We booked the appartment for a short stop at florence. It was cheap so we weren't expecting much. First task was to find the place. Even with the exact adress it was hard to find because no sign/... was located nearby. The entrance is an old and ugly door, where you have to call the owner first so that he can give you the code for the lock. You go upstairs a small, steep and narrow stairway. There an old lady welcomes you who barely speaks english or another foreign language but we managed to communicate. Everything looked old and worn, but okay.... The big issue was our room which was absolutely disgusting. The smallest problem were the furniture which were old and definitly need to be replaced, but with that the shortcomings just started. The walls showed a lot und partly huge water damages, dead insects had left bloody stains on the wall, the floor between bath and bedroom was damaged, so the door couldn't be closed, over the shower was a hose from the a.c. for the condensed water which dropped continuously and also begun to go moldy, the shower in general was untidy and germinal and there was generally mould all over the place - in almost every corner. The ”highlight” was a approximatly 1,5 m² huge mould spot behind one of the cupboards. We described the problems to a customer support stuff of the portal where we booked. He contacted the owner but couldn't help us because the owner wasn't cooperative and just got angry. Of course we didn't get any compensation....

In our second stage in Toscana, we stayed in Florence. As we were on a vehicle, the best thing was to do it outside the limited traffic area. This B&B has a parking next to the “hostel” in a modern underground parking. The hotel was very comfortable and very comfortable. From the start we knew we were in good hands with Marco & Cristina. An emailed question the day beforehand was answered promptly and then on arrival Marco was outside to greet us. The room was delightful with a wonderfully painted ceiling, plus all you could wish for regarding information, maps, tram tickets and a reasonably priced (and stocked) mini bar. The bijou breakfast room too was beautifully decorated whereby conversations were struck up over a light, but tasty continental breakfast (don't expect cooked) both with fellow friendly guests and Marco himself. The bed was wonderfully comfy, rooms remade impeccably and the upstairs terrace a must 'retreat with a view' for an afternoon relax and read. This is far more than a usual B & B it is more similar to a boutique guest house. Thoroughly recommended.

The hotel is right next to the U.S. Embassy, so it is a safe area, a bit far from the historical center, 20-30 minutes walk, the lobby is very beautiful. The room is very spacious, equipped with a modern, discreet refrigerator, kettle, tea, coffee bags, a bidet in the bathroom, a bathtub, a beautiful mirror, lighting in the modern interior, very quiet air-conditioning, the dream of a large bed, The hotel soap tastes good and the electronic key is safe. The swimming pool on the top floor is not big, so you can enter the water a little bit and relax while enjoying the beautiful surroundings. The breakfast is rich, American or Continental, there are several huge coffee machines, there are many kinds of savory, croissants, bread or sweets. Abbiamo soggiornato due notti in questo b&b posizionato appena fuori la zona ztl. A poche centinaia di metri si trova la fermata dell'autobus per arrivare al centro storico. Sempre vicino c'è la pasticceria convenzionata dove poter far colazione. La stanza è spaziosa, pulita e funzionale. Nella zona comune si trova il bollitore e la macchinetta del caffè. Stefano, il titolare, ci ha accolto all'arrivo, seppur in ora tarda, e si è dimostrato disponibile per fornire informazioni e suggerimenti per il soggiorno. First off the good this hotel is extremely unique. I love the way it’s set up. For a dirty/romantic getaway, this place could be absolutely phenomenal, the twinkle lights in the room in the mirrors on the Wall Trust me this place could be fun! We arrived in March we stayed for two nights Unfortunately in March there is no AC in the hotel. The heater was stuck on in the bathroom and at night the temperature got to 33° We open the window for the brisk, nightmare and in came thousands of mosquitoes… definitely not the hotels fault but a screen over the window would’ve elevated our experience a great deal. Unfortunately my son is covered in mosquito bites from head to toe and I had a less severe reaction, but I also slept with a sheet over my head The hotel gracefully Sprayed our rooms the next day to get rid of the mosquitoes which worked But unfortunately on the last of us day, we slept with the windows open, and it was unbearably hot. The bar downstairs was well stocked and very expensive and the local economy you can buy a bottle of Jameson for €20 in unfortunately one double cost exactly the same. I would’ve happily drank whiskey there all night long and have a great time but it was just a little too expensive if you stay there bring your own alcohol you’ll need it for the temperatures in the room. To be honest, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful to Black walls of the hallways were unique. Very nice hotel, but like I said some screens on the rooms and some creative pricing at the bar would’ve made this a five star steak

Like a reviewer before me I almost hesitate to write this review as this may be the best kept secret in Florence. The suite was beautiful and appointed with everything you could need. But honestly - what more do you need than the lovely view of the Arno. What really makes this a special place is the staff. Not only were they there to make sure we had everything we needed, they were engaging and fun to talk to. Aperitivo hour was made special by Adamo - he made the most lovely cocktails and became a fast friend - not to mention the breathtaking view. Everyone that worked the desk was so kind and helpful and added to our memories. We can not wait to return!

