|22.85km from city centerThis place is obviously still struggling from the effects of the Covid lockdowns. The staff is the best part of this place. The air conditioner is undersized & has a daylight gap all around it. The room refrigerator is worthless because its electric circuit shuts down when you leave the room. Who wants to come back from a trip & grab a warm drink from the ref? Breakfast buffet is pretty slim. They post signage asking you to conserve water, but they don't even include water saving faucets or shower heads. And then there were the bugs. If I had known that they are offering 'Hourly Rates' I would have avoided this place.

|24.23km from city centerRema Tourist Inn is a pretty average hotel in Puerto Princessa, a solid 30 to 45 min walk to the main area of Risal Avenue or Baywalk area. Close to the airport, you can get a taxi from airport to the hotel, cost approx 600 php,you will need to negotiate. If trabelling alone, vet a trike/ tricycle for around 200 php. When at the hotel, you will need to wait at the front and hail a trike/tricycle mototaxi and pay between 100 to 150 php to get to the main area. There is literally nothing around the hotel apart from two convenience store huts about 10 meters away from the hotel. Also large malls accessible by trike. The hotel itself is overall nice, however more can be done to upgrade the rooms, bathroom area and the clenliness of the pool. Staff at the hotel are nice and friendly amd dont hassle you if you bring friends over. Rooms are dated with a mismatch of furniture mostly of an older type and the room is of a nice size with very cold AC, unfortunately the remote gets jammed and hard to turn on and off. There is only a fridge in the room and no kettle and or tea/ coffee making facilities. Overall good value for money and ok for a short stay. I hope this review is helpful : )

|25.83km from city centerConvenient location 10min away from PPS Airport. Central in town, easy to walk to nearby eateries and amenities. Laundry shop just 2min walk away, bakeries and eateries within a 5min walk.
Super friendly staff and helpful reception. Free airport transfer is much appreciated too. Even managed to book an in-room massage for us! Only area of improvement is breakfast could be served faster, but otherwise tasty and good.
Thank you for the lovely stay!

|23.68km from city centerPhilippine hotels are generally available for extra beds. Breakfast is told one day in advance to tell the boss to eat breakfast time. They do not taste the taste. Everyone has a different feeling. It is also possible to get a lot of money from the nearby banks. It is very convenient to mention the nearby The roast suckling pig shop tastes good, salty, spicy and sweet.

|26.85km from city centerThe place was a little ways out so you gotta have everything you need handy. They can get a tricycle for you but those charge exorbitant prices. We arrived about 30 mins. earlier so it was understandable that the room was still being prepared. But that I had to ask the staff if the room was ready a little past 2PM before they directed us to our room was Strike 1 for me. The family room was large so we enjoyed having our ”own space” within the room. It was also very near the pool (the window by my bed opens to it) so watching the kids was easy. The pool, however, was a real downer when you book the place online and you came for the pool (like what my daughter did). It looked really nice in the picture and the actual pool was, well, a pool; and the chlorine in the water was overwhelming. That was Strike 2. I didn't even bother to go in. Come dinnertime, we ordered our meal. It tasted good BUT they only had one platter of rice ready at such a time! We had to stop and wait for the second platter of rice. Can you imagine having to stop in the middle of your meal because you have to wait for the additional rice, that is a Filipino meal staple by the way. I can let that slide because you can choose to chat with the family and pick on the grilled stuffed squid while waiting. My breakfast platter, however, was a very oily number. I had bacon, eggs and toasted bread (with butter and jam). But we'll let that slide too. Upon checkout, I requested for receipts for our in-house meals. It was my way of verifying the cost of dinner because the amount relayed to me did not add right as opposed to what I computed from the menu when I placed the order and had it charged to the room. I was thinking maybe the additional fees and service charge added up and all that. The lady at the counter took forever (an exaggeration, of course) and was doing a side thing addressing someone who seems to be an employee but not in uniform at the time. A PWD walking with a cane as I am, I reached a point where I could no longer tolerate standing on pretty much one leg so I told her that I will leave my daughter to wait for the receipts while I take a seat at the tricycle they called for us since their van was not around. She was told that we should have given advance notice if we wanted receipts. I'm a bit taken aback because that has always been ready for me in the places I've been too. Don't they automatically prepare receipts for issuance after an order has been served and set for room charge? Those were dinner and breakfast and we checked out at 12nn. They had ample time to prepare it unless they had no intention to issue the receipts. That was definitely Strike 3 for me...and so this review. This may seem like a rant but I really just want the matter addressed. The place has potential but the customer service needs to improve. Whatever fell short of expectations in the amenities department could have easily been made up for by excellent cus

