Looked to be a modern building or recently refurbished. Parking £2 for 24 hours which is very reasonable for city centre hotel. Staff very friendly on reception. Clean room with everything you expect from a Travelodge. Don’t get a room facing the road - very poor sound insulation and even with industrial standard ear plugs you will struggle to sleep. Also get a room on very top floor as sound transmission from rooms above very high. A word for Travelodge Please Please Please do something about your dreadfully uncomfortable foam pillows. The bed also seems narrower than the rival beds of a budget chain used previously. Minor things that would make me want to stay again though not in Ipswich.

Firstly, the staff are absolutely fantastic. They can't do enough for you, and make you feel extremely comfortable. We had dogs with us and they also made our two dogs feel very welcome. We stayed here for a wedding, and got about 5 hours sleep in two nights, and that's not because of our party life! The hotel is right on the harbour, which is stunning, BUT, you are also right next door to which seems like Ipswich's only club, Isaacs! Our room overlooked Isaacs!! the room was about 30C inside and had NO air con! Therefore we had to have the windows open on both nights and all we heard for two nights was drunks walking up and down and the horrendous music from Isaacs. I know the hotel can't do anything about this, but at least have air con in the room so the windows can be shut and you can ignore the noise! We wouldn't return purely because of this. Gave 3 stars because as I said, the staff were fantastic but overall experience wasn't great.

The hotel is currently under renovation on the second floor and can only be taken to the second floor by the staff elevator, so the overall experience is not ideal. The room is relatively small in general. Some service staff will help us to lay the sofa bed for children, but there are not many good hotels here in Yipu, so this is a convenient hotel from the central city. . No breakfast choice, the restaurant looks small. Parking is 7 pounds a night, which is ok.

We have stayed here a couple of times now as we visit family in the area. It is a good location as it is at the right end of town for us. We usually have either an executive room or a suite. Both sound grander than they are but they are more than adequate for our needs. The suite is very spacious. Like many before me have said the hotel is dated. To be honest if they would just replace all of the windows it would make a massive difference. Both rooms we have stayed in have modern bathrooms, which also really helps. Despite the rooms being dated they are clean, tidy and well presented. The floors in the room and around the hotel always seem clean. Any staff we encouter have been friendly. It is obvious it has had no invesment for a while, other than the bathrooms, so the price they charge is appropriate for what they offer. We have never eaten an evening meal here, but we always enjoy the breakfasts, so have been surprised to read a few reviewers who have not been happy. There are pastries, cereal, melon, other fruits, cheese, ham and hot selection which has always been bacon, sausage, beans, potato hash pieces, scrambled egg, mushrooms, fried bread, tomatoes. There is a toast machine with choice of jams and you can request poached or fried eggs which are cooked fresh. The lady who is usually on the tables at breakfast is always polite and friendly. I feel this hotel offers exceptional value for money for what we recieve in terms of space, quality of bed and bedding, cleanliness and hsopitality. To improve it would require some refurbishment of the rooms with new sofa's in particular which do look a bit grubby. We will contniune to use this hotel for our future visits to see family. There are a number of restaurants, mainly chains, within a very short drive (Nando's Chiquito's Tobi carvery, McD'd and KFC fast food).

Couldn’t be happier with the service I received and condition of the room upon my unannounced arrival! The gentleman at reception was very friendly, professional and accommodating, (Haroon I think his name was?) I turned up on the off chance they had a spare room, I was very lucky! The room was spacious, clean, and the building was quiet and peaceful. Will definitely stay again when in the area, was a real pleasure and an absolute bargain price. Thank you Haroon and staff at Bridge Guest House :) - Morgan

I was taken here to stay over a night in suffolk for a birthday treat. We arrived mid pm to the Interesting and glamorous décor in main reception giving a feeling of asian luxury. The staff were friendly and helpful. We booked to eat in the main restaurant later but recommend doing this in advance as they were quite booked up. Our room was one of the garden rooms which were outside the main hotel building, but this meant they were quiet (especially as the hotel had a wedding on that day) and roomy and we had a huge bed, tea and coffee tray and toiletries in the bathroom. Even a little outside seating area where we had a cuppa and listened to the birds. Only down was the condition of the room was a little tired and faded - furniture was a bit battered and the seats threadbare in places but it was clean and what hotel after 2 years of covid has spare cash to redecorate all rooms? There is a nice spa with a pool, sauna and jacuzzi which we made use of (ask reception for towels and a locker key) and it wasn't too crowded and was well maintained. I think there was a gym somewhere too. The bar was nicely done and the barman friendly and enthusiastic. Although the wedding party was going on we couldn't hear it at all. The restaurant was lovely in the historical part of the hotel - wood panelling and cosy tables. And the food! Wow - had such a wonderful meal. Definitely an Italian slant to the menu & it was so nice. I can particularly recommend the garlic prawns - they were amazing.

Close to the train station, if the transfer is convenient. I'll set the price. Check in is the bar counter, which has its own characteristics and personally prefers the bar counter. Wifi seems to be charged, it is the only hotel in the UK. Most restaurants for breakfast, including Hilton, are around £ 10, and here are more than £ 15, so I did n’t eat it, I do n’t know how.
