The waiter's English level is not ordinary but poor. The shower sprayed everywhere, and the bathtub was broken. Other things are ok, the best place is to have cool clothes.

Departing from Luang Prabang at 8:30 by CMB, it took almost 10 hours to reach the Vientiane North Bus Station. Everyone took a tutu to the hotel for 20,000. The hotel is nice, clean, and cheap, including Western breakfast, bread, fried eggs, juice, coffee, two bottles of mineral water and two bags of instant coffee in the room. The location is very good, 500 meters from the Presidential Palace, one kilometer from the Arc de Triomphe and one kilometer from the Mekong Night Market. One kilometer east of the hotel is the morning market passenger station and bus terminal. Take the 14th road to the Lao Thai Friendship Bridge, Lao Thai Port, one-way ticket 8,000 kip, and it will take you more than ten minutes to reach it in 40 minutes. Opposite the hotel there is a convenience store similar to 7--11, very good, Laos beer 10,000 bottles. Most of the roads are four-wheel drive pickups, with many cars and fewer people, fewer traffic lights, orderly motor vehicles, and almost no honking.

I was here for only one night as I had to do a visa run. The date was 9/1/2019. First when I arrived at the hotel the power was out. The hotel did not have a back up generator. Once the power was back on. I was allowed to Check in. That was about 3 pm. Upon checking in I was informed that the credit card machine was not working and that I had to pay cash. I informed the front desk clerk that I only had Thai Baht . I was informed that he did not know the exchange rate so he might not be able to exchange for me. I went online and was able to share the rate with him, which allowed him to make the conversion and give me change in KIP. I checked the room and was unpleasantly surprised. There was a hole in the left hand corner of the bedroom that looked like a mouse hole. I wondered all thur the night if a mouse would drop down that hole. The furniture was old and had puncture hole in them. The bathroom which had a tub, however no stopper. There was black Mold in the ceiling and no toilet paper holder. The next morning I went proceeded to go to breakfast and was informed that the free breakfast was on the 5th floor. I checked the elevator there is no 5th floor. Oh! I had to take the elevator to the 4th floor and walk up to the fifth floor. I am wondering how do they accommodate the handicapped. The buffet breakfast was cold. The fruit dishes on the buffet included ants on the plates. This is a step too far. This accommodation was not worth the $48.00 US. Please stay away from this dated facility.

The hotel is located in a quiet area about a 10-15min walk to the river front where most of the restaurants and bars and night market are located. As the hotel was not busy, I requested the manager for an upgrade from the double deluxe room and he was very kind to oblige and we got the so called junior suite. This room is a large L shaped room with a King size bed and comfy mattress. It came with two sofas and a table. It also came with a kettle, safe, bath robes, slippers, mini fridge and 2 complementary bottles of water. The bathroom was clean, large with a rain head shower and good water pressure. What was lacking was a good body soap/ wash. Wifi was patchy in the room but good in other areas of the hotel. Breakfast was very good with Western and Asian dishes and excellent cappuccino. The annoying thing was the lighting in the room. One switch controls all the lights and no bed side lamps. Other guests have complained about this too. However, the Manager did not seem to understand the difference between a table study lamp and a bedside lamp! I hope they will work on this. The AC cooled well but was very noisy. Overall, an excellent stay, friendly and helpful staff. Strongly recommend the junior suite for added comfort.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in a balcony room on the 3rd floor. The guest house is a good location right in the heart of Vientiane. The room was spacious, clean and had good lighting. The staff there are very friendly always greeting my wife and I with a smile. The bed was wide but a little on the hard side for me. My only complaint is that the guest house does not have an elevator, so dragging your luggage up 3 flights of stairs might turn into a physical fitness test. Also rooms are not soundproof so if you are awaken easily by noises don't choose a room with balcony instead choose a room in the interior of the building.

We stayed here for 5 nights towards the end of a 3 month trip to various countries in SE Asia. It’s a lovely hotel and the room we had was very spacious, nice sitting area with a sofa and extremely clean. The hotel is ideally situated for restaurants and some of the main Wats etc. The staff were very helpful, efficient and friendly. Breakfast, served in the hotel’s cafe downstairs was great with about 7 various sets to choose from, excellent coffee and lovely bread. We also ate lunch at the cafe twice and the food was really good - fruit shakes are delicious - and extremely reasonably priced. 3 days in Vientiane would have sufficed but having such a lovely hotel helped. Highly recommend. Be aware there’s no lift and quite a few flights of stairs to get to bedrooms. It didn’t bother us but may be a challenge for anyone with mobility issues.

