We were staying at Hacienda for almost 2 weeks in Jan/Feb 2020 and enjoyed our stay very much. We had booked a garden bungalow which was a little further from the beach but we didn’t mind at all, as it was situated in a small beautiful garden. Location We loved the location as Hacienda is in the centre of Maenam beach. There are many restaurants and bars nearby. If you need to exchange money or buy something from the supermarket, you can find plenty of places to do so, as the main road is just around the corner. We also loved the walking street market which takes place nearby every Thursday from 17:00 to approx 22:00. Rooms The rooms were clean and had everything we needed, including a safe and a small fridge. There was also an air-conditioner (which we appreciated very much) and a fan (which we kept running at low speed at night, as it could get very hot and we had trouble sleeping). In the beginning we had some trouble with ants coming out of the wall in the bathroom but we decided not to make a big deal of it. We didn’t bother them and they didn’t bother us in return, haha. Be prepared that some small geckos may get into your room, but again, not a big deal - it’s Thailand. The cleaning staff is very attentive and does a nice job preparing the room. Hacienda is supposedly running some eco program to save water - there are fliers in the room that encourage you not to change the towels every day if you don’t really need to. Which we didn’t and we let the staff know we don’t need the room cleaned every day, but we received new towels every day anyways. I didn’t quite understand this part. The 2 bottles of fresh water every day were very appreciated though. Food The breakfast was simple but nice, it was being served all day. We booked through Booking and had 3 options for breakfast - Thai, Continental and Western (+ additional 60 thb). All options included tea/coffee, baguette/croissant/toast, juice and a fruit platter with mango, banana, watermelon and pineapple. Thai option included extra rice soup (which we didn’t try), Continental option included only things mentioned above and Western option included extra eggs, bacon, sausages, baked potato and some fresh veggies. You can also order anything from the breakfast menu for an additional charge. The rest of the menu includes western and thai cuisine but it is quite pricey for Thailand, therefore we decided to eat somewhere else. Staff We can only say the best about Pu and Som - they really tried their best to make our stay pleasant. They were very nice and attentive, we especially appreciated the option to make slight changes to our pre-made breakfast menus. They also booked us a taxi to airport (slightly cheaper than other taxis) and also helped us to call the company which was supposed to pick us up at the hotel but was 30minutes late. They deserve all our thanks.

We stayed 6 nights at Ampha Place hotel. Didier offers you a warm welcome and he is always on hand if you need anything. The hotel is a nice size meaning the pool is never too busy. All rooms overlook the pool and opposite the hotel there are no buildings so the view of trees is pleasant. It’s only about a 3 minute walk to MaeNam beach which is attractive. There are a few restaurant/bars along the beach - we visited the Nature bar a few times during our stay for happy hour. There is a 7/Eleven about a 5 minute walk away though it is across the busy main road. Plenty of restaurants further along the main road to the right - approx 15 minute walk from hotel. We liked Ma Yom (always popular) and the Chicken Farm. This street with the restaurants holds a night market every Thursday eve- definitely worth visiting. We ate breakfast at the hotel, prices are okay. Didier can arrange taxis for you- he helped us get one from the airport and also we took a 4 hour trip around some of the island. My only issue was the bed was very hard and the chair on the balcony needed a cushion.

"Right" on the beach, could not get any closer. The infinity pool is excellent, very clean and modern. Very quiet location, even though there are many bars and restaurants on the doorstep. Good a/c, two free bottles of water per day. Breakfast was good, nothing special but more than adequate. Staff were very pleasant, particularly, Tim, the receptionist, very helpful. Our room, a junior suite, which was very large, was very dated with lots of minor faults, however I believe the suite is due for refurbishment. During peak periods the suite even though dated , would be a good choice as it has a large private terrace, with sun loungers overlooking the beach. Avoid rooms overlooking the breakfast area... no privacy whatsoever. !!! Rooms overlooking the pool also have no privacy, however, they have been refurbished and look very well presented. Ideal if you like dipping in and out of the pool. The rooms overlooking the beach with a small private terrace have an excellent position. If you arrive on a Thursday night be aware that the walking street market is on and the taxi "cannot" reach the hotel.... you are dropped off at the top of the street and need to walk down and find the hotel... make sure you have mobile map or local calling available just in case you cannot find it.... The hotel does have an airport pick up for the same price as the fixed price airport taxi. In hindsight I should have booked the hotel pickup... Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and found it good value for money. Would happily return again.

