We traveled to Florence as a family, group of 8, including my 88 year old grandmother. The property felt like a home away from home. The common areas, the rooms, the bathrooms were all spotless. The beds were very clean and comfortable. The grounds were beautiful as was the pool. There are 2-3 rooms on the ground level itself, and my grandmother stayed in one of those, so she didnt need to climb any stairs. There are a few steep steps to the pool though, but once you get there the view is lovely. The location is a 12-15 minute drive from the centre of town. All taxis knew the hotel so it was easy to get home. Because the town itself was so full of tourists, it was a relief to have this beautiful space to come back to. Secondly, the staff - we had a fantastic experience. It was my Dad's 60th birthday and the team prepared a special (and absolutely delicious) meal and ordered us the yummiest cake. They had champagne and candles set up at the dinner table. They went above and beyond. My grandmother was a bit unwell while we were there and the staff looked after her as if she was family. For the wine tour Lorenzo took us himself to a friends vineyard - what a fun the experience. We did not feel like tourists, but friends visiting friends. If you want to stay at a very beautiful boutique property and get a sense of real Italian culture and hospitality, then this is the place for you. Thank you Lorenzo and family, we hope to be back someday!

We spent one week at Alex in April 2018. As we made round trip through Tuscany (not only Florence but Pisa, Chianti, Barberino etc.) we decided to book Alex as our base station. The main reasons to book it with breakfast included were its position and parking availability. With some minor remarks, we would like to suggest upper pointed facility as even first choice for stay in Florence in case your primary target would be: exploring, exploring and exploring :). Here some short description which could help you to reach better overview about Hotel Alex. Position Position of Hotel Alex is just great: app. 3-4 minutes’ walk to train station Federiga and then only 10 minutes away from the Federiga to train station Santa Novella. Also bus stops in front of a hotel but we didn’t test this option. Tickets for trains are available on reception and they are very cheap. Hotel surrounding is safe and quiet especially if you could book room oriented not directly toward street but those with balcony. Room Room we had was basic, quiet and simple but very clean and charming. TV, bathroom with hair drier and enough towels changed regularly were available. Breakfast Was quite good for us. We started everyday breakfast “procedure” with masterpieces ristreto or cappuccino: both were super delicious. It is free of charge and the machine making coffee drinks is functioning just perfect. Also fresh fruit, milk, ham, cheese, butter, boiled eggs, pastry products, croissant, jam, yoghurts, cereals, juices were available. Breakfast area is small but nice& clean with personal so polite and very welcoming one. Service Hotel Alex team (reception desk, cleaning ladies, breakfast room etc.) were so polite, friendly, always ready to help. Well done guys and thank you very very much for good stay at your facility. Despite all above mentioned pros here also some minor remark. It is right that the park place is available and that is cheap too. But, unfortunately the same park place is used by restaurant guest from the restaurant close to. And just imagine, you are back after one day’s trip to Pisa and all park places are occupied. And on the next day the same situation???? It is not problem if you must wait 5,10 minutes to find the guest who is willing to relocate auto, but after 20-25 minutes it is somehow boring. Therefore, dear Alex team please try to take care about your guests already booked park places little bit more.

We stayed in September whilst it was still hot and sunny. We'd chosen this hotel as it has a large outside space with swimming pool whilst still being close to the centre of Florence (About 15 minutes by taxi). The hotel was very comfortable, beautiful art throughout the hotel with relaxing outside terraces to enjoy the views over countryside or the sunsets over the city at night. The hotel was quiet (As was Florence generally) so we had no problem with social distancing and felt very safe everywhere. The hotel was very clean, the excellent breakfast (in a lovely large room with beautiful views across the countryside) was served to us at our table by the efficient and friendly staff. We went into Florence in the afternoons and stayed to eat so we can't comment on the restaurant at the hotel. Some reviews talk about walking into city - the road is not all pavement and it is very steep down to the city so we never tried! Only small negative was the lack of spare plug sockets in the bedroom to charge phone etc. (Ideally ones near to bed). Another problem that the hotel can do nothing about is the variable charges the Italian taxi drivers made to and from the hotel to the city centre but this is something we have experienced as well in Italy e.g. Rome. Just be aware of what you should be charged as a reasonable cost. Overall a lovely stay for our family in a beautiful hotel in beautiful countryside with view of the city - a perfect mini break for all of us.