Overall good, recommended. advantage: 1. The room is large. Our room is more than 60 square meters. The room type is similar to the Chinese apartment. The style is Japanese-style simplicity. 2. Buffet breakfast is ok 3. Although the pool and gym are useless, they are very new and clean The spa on the 2nd and 2nd floors was done for two consecutive nights at reasonable prices 5. There is a Chinese manager at the front desk, especially Manager Wang, who is very attentive Disadvantages: About 4 kilometers from the city center, local transportation is inconvenient, increasing the cost of taxi

We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed the hotel. As others have commented it is a little isolated but, to me, the centre of the city is not too intersting or easy for walking so I'm unclear that a closer hotel would have been an advantage. The shower was incredibly sensitive when trying to adjust the temperature but otherwise the room is very good. We ate in the restaurant (not just for breakfast) and it is fine. The pool is small but refreshing. Some of the staff speak limited English but that is not normal in Laos; they are all friendly. I would like to single out Bai Veu for particular praise: she is very helpful and friendly and speaks Spanish in addition to English.

This review is for the staff. I’ve been there before when I was in Laos. I wanted to get more info bout quarantine. Googling some direct hotel websites didn’t have much info. But Best Western Vientiane did so I reached out and Kris answered me right away. Price online is for 2 people in double room so if splitting cost seems reasonable as it’s a chain I’m familiar with compared to some Covid-19 Quarantine hotels in Vientiane. I’m usually worried about issues arising but with a chain there is a head of franchise to talk to. Kris said you wouldn’t be able to leave the room but includes meals and a 24 hour reception and yoga mat and. Could order booze and outside food as the front desk would drop it to room. Downside is that you can’t book through Agoda for the quarantine deal but have to book directly and can pay by credit card.

The hotel is so new that the TukTuk drivers don't even know it. Located a little outside the center, but very quiet and right on the promenade. It's easy to walk to the night market, there are some good restaurants nearby, although sometimes a bit more expensive due to the location on the banks. Our room was very small, but functional. Unfortunately, it was also very noisy because it was located directly at the reception. There was a view of a wall, in front of the window were cleaning and cleaning equipment. not so great ... Although the hotel is new, some of the furnishings were broken, a board from the bedside table was broken off. The cleanliness was rather mediocre, we found a lot of hair from the previous guest (or the previous woman). The breakfast could be better, the selection is quite small. The staff is nice and helpful. Helped us with our planning. The pool is no bigger than a bathtub. Water and "juice" are available during the day. The opening times of the restaurant could be extended. For the price you pay, the hotel - even with some drawbacks - is absolutely fine.

To start with I’ve been here before, 3 years ago. So is there any difference. Yes!! They have removed the old carpet from the landings. They closed the Bar they had & the restaurant is not open in the evenings. I can understand why they closed them as everyone goes out in the evenings around town. No need for them when you don’t have any customers. The Hotel has two swimming pools. This was fun for the kids. The rooms are large, clean & comfortable. There is tea making items plus a 32” LCD TV . There is also a mini Bar + free WiFi. The only downside is that there is no Hot Water to the sink in the bathroom. Shower yes! (A strange way to have things.) When I went to tell them about it they said that’s the way it is. It makes shaving a little problem. Staff where very good & helpful. So would I come back again? Maybe is the answer. I like the place but it’s a good walk into town. And I found a couple of very good Bars. So a hotel a little nearer sounds good to me. But you never know I may be back next year. Don’t let me put you off trying the place as it is very good. Make your own mind up.

The staff at this hotel are super enthusiastic and super helpful! If there is any problem, they will help me solve it! I booked six nights through Ctrip, but then I planned to stay in the hotel for two nights! Called Ctrip to help me cancel the next four days but Ctrip failed to cancel. I went to the hotel and told the front desk that I wanted to drink for two days and stayed at the hotel for 6 nights. Then they tried to help me contact Ctrip and their hotel for two days Manager, and later they successfully cancelled the last four nights, and the money was returned to me! The location of this hotel is far from many temples! The hotel is not in the city center! The hotel's breakfast is better, the hotel is a 5 star hotel! It is also relatively clean!

