking. I said all I'm saying is it would be nice to know beforehand and should be in the confirmation email. It got heated. Finally got my keys. No lift and on top floor. No offer of assistance. Room adequate and comfortable for price paid. Receptionist came and apologised which was appreciated.
All. In all a comfortable stay but unlikely to return
