Hotels Near Scandolaro In Province Of Perugia Review
Excellent stay near Perugia and well located to visit the north part of Umbria and south east part of Tuscany. Quiet area, nice training room and a cycling/running path quite close by to run. Good choice.
What a lovely hotel the Perusia in Perugia is. It is situated just out of the old city, about 20mins walk away, but is on several bus routes connecting with the Station, the centre of town and picturesque outlying villages. The hotel is spotlessly clean with very well maintained rooms and public areas. It offers a excellent buffet style breakfast with plenty of choice ranging from cooked meat, cereals, hot food, cakes, fruit, yogurt etc. I stayed at the hotel off-season in February when it was fairly quiet and enjoyed the tranquility and serenity as well as the wonderful views across the valley to Assisi and Spello. There is a restaurant Canto Sesto just opposite the front door which offers a good range of italian food to suit most tastes. I found the staff at the hotel friendly with good English and lots of helpful suggestions about where to go and what to do. I used public transport to get around and found good train links to Arrezo, Assisi, Spello, Spoleto and Siena. I used the train from Rome Termini to reach the hotel and also noticed trains running to Florence and on from there to Milan. This area is a pleasure to visit in February without the vast numbers of tourists which come in the Spring and Summer and I was lucky to have a week of wall to wall sunshine with temperatures around 12-14 C. in the daytime. All in all this was a great holiday and I will certainly return to this hotel again.
I picked the hotel because of its location on Piazza Italia and it was absolutely perfect. We were right in the old city with all the local bus stops right outside and an easy walk from the bus station. Our hotel room was stunning, with antique furniture, beautifully decorated and absolutely enormous. Everything was clean and tidy, and the staff were all so friendly and lovely. Breakfast included a huge variety of different dishes. My mum is wheat-intolerant, but they had a whole selection of gluten-free bread and cakes for her, so she had as many options as I did. We had dinner in La Rosetta one evening and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced given the quality and the first-rate service. We couldn't have been happier with the stay and I'll be recommending the hotel to all my friends.
Located within walking distance to the old city of Perugia, this hotel sits atop a hill with views of the Umbrian country side. Sina Brufani's location is top-notch for enjoying a day walking through the old city center. The hotel staff is gracious, helpful and unobtrusive. The building itself is a bit old, but the upkeep is good and in tune to maintaining a historic vibe. That being said, there are some things that are a bit outdated, such as giant room keys and old bathroom fixtures. The spa area is really interesting, located in the basement in what looks like an old cistern. It consists of a warm indoor pool, turkish steam room, sauna, showers, locker rooms and lounge chairs. Towels, water and tea are available in a self-serve mode, as there is no attendant in the area. We had gone to use the spa facilities on Sunday afternoon, only to find eveything was turned off, and we had to call the reception desk to have everything turned on (and of course it takes an hour or so for everything to heat up, so we had to wait). The next morning we called first to make sure everything was turned on before we ventured down to the the spa area. Breakfast in the dining room was adequate, but the eggs and bacon we a bit cold. Lots of other options, including breads, cereals, fruits and coffee to order. (We did not eat dinner in the restaurant during our stay, so I cannot comment on that). The hotel bar is great for a late afternoon or evening drink. There is a parking garage adjacent to the hotel and is 20 euro a day to have your car parked there. We had a very nice stay at the Sina Brufani and would definitely recommend it to family and friends looking to visit Perugia.
What a wonderful and unforgettable stay in this historical palazzo with its stunning high ceiling fresco in the breakfast lounge, contemporary designed bathrooms and spacious rooms! Plenty of fresh and tasty options served for breakfast. Hamid, at the reception has been an outstanding host, offering us a warm welcome and plenty of recommendations according to our taste. This was our first time in Perugia with my brother and now we dream of coming back! (in the warm season to enjoy the rooftop and a room with private jacuzzi on the balcony…)
We visited the hotel in mid-May. The weather was extremely wet. The room we were allocated was rather cramped and there was nowhere to dry our wet clothes and air our umbrellas. There was no wardrobe, just an open hanging area above the suitcase stand/chest of drawers. The safety deposit box wasn't secured to anyting so in my opinion was a waste. The bathroom was just adequate but the shower cubicle was very cramped. I'm not tall and definitely not overweight and I had great difficulty bending over in the shower to wash myself below the knees. It also took an absolute age for the hot water to find its' way to our room. I wasn't the only complainant about this. The space between the end of the bed and the wall was barely 750cm which I suppose is OK but the small TV was bolted to the wall here and I constantly knocked it as I passed by it. Very annoying. On the plus side the bed was very comfortable and had tea making facilities. There was a very large window with a beautiful cherry tree outside which broke up the view of the rooftops below. As we weren't in our room very much and only stayed a few nights it was more of an aggravation than a big deal. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. In a nutshell, a great little hotel that could do with a decent overhaul to get rid of its' problems and very very tired look.