Mixed feelings about this hotel. On the positive side, the location was great for seeing the major sites within Vientiane either on foot or by tuk tuk, there were many good restaurants, bars, convenience stores and a great massage parlor within walking distance. As for the hotel itself, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and contained all the basic amenities one would expect, and the pool was a great place to relax and chill out after a day of site seeing. There also were plenty of available lounge chairs at the pool and also shaded areas with chairs and tables. As for our room, we stayed in one of their deluxe double balcony rooms. Although the room itself was great it did come with a few quirks. For instance, the bathroom door would not completely shut creating a lack of privacy and the main entry way door was razor thin, so you got a lot of noise from other guests walking to and from their rooms. Also, the part of the hotel where the deluxe double balcony rooms are located is lacking in character. The newer part of the hotel where the pool is located has a lot more ambiance but during the day you probably will encounter a bit of noise from people using the pool. Lastly, the breakfast which was included with our room rate was terrible. Thankfully, after eating our first breakfast at the hotel we discovered a great breakfast place within walking distance from the hotel called Common Ground where we ended up eating the rest of our morning meals at. As good, reasonably priced accommodations are difficult to find in Vientiane, I probably will stay at the Vientiane Garden Villa Hotel on my next trip to Vientiane but only after exploring other options.

The hotel is very good overall. On the mountainside, the rooms are arranged along the hillside, the scenery is very good, and the whole city can be seen. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The hotel is far away from the city center, but there is a free shuttle bus, which is basically an hour away, and it is very convenient! The only drawback is that the pressure of the bathroom bath water fluctuates too much this time. It will be hot for a while and cold, and it will fluctuate every few seconds. I do n’t know if there is a problem with the equipment. I hope to improve it.

We have always wanted to try this hotel because of is great location near the river and good reviews. The place is really nice! The reception welcomes you warmly and were helpful throughout our stay. The rooms are quite charming with their wood finishes and they are large, including the bathroom. The bed was comfortable, air con and Wifi were good, there are a decent selection of English TV channels, plenty of storage and a safe. Our balcony was a nice place to sit in the afternoon with is view over Wat Chan and to the river beyond. The breakfast buffet was good, typical of most mid range hotels. The area is a bit noisy if you are a light sleeper. We certainly recommend this hotel.

It is said to be the best hotel in Vientiane. The hotel grade and room facilities are equivalent to the level of three or four-star hotels in the big county towns in China, matching the economic situation of Laos. The hotel facilities are a bit old, and the exposed wires in the room are damaged and visible. Breakfast is still okay, if you expect the level of domestic five-star hotels is not comparable, the front desk can only say a small amount of Chinese, communication is a little hard, taxi is very inconvenient to let the hotel call high-priced taxis, basically no Cruise taxis can be played, and there are often toot tricycles at the entrance of the hotel. There are many temples within 1 km of the surrounding area, and it is convenient to walk.

Been coming here for the last ten years. Nothing has changed in terms of hospitality and warmth of the staff. Through the years, the hotel has adjusted to demands of the times. It has made renovations and upgraded the rooms. Check in has always been a breeze since for company reservations, guests had to sign in and pay at checkout unlike most of the hotels were deposits and advanced are asked of the guests which are not fully appreciated especially when you are arriving night time after a day of travelling. The staff always made me feel welcome. Shout out to Ms. Mit Vongnalath of the reception who always has this ready smile. The food at breakfast offers plenty of choices. There are the usual eggs, bacon, and bread and some hot soup and congee, fruits and yogurt. The hotel is situated in the heart of Vientiane, close to various government offices. If you feel tired of the hotel food, there are plenty of restaurants you can walk over to any time of the day, even night. It also offers complimentary shuttle service from the airport to the hotel and back. The rooms are spacious and appropriately cooled. WIFI is strong. Most of the staff speak English. For me, there is no other hotel in Vientiane as Lao Plaza.

