      I was in the ibis center Rio de Janeiro of the days 07/03 to 10/03/2022. The hotel's climate eh mto welcome ... I was mto well-served by all staff. All the needs I had were quickly resolved. The hotel has a restaurant with a la carte dishes and also the day's dishes come tbm with juice and table. mto good-maked and tasteful food. Internet in the room did not get well on my laptop only on the cell phone. The eh mto accessible and central location near the airport and the central Saara things, Tirandentes Square, candlehouse, museum of tomorrow ... I recommend and want to return again.

      The hotel is located in a good location, is well located in the centre near most tourist points. It is old, but everything meets the requirements. The room I stayed was clean, organised, everything was OK. The breakfast coffee and the very simple fruit were past with a few mosquitoes, but, and a standard coffee, I thought the cost benefits for anyone who wants to save, the very good staff, I would come back.

      We visited the hotel during the Carnaval period in 2020. The hotel is situated in the neighbourhood Lapa, in the middle of the street festivals and very close to the Sambodromo. The room is spacious and very clean. More importantly, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the neighbourhood. We loved our stay and recommend the hotel to anyone who wants to visit the heart of Rio, cidade maravilhosa!

      I actually had 2 comfortable nights at this hotel but their website just kept on charging my credit card over and over. Thankfully, it showed up on my phone, so I was able to inform the staff and show them the receipt at the time. A very helpful front receptionist said he would contact the finance department and that when I checked out early the next morning' it would all have been rectified. When I went to reception, no one could help and I was told to wait for the manager who would be on duty after my flight left..... So far, no response from this hotel and no money back.I've contacted my credit card provider and so I now have to battle to get my money back. My experience of checking in was in I’m afraid to say, truly awful. I arrived at 5am and the older gentleman checking me in was ignorant. Apparently, he was the ‘English speaker’ on duty and he completely ignored me when I asked a question. I received no information whatsoever about breakfast times, where facilities in the hotel were and he didn’t even have the good manners to look up at me when I checked in, he just opened his hand for my passport. He started huffing and getting obviously irritated when I asked if it were possible to arrange a later breakfast as I wouldn’t be getting to bed u TIL 6am, despite having to pay for the hotel for the night before. The guy actually just ignored me until I asked him directly and he didn’t even look up and said ‘no’ in a really annoyed manner. Great customer service, thanks! Thankfully, when I had need to speak to reception staff during the day, this was a much better experience. I spoke to a young woman and on another occasion a young uni man who were friendly and helpful, so much so, I decided to stay again on my return trip the following week. That was up until they kept charging my credit card, firstly through the own hotels website that said the transaction failed but charged the credit card and then again when duplicate monies had been charged by the hotel. Mistakes happen. It it how quickly and satisfactorily they are sorted that makes the difference between staying there again and avoiding it. Would I recommend staying here? Yes, breakfast is good and the hotel was clean and quiet on the 19th floor. It is dated and could do with updating but it is not bad value when they don’t empty your bank account! Just pay in cash if you’re staying there and avoid that nasty old man on reception who works at night.

      I know this hotel. I always stay there. I'm in excellent location, good size rooms and quiet.The staff are careful. It's in works but it doesn't catch the hosting. The bathroom deserves a refreshment , because the box is wetting the outside . Breakfast very good .

I would like to say that I’ve enjoyed my stay there .. good vibes and wonderful atmosphere and you can have tons of friends as you are a solo traveler .. for me I haven’t had any problem at all during my stay in that hostel as I stayed for 10 days which is enough to see any problems.. hostel is close to copacabana beach about 3 blocks .. value for money as I see the hostel place to sleep only not to spend your life inside your room while you are in vacation

