I chose this place because of the location, the history of the space, and of course the 5-star reviews. I was curious and couldn’t believe it was possible for a place to be truly perfect. But I was wrong! It IS perfect! First, the location is perfect - right in the historic center of Como. You wouldn’t know the hotel is there if you didn’t have the exact address, as it’s inside a courtyard building on a quiet side street. Once inside the courtyard, I still had to ask someone where the hotel was! Very discrete and private. The walkway to the front door of the hotel takes you along a private garden (the owners’) next to patio tables with lovely floral arrangements and candles. Once inside, you are immediately bathed in atmosphere via gentle music (always playing and helping melt away any lingering stress), flattering lighting and carefully curated design. The staff (Alba, Sasha and Brani) were... I can’t even find the words to describe their solicitous hospitality and authentic desire that your expectations be exceeded in every way. The owners, Max and Lidia, were unbelievably friendly and helpful. Plus they had the sweetest dog! The layout and design of every room was obviously thoughtfully considered, from the lobby (more like a living room) to the dining room. My favorite common room was the intimate bar nook, which feels like a sweet little speakeasy for up to four people. Our room was bright and spacious, luxuriously outfitted and impeccably clean. The bed was beyond comfortable and the water pressure from the rain shower was absolutely heavenly! On the one rainy day I had a wonderful massage in the pretty on-site treatment room. But by far my favorite thing about this hotel, that sets it leaps and bounds above anywhere else, is what comes from the kitchen! Every day begins with an amazing breakfast in the cozy dining room, which holds a huge community dining table that seats 12-14 people, each place having a full place setting and handwritten name tag with fresh, tiny flowers. One could also eat outside at the patio tables we passed on the way into the hotel, but it was a little too chilly for me. The food was laid out, buffet style, on gorgeous old wooden buffets and cabinets, consisting of homemade fresh juices, soft cheeses, yogurt, preserves and tortes, and supplemented by local salumi, harder cheeses, pastries and a variety of fresh fruits. Also available, upon request, was a sort of eggs Benedict with avocado that looked scrumptious, but I never had room for anything else (other than the cappuccino or two I was served) after partaking of the bounty of the buffet! After spending up to an hour at breakfast, we would usually go out for the day and enjoy all of the activities that Lake Como has to offer, before returning home to partake in the Italian tradition of the aperitivo, or pre-dinner drink, taken in the “living room” or bar nook. Many specialty cocktails, designed just for the hotel, are available as well as more pedestrian options

I spent two nights here and can't say enough about it! If you are looking for a small, clean, friendly, centrally located boutique hotel....this is it. The owner, Diego was so helpful and was available 24/7 for any possible needs. With only 12 rooms, you can't help but feel a great local down to earth vibe here. Breakfast included an abundant choice of croissants, fresh orange juice, delicious yogurt and a nice selection of coffees. Overall our stay at Storico was great. Understanding that accommodations in Europe are very different from North America, we found the room to be very spacious (queen bed plus a great bunk bed for the kids). The kitchenette, like the shower, was small but certainly adequate. The building has been lovingly renovated, with beautiful exposed beams, bricks, and wood. Very attractive. The access roads to the property are "interesting" if you're driving anything larger than a Fiat 500 (we had a 7-passenger van). Your GPS will find the property (the entrance is a non-descript doorway in an alley that will barely fit a vehicle), but be prepared for some slow white-knuckle navigating through the alleys/passageways to get there. A minor disappointment was the "free" parking which is actually just street parking that is free overnight. We could not find parking spots anywhere near the property, and ended up paying 20 Euros for a parking garage. The breakfast, however, more than made up for it. The breakfast room is beautifully appointed, the selection of cheeses/breads/fruits/pastries was excellent, and the owner was charming, informative, and interesting to talk with.

Situated very close to the lake and other tourist spot. It is a lively place with a bar area downstairs that hosts bot hostel guests and locals. It has a friendly and energetic vibe. Kitchen is stocked with food available to use. Room comes with breakfast, simple eggs and sausages, coffee, cereal and fruits. You also get a free welcome drink from the bar. Rooms are evenly spaced, bunk beds dont make a lot of noise which is really good. Bathrooms were much larger than normal however shower areas were a lot smaller. Towels and lockers were provided given a deposit. A 24h supermarket is located just a 3 minute walk away from the hostel. All in all, it was well worth the price and would stay again.

