Rochester
|6.01km from city centerHi. We have been to this hotel pre-pandemic and have given it great reviews. So we were very surprised to find what we did. When we arrived, we waited awhile to be greeted at the desk. Finally the employee working on paperwork at a nearby counter finally came over. Then there is the room. It was pretty awful. Grimy, damaged, stained, and just unpleasant. We had to wipe down the desk handles from the stickiness. We could not believe it. When asked if there were better rooms, the response was they are all the same. They did offer to move us, but what was the point. I never expect luxurious breakfasts at these places, but this one was unappetizing. They were out of items, items that should have been refrigerated, like cream cheese, were not, the pancake machine was out of operation and even the cover to the oatmeal was not connected and broken. I should note, the women working there were very pleasant.

|1.53km from city centerVery comfortable and very clean, this hotel was newly renovated in 2021
The facilities are complete, the sanitation is very clean, and the environment is very convenient in the city center. The only thing is that the breakfast is not self-service, you need to order it yourself downstairs

|8.45km from city centerI have stayed in several hotels in Henrietta over the past few months, son is a student out there. I am not a ”Everything has to be perfect” type of guy, but for the price, I would like certain things. When I checked in, they didn't have the person in front of me in their computer, so took quite a while to get him checked in. When I got there I asked if I could stay in a single. I was not sure if my son would be staying there or not, so I said I wanted a double (what I had reserved). The front desk person apparently was not told what rooms were clean, so she left, had to go upstairs somewhere to get a housekeeping list. By the time I got checked in there were 5 others behind me waiting to check in. I did get a choice of what floor I wanted. I choose the second floor. First thing I noticed was the smell. It is a ”non-smoking” hotel but apparently was not enforced. In fact, a previous person staying in my room had fixed a plastic bag over the smoke detector to keep it from going off. I didn't want to try to balance on the chair to try to take it off, so trusted the heat detector in the room to alert me if there was a fire. I was not going to be cooking in the room. Since there was no coffee maker, I wanted to heat up some water in the microwave for tea, I looked through the cabinets for mug, a pot, anything to use in the microwave or on the stove, there is nothing in the room. I stopped by the desk and asked for something to heat water in a microwave, like a mug. I was given a plastic cup, like the ones in the bathroom, not microwave safe. If you want to use the microwave or stove, bring your own dishes I guess, it says you can request dishes/ pots at the front desk, but didn't work for me. After I did get past the smoke smell (and opened up the window to let some fresh air in, they opened about 3 inches), I noticed the bed was small. I have a queen bed at home, this was not a queen. I also have a full, and pretty sure this was smaller than a full. Two people could fit, but would not be comfortable, unless you really, really wanted to cuddle together. I went out for a hockey game, got back about 10:30. From then until about 1:30 it sounded like someone above me was moving beds around. I couldn't tell exactly what time because the alarm clock display was broken. I am used to hotel room noise, not expecting quiet, this was really, really loud. I left the TV on to try to drown out some of the banging. I couldn't really watch it because it is a smaller 19 inch (about), set down on a lower table, so laying on the bed, you couldn't really see it, but I could at least listen. The light from the TV did help me to get across the room, there was only one plug by the bed (which you had to move the bed to get to), so if you wanted the alarm clock and a cell phone, you could not use the light. I was awake early, and got a shower. Got about 3 hours of sleep. Heard about the grab and go breakfast, so at least I could get a cup

Rochester
|0.61km from city centerThere was a feeling of cleanliness and it was a good hotel. The bed was nice. There was no bathtub, but it may be due to the grade of the room. As for breakfast, there was not salad, so vegetables were not taken very much, but American hotel may be such a thing. The gym was pretty good, but the weight equipment was a bit difficult to use. We did not use pool, but it was good to look at from the outside. I couldn't find a good restaurant around. Maybe there was, but I didn't ask the concierge, so I entered a nearby steak restaurant called Mortons. I was overcharged but it has nothing to do with the hotel. Overall it ’s pretty good.

Rochester
|4.14km from city centerThe Hilton Garden Inn is located within the Rochester University campus and only 5 minutes away from the wonderful and historic Mount Hope Cemetery. The hotel has a nicely decorated and welcoming lobby, with a restaurant on site that serves breakfast in the morning (my visit included the breakfast plan since I do not like going to look for breakfast in the morning). There were two comfortable double beds and a nice large bathroom in the room. Bed Linen and towels were clean and fluffy. The breakfast off the menu was good. I did not use the buffet but it did not appear to have a large variety. The hotel is a good jump off point to explore the Erie Canal, the fall colours of the Finger Lake District or just to walk along the Genesee River waterfront trail (which is lovely for walking and riding). So now for my issue with the housekeeping policy (not the housekeepers I would like to add). And yes, I am going to get political here! We were told upon arrival that because of Covid the rooms would be cleaned on the fifth day of stay or if we request it by calling before 8am the day we wanted to have the room cleaned. OK, policy understood! Some people can go for days without needing the room cleaned, I am not one of those people. One of the things I like most about staying in hotels is having daily housekeeping and arriving back in the room with the bed made and fresh towels if I leave them in the bath tub (which I do not do everyday). So twice we called, before 8 am to make the appointment. The phone rang for a long time, eventually we spoke to the front desk and the person took the room number and confirmed the request. Twice the room housekeepers never came and the room was never cleaned. What the hotel and the Hilton chain, as a whole, will not freely admit is that they have turned housekeeping into a ”gig” economy. The housekeepers are suppose to wait each day for a call. If they get a call, they work, if they not, no work. No work, no pay. So, to the surprise of no one, those mostly women of color were smart enough to get a regular and better paying job else, with guaranteed hours. That has left a smaller pool of available housekeepers. The hotel chain is making excessive profits on the backs of the lowest paying people in the hotel business. In addition, they do not tell you when you book that the room rate does not include housekeeping (so ask before booking), they do not amend the rates because they no longer clean the rooms. Same rates less service! There is simply something wrong with that business model that I cannot move on from as a traveler. In the future, I will be vetting the house keeping policy for all hotels before book.

|5.54km from city centerThis hotel is in an excellent location right next to the Rochester International Airport. It is easy to get to and from the airport in a matter of seconds. The front desk staff was very polite and accommodating. My flight left before breakfast was served so I cannot comment on that. The room was spacious and had all I needed.

Rochester
|0.55km from city centerAfter arriving at the airport, I called to ask for a pick-up. After about 40 minutes of calling, no one answered. The service staff at the hotel’s front desk and restaurant did not wear masks and were very upset. The air conditioner in the room was outdated, the sound was roaring, and the wind direction was directly facing the head of the bed.

Rochester
|5.56km from city centerVery speechless, usually less than 100 knives in the hotel, encountered the price of the American Golf final 160. I have lived in Quality inn before and I feel okay. I didn't expect the sheets and quilts in my room to have yellow stains. Then I will take a bath for one night without undressing and the next day. Unfortunately, the bathtub did not leave hot water for 10 minutes. Good wash basin wash face out. Then spit, go out and wait for Uber. The driver clicked the navigation and turned around 2 times and didn't find the hotel. Finally, the customer came to pick it up. He said that the navigation led to the back of the hotel. Fortunately, he found me with wisdom. Finally, it is worth mentioning that the front desk service is good, I saved my luggage, and I care that my Uber did not receive the cloud.