      We were given the worst room in the hotel to start with. No window, small double bed… after we complained they moved us to a slightly better room but on the first floor with a window overlooking a car park... There were various issues throughout our stay, such as, the inconvenience of moving rooms, carrying our heavy luggage around. Also, we asked to add one extra day (a 5th day) to our booking. But on the 4th day the key card stopped working because it had not processed through their system that our stay had been extended so we could not get enter our room. So that was another trip downstairs to join the reception queue to try sort it… The breakfast was good, there was a selection of 4 natural fruit juices and the food never ran out and was always fresh. The swimming pool was small and they had a 1 hour slot booking system if you wanted to use it. The pool was crowded; there were people drinking beer in the pool and the water was a bit dirty and too warm. There weren’t enough sun loungers for everyone despite the booking system. They give you beach towels but make sure you know you will be charged if the towel is not returned to them. Checking out was a problem too. Our Uber was almost there to collect us and the hotel staff said they needed to check our room before we could leave, to see if we had consumed anything from the fridge in the room. I paid for the outstanding charges and I told them we hadn’t consumed anything and any issues please call, and I left. She gave me a look as I was leaving as if I was doing something wrong. Finally, I am still waiting for the reimbursement of the deposit I had to pay (500 reais) at check in - it’s now been 3 weeks. While we were there, I heard a couple at reception complaining about their car - the car park at the hotel was apparently full and the owner did not want his car to be parked elsewhere. Oh and lastly: I would say good evening to staff at the front door every time I walked past and NOT ONCE was I greeted in return.

      Actually Ibis Budget RJ Praia de Botafogo was closed due to covid19 and I was accommodated in Novotel RJ Praia de Botafogo just next door at no extra cost. Great stay from the start to the end. I even extended my stay. Next time I am in Rio I would book this hotel. Plus the area is very nice with lots of shops, bars, restaurants and easy access to Rio's points of interest.

      The staff was very helpful when I first arrived in Rio. I stayed in a room for a week in September and they did a very good job at performing preventative measures for COVID-19. I had an awesome view overlooking the beach and the restaurant made me lasagna whenever I asked. The front desk was more than informative and helped me get a SIM card for my phone, find several products I needed to start shooting for YouTube and gave me loads of advice for navigating the city. If not for any other reason this hotel is worth staying at just for the staff. There is normally someone at the front desk who speaks English well and you can get a feel for the city before moving on to your next destination.

The place is in the downtown area, and the surrounding area is a little dirty and there are concerns about security. There is a big supermarket nearby so you can shop there. Use Uber to move.       Ive stayed in the basic room but I didn't expect it to be so small. The bed was big, but the room smelled of cigarettes. The Cable TV didn't work, always said the signal was bad. The bathroom is small and I found used bath soap laying around. I complained and they promised to clean the room, only to find out that the cleaning service is working once a week during the pandemic. The breakfast was really basic (which I understand as we are in a coronavirus pandemic and things are simpler) but the coffee was just ok (drinkable). The service knocked on my door twice one night trying to deliver somebody else's meal. Overall if I had personally payed for the room I wouldn't stay. However, I didn't have an option because it was a critical business trip and it was the nearest hotel next to the client.

      I rounded up to 4 stars, but honestly, this is a 3.5 for me. American or non-Brazilian travelers, you may be shocked by this hotel due to its location. It is located in a somewhat rough part of Rio (Centro). Centro is a mixed bag, because it is actually kind of close to a lot of things that you'll probably want to do. However, there are a lot of homeless people, graffiti (welcome to Rio), and somewhat dangerous situations you can put yourself in. So... don't go walking around at night to get some air... seriously, just don't. Never have your phone out or cameras or anything like that in this area. - Value. This hotel is cheap... really cheap. What's good about the hotel: - The executive King suite was HUGE. Absolutely huge. - The room was clean... no issues there. - Modern appointments.. decent looking room, nice mirrors, decent bathroom, etc. - Air Conditioning worked - Black out curtains... which are an absolute must What fell short: - Check in staff late at night was somewhat unfriendly... didn't speak English very well, and seemed offended when I asked him if it was ok if we just spoke Portuguese. Normally, I would never do that, but he couldn't understand my responses in English. - This hotel has PAPER THIN walls. Bring ear plugs... seriously. You can hear everything, haha. - Shower's water temp was a little tricky to adjust.

      I went with my boyfriend to spend the year tour in Rio and hosted at the hotel, excellent location, next to the Metro and VLT Cineland, in the centre of Rio de Janeiro, the room I stayed had a sack with a pro-sugar-broad boot, bed comfortable, freezer and TV in the room, all simple but clean and organized.       While the front desk staff was overall friendly and the rooftop terrace cute, the wifi in the room (9th floor) and the lobby was terrible. It would come on then disappear constantly. The speed was worse than a snail crawling. The restaurant and bar next to the lobby features a live DJ every night who blasts loudly into 1 or 2am. The sound could be heard from the rooftop. Also, there are two small elevators and one was broken during the last two days of my three-day stay. Lastly, upon checking out in the early morning, one front desk agent told me to get free breakfast in the restaurant. But I was sure that my booking didn't include breakfast. If it did, then the agent checking me in did not inform me. One upside about this hotel is the room size as well as the location. But I'd not stay here again due to the slow wifi and loud music from the restaurant that they own.

