Since it was just for a 2D1N stay, my partner & I chose this budget hotel due to its location & value. It was close to the airport & past reviews were positive. When we arrived, there was ample parking space. However, there was no concierge & we had to carry our bags into the Hotel. An elderly man attended to us at the reception. As we arrived early at 12 pm, he explained that our room was not ready. Check-in time was at 2 pm. Since our room was not ready, he asked whether we could take the room on the 1st floor. We had no issue & accepted graciously. There was no lift to the 1st floor. Thus, we had to carry our luggage ourselves to our room. Our room was a decent size although it felt a little claustrophobic as there was no space beside our double bed on both ends. The mattress was soft which was not good for my back & the pillows were equally soft too. The TV was mounted to the wall, facing the bed. I believe we had satellite TV but we did not get to enjoy it as we were out most of the day & came home late. The closet follows the open Scandinavian concept where hangers are hung out in the open for all to see. Two bottled water were given inclusive of tea & coffee making facilities. The air-conditioner came in handy as it cooled the room fast. Our room was also equipped with complimentary WiFi. The bathroom was clean & came with the basic water heater which took time to heat up. There was also a hand bidet which we greatly appreciated. We went out after checking in & came back late in the evening. Since it was such a hot day, we finished the bottled water. My partner went to the lobby with the intention of buying a couple of bottled water to quench our thirst. However, I was told that the staff had given 2 additional water bottles free of charge. Although check-out is at 12 pm, we checked-out the next day early in the morning & were given 2 more additional water bottles on the house. I would definitely come back to Tanjong Inn. A mentioned earlier, apart from its location & value, their generosity exceeds any 5-Star Hotel!

I really love this place as it offers a great peace in mind. The room is spacious, the design is decent, the tv channel is good, the surrounding is super full of peaceful vibes and you can also find a cattle farm nearby and can walk to there. The herds are safe and you can play with them. I was here for a transit before going to Perhentian Island. the family was very sweet they really took care of our hospitality and what not, the best place ive went in kelantan. The next trip, i will come and stay here again thats for sure The price is really affordable. For this price, its a value over price property. Keep it up Riverside Greenery Inn for such wonderful experience

For some reason Booking.com won't put my review up on their site so I'll write about it here. We were a bit skeptical about this place when we booked it, as it didn't have any reviews yet. But as it was a new hotel, this can happen. The pictures looked good and it would just be for one night, as we would get on a plane the next morning. First of all: we couldn't find it because there was no OYO sign or anything suggesting this was a hotel. With a lot of searching and asking the reception at a nearby OYO, we finally got there. The guy behind the desk was friendly but used his phone to confirm we were indeed the guests that booked the room. He led us through our room and in the hallway we already noticed everything looked quite dirty. When we got to our room, we saw mouse droppings near the door and even on our bed! The bathroom was super tiny and the shower was above the toilet. The only way to actually use it, would have been by sitting on the toilet. There was a thick layer of dust on the window frame, accompanied by some sort of fungus and again, some sort of animal feces... We booked another room in the city and left this place as fast as we could! We did get a refund, so that was nice!

It is said to be the best hotel in Kota Bharu. It is quite big and very clean. Because I only stayed for one night to get on the island, I can still be the first choice. I didn't find anything to eat around, and I ate KFC. The room was not good for me, and there was a door next door, there was a need to open it, and all the soundproofing was poor. The guest next door has been watching TV sounds so loud that it makes us a little uncomfortable. The pool is quite big but we didn't swim. Breakfast is good and the variety is good. There are too few Chinese here, and there is no Chinese in the whole day.

Located right behind Chinatown hence food was not issue, also since this hotel is situated behind the banking district, it is easy to find facilities you might require from diving supplies to medicine or food. There is a 'Nasi kukus' stall near to the hotel (in front of 7-11) and there are lots of Chinese food stalls scattered about. Plus there's also an Indian restaurant. Other than that, the local market is quite a walk, (about 20 minutes) but there's really nothing else to do, but if you are there for work or if you enjoy peaceful towns, then this hotel is not bad location wise. The room I stayed in was a superior queen but there are no windows so you can get cabin fever if you stay too long. WiFi is stable, strong and reliable but the strange part is the shower, bathrooms are small and the shower controls are located at the other end of the bathroom, so to control water temperature, you'll have to walk across the bathroom butt naked and then jump back in the shower and repeat the process til you get the temperature you like. Perhaps because I was the only occupant that week, but breakfast was mediocre at best, they served me ala carte fried noodles, sausages and eggs. Typical Malay food but you'd be better off having breakfast outside. If you're reaching by grab, ask the driver to go through Chinatown and the hotel is behind Public Bank, they often can't find it. The staff are pleasant people though so it was a tolerable stay
