1.41km from Sandy Water ParkStayed here with my wife at the weekend and although it had what you would expect of a 4 star hotel and spa, the rooms didn't meet the standard you would expect of a 4 star hotel and without significant additional charges, you were not able to use the spa at all. The food at the Copperplate Bar and Grill was amazing, the best steak we have ever eaten and the waiter service was fantastic. The drinks at the bar were reasonably price, approx £7.25 for a raspberry gin & lemonade and a bottle of Corona. Our restaurant experience was however completely ruined by a very narrow minded couple sat behind us, loudly trying to guess if my wife was a Male or female loud enough for all to hear simply because she had short hair!! The best bit was, the woman that felt she had the right to comment on my wife's appearance, had shorter hair than my wife! Although we wasn't blown away with the services that were available for a 4 star hotel, we were happy to return in the future for a short break as the price was reasonable but if this is the clientele you wish to attract to your establishment, I'm afraid we'll stay away, as I'm sure will many other members of the LGBT community. Obviously we know that the hotel cannot be held responsible for how your customers behave but I dont know of anyone that would openly visit a hotel where members of one party can embarrass and belittle another based upon their appearance in a room full of other guests with staff turning a blind eye. This made what was supposed to be a relaxing overnight stay very sour.