We stayed at Moonhut for a week in the family bungalow, which was perfect; extremely clean, very well appointed and in a perfect beach view location on the property. The restaurant was amazing, from fresh baked goods (cookies, cakes, cinnamon rolls) through breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu was vast with both western and Thai options. The staff were very warm and welcoming throughout our stay. The location in central Maenam was perfect for walking on the beach and or road. Highly recommended!

1. Arrived and the WiFi didn’t even work and no attempt was made to even try to fix it Over two days. 2. The shower drain was blocked or something so the water would build up and as the bathroom wasn’t even separate from the bedroom ( no door or wall) you had to limit the shower to a few minutes each and to make matters worse the shower was little more than a lukewarm dribble. 3. The room had dirty marks on the walls etc and patches of paint. 4. No privacy unless the curtains are closed as the only way in is via the the shared balcony where the door double door is glass and there is no opaque wall. 5. Minimal hospitality, once you are checked in there is no way out unless you are willing to give up the fairly pricey cost as there is no refund. So heed my advice when I say do not stay here unless there is absolutely no other option.... I could go much further but it’s not worth my time or effort.

Location itself is not so great; located right on a busy road with little to see. Walk to the beach and tourist zone is quite close though I found it to be pretentious compared to Chaweng. Clean, huge room and I had the best sleep in the comfortable bed. I would suggest earplugs or a white noise machine to drown out sounds of traffic from the busy road outside. No breakfast or restaurant but service is good otherwise and hotel drove me to the airport at 6am.

We only paid 39 euro a night for a deluxe and found it good value for money. Yes the hotel has some run down spots, but most places are looking good, working and clean. Breakfast in was good, with fresh fruits, toast and fresh made egg varieties to pick. Very near to the quiet but pleasant Mae Nam with a few nice beach bars and restaurants and coffee houses. The staff was super friendly, and the toilet that was broken was repaired right away. The nice white houses have a pool, aircon and are surrounded by a well kept beautiful garden. Perfect hotel right in the middle between luxurious resort and cheap hotel!

We had a wonderful time at the moonrakers! We (my husband and I with our two kids, 6 and 9 years old) stayed here for 10 days in August 2019. From the beginning, everything was completely easy and relaxed: The communication with Alastair, the host, beforehand was great, he organised a taxi that waited for us, when we arrived with the ferry from Koh Tao and he was always reachable if we had questions etc. The 4 houses are located on a perfect beach, directly at the water and the atmosphere is completely relaxing. The kids could play in the water and we could just relax on the sunbeds and enjoy the sun and a good book :-). The restaurants around are really nice, we especially liked the Samui Kite Surfing Club which is just next door. The staff there is really friendly, the food and drinks are great and sitting in the bamboo chairs with my feet in the sand, enjoying a beer and a great Thai curry at sunset were the best holiday moments for me. The house is equipped with everything you need. For a rainy evening there is even a Netflix account available. Housekeeping as well as a change of towels and linen was done every 4 days. If you want to stay for a longer period it would probably be convenient to rent a car (several options for car rental in walking distance) to be able to get e.g. to a bigger supermarket. There are several small supermarkets in Maenam but for a "family shopping" one of the bigger supermarkets is probably better (and you can find everything you need for a family there :-)). However, if you don't want to prepare your breakfast at the house, the restaurants around also serve good breakfasts (including pancakes for the kids :-)). All in all, we completely enjoyed our stay at this lovely place on this beautiful beach!