Beautifully located on a hill next to Florence. With little apartments located on the olive- and grape gardens, and a cute little restaurant on the property this is the perfect getaway for some time in Tuscany. In the morning, the (very nice) breakfast is served in the garden of the property, close to the main villa and the reception. Don't expect any high fancy, modern things. It's an old property that makes it own wine and olive-oil, it's all quite traditional Italian/Tuscan. It's an agri-turism, which basically means you're staying on the 'farm' that still produces, but also has apartments/rooms. Some things can come across as 'old', but we really liked the very traditional feel of the place. That said, the modern parts of it: the WiFi worked very well, basically all over the 'main areas' and in our apartment. The swimming pool is nice and clean. Our apartment was equipped with an air-conditioning, and a sunshade (one of those on the outside of the windows). It is somewhat far from the Florence centre, but there is a bus, and with car it is super easy! Big thanks to Francesco and Enrico, part of the Il Milione staff. They were extremely friendly and helpful, questions on how to get to town and back, and provided some things against mosquitos (like a citronella-candle for outside on the table, and a device for in the apartment).

La Fattoressa is in Galluzzo, 300 metres from the Carthusian Monastery and 5 km from central Florence. It offers a peaceful garden and a seasonal swimming pool. Breakfast is a varied buffet. All air conditioned, rooms are elegant and rustic with terracotta floors and wood-beamed ceilings. They all come with satellite TV, a fridge and a private bathroom. All offer views of the green surroundings and direct access to the garden. The farmhouse provides free parking and a free Wi-Fi area. It is at the end of an unpaved road just off Via Volterrana, 5 minutes' drive from the Firenze-Certosa exit of the A1 Motorway. Florence can be reached by bus in about 15 minutes.

Fantastic in every way. We came for a four night city break and was not disappointed. The location is excellent (15 min walk to the Ponte Vecchio) but just outside the craziness of the centre. With only 8 rooms it’s quiet and relaxing. The views are lovely overlooking the hills and the city itself. The villa itself is stunning, keeps its original charm but still has all the modern amenities you need. The staff are always on hand and a great at recommending things to do and fantastic restaurants to eat at. They booked for us each night and each time it was great. If you want a place in Florence you won’t be disappointed if you go here!

Villa Il Mosaico is a great place to stay, specially if you are going for several days to Florence. It is not located in the city center, but you can be there in less than 10 minutes using the city tram. It does not have concierge services, but you don't need it. All important information about how to access and use your room is sent to you the days prior to your arrival. We've stayed in the studio, which was very spacious and comfortable. It had a well equipped kitchen, so we save tons by buying stuff from a nearby grocery store and preparing fresh quick meals. We splurged at dinner time! It was clean and had extra pillows, blankets and bathroom supplies. And I guess the owners took notice from previous reviews, since we found stuff for cleaning the dishes, even an espresso maker! After travelling in different European cities, we found that this place was a good value for our money.

Traveled to Florence as part of our first tour of Tuscany. We found Riva Lofts website by chance, booking our accommodation went smoothly. We drove to Riva Lofts, it was easy to find, unfortunately all parking spaces were taken. We found a space just across the street, otherwise there are other options nearby. As soon as you open the main gate you will be amazed with the beauty of Riva Lofts! We were very lucky to be upgraded to a Deluxe room but we were not expecting such gorgeous room! We opened the door to our room an went upstairs to find the most beautiful room! Spacious, high ceilings, beautiful design, gorgeous interior design, charming terrace, every little detail is delightful. Laura (best concierge) was in touch with us since we booked, always replied to our emails answering all our queries. All staff were always welcoming, friendly and professional. Breakfast had an extra cost, please go for it! It is simply delicious and you get much more of what you expect. The hotel is not in central Florence, but you can use one of their bikes or take a tram. We opted to cycle and within 10 minutes we were at Ponte Vecchio. The garden and communal areas are beautiful, the swimming pool is clean; there are hammocks and sunbeds to relax in the garden. It is also worth to mention that with the current COVID situation you can see how all staff has been trained and are well prepared to deal with every detail. 100% recommend you to stay at Riva Lofts, you will not regret it!