Review of Hotel Firenze 2000 which also goes by Youth Hotel Firenze 2000. WARNING! Do not go to this “hotel”! I travel around the world and stay in hotels of various star ratings but I have never stayed in a hotel as bad as this one. Where shall I begin? It is a 2-star hotel, so my expectations were not high. I wanted clean and safe. To begin with, I was required to wire transfer from the bank the entire amount of the hotel stay, including the taxes. I reserved 7 rooms for 12 people. The cost was the same as the 4-star hotels, but I couldn’t get 7 rooms. Then, as I requested that 6 of the rooms have twin beds instead of one larger one, I was charged an extra $50 per night, per room. That was a total of $600 for 2 nights. (I was charged in Euros but it was similar to dollars.) When we arrived, we saw that all of the beds in all of the rooms were twin beds. Some were pushed together to make a larger bed. When I complained, I was told that some of the rooms were upgraded. The upgrade was 2 twin beds pushed together and a cot as the second bed. If you are required to stay at this hotel, do not pay extra for twin beds. It is all they have! I asked for the $600 back because they were all twin beds but was told no. By the way, they were all hard as a rock and looked like they were from the 1960s child’s bedroom and well worn. The tile floors looked stained with dirt. One of the rooms had a shower that had black mold around the bottom edges of the shower. The people in that room thought it was safer to just not shower. When I brought it to the attention of Aldo, who I believe is the manager, he said it is the silicone. I told him that silicone is not black and that it is mold. He claimed to not understand what I was saying. The mold was around the whole bottom perimeter of the shower. His response is that this is the best 2-star hotel. Nope! We proceeded to the next room where the toilet would not properly flush. He took the lid of the tank off and said it is broke and just take the tank lid off to flush. I told his that this was unacceptable but was told there was nothing he could do. Another incident occurred in the middle of the night. There was a room in the hotel with a crying child and a barking dog, apparently without an adult. I didn’t find out about this until the next day from the people in that hallway who were kept up for hours. I don’t know why the hotel staff didn’t contact the police and let this persist for hours but it ruined the next day for many people because they were exhausted. There is not an elevator so be aware that you will have to carry your luggage up the stairs. Some rooms have no windows. When asked twice to call taxis, each time it was a challenge. I don’t know if it was the system they use but I didn’t have any trouble in any other areas. I asked for two large taxis about 1 hour before we needed them but they didn’t call them until we needed to leave and then proceeded to tell me it was the taxi company’s fault. We had to

First off our triple room didn't look like the picture but worse was that it had a sewage smell. When I spoke to the front desk they said nothing could be done that day however they could change our room the following day before 2pm. When I went back the same individual gave me a hard time saying it was too late the rooms were cleaned etc. I persisted with what he told me the day before and then with agitation asked what was wrong with the room. I told him it was the sewage smell, he asked in Italian one of the staff if it was true and she confirmed in Italian that it was defiantly smelly. Needless to say I understand Italian but did not lead on. He stated there was a room available but much smaller. The female took us up to see the room and we agreed to change as room did not smell. I did not question him on the difference in price as he was so unapproachable. We learned latter that day that the air conditioning did not work, so we had to keep the window open through the entire time. Needless to say that it was very noisy as the room back into the alley way. I WOULD ALSO like to say the breakfast was poor selection however the gentleman that worked there was very efficient in keeping the cappuccinos going and cleaning up the tables to make room for all to sit. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS HOTEL AND WILL ADVISE EVERYONE I KNOW NOT TO GO THERE. WE SPENT SO MUCH MONEY FOR THIS PLACE, I FEEL WE WERE ROBBED.

This is a lovely, clean hotel with good facilities and location and an excellent breakfast. It has a very traditional decor, with a modern bathroom. Our room was pleasant enough but the window faced a wall and had huge shutters which we couldn't open. Hence, there was hardly any natural light in the room. I also found the staff a bit unfriendly, especially at the reception desk. There was no greeting if you walked past, and they did seem slightly condescending - not the usual friendliness you would expect on a reception desk. The staff at breakfast were much nicer. I liked this hotel, but a little friendliness and a smile go a long way and would have enhanced our stay.

The hotel was really good. It is NOT located in the center city. It took about 25 minutes in a wheelchair to get to the city. The setting was beautiful. The resturaunt food was about average and really expensive. After the first night eating dinner there, we decided to do something else. We really enjoyed our aperitivo was great. The only thing that would keep us from staying there would be if we wanted to stay in the center of excitement.