      The hotel is situated on a main road just a stone's throw away from copacabana beach (approx 5 mins walk). Breakfast is quite basic but unlimited and you get what you pay for - just continental with a lot of cakes! Wifi signal was strong in some places and weaker in some others, I could access it in my friend's rooms and upstairs at breakfast but not in my own room, so that was a little annoying but overall didn't make too much difference to my stay. The staff were very friendly and very helpful, allowing me to use their printer to print off my flight ticket, and the rooms were all super clean. Overall a good hotel, would recommend!

      We just came in and saw the bathroom was very dirty, from the toilet, to the floor and the bath area. We ask for cleaning and I was informed that they would only do the next day, but on the second day they did not again and postponed, even new requests, they refused to change our room and offered no alternative. Only in the third attempt to request cleaning, when we were already annoyed by the lack of hygiene, added the negligence of the care, and qd insisted much, which then provided cleaning, at a very inadequate night time.       Actually the Ibis was closed and we were upgraded to Novotel next door. In the first room the air conditioning didn’t function. We were moved to another room so that was good. We used the room service and that was quite bad: pasteis were almost burned, cheese of poor quality and the pina colada tasted synthetic... Anyway, the (second) room was fine, customer service ok (Indidnt feel like complaining about the food in these difficult times) and the breakfast was also good. All hygiene measures were at the appropriate level.

      Very good location, between Copacabana Beach and Ipanema Beach, very close to the beach. There are also many places to eat around. Breakfast: Delicious with a variety of options. Pool/rooftop patio: Very spacious and nice place to have a drink in the evenings. Rooms: The rooms are a bit outdated, but comfortable. Spotted a cockroach on the curtains on my last night. Wifi: Terrible in room 401. Had to sit at the edge of the bed to get a slow signal, but got better as I stood by the entrance door to the room.

      I knew the hotel before the pandemic, but I felt some negative changes: - during the stay there was no room-- it seems to be charged if requested. - I arrived before check-in and had to pay R$5 for luggage. - I had no towel in the room and we had to ask for 4x until we came. 'Morning breakfast was simple but had more options in the past. Today only French bread, cheese, brunette, banana, coffee and milk are served. Every day they serve exactly the same thing.       Great experience!!! Very clean, the breakfast was also fabulous, great location and the shopping mall is a plus. The restaurants serve very good brazilian food. Everyone is very helpful, the staff and receptionists received us very well and promptly. Ricardo and Felipe gave us tips and suggestions to optimize our stay and visitation around Rio de Janeiro. My mother loved the Christmas decorations and designs of the hotel. They hold a very nice waiting/relax area, uber and transportation have easy access for drop/pick up. Overall a very good experience, I would definitely recommend and look forward to staying here again. We felt very safe, walking to pharmacy and supermarket close by. Thanks Vogue See you guys soon!!!!

      Staying at the Residence Inn by Marriott was one of the best decisions my wife and I made during our visit to Barra da Tijuca. From the moment we checked into reception, the staff went above and beyond to answer any questions we had and were always willing to go the extra mile to make us happy and feel like family:) They were so organized, thorough and pleasant to deal with, and we didn't have to worry about a single thing, as they made sure everything ran so smoothly. All the rooms are much larger than your average hotel, so value for money is excellent and they have a full kitchen as well. A few extra positives to point out; - security is tight with electronic entry doors to access the hotel, so we felt 100% safe - Fibre optic internet ( very important as we both work online ) - hotel is well insulated to the outside noise, so peaceful & quiet - plenty of food, shopping and public transportation options close by - the restaurant food and staff were spectacular! To summarize: We’re quick to find fault and fussy about the details, so we’re impressed that the overall experience not only met our expectations, but transcended them, and our stay was far better than we even imagined:) A special thanks to Georges Wuillaume, the facilities manager, for making sure our stay was absolutely perfect!