|23.25km from city centerThe resort is big and lovely. The people at the reception are very accommodating and friendly. The room is big and clean. The only downside to this resort is the abominable service at their restaurant. We ordered just 4 shakes and 2 sandwiches. It took 45mins for them to get the shakes to our table, and that’s only because we already followed up. The sandwich was nowhere to be seen and they only started making it after we asked again! This resort seems popular with wedding receptions and if you’re unlucky enough to be staying while they’re preparing for one, good luck. It seems like even if you paid big money for your stay, your needs will take a backseat to wedding preparations. Take note, the resort does not have a convenience store and it’s far from places to buy food. Prepare to go hungry. EDIT: We gave the resto another shot and I am happy to say they more than made up for the previous mishap. Service was vastly improved. Staff was very apologetic and attentive.

It's very quiet around except for the roosters singing all the time which makes it more atmospheric. The hotel is a bit far from everything but it's not a problem if you can ride a motorbike which you can rent at the reception desk.
If we come back to Puerto-Princesa we will definitely stay in this hotel again!

|24.25km from city centerThe location is good, it's close enough to the airport that it's walkable or it'll be around 50 pesos in a tricycle (expect to pay a bit more with the white tax).
There is a mall nearby Robinson's with a good supermarket. Also some good coffeeshops if you need to work.
Be sure to bring cash as even places like McDonald's often have issues with card machines
There is a nice beach on the East Coast (photos here) as well as the Church of Immaculate Conception which is nice to see while in town.

|19.67km from city centerThe one flaw in this hotel was the location. Not that far from the airport or the malls, but you absolutly need a trike or a taxi to go anywhere. The trike was cheap, only a dollor or two but a bit of a pain waiting for it. 10 or 15 minutes. not a big dea\
Pool was awesome\
Food was good
Staff was excellant
Sunsets were really good. Hotel backs right on to the beach. Swimming is tuff in the sea cuz at low tide, the water recedes to 100 or so meters away. but the pool is good.
The only real site that I found to go to was the Underground River, so Puerto Princess is good for a 3 day vist.

|24.06km from city centerWe booked the village house just for one night but would have definitely stayed longer! Roy, the host from the moment we walked in made sure we were well looked after. We have just been fly in the whole night so he offered us to cook a filipino lunch. So we walked down to the local market together to get fresh ingredients and he recommended us to try a native desert such as turon (it's definitely worth a try - we had three) So lunch was amazing! He helped us with making the simcards going and answered every single question. If we come back we will definitely stay here again! Its the chance for you to experience the life of a happy local. Thank you Roy you made it 10/10!

|23.99km from city centerWe are checking out today after 4 nights here at Balai Princesa and every minute of our stay has been wonderful. Our whole family felt like this has been our home away from home. From the moment we had been greeted at the airport and brought here, every single member of their staff had made sure we are comfortable and made everything convenient for us. We sometimes feel like we’re long lost friends and family. I usually mention a few special members of the staff who have shown exceptional customer service, but for Balai Princesa literally every member of the staff has been exceptional: everyone from reception, F&B, housekeeping, and the spa. If I mention all their names, I would probably not have enough space left on this post. And my usual detailed breakdown is below: Room: spacious and very clean. The hotel had only opened in Jan2019 so it still feels new. The aircon is can be adjusted to your preferred temperature and you can choose to always come home to a cold room to relieve you of the heat and humidity outside. There is no tv in the room, but if you have a mobile device, then wifi is strong enough for you to watch Netflix before you go to sleep :) Bed: moderately firm mattress and pillows, just the way we like it. We had a goodnight sleep every time. Food: top-notch. Every single item on the menu that we tried had been delicious. Facilities: There are two jacuzzi tubs at the back for you to relax and while away time on a quiet early evening before heading to dinner. Then before heading off to bed, try the signature massage their spa and all those tight and sore muscles from walking and swimming will be relieved. Service: We could be singing high praises even long after we’ve left Balai Princesa. We’re a family of seasoned travelers and we all agree that their customer service is one of the best that we have ever experienced. They are really at the top of the charts. Over-all: Every traveler has their own style. If you are a traveler who prefers to stay downtown and within walking distance of shopping malls and the main street, then maybe this isn’t the place for you. For those who are looking for quiet and comfort and relaxation, stay here in Balai Princesa. You are guaranteed to feel refreshed and rejuvenated after your stay...and if ever you’re returning to Puerto Princesa, you’re surely going to want to come home to Balai Princesa again.