We booked this Villa knowing it was priced at a similar rate as the traditional big brand hotels like the Hilton, and did not regret for a minute our decision. Set 10-15 minute walk from the lake, slightly away from the centre affords a more peaceful stay. The staff are super friendly and helpful, rooms are well sized (we had a 2 room suite for just a few euros more than a standard double), and all served with a small but very good buffet breakfast. Car parking space is limited, but there is a small open car park 100m down the road, - all this in a residential district so quite safe. Restaurants are not on site - but within 15-20 minutes form the old town there are so many to choose from it is not any issue. A highly recommend place....

Good location in Como, around 15 minutes from the train station by foot and a stone's throw to the lake (no view though). We could have access to the room with an early check-in without even asking beforehand. Breakfast was good, with bread, some cheese, cold cuts, yogurts, fruits, eggs, juice cartons and coffee that you could order. All utensils are in plastic and the cups are in paper. The room was big enough for two people with a television and air conditioning. There was a safe but we did not find out how it worked. Everything was clean. The hotel was very quiet and just inside the nice city centre.

For starters, Alessia (owner) has upgraded every facet of this property with gorgeous fixtures and finishes. A bottle of sparkling wine from the Lombardy region was given free of charge along with home baked cookies! WHAT??? AMAZING! Our Terrance room (#4, top floor) was 2x the size as expected, had a stove/fridge/oven, soaking tub, dual head shower and a memory foam bed. Alice (staff) stayed until 20:30 to ensure seamless check in and show us around. She also provided a long list of recommendations for the city of Como from sites to restaurants to Gelateria's. They made us feel like family, and I dont say that lightly. Our only regret was not spending more nights there. Book this property now before it gets popular and rates rise! I arrived early in the morning (9am) to the hotel and checked in but the rooms were not ready. Ended up getting the room at 3pm as they wouldn't notify me if it was. All around the hotel was amazing. The rooftop pool had a jaw dropping view of the lake. Room the size of the room was extremely big compared to most Italian hotels but offered the bare minimum if ammeties (bring your own toothbrushes) . Definitely would come back to the Hilton at Como.

Perfect value for money: the suites are only 10 min walk straight from the cathedral, in a very quiet street. The place is nicely decorated and very clean. The owners are very welcoming and each morning there are fresh home-made cakes. The breakfast was very good - you get a selection of cakes, quiches, meats, cheeses, cereals, nuts, fruits, juices...etc. on a lovely terrace outside. There is also a swimming pool and a closed parking space if you arrive by car. We were staying in the newest appendix to the main building and found the room a bit unfinished: e.g. would be great to have a mirror that is not in the bathroom. Otherwise the bed was extremely comfortable, room was cleaned each day and the bathroom was very modern. ( I was not a big fan of the rusty tiles design in the bathroom though - makes you look twice to make sure it's not actual dirt/rust... but it's a question of taste I guess)

The perfect balance of price, scenery and service. First of all, the location is very good. If there is no self-driving, it is only a few hundred meters from the nearest terminal and bus station. There is a big supermarket within a few hundred meters, so it is convenient to buy everything. The hotel has a perfect view and is located by the lake. You can enjoy the panoramic view of Lake Como from the hotel lobby and the hotel garden. Most of the rooms should have a very good view. No other plan to enjoy the view in the hotel is very satisfying. The overall facilities of the hotel are also ok, 4 stars are no problem, and the bedding is very comfortable, which is considered an excellent level among 4 stars. The breakfast is rich and delicious, with the scenery of the restaurant, very enjoyable. Finally, the service is good, and the staff are very helpful.

We started our trip in Como by staying at the Borgo Antico. The front desk staff was very good, offering suggestions for dinner and where to explore the town. The rooms are plenty large and well appointed. The morning breakfast was very good. The restaurant next door is supposed to be excellent, but we couldn't get a reservation, so they set us up in their bistro across the street...it was very good. The walk to down town is about 10 minutes, but is a pleasant stroll. Welll worth checking in to.

