Heading here for work accommodation as a Nurse commuting to the area, I'd had to catch 4 trains and had lots of delays, a 45min walk from the train station lugging my pile of bags . I walked in the entrance of the Premier Inn and got the warmest welcome of all-time staff member Jacob had a massive genuine smile and right away asked about me, advised me and supported what I needed . Totally brilliant Chap should be a Manager great represention of the brand , I'd employ this guy every day of the week The hotel is newly built very smart. There is parking including disabled parking ehich near the entrance but its pay by the day. The entrance is well illuminated and very smart. As well as stairs there are lifts available. The rooms are large well represented. You do have to leave your door card in the socket to keep the lights on. Hair dryers are wired into the rooms with their own mirrors . Lots of hanging space and a large draw for storage Plenty of plugs all around the room with usb poets built in next to the bed. Windows are none opening so you can't get a nice breeze my only flat with the room. Showers are very powerful and hot but are the stand inside the bath rather than a shower cabinet Large TV but you can't get to the USB slot to add your fire stick or chrome cast etc . Kettle and a range of supplies tea bags coffee sachets are in each room. The hotel is perfectly placed for North Bay attractions with good views due to its elevated position on the top of the hill The ground floor has several vending machines which are well stocked I can't comment on the restaurant or food because its all closed at this time due to covid There are plenty of food delivery services in the area which deliver to the hotel and there is a Tesco Express with 3 mins walk. I would refer people to use this hotel and I would use it again myself.

Good value for money with the real plus points being the friendly staff and good food. The hotel has a small pool which is big enough to get some exercise in. The breakfast was good quality and the evening meal was of a good standard. It was a shame the restaurant wasn’t used more in the evening and I can’t help thinking that a two courses for £17 and three for £20 type daily offer wouldn’t see it used more and reward the effort the chef puts into the meals Overall a good stay and the hotel did what it said on the tin. We would book here again.

The Granby has changed hands during lockdown & some work has been done to spruce it up, there is ,however, no food or bar service available but there are plenty of alternative sources of food & drink not too far away.(Scarborough Arms pub just 2 minutes away, very good.) We found the Granby very comfortable with centrally heated rooms ,good beds & bathroom & large tv. Hotel is close to several bus routes ,within 15 minutes walk of main bus stops in town centre & 15 minutes walk to railway station also in town centre. We would definitely return to the Granby which offered free irons ,boards & hair driers to clients. Lovely staff by the way.

We arrived at the Royal Hotel to some parking issues however with assistance found somewhere. The hotel is in an ideal location with stunning views, it all felt promising. The entrance into the hotel was lovely, the chandeliers add some class, the staff are very accommodating and aim to please however the rooms present something quite different. I'm sad to say the cleanliness was an issue, the room smelt quite damp and although we appreciate we were given an upgrade I'm sad to say although bigger and maybe some what cleaner there was still hairs on the bathroom floor. I felt unsettled as cleanliness in COVID times offers reassurance. Sleep- sadly we did not sleep well, the entertainment was very close, loud and on till late. The bed was very uncomfortable. Breakfast- was ok, lots of choice, cold and hot menu and buffet style...we certainly left for our long drive home with a full tum ... Summary- cons...no parking at the hotel but can be found a little further afield, breakfast is ok. Entertainment can be noisy if situated next to it. Bed uncomfortable. Cleanliness- poor. Pros..Stunning views, ideal location, staff accomodating and very polite. Would we return It is fair to say in our experience we would not currently return however would be interested to return if/when the rooms are refurbished as I can imagine this was once a beautiful building...in our experience it was in need of some repair work and desperate for re decoration (we did notice that some work was taking place, hopefully that's a promising sign)

We booked to stay nearly two years ago at a premium price due to it being a concert in the town but due to covid was cancelled. We tried again to postpone it but customer services are slow to respond and we had to travel. The price in that day was 38 quid. Due to the original concert availability and profiteering we paid a 100.. we are still awaiting a response to see what they will say. The staff at the hotel have no ability to sort any booking problems. The room was awful. Not hoovered...it smelt musty. The decor was awful. The shower had mould in the tile grout and corners. Even though I tried my best with the flimsy curtain the floor of the toilet was flooded. The window was painted shut so it could not be opened to vent the moisture. The window was covered in seagull crap. You could see into all the rooms below. To add insult to injury although it had a 12 checkout time the maids were hoovering an adjacent room with the paper thin walls at 9am. I'm not sure what they hoover with as it clearly hadn't seen our room for a while. I have stayed in very nice hotels for what I paid for what I can only describe as a midden. Never again.

We are in our seventies. With a small wheelie cabin bag, it took thirty minutes to walk from the railway station. We had a warm welcome on arrival (thankyou Catherine). We stayed in room 14 with a sea view looking left towards the Castle and North Shore. (fifth floor no lift) Our room was beautifully furnished with ensuite bathroom (shower over bath). The cleanliness of the room met all our expectations. The comunual lounge was well furnished and maintained. When we are away we do like a good english breakfast. We were not disappointed....it was to die for!!! So much choice, and cooked to order. We would definitely stay here again. Thankyou Johnathon, Catherine, Helen and all the staff in the background that we did not get to meet.

Possibly my 4th visit to the grand now. The view is priceless and I doubt it can be matched in Scarborough. I booked via Booking.com this time and found it a lot easier to communicate with the hotel and they put me on the first floor as requested with a late check out so thank you for that. I really wanted a balcony this time but for some reason I thought the room might be bigger but unfortunately I was wrong. The word premier didn’t really match the room but again the balcony and view made up for that. I wasn’t impressed with the bathroom, very small, in need of tlc and no bath! But look you get what you pay for and I would never pay more than £80 for a sea view room. I was hoping for a bigger TV like they now have in some rooms but unfortunately it wasn’t and the remote did not work very well with the TV. The kettle didn’t work at all so I had to go downstairs and get a replacement. Hopefully one day I’ll work out which the best rooms are and I really hope that one day they at-least try and clean up the whole balcony area, it definitely deserves some love! I’m currently in the Royal now and they’ve upgraded me to a suite. I paid £63 for a sea view room so this is possibly going to be my new favourite hotel in Scarborough, but I’m sure I’ll visit the Grand again at some point.