|22.61km from city centerSpent two nights here after returning from an island hopping tour in El Nido. Large clean rooms with strong aircon, a reasonably sized bathroom, and good bed. Located in a barangay away from downtown, there isn't much in the area other than sari sari stores and occasional street food vendors. Water cooler outside for drinking water, but the pool and bakery were both closed for our stay. Airport shuttle was quite expensive at 500 pesos for two persons.

Jonathan and Tina are ultra mega super hosts and the people around them are also amazing - Loloy and/or Greg know the best places to go and are great to hang out with. Loved the local food down the street, I had Palcit and Pares and some nice talks with the cooks Glad that I extended my stay and miss this place already- I’ll be back❤️

Puerto Princesa
|26.26km from city centerThis is supposedly the only 5 star resort in the area which is sad as I think competition might actually inspire them to do better. The place itself is very nice and initial impressions are quite excellent. But the longer we stayed the more we noticed the lack of upkeep in the rooms. The size of the bathroom is big but there is not a single electrical outlet inside so you cannot plug in anything not even the hairdryer. The shower glass door does not close shut and with the very strong water pressure you can be assured of a very wet overflowing floor outside of the shower enclosure. We paid for 2 extra persons in the room which they informed us meant sharing the beds and breakfast inclusive but they don’t automatically provide the extra towels. Even after calling them to request for more towels they still took more than 2 days to give us our extra towels. The water in the pool is quite warm and not refreshing as the heat of the sun kept it quite warm but some of our friends actually liked it that way so it’s more of a personal preference. The drying rack in the balcony is a nice touch as we can dry our swim clothes there. There are also water dispensers in the hallway which is great for refilling the complimentary glass bottles of water provided. Buffet breakfast is included in the room rates but don’t expect anything extraordinary. The Italian restaurant in the resort does not seem to be ready for the tourist influx as food came out ever so slowly and we felt bad for the foreign tourists who don’t complain as much as the locals so we did get our food faster than they did. The resort is expanding so there is construction ongoing which is a positive sign of tourist revival in PP which I’m happy about for them but I wish they would also pay closer attention to the upkeep of the existing rooms.

|22.75km from city centerReally liked the rooftop with the infinity pool and bar, the staff were super smiling and pleasant to talk to, the staffs looked clean and well groomed, the restaurant was beautiful
The less positive is that the shower could have been cleaner , the food was ok , nothing really bad but just on a low standard which was still ok for the price we paid, plus I take it as normal in Philippine, I couldn’t really expect them to cook western food like Michelin star restaurant.
Overall a very nice stay and certainly a great value.

|21.39km from city centerFrom the moment we entered we were impressed with the grounds, lots of trees and plants, a huge aviary with some very happy budgies, two lovely Shih Tzu’s and a cat. The strange point was before arriving we were talking about how we were missing our Shih Tzu’s then seing two really bought a smile to our faces. Walking to reception the vibe of the place was, it’s family run, not sure if that’s right but I’m going with my instinct. The staff in all areas were great, many doubling up in other areas. We had room 3 which is next to reception. It was very clean, the bed very comfortable, very good air-con with a ceiling fan also. Good size flatscreen TV with a multitude of channels, fast wifi, open plan wardrobe and shelves for clothes and plenty of lighting and plug sockets for gadgets. Bathroom is spacious with a powerful rainforest shower and good quality towels. You will need to bring your own toiletries as they do not supply those. Your order breakfast in the evening for the morning, it’s adequate to kick start the day and good quality. We ordered our evening meal after breakfast, absolutely everything is fresh and after being in El Nido you will understand what a God send that is. They have a large indoor swimming pool which is also used to teach sub aqua diving so if your looking to do a PADI course then stay here as it’s excellent value for money. We also hired Scooters at the hotel which were nearly new. and their local knowledge of areas to visit was very helpful. We stayed twice here as we wanted to travel the island and they allowed us to leave our luggage at no charge, even late checkout was not a problem, we really loved everything about this place. When travelling around Palawan you are restricted on luggage, the busses generally allow 15kg per person, the vans alot less. We didn’t like the van due to being packed in like sardines and me being claustrophobic so we went to El Nido by taxi which was £110 and came back by bus which was £24 for the two of us. Next time we will spend more time in this area as we really haven’t done it justice and Balay Tuko will be our base

