We made an unexpected stop in Florence and decided on the Borghese Palace Art hotel as it seemed ideally located at an excellent price. The drive through the winding roads of Florence to get to the hotel was good fun where we drove to the private car park situated next to the hotel. The hotel reception area/lounge is quirky where we were met by a friendly receptionist. He informed us we had been upgraded which was a lovely surprise. We found the room spacious and very comfortable, with a large window looking over the cobbled streets. The bed was very comfortable, there was a stocked fridge which we later learned was complimentary (a nice touch) and the shower was very nice if not a bit awkward to work.Overall the room was lovely. We were a matter of minutes from the Centre of Florence so couldnt ask for more from a location perspective. Having lunched in the city, we returned to enjoy the hotel Spa which we had booked a time slot. We enquired into massages however at 90 euros each we opted against and proceeded on to the Spa. A gym area, relaxing loungers, sauna and jacussi met us with refreshing drinks laid out for us, it was a wonderful way to relax after shopping and lunch. On the evening we requested a Iron and hair dryer which were all brought up promptly and we left for the evening. Unfortunately we left before breakfast, however the area looked very modern and it was a shame we didnt get to try the breakfast included. Overall I couldnt recommend highly enough and now that we live in Ferrara we will certainly be back and recommend to friends and family.

It was great to be able to have a set apart wing with two rooms and two bathrooms which made it feel like a private, personal space. The rooms were spacious, airy and bright and reasonably well soundproofed against the noise from the street that comes from being in such a central location in a city where the streets are used as extensions of the bars and restaurants. The location was excellent though - ear plugs easily solved the problem of the noise for the light-sleeper in our group. Just a heads up, although we knew that we would be on the first floor and there is no elevator, we hadn't reckoned on the fact that the first floor in an old Venetian building means quite a few more steps that we are used to. However the stairs were wide and stone, so were able to cope with the dragging up and trundling down needed. The only real issue we had was when the taxi that was ordered did not arrive and with the reception not being open the whole day we had nobody to help sort it out for us. Our limited Italian and tight time frames meant this was a bit of a challenge but was thankfully resolved by a helpful concierge at another hotel down the road.

Loooovvvvveeeedddd Black 5!!! When we arrived, we were greeted by Gianluca, a friend of the owner covering while they took a family break. Gianluca was an absolute delight, and a new friend for sure. He was so incredibly cordial, thorough, engaging, and helpful. In fact, after our check-in, we had lunch together at his favorite local place. Wonderful. We got the Venezia room that faces out the front of the building, an old theater, and could not have been happier. The room was huge, comfortable, very nicely appointed, and had a lovely balcony to enjoy morning coffee on. We had just come from a sub par experience in Rome, so this was so welcoming. The bed was firm, but we like that, the AC unit worked very efficiently, and the updated door/windows blocked any outside noise perfectly. The street can be quite busy at certain times of day or certain nights, but that was no issue, at all. Only issue was one of the bedside table reading lamps did not work, and was never fixed or replaced. For this visit, not much of an issue, but should have been remedied. Also, you must walk up stairs to the hotel, so for anyone with heavy luggage, or with any restrictions, that could be an issue. For us, it was no problem. One surprise was that the included breakfast was not at the hotel, but rather a 10 minute easy walk to the Piazza della Signoria. There were only a few choices, not terribly exciting, but they worked for us, and you certainly cannot beat the view you have while eating. The location of Black 5 is also great, only a block from the amazing Piazza Santa Croce. Florence is not very big, so walking to anything or anywhere was also quite easy. Places to eat, drink, attractions, etc. all withing easy walking distance. We would absolutely stay at Black 5 again, and hope it is not too long before we get to again. Thank for a great stay.

What a great find! Aqa palace is a small b&b (just a few rooms) in a beautiful building in a quiet street, ideally located within 5 minutes walk to most places of interest in Florence (Duomo, Uffizi Galleries), with lots of restaurants and bars in the area. Our room (number 5) had a huge private terrace with a view, it was large, clean, comfortable, had everything we could have asked for. There is a shared kitchen area where you can get silverware and glasses if you need them, or make tea/coffee, etc. Rosi was the best host, helpful and dedicated, she made us feel special and was available everytime we needed her whilst also being discreet when we didn't. There is a valet parking service which worked quite well for us as we didn't need the car during our stay in Florence, so they took it away and brought it back when we left, convenient! The only thing we were disappointed about was breakfast - other reviews here say it's large and delicious, but this was probably before Covid as the breakfast we got was pretty small and basic, with no choice (it's a set plate, not a buffet). Maybe it was different before. Overall, an amazing experience, and we would definitely recommend staying there! We felt like we were living in Florence, in this fantastic place. Would do it again!

