The hotel is located in front of a publiic square. There is a farmers market in the square this morning. We have the windows open and can hear the muffled sounds as they set up. It is a very pleasant activity to wake up to. The windows do a very good job of blocking all the noise from the cafes directly below. There are 4 or 5 cafes surrounding the hotel. Its a great location. We are steps away from delicious food, the old town and it's shops. The hotel was closed when we arrived, but we called and the receptionist came by and assisted us. She was pleasant & helpful. Once you check in you are given a code for the door. It is not always opened, which is why you call for assistance. Our room is on the 3rd floor and it is very basic, but also very comfortable. It was clean and met our needs for this quick trip to Vence. One of our bags went missing from our Norwegian flight, but the simple charm of the town & the hotel Victoire has lulled me out of a dark mood. The struggle is real people!

We have just returned yesterday from a trip to visit my sons girlfriends family. Yesterday evening I wrote a review on booking.com whom we booked with. Today I just had to write on Trip Advisor. If travelling to Vence, this is without doubt the place to stay. We received an email asking about our arrival time. We were politely informed that checking in was between 3pm and 8pm and outside these hours we would be told how to access our room. We were arriving early into Nice but going for a look around prior to checking in and then onto dinner with the family for 8pm. So we anticipated we would be there well before 8pm. However, we got caught in some unexpected traffic and started to panic. We contacted them to apologise and inform them we’d be approx 10/15mins late. We were greeted pleasantly on arrival and shown to our room without any fuss. I must admit, I fell in love with the place immediately I set foot inside. It is fabulous. They have an amazing eye for placing all sorts of pieces of art in just the right places. We loved our room. It was extremely spacious and overlooked the museum opposite. It was very quiet and we slept well. It had a large bedroom with a bed which was very comfortable, then a lounge area with lovely furniture and decor, this led to the bathroom area, double sinks and large shower. Next a small toilet room, outside of which was a small dressing area where you could hang your clothes on nice quality wooden hangers none of those horrible ones you hitch together. Here there was also a safe, torch, umbrella, and mosquito spray. I must admit I never even though about mosquitoes being in the south of France so take repellent with you! However, there is lovely air conditioning which at least eliminates them in the room. We had ours set very cold (much to the amusement of our hosts) as it was extremely hot in Vence. The facilities in the room are an equal match for any high end hotel you would find anywhere in the world. I could not think of anything that was missing, from slippers to tissues, mats for inside and outside the shower, selection of tea and coffee. I suppose if I were to complain it was there was no milk!! But I think that’s more a British thing and not a French thing!! We could have bought some and put in the little fridge if we wanted but it was not an issue for us, and they were so nice, I’m sure if we’d asked they would have given us a drop to put in fridge!! The breakfast was continental which we were expecting. It is quite simple, but beautifully presented. We had cereal, croissants, (warm, flaky, soft) a little bread board with a crusty on the outside, soft on the inside baguette, some preserves, a selection of cheeses, yogurt and a lovely bowl of fruit. Fresh orange juice, teas and coffees. We did not go hungry! It must be one of the nicest continental breakfast we’ve ever had, top quality, and certainly in one of the nicest dining rooms. We stayed for three nights and every day at breakfast, there was some

While this hotel will not suit everyone, it really suited us. No glitz, no glamour just comfort and relaxation. It is owned and run by a delightful family who could not have done more to make our stay a pleasure. There is an old world provencal charm about the hotel, from its white tabelcloths to its pistou soup. The food was delicious and our waiter Willie, was the nicest, most competent waiter you could wish for. Our room was not very large but very clean and very comfortable. There was a large bath as well as shower. The hotel is on a major road so there is traffic noise during the day but it is completely quiet at night. . Access to the centre of the exquisite medieval town of Vence is literally about 300 metres via a very steep road at the side of the hotel. Fine if you have a car. We preferred the alternative walk up through the olive terrace at the back of the hotel - about 15 minutes from room to our daily breakfast ritual at a gorgeous patisserie in the old town. The hotel does a basic French breakfast which is minimal compared with many other countries. There is a good sized very clean pool and our room had a small balcony with views south toward Nice. I don’t know if other rooms offered better views. Mas de Vence is a also pet-friendly hotel.