I have seen there are no recent reviews so will update you on our visit. First off this is NOT a hotel and they do not have any services at all. They don't advertise that so it is what is says a B&B. Our room way extremely small even for europe rooms. The bathroon was the size of a telephone booth. The drain did not work at all and within 2 minutes the pan was filled and overflowing into the bathroom. You can not use the shower bascially. The air conditioning works but sounds like there are coins bashing around in it and can't really be used at all. No way to sleep in the room with that noise.. its not just a little noise it rattling really loudly. The person that run the place is only there from 2-6pm. He was very nice and helpful. If you need anything after that you are on your own. He said call him and he can come back. But hardly feels right calling a guy to run over to bring extra towels. While the location is excellent..... without a fan or air conditioning the outside noise it unbearable. Loud parties and people have fun below until at least 4:00am. I think I was dosing here and there as I heard about 30 people signing happy birthday at 3:30am. I know we had the smallest room but had I been there a second night I would have checked out a day early. This again is not a hotel I would say its a dorm room with a view.

The hotel is an old palace-like house remodeled, each room is mural, very beautiful. The hotel has only 8 rooms and is a very quiet boutique hotel. The hotel's location is in the heart of Florence, and is far from the main attractions of the core area, close to the Pitti Palace and the Old Bridge, is a region where the locals live more, compared to the main attractions area has a quiet alarm. There are a lot of art-run shops run by locals downstairs, which is worth a visit. There are plenty of local restaurants to try out downstairs. I will stay here next time.

This four room small lodging was perfect for our Florence visit. It’s located on the third level of a large building. You have to walk up one level to the elevator but the owner carries our bags up for us. Our room was sparkling clean and attractive with a tv and instant coffee and tea and a refrigerator. The shower is small but workable. They don’t serve breakfast but our rate includes a voucher for a local restaurant for 7€ each per day of stay. The location is perfect for walking to different places. The host recommended some great restaurants, too. We loved it.

We came to Florence after taking a 7-day river cruise, a perfect way to end our Europe holiday. The Santa Maria Novella is a great hotel that's close to everything. Easy walking distance to main attractions, 10+ good restaurants around the block alone. The room was spacious, great bathroom. Room service was excellent! This is somewhat of a rarity nowadays and we were very impressed. Tip: if you can, get a room that faces the piazza. Ours was interior-facing and our view was plumbing. The concierge was very helpful at all hours and the breakfast buffet is truly the best. I could have made that my main meal of the day! The train station is a convenient walk, and the bus too. Take the #7 up to Fiesole for a day. One of the best views in all of Italy!

This is a great option for anyone looking to spend a few days in Florence on a budget. The hotel is centrally located and very close to Santa Maria Novella station, making it very accessible and great for day trips outside the city. Our room was clean and had basic amenities, but it was also a little cramped and not as spacious as it appeared on the listing. Also, the breakfast could have been better (some fruit and/or cereal would have been nice). Nice and pleasant family hotel close to everything. I have found this on the internet and booked directly at the hotel site. The price was completely acceptable and good price for the value. The hotel is 10-15 min walk to all the main tourist attractions. There are many good restaurants in the surrounding area. This is one of those very rare hotels where you get exactly what is promised on their website. The room was very clean and cleaned thoroughly every day. We could check-in a bit earlier (we came by bus as our flight was canceled, and were really tired after 14 hours traveling). The breakfast was delicious and wide variety, maybe some vegetables would be good to have more salty options for Europeans. I have missed only one thing, a socket in the bathroom, as I usually iron my hair and the socket connected to the hair dryer is for shavers only, so I could use the socket outside without mirror. It is a small thing, but I wanted to mention it. Despite of this I would be happy to come back, and recommend it, as it is a very nice hotel with polite and friendly stuff.