|23.07km from city centerI stayed at Carp Diem for several nights as part of a group of six adults and we really enjoyed our visit. I saw several of the different rooms / villas and they were all presented nicely and were well maintained. The private swimming pools with the villas were particularly enjoyable, and the main pool is also good. We dined at the restaurant multiple times and found the food and service very good. We sampled most items on the menu, and they were all prepared well and there was nothing we didn’t like. Generous sized portions and complimentary amuse bouche from the chef each night. Would definitely stay again!

|25.76km from city centerWe stayed in the Hotel from 20th to 24th of June 2022! I originally booked a room that could cater 3 pax (2adults & 1 kid (10). When we get there they could’nt find my booking & contacted trip.com! Finally they’re able ro retrieve it but room was too small and said could only accommodate 2pax, otherwise they can put an extra matress! Even a mattress is placed, the room would be too crowded. So I checked my best option and that is to change into another room. We jz have to wait. I contacted trip.com about this and they were very sorry about the confusion of room accommodation and offered a compensation for the extra mattress fee!😅
Regarding the hotel, food was good although to refill water is CHARGED!! 500 ml bottled water is 10pesos, I don’t get it, it should be for free!😅 Breakfast meal’s price i think could be lower and everyday room service should be a must!

|25.87km from city centerFor this price and for the great hospitality from the host, this is perhaps the best B&B accommodation in Puerto Princesa. The exterior may not look much for the world, but once you step inside, I can assure you that you will feel like you are home. The sitting corner where you can have free flow of coffee, tea or cocoa is very nice. And the garden inside the property will make you feel even more at home away from home. The room is very nice with lovely bed and wash basin outside the toilet. The Wifi in the room could be a bit faster, but the one in the reception area is lightning fast. The breakfast was ok where you have a selection of Filipino dishes, and the serving was not too big nor too small. The location may be a bit off the grid, but you can always take the tricycle to a more central part of town. All in all, a nice stay with friendly host for a great price.

|22.81km from city centerWe did not want to leave this place! From our travels across the Philippines, this was by far, one of the loveliest hotels we’ve stayed in. It’s small but perfect. It’s clean, the room décor is lovely and super cosy! The bathroom was lovely, we did have a broken shower, but it was fixed within minutes of us reporting it. The food in the restaurant was tasty, alongside this, so we’re the cocktails. We were lucky that the hotel was fairly quiet when we stayed, and we spent most evenings having the pool to ourselves. The best asset of this hotel was the staff! Jayanne was our knight in shining armour, she was unbelievably helpful in answering all our questions and sorting our laundry out for us. Another outstanding member of the reception team was Kath, who was equally as helpful. Jan was our main server in the restaurant and it’s obvious he put a lot of care and attention into his work, both he and Jay were extremely lovely and attentive. This hotel also has a fantastic location, it’s only a 15-minute walk from a main shopping centre but our favourite day was walking towards a little local beach through the village, it was bliss and worth a walk if you stay here. As the hotel is set back from the main road, there’s no heavy traffic passing by. The only absolute downside I could advise on staying here is that next door, the neighbour was farming cockerels (for the fighting season), I don’t know if this was a temporary sport, or he has them all year round, but they were SO loud! And when they made any noise, so did all the local dogs. It genuinely didn’t ruin our stay, but it did become our alarm early each morning. Other than that, this hotel was practically perfect, we would love to come back!
