0.57km from Ruby's BaguetterieThere is no good reason to stay in Bad Godesberg. It’s a pleasant enough town but not much there. If you do end up staying in Bad Godesberg, avoid staying at this hotel. It doesn’t have much atmosphere but boasts small, old fashioned rooms. I was first given a room on the first floor (US: second floor), facing the Rheinallee. I switched very quickly for two main reasons. For one, the room was shockingly uncomfortable. Small, cramped, old and just depressing. Secondly, the Rheinallee is a fairly busy road with lots of buses and unless you’re a heavy sleeper, it won’t be conducive to a good night’s sleep. Also, the outdoor restaurant seating right underneath the window added to the noise level, and the flimsy blinds would have meant bright daylight by 5 am in the summer. So I moved to the second floor (US: third) in a room facing the back. It was much quieter, seemed larger, and had much better blinds. It also had one special feature: a shower cabin inside the room. At a quick glance, it looked like a closet, and it didn’t bother me at all, but might be too quirky for some people. The room was alright, at least I didn’t feel depressed anymore, but I wouldn’t go so far as to say I liked it. Other than the less than exciting rooms, breakfast in the morning was ok, standard German fare, and staff were friendly. Location is not too bad, about a ten minute walk to the town centre and train station, and a 15 minute walk to the Rhine. I only stayed here because my hosts had booked the accommodation for me, and I would strongly recommend you find another place, preferably in Bonn.