The location and facilities of this apartment are actually okay. Florence has been there many times. Compared with the hotels near the core area, it takes about 15 minutes to walk. The price of 4 people is still OK. But here we need to focus on complaining about Ctrip. This apartment belongs to a company that operates many homestay apartments in Florence. It uses contactless check-in. Now it is very common at home and abroad. However, using this check-in method requires complete communication in advance. Some need to register relevant information online in advance, and the homestay will inform the check-in guidelines. After the booking confirmation of Trip.com, I did not receive any email or telephone communication until the day of check-in. After contacting Trip.com customer service, they said that they could not contact the relevant agent. Let me leave the email and say that the agent will contact me. The contact number given on Trip.com is also problematic. After waiting for two hours without audio, I finally found the agency company belonging to this homestay online. After contacting by phone, I sent me an email for online registration and relevant check-in guidelines, which was done in 10 minutes. The staff of the homestay company said that they sent a lot of emails and there was no response. I don't comment on what went wrong. But since it is a contactless check-in method, Trip.com does not communicate in advance, no guidance information, and finally no news after looking for customer service. We had an excellent stay at the Villa Belvedere. The staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. I would particularly like to thank Babu Singh who seemed to be there at all times. Always smiling, always helpful and extremely polite. All the staff were excellent. The room was spacious with an outstanding view over the terrace, the pool and Florence in the distance. We could even see the dome of the Duomo. Everywhere was very clean and the room was serviced well every day. On small piece of advice rather than criticism is dining. The hotel breakfast is excellent although no English style breakfast is available you can have bacon and eggs. The selection of a more continental style breakfast is excellent. The hotel staff are most apologetic and insist that they do not run a restaurant but provide snacks. The menu however is comparable with many restaurants and the food excellent. It is sufficient for a light evening meal, is inexpensive and with a good selection of starters, mains and deserts available plus of course some excellent wines. We didn't take advantage of the snacks on offer during the day so I cannot comment. There is always a however....There are a few good restaurants within a mile. The 'Trattoria da Ruggero' is excellent. I would recommend booking through the hotel reception. It is also the nearest. The walk back from all of them except 'In Fabbrica' is up a very steep hill. We didn't go to the Fabbrica as it is not open every day so best check. There is a slight shortcut down some steep, awkward and unlit steps with no handrail. We climbed it several time except when it was very wet. A taxi back costs over 10 Euro. So unless you have a car or find walking difficult it could be expensive. It is also advisable to book as the restaurants get full seemingly every day. The Pizzeria Antica Porta near the roundabout at the bottom of the hill will do their utmost to fit you in, is very friendly, good value and the food is excellent. The bar is small but stocks pretty much any drink you are likely to want and is available most of the day. I would definitely stay there again but with prior knowledge of the dining limitations would plan the day differently. We ate a larger meal at lunchtime and in the hotel restaurant in the evening. Except one day when I think the chef was unexpectedly off. I didn't check with reception as instructed and was disappointed. Not the fault of the hotel staff.

WE totally enjoyed our stay at Il Salotto. Allessandro made reservations for our dinners, looked up train schedules for us and answered all our questions. He even allowed us to enjoy a late checkout. We spent 11 nights here, and enjoyed everyone of them. Our room was large and overlooked Via Roma. Housekeeping was exceptional and the breakfast was fantastic! We have stayed in Florence numerous times, but this is where we will be staying all our future visits.

We stayed here in September 2022 and found the B&B to be very charming. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the breakfast was very nice, and there was a rooftop terrace available to guests. The B&B is well-situated, we walked everywhere (from the train station with luggage, the Duomo, the museums, the Ponte Vecchio, etc) and nothing was further than 15-20 min away, and most sights were within a 5 minute walk. The only challenge were the stairs, as there is no lift to get up to the top floor where the B&B is located so if you have mobility issues, this may not be the place for you. Aside from that, we would highly recommend this wonderful gem.

Absolutely one of the best views of the city of Florence-day and night! An out of the way place that allows one to reach out/go to Florence while living out of the hustle/bustle of all the tourists. Take a walk down through the olive groves and then a cab back up the hill. A unique setting (think 13th and 15th century structures!) that is literally living in history yet is not pretentious/fancy. Breakfast on an open balcony overlooking the city is great way to start the day. All the people at T di B are super friendly and helpful!! (P.S. Roberto can direct you to some great pasta dishes at local restaurants in nearby Firenze,) Now, if you expect/need 5-star cradle to grave service, with bellhops to fulfill your every whim instantly, this is probably not the place for you. But if you are like my wife and I, and love something different/roads less traveled, this is the place for you! Would definitely stay there again!

We had such a lovely stay in this place. It is situated less than 10 minutes walk to S.M Novella train station and in the old city center, close to all the main attractions and sights. The place is located in an old building, the rooms were recently renovated, but in a classic way, extremely clean, with all the amenities included, very cosy and comfortable bed. Daniela is such a nice host, she provided very detailed all the steps for the self check-in as we arrived later, and we also received in the morning ‘a small kind of breakfast’, even though it was not included in our booking-just part of the house. :) Strongly recommend, will definitely book this place next time in Florence!

The lift doesn’t need a room card to get up to the room, and I read online that there’s someone tried to break into the room before. So when I checked in my room, I checked and there were really a lot of scratches on our door handles. can’t help to think that might be true. :(

I booked for this tramiche booking facility, on February 1 for the weekend from April 23 to 25. It was confirmed to me until yesterday when I received an email that my card is not valid and that the booking was cancelled. I call the structure and I am told that at the time of booking I had not added the card CVC and that they could not confirm it to me, which is strange because you always have to put all the card data to confirm a booking I doubt that the mistake was my, rather than a mistake was made only to get more than I would have paid when I booked in February, being a very demanding weekend. The e-mail response time was 24 hours but at the time of the booking a phone number was given to which a call could be made before cancelling the booking. The damage now 2 weeks after the departure is irreparable since I have already bought the train and museum tickets. Structure not recommended. Booking idem.