I never leave reviews of places I stay but I'm pleased i found this place I wanted to show my appreciation I travel every week to koh samui for education and I try to find a hotel every week, well after about 7 hotels all in the 500baht to 700baht a night price range I can tell you this is by far the best. The lobby is huge and the staff are so nice they brought me a drink and fruits when i was checking in. There's car parking round the back of the hotel with a security guard. The restaurant was set out really nice and there was a full size pool table. The food was delicious too. and not that expensive 140baht for chicken and noodles. The equipment in the gym was clean and I had it all to myself they have a really good machine and a treadmill. the pool was clean and the fountains spraying into it were a great touch. In my roomI had flat screen tv huge bed and a bath ! no other hotel ive stayed in on koh samui had a bath. but most of all what made me write the review was in the room there was a kettle with tea and coffee, as an Englishman a nice cuppa tea and a comfy bed is really all I crave. I can't say enough about them all the staff are super friendly and speak great english. for once im looking forward to booking a hotel See you soon Amarin

Choeng Mon Beach
We stayed at a special promotion of Corona. The facility was luxurious and the staff were very friendly. The site is large, but you can also call the shuttle. When I called for a bandage, a staff member with a first aid kit rushed to me. The restaurant at night had a lot of mosquitoes and I was a little uncomfortable. It was a pity that I couldn't eat the famous Tom Yum Kung pizza, probably because the restaurant at noon had a small menu in Corona. There were times when it was difficult to come even if I called because the number of staff was not enough. The breakfast buffet was also delicious.

This hotel is better than expected! When I first arrived, I saw that the entrance and the reception hall were very small. I thought that I was in the wrong place. As a result, I continued to check in and found that there was no hole in the sky. The hotel was actually very big. The swimming pool at the entrance of the room is big enough, 75 meters long, and it is very cool! The shamrock pool by the sea is especially beautiful, with the surrounding lounge chairs, pillows, bath towels, blue sky and sea, a beautiful view is incomparable. The most beautiful time of the day is when the sun sets, soak in the sea or on the recliner, you can appreciate it. It can be said that there is the most beautiful sunset in Koh Samui. The hotel has a Sunday party on Sundays, very lively, nice music, passionate dancers, will take care of every guest and interact with you. The room is large, two washbasins, the bed is large, the bed quality is high, and the sleep is very comfortable. For self-driving friends, this hotel is definitely a place to really relax. Although there is no Chaweng around the hotel, it can even be said to be desolate. If you drive by yourself, it is not a problem. There are several small restaurants about 1 km away from the hotel. It is very clean, delicious and welcoming. It is also worth trying.

I couldn't bear my honeymoon 7 years ago, and finally made up for my regret this time. The hotel is a bit on the side, you have to go through a small alley, basically stay in the hotel and do not come out. Then the room was very large. Part of the sea view pool room we stayed in, room 12, we could not see the sea. The hotel has two infinity pools, and there is a cliff restaurant for taking photos, the view is very good, not lost to Bali's alaya. The New Year is set to almost 4,000 a night, the price is not high, and I stayed for two nights, I feel a little loss. Breakfast was good and could be à la carte. Special reminder, the door is locked at night, the ecology is too good, there are too many wild animals, and it ’s a bit scary to run over at night. Some fruits and a bag of potato chips are placed at the door. . . .