We stayed at Chateau St. Martin for four nights, sharing one of the villas with friends. Our villa was spacious, tastefully appointed, and immaculate. It is a short walk to the main building but the villas have butlers assigned to them who will drive you and do anything you need with a moment’s notice. Ours were exceptional. I am not given to superlatives, but this hotel deserves them. The setting and the facilities are beautiful. Fitness center was well equipped and open 24/7. Pool was lovely as were the garden areas, but I agree with those who say that it is the service that sets this place apart. Everyone we encountered seemed genuinely to want to help us to have as enjoyable a stay as possible. The management deserves credit for creating a staff that is friendly but consummately professional. Breakfast started each day on a high note. It is elegantly presented with an interesting array of choices. Every single thing was appealing, from the perfectly ripened fruit to the delectable pastries. Definitely a contender for the best hotel breakfast award, if there is such a thing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were very glad that we chose the St. Martin.

Stayed in a Duplex room - fine, comfortable bed, plenty of storage and 2 x TV. Bathroom and toilet were separate - all functional. It was old fashioned and had tiles like those seen in changing rooms, the small sofa was basic. Nice terrace. Outside was lovely, all eating areas around pool, plenty of sun beds. There was a Spa. The bar was really a storage area . Breakfast - plenty of choice - all meals outside. Evening meals not Sunday. Monday - good food, hotel guests only. Rest of the week the meals in the evening were ‘gastronomique’ with prices to match. We had one on the Tuesday and it was so bad we were refunded our cost. After that we walked into Vence or ate at lunchtime. One night we could not have a meal anyway as there was a large function taking place which also involved the pool and area being unavailable from the morning of the day until half way through the next morning. There was other seating areas but they were mainly in the shade so not useful for most. The event looked great fun. They also had a large christening party the day we arrived and a company meal on the lunch time of the day after the ‘event’, when we had tables and chairs moved around us while we were having breakfast. Lunches - mainly salads were good. Staff were very friendly and efficient but the owners need to decide if they are a restaurant with rooms or an hotel with an expensive restaurant. As a hotel guests I would have liked to have the option of a set menu at set prices every day.

I will be honest and straight in my review, as always. I selected this based on the pictures on the website and the apartment we had was in line with what I had seen. With 2 adults and 2 children (18-15), we had 1 ok living room (with large tv!), well equipped kitchen (but many who cooked in their apartment caused the fire alarm to go off), 1 bed room with 2 bunk beds (we did not use), 1 bed room with 2 single beds (for the children), attached to their bath room with toilet and large (powerful) shower and “master” bed room (with tv) attached to small bath room with small shower. All the rooms have good working a/c which is controlled from the living. We also had a very spacious and sunny terrace (we had the penthouse). Everything is new and clean. The windows can be blinded with electrical blinds so it is really dark inside. The free wifi is fast and strong signal. The park is new and looks beautiful and well maintained. So far the positive side of the story. The park is located next to a semi-busy road. In your apartment and especially at your terrace, you will hear the traffic day (and night). From your terrace you will see tour neighbors so no privacy. At the relatively small pool, people will put their towels (you need to bring your own towels for the pool!) already at 9am in the morning so there are no available sun beds anymore. There are around 100 apartments so the pool and the garden with the beds do not have enough capacity for the number of apartments. Especially during this covid19 situation, people were packed at and in the pool. We did not go there and staid at our terrace. When we arrived after a long journey at 4pm, our room was not ready (check in was at 3pm). We were told to wait another hour but at 5pm the room was still not ready yet. Only after 530pm we could get into our room! No compensation what so ever. Next problem is the parking. We booked indoor parking at €10 per day. However there are not enough parking places outside for all these people so they put their cars everywhere. Yes also in front of the exit of the indoor parking. We had multiple times that we could bot get in or out the parking. When we complained with the “manager” he did not have a solution. Also from this location you will need a car to go to Vence for a super market or restaurants. Or you need to like walking (supermarket is 2,5km away). St. Paul de Vence is close by (3,5km) and is a dream place. Beautiful! So my conclusion: this place had potential but is very badly managed. There are just too many guests for the capacity of cleaning, swimming, sun bathing and parking. If they are able to solve this (more staff, mire parking places, additional (baby/children) pool), I would upgrade my rating to 4-5 out of 5 stars. But not at the moment....