I have never given Ctrip a bad review. This time I had to pay more than 7 o'clock to the hotel. The money was prepaid online, but after arriving at the hotel, the hotel reception will not add another 10 dollars. Look at the order at the front desk, no, don't let the money add, contact Ctrip, Ctrip actually said that the 10 dollars is the city fee. I said that all the reservations were for the house price plus tax. I have prepaid it. If there is a city fee, why not make a reservation when booking? Because in foreign countries, let Ctrip contact the hotel front desk, Ctrip said that the hotel front desk phone can not get through, I have been at the hotel front desk, the hotel front desk phone has not sounded. Due to the fixed triple room, the last three of us waited for more than an hour at the hotel reception. Ctrip told us that you have been waiting at the front desk of the hotel for so long. After he asked the leader, he paid the hotel 10 dollars to the hotel, and Ctrip returned it to my cash wallet. We have no way to do it only as Ctrip said, although the money has been returned, but after all, it has been delayed for more than an hour, my heart! Give Ctrip an opinion. If you need to collect the city fee, please write clearly in the hotel room fee in advance, there will not be so much trouble, although the 10 dollars are not many, but it is very affecting the mood.

Stayed here in late November of 2019. Came in on a late flight in Vientiane, booked hotel room through Agoda. Walked to hotel, which is set back a ways from main road. I didn't feel unsafe but, of course, was hyper vigilante. Reservation was received and accepted by proprietor. Was given room right by the entrance. Large bed, though a little hard for someone from the US. Fridge in room. Clean and comfortable. WiFi worked great. No breakfast. In the mornings, you can hear workers talking and walking back and forth as they turn over the rooms for the day. Shower took a tad bit to warm up. My biggest critique of this hotel has to be the glass ceramic tiles used in the bathrooms. When wet, it is extremely slippery, which shouldn't pose a threat if you brought your shower shoes, but I didn't. Furthermore, the danger in the bathroom is exacerbated by the sharp corners of the sink--I mean they are sharp corners! I made certain every time my spouse entered the bathroom to mind the wetness and sharp corners of the sink. Also, the toilet is a bit too close to the wall for my comfort.

I concur with a previous review with regards to the sadly poor wifi strength in the room. Kept on going OFf and ON and 1 or 2 bars only when ON all the times. Informed reception once (technician went home, we will check tomorrow) but nothing was done. Mentioned the issue a second time later, still nothing... Had to go in the lobby to get a good connection, bitten by mosquitoes all around. In addition to that, no hot water in the shower, just barely warm. Mentioned that too but despite "checking", not repaired. At that point you would expect them to offer to move to a room with better wifi connection and hot water but it did not crossed their mind despite the hotel being clearly not full. I was booked for three night but checkout after the second one. (My Thai visa came back earlier than expected). I asked them to access another room for a hot shower before checking out which they allow. Breakfast is mainly for Asian/Korean guests. Sad morning experience with no one thinking of offering an omellette or fried eggs the lone non asian in-house guest they had. Staff was however super friendly and kind especially all the Filipinas at the reception.

Having spent 6 days walking the sites of Loas, I determined that I would stay somewhere affordable with a pool, and this place seemed to fit the bill. And indeed it has a good new pool, and is easy on the wallet. When I arrived there, after a long journey and no breakfast I was tired, hungry and thirsty. I asked if they served food. No. Beer? No. Soft drink? No. Snacks, no. All of which was very frustrating as the owners family were all sitting down to lunch in the hotel reception, and as I passed the kitchen, there was still cooking food !!.They spoke very little English, so I was pointed down the road. Found a place not too far away that served crisps and beer so brought some back to eat by the pool. Then I discovered that the only options to sit on are hard stone or metal stools or seats. No loungers to lie back and relax on. Criminal mistake ! It's a good 25 minute walk into town, down dusty, hot side streets, but I knew the distance from the booking page, and it's reflected in the price. The wifi is not great, but that might be a limitation of the national infrastructure rather than the hotel. The rooms are tired, outdated and basic, but again, that's reflected in the price. The A/c worked. The shower worked and the bed was firm and comfortable. I would have given the place 5 stars for value, but unfortunately have to downgrade that because of the lack of facilities, and the lack of business acumen. My recommendation to the hotel: Put loungers by the pool. Otherwise you're wasting a great asset. Stock a fridge with drinks for your guests. Enhance your service and make a profit! Stock some simple, non perishable snacks, like pot noodle or crisps (chips) , tea, coffee etc. Again, improve your service offering and make a profit ! Move the tall plants which obstruct the pool view from the ground floor cabins and seating area. Move them to cover the ugly, bare wall which divides the property from the next door building. Empty more often, and place more discretely, the ugly waste bins which sit right beside the pool side stone seats. Print a little information sheet for your guests. You're in the middle of nowhere, so guests would benefit from a local map of food shops, eateries, tuk-tuk services etc. make the "hotel" reception area look more like an hotel, rather than a living space for your family to congregate, eat, and sleep in.