This must be for sure one of the Most Impressive lobby in the World!! The views onto the ocean are just Breathtaking! You feel like you are on a boat! What a great start as soon as you arrive to this place! The open - air lobby is situated on top of cliff and it has some gorgeous features and lovely furnishing! We have booked CLUB ROOM with ocean views (which was very close to the Lobby on a similar level) and as we walked in we were just awe!! The whole room is beautiful . Gorgeous bed with so many pillows, nice setting area, wardobes, high ceilings, fantastic free standing bath and rain shower. The room was HUGE!! And those views from the balcony AHHH...watching The sunset from here was absolutely Magical What a treat! As it was our wedding anniversary the staff arranged gorgeous Elephant towels decoration on the bed for us, left bottle of bubbly and delicious cake. Also some macaroons, Thai sweets, and tropical fruit as a Welcome gift. Wow! We are so thankful and grateful for that Amazing! We had a Access to a Club Lounge Which was situated in a lobby area -just next to the reception desk -so of course were able to enjoy the magnificent views while sipping a cocktail (or two..) I must say this is one of the best club lounges - the Afternoon tea is Incredible!!! Presented beautifully in a bird cage and plentiful too. Coctails and canapes during cocktail hour were fantastic too! The staff here were Always friendly and attentive. Well done to them. Definitely worth paying extra for room with Club Access - very impressed. We had daily dinner (as part of our Half Board package) and ate at both restaurants -Amber and Flames - both great! Every meal we had we couldn't fault it. And again lovely staff here too. Got HB package as we thought there is only 1 restaurant in the area..but it turns out now we saw 3 though quite isolated you can still try some options just outside of the resort if you want to keep costs down on food (just by walking down by the beach). The one thing that we loved particularly about this Resort was the fact they have 6 POOLS!!! What a genius idea! And some of them didn't seem to be used by other guests so it felt like we have a private pool to ourselves!! Amazing!! Loved each of them - red pool, 3 blue pools , orange pool and yellow one. The walkways between rooms and villas are full of lush , tropical plants, all well kept. There's a suspension bridge too - another genius idea. Beach is lovely...though public feels very secluded. The long pier is a great asset too! Tried spa - as received email prior to my arrival offering 50% discount on spa treatments - and that was great also. The spas at 5-star hotels in Thailand are generally expensive so if you can get a deal then that makes it more reasonable. We rented complimentary bikes and visited local village area. Really enjoyed watching Thai folks carrying on with their daily lifes. Overall this is a bea

Chaweng Beach
We stayed at the Chaweng Garden Beach Resort over NYE, and loved it, we would definitely go back again. The staff were great, and the resort was really lovely. It was was alot nicer than the photos look. It's very beachy so the whole resort has sandy lanes between all the cabins, and 2 pools. 1 pool is next to the restaurant and has massages next to it, and the other pool has a swim up bar. The restaurant was really good, and the breakfast was quite good with a mix of asian and western foods on offer. The resort backs directly onto the beach and the front of the resort is on the main street in Chaweng right by lots of good restaurants and shops. The beach was lovely and clean, with sun lounger chairs available. You can even eat dinner right on the beach, with the restaurant setting up tables on the sand, which was great There is a modern shopping centre about 5 minutes walk away which has a grocery store, cinema, and many other shops and restaurants. The airport is only a 10 min drive away as well. There is no gym at the resort but there is a very tiny gym available for a very small cost which you can find in the side street down the further driveway of the resort, it belongs to another building but you can go there for around 80 baht a day I think it was. The room we had was a cabin, and was large and had a small bar fridge, hairdryer and huge bathroom, and was very nicely decorated in a wooden, Thai style. We would definitely stay here again!

It’s was my first time in Thailand/Koi Samui and we chose Vana Bella to celebrate our anniversary and my partner's birthday. From the moment we booked this hotel via we have been very fortunate that the Vana Belle hotel team have looked after us and our stay has been very special and enjoyable. From birthday cake for my partner, to relaxing at the beach pool with the sound of the ocean lapping the shore, everything about this place is just perfect. The food is great, the service is excellent and the staff are exceptionally wonderful and polite. The check-in itself is a unique experience as you sit over the beautiful ocean with a hand cleaning ritual and traditional welcome drink. The rooms are amazing and well appointed with your own private pool and beautiful views. We both left this place with relaxed and surely would come back again. Thank you so much, Vana Belle and