It takes about 5 minutes from the train station to the hotel, but if you have large luggage, the road is difficult and the ups and downs are bad. It is recommended to consider taking a taxi. There are not many restaurants near the hotel, and there is a supermarket about 5 minutes away. Walk 5-10 minutes to the old town. There are many food markets over there, but there are not many tourist attractions. 15 minutes to the dock, you can take a boat trip to Lake Como. Breakfast is average, not many choices, especially hot food. The decoration of the rooms is old style. Although the economy room is flatter, the area is small and you can measure it yourself. The hotel has an elevator and parking spaces outside the door.

I came here for my 4 year wedding anniversary and i must say this was the best one ever and it will be hard to top. Fulvio and his gorgeous niece Noemi were so friendly and helpful. They totally treated us like family and were helpful in every way. They prepared a nice surprise for us when we arrived and Noemi went above and beyond and we look forward to coming back. The breakfast was amazing and we got a kick out of Bilba (male) and Paulina (female) cats. The kitties made the villa that much more entertaining and welcoming. We got massages and hung out in the salt halo room, which was also outstanding. This trip couldn't have gone more perfect. Anyone who books the Bellagio Suite will enjoy their time there, and be sure to check out the store they have on premises. Whoever marries Noemi will be a very lucky because she is an amazing lady. Thank you all so much and see you soon. (A nice present will be on it's way from Germany soon for them) 😀😀 Ciao! ❤ Milo Estrello & Heidi Pfeffer

This little gem was a wonderful choice when visiting Como. We thought that we had booked the front room with the panoramic view, but discovered that not to be so. But management were friendly and accommodating, the room was available, and we were placed in the 'room with a view' at a reduced additional price. Walking into the room one encounters a breathtaking panorama of lake Como, as the hotel is perched across the road on the shores of the lake from which all the barges and boats depart. The room was spacious and comfy, the coffee provided was great, and the whole experience was wonderful. Only -ve is the tiny toilet area in which my husband barely fitted, as he is a 2M tall and broad man. We would also have liked chairs on which to sit whilst drinking our morning coffee or evening sundowner. It was uncomfortable sitting on the bed, which was the only option for two people -there was only a lounger for one person, which was too low to look out of the window. However, we shall return.

Italy's second stop - Florence. For those who are worried about Italian law and order, I hope that you will find this comment helpful. We also looked at the reviews of many hotels, and when we went out, we were very worried about throwing things or being turned over. After screening with friends, this is a very old hotel. First of all, don't think that the hotel is an old hotel, worry about the facilities and equipment. In contrast, these historical hotels have their own unique charm. If you come to an Italian hotel, you will have to pay your own city tax. Ctrip prepaid is only paying the room rate. When you check out, remember to pay the city tax. The third is to praise the location of the hotel breakfast, believe me, you will be surprised when you go. This hotel! Great!

The information of this hotel Ctrip is not perfect, the suites are almost dark and narrow, and it is impossible to live, increasing the cost of changing rooms for 80 euros per day. The breakfast at the hotel, although simple, was very good. The environment is good and the service staff is very good. They will ask you what coffee you need and make it for you. The hotel is by the river, opposite the observation deck overlooking the city. Room 115, which is scheduled for more than 1,000 nights on Ctrip, is extremely small. Immediately decided to change rooms, adding 80 euros per day to 414. It should be the best room in the hotel. No one has lived in it for a long time. It was temporarily cleaned for me. With terrace, you can see the dome of the Church of the Cross and Lord Square and the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Flowers. Almost the same field of view as the pictures provided in the museum's commemorative album. The gap with room 115 completely heaven and hell. Later I lived another day. When leaving the hotel, almost € 1,000 was paid. The hotel had a fatal injury, too far from the train station. The hit was around 16 Euro. Whether you go to Pisa or Outlets, you have to go to the train station, and the traffic costs a lot of money. The weather was bad and almost all of them were hit later. The cost of living in this way is particularly high. Unless you are light and easy to come to Florence in the future, it is recommended to live near the train station. So as not to increase a lot of transportation costs.

The hotel location is very good, very close to the train station, walking distance to all the attractions of the central city. The hotel environment is very artistic and there are many art books in the lobby. However, there are no TV channels in English or Chinese. Breakfast was plentiful and staff were friendly. On the first night of check-in, I found that the curtains were broken. I called the front desk to repair the curtains, but the maintenance master didn't come for a long time. When I called the front desk, I kept apologizing to us, and soon the master brought the ladder. The curtains could only be hung up that night. The curtains were repaired when we returned the next day. Solve the problem in a timely manner.