it is my third or fourth stay in this little B&B, centrally located at walking distance from both the railway station and the exhibition center, Fortezza da Basso. it is locatd very close the old San Lorenzo market. Large rooms, all renovated, nice and modern design, very comfortable bed, perfect cleaning. Room are equipped with a small fridge, air conditionign TV and a working Wi-Fi. The shower (no bathtub) may be dark in some rooms, but it is not a big problem, at least for me. Normal amenities in the bathroom. A basic but suffcient breakfast. Nice and friendly staff that can also help you in going around and/or booking trips and museums. Indeed very good value for money

Let's start by the obvious plus for this hotel and to be honest takes any negative away - it's location , I have I attached the view of the Duomo from our room window . The room it self was very big and had lots of storage space , the lockable private bathroom was located outside the room across the hall it was basic but not as bad that has been posted ( I'm 5'11 and 16 stone and managed fine in the shower cubicle ) . You are situated in a very noisy area but there are double windows that lock out all noise and although there are curtains on the window alcove they are just for decoration , if you want to keep out the light the windows have wooden shutters which give blackout conditions . All in all this is a budget hotel in a top area , if you want luxury in this area I would look elsewhere and have a healthy bank balance but this hotel did give you that traditional feel of Italy

This place is more like an "appartment" than a B&B. We stayed in room #4 which has two twin beds and is quite spacious. Upon arrival no one answered the door but when we called their number, someone came to help us within 5 minutes. My advice would be: make sure you have the phone number with you. I guess waiting, even if only for a few minutes, might not be nice when it's raining. We loved the wooden floor, the beautiful ceiling and decoration in the room (simple but in style with the old building) especially our chandelier :-). The bathroom is very modern but consists only of a toilet and shower. The wash basin is actually in the room itself, around a corner, which didn't bother us. There is a water cooker in the room but only tea, no (instant) coffee. So if you like to drink coffee, you have to bring your own. There are lots of TV channels but not a single English or other language one. The room is up a short flight of stairs and then a small elevator takes you further up. The location is just UNBELIEVABLE!!! A 5 minutes" walk from Palazzo Vecchio and 15 min to Ponte Vecchio. There is a taxi stand around the corner at Piazza della Repubblica. There are several good options for breakfast nearby. Would certainly recommend. Hard to beat the price and location!

Nice small boutique B&B. Check in was easy with everything explained and being personally shown around the hotel and to the room. The Superior room is exactly like the pictures, with a bathtub inside the room. Lots of space, large TV, and a bathroom with lots of mirrors! Lots of hot water, and the bath was great to use. Didn’t use it as a shower so can’t comment on the water pressure. Simple breakfast with pastries, cereal, spreads, yoghurt, juices, coffee, cold cuts etc served in the dining room. No staff onsite after 7pm, but there’s still little touches like mood lighting and music playing through the common areas.

I mean during the check in the entire time, the staff ignored me the entire time, I understand he knows I was with my friends, but I have my reservation separately, he should handle it by the order, and not just assigned me the smallest room just because I was a single person.I booked the exactly same type of room just like my friends, and their room is twice bigger than mine. And I can only eat breakfast in bed because there was no room to put it. That’s hilarious actually.

Location is good especially for those who likes walking, it will take you 15-20 minutes to reach the Duomo. Staff is very welcoming and friendly: they gave us a map and gave some recommendations about main sights and places to eat. Our room was very cozy, beautiful and clean. Also, the building itself gives you very special atmosphere. There were two bottles of water and some cookies for free in the room while check-in. Breakfast was very good (served in the cafe 5 minutes walking from the hotel): juice, coffee and baked goods (2 pieces to choose). This hotel is a very good choice for its price!

We spent 4 nights at this hotel last week. I always use trip advisor for recommendations and it’s always been on point and very helpful. This is the first time that I just don’t understand all these 5 star reviews. The hotel is on the 2nd floor of a residential building. When you walk into the building, there are stairs to get to the first floor. On the first floor there is a small elevator you can take to the hotel floor. Be prepared to carry your luggage up to the elevator. The room was big with high ceilings. The bathroom was a decent size as well. It seemed clean. The WiFi was a big problem as we couldn’t connect any devices due to their router having a problem. Luckily they had another room available and we were moved because that room had a stronger signal and because I needed the internet for work, I had to agree to pack our things and move. The second room was nicer. The design was better and it even had flowers which was a nice touch. They have a buffet breakfast with few choices and after the first few days, it wasn’t enjoyable because it was the same thing day after day. Bread, cereal, croissants, cheese, ham, Nutella, jam, fruits, juice. The dining area is nice. The biggest problem we had with the hotel was the smell. There was a smell as soon as you enter the hotel and it was even worse in the room and especially bathroom. In the bathroom was such a strong sewer smell. I was so disappointed. I’m not sure if the sewer issue is just in this hotel or others as well. The location was decent. It’s just a few minutes walk from the Santa Croce church and shops and restaurants. It’s about a 13 minute walk from the center where the Duomo is located. With all this being said, the hotel staff was very nice and helpful. They were willing to help with what’s needed.