I was disappointed with this property. I booked a 2-bedroom unit, and my biggest complaint was the many mosquitoes in the room when we checked-in and although we tried smashing them all between our clapping hands, more continued showing up during our 4-day stay even though we kept the doors and windows closed. We were also greeted with a dirty rag on the bathroom counter that a housekeeper had left and a half-full water bottle on the balcony with a cigarette bud floating in it. The washing machine in the room was disgusting… black mold growing all over the rubber door gasket, and it smelled terrible. The room's safety box stopped working, so a hotel engineer unbolted the old box and replaced it with another one. The next day, the replacement safety box would not open, and the engineer could not find the physical key that is used to open the box when the electronic mechanism stops working, so they had to physically destroy the box door with a hammer, chisel, and hacksaw blade to retrieve my valuables. Lastly, the beds were too hard and the wi-fi was unreliable and very slow. There was no effort by hotel management to apologize for these problems and I will not be returning.

It’s quite an acceptable hotel. About 20 minute drive from the international airport. Pros: - Price is reasonable - 10 minutes walk to the embassy (great for visa runs) - I had to photocopy some documents and they did it for me at the lobby for free - Convenient stores and restaurants were accessible - Staff were good. They werent rude and when I tried to pay for an extra half day they tried their best to stay patient with me even though I was struggling to communicate with them due to currency exchange rates & language barriers - The rooms were decent. It seemed old but still good - Breakfast buffet was good. Had a selection of asian foods, Korean side dishes, tea, coffee, cereal, etc. Cons: - Housekeeping just comes in the room without even knocking.. which is invasion of privacy (and was really annoying). We tried to tell them to come back some other time but they didn’t get it. Neither was there any signage to put in our front door to tell housekeeping that we want to makeup our room or “do not disturb.” - Toilet wasn’t entirely dry when I first checked in. It was wet like someone just finished cleaning - Upon entering the room it was pretty clear they just didn’t bother to clean everything. You could see some dirt in the minibar and some webs on top walls. I do have some suggestion to improve the service. At least put the list of mini bar prices. I didn’t know until check-out. I didn’t even know what number to call the room service until I randomly dialed “0” and magically went to the reception. Btw room service number is 202 and either no one picks up or when they do, they don’t understand english. Not recommended for leisure. Just a decent hotel for visa runs.

Vientiane City Center
Within walking distance of Patuxay. A very clean hotel with super nice decor and a friendly staff to assist you. Breakfast was included, not much to write home about but it filled the void. The 5th floor had a wonderful view and a full length private balcony. I was there three nights and was very comfortable. I see many was there to go to the Thai embassy to update their visa. The Thai embassy around the corner from this hotel is the wrong one. The Thai consulate is about a 20 minute walk from this hotel. I would stay here again, it was nice. Also, they do have a shuttle to take you back to the airport.

Mekong Riverside
I had mixed reservations about this place due to the reviews but many other hostels in Vientiane had reviews where guests had had things stolen whereas this one did not. However, I had only minor problems with the place and, as I didn’t really leave due to arriving late in the day on a bus from Vang Vieng, it wasn’t too bad. The few problems I had were: - the metal lockers under the beds. Even when padlocking them shut, the doors can be pulled open just enough to slip an arm in. Plus, if someone were to pull the bunk bed away from the wall, they could access the locker through the back as it wasn’t covered. It still gets five stars as even though the lockers were inadequate it didn’t affect me. Had I paid more money, I would have expected better.