There are three people in our family, and one double bed can be added to the double room. Hygiene can be good, the bathroom has ultraviolet lights, can be disinfected, air conditioning and cooling is good, sound insulation can also be. However, the hotel is rebuilt in a building with a small environment. The room next to the breakfast hall will be affected by the voice of the diners early in the morning; if you wake up early, it will be less affected. Relative to the price is low!

No elevator, no elevator, no elevator! The important thing is said three times! If you want to climb a narrow staircase to the upstairs with a huge suitcase, you must choose this hotel! The shower room is terrible. The shower has a red, yellow and blue light, and the entire bathroom is colored. Service is general, active awareness is not strong! Capri Moon is about a 10-15 min walk from the train station. Just follow google maps to get you to the location. It will be hard to find but it is worth it when you find the place. When you get to the building 17 look at the panel for Capri Moon and press the button. Walk into the double doors and wait until they buzz you in the right gate. Walk upstairs all the way to the top and the guesthouse is to your right. Now for the room itself, the beds are comfortable along with the pillows. The restroom is great as well. The pricing isnt bad for the location and if you share with a friend or two, it wont break your bank account.

We, a family of 5, stayed here for 2 nights. PROS: great location. It is right on the edge of everything, so the streets are quiet but it is still close to the Duomo and Accademie. Clean. Everything was quite clean, the floors, bathrooms, beds. Super nice. The owner and his staff are all super I d and accommodating. Free breakfast. It is pretty “meh.” My picky American kids wouldn’t eat most of it. The fruit always seemed overripe and there was other weirdness about it. But they do try. Spacious. The rooms are large and the bathrooms not super tiny. My three gripes about it: It is very dated. The lobby area is probably clean but it looks like your great-aunt’s living room, cluttered with doilies, lace tablecloths and old appliances, so it looks a little grubby. Everything could use a fresh coat of paint. It looks like an older Airbnb vs a 3 star hotel. Our fridge didn’t work. We were there in the middle of a heat wave and would have liked for our water to be cold. The housekeeping turned off the air conditioning while we were gone. It wasn’t unbearably hot or anything but as I mentioned, we were in the middle of a heat wave and after walking all day in 102 degree weather (with a baby in a baby carrier!), it would have been nice to come back to a nice cold room. Overall, I’m not sure I’d stay here again. There are certainly a lot pro’s but the price for a more updated, nicer hotel isn’t that much more. If you’re trying to save a buck, it’s fine. If you’d like to feel happy about coming back to your hotel room after a hot walk about town, I’d probably choose elsewhere.

Despite some issues, we liked the stay. Hosts are doing a great job. · The host was very friendly and explained us how to get to the historical center by public transport. We had room for two people with a queen-size (not sure) bed. The room had an extremely high ceiling and a chandelier, but the floor was covered with tile which would fall off in some places. There is a wardrobe, a TV and 3 sockets in the room (which is not enough, in my humble opinion). We had a shared bathroom for two rooms (L'Aranceto doesn't have other rooms, as I understood). The stuff tried their best to keep the bathrooms clean and fresh and succeeded in that, I must admit. Towels and shower gel are included but there was no hairdryer, so be aware. (It turned out you could ask the hosts to get it.) There is also a kitchen and garden in the hotel, which look quite cozy. You can buy products in the supermarket not far from the hotel. Location is good: there is a bus station just around the corner. And at that station there is the best confectionary ever – try pistachio croissants and you will return here just for them.

I chose this wonderfully special ‘home’ to stay in in the heart of Florence for my husband’s surprise 50 th & I couldn’t have chosen a more perfect place to stay for the occasion! The location for starters is spot on , close enough to walk to everywhere but slightly off the beaten track so it’s not too busy at night! Our hosts were absolutely amazing , nothing was too much trouble we were given recommendations for a restaurant for one night which was fantastic, help when we were planning our trip to Venice for the day & breakfast adjustments for me being a vegetarian ! The warmth extended to us whilst we were there was that of being with friends which most definitely added something to our stay, Alessio, Josie & the gorgeous Klajda went above & beyond anything I would’ve expected! The place itself Is like stepping back into 18 th century Florence but with a modern twist to make it truly comfortable & the attention to detail is phenomenal! One evening we came back to a bottle of fizz with two very generous slices of a delicious chocolate cake as a gesture for my husband’s special celebration- it’s the thoughtful touches that make all the difference & this place has those in abundance! Thankyou all for making out stay absolutely perfect! Emma & Bill

The hotel is in the old town and it is more convenient to walk for ten minutes from the Church of Santa Maria del Fiore. The breakfast is also good, the variety is enough, the service staff is very warm, and his kitchen is always open, you need hot water to burn it yourself, there is juice in the refrigerator, you can use it yourself.