I stayed at Hotel Firenze 2000 while visiting Florence during college, back when it was still a hostel. I really enjoyed my stay then, and I enjoyed my second stay with them this summer. I arrived to Florence in mid-July and was staying at an apartment near the Duomo that was just not for me (too hot with no AC, and way too touristy). So I decided to return to HF2000, and was not disappointed. The staff was as friendly and helpful as I remembered and the accommodations were even better since the ‘upgrade’ to a hotel. The hotel is ‘off the beaten’ path, which means it’s nice and tranquil, but still easy to access the city center on foot or by bus. It’s very close to some wonderful neighborhoods that are a bit more local and have fantastic restaurants. The hotel still has some vestiges of its hostel days like laundry available on site (!), which was great for me since I was staying for 3 weeks. The bar and outdoor courtyard are also very nice to have and the breakfast is nice. Good continental offerings—typically a pastry fruits cereal, yogurt etc. And of course coffees. The rooms are plain and simple (if you need a 5 start hotel when you are on vacation it would not be the right fit for you) but they are very comfortable and they keep everything very clean. They also have lovely memory foam pillows, which is an amazing find in Italy—often the pillows are hard and flat at hotels here. I would recommend without hesitation, particularly because of the wonderful staff.

Stayed here in Oct 2017. Travel Agent booked after highly recommending to us.I sure didn’t like it. As hotels don’t have AC, we had the windows open. Temp was comfortable, but windows opened in, making a cramped space tinier. Bumped/ my head several times on open window at night. Shower was mediocre. When I needed more wire hangers on check in night...night manager took me up four flights...but no hangers in storage room. Location was ok, but not great. At night, we were treated to a street show...from Italian couples who were arguing and fighting in street. Buffet breakfast was highlight of stay. I’ll pass on this hotel if I ever return to Florence.

I stayed in this hotel with my friend for two nights, in a twin room with breakfast included. The first point in favor is definitely on the position. It is located a few steps (5 mins walk) from the tram station which takes you to the heart of Florence in 20 minutes. The staff is very kind and very attentive to the customer's needs. Especially in this delicate moment due to the pandemic, the staff observed all the anticovid rules by wearing a mask and serving breakfast at the tables. Another plus is the cleanliness of the structure and rooms. My room had all the comforts, very clean and above all everything in perfect condition. I will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

We stayed in Florence for three nights and chose this hotel on the back of Trip Advisor comments. We were not disappointed. The hotel is based in an excellent location about 10-15 mins walk from the centre of Florence but also in a quiet and peaceful road. We had one of the three rooms which had a balcony overlooking the hotel. Our room was superbly decorated with all facilities. There was also a nice introductory offer of a meal with complimentary bottle of wine for 39euro per night which was excellent value and a high quality. Breakfast was also excellent. The Staff were very courteous and professional without being over the top. This is little gem of a hotel and very well lit at night which maximises its attractiveness. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Florence and represents excellent value. My only minor quibble is the old 1970's type carpet in the corridors - I think its time for them to be replaced! I saw no other hotels in Florence which I passed which would make me change my mind and would happily stay here again.

Plaza Lucchesi Hotel truly is a 4.5 star hotel. It is located in a great location within walking distance (10-15 minutes) to the city center, facing the river Arno. It’s a beautiful hotel close to everything, yet not in a crowded part of the city but “surrounded” by plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from. I stayed at room 208 which is a spacious, comfortable superior double room with a big window directly facing the Arno with magnificent river views. Bathroom was also spacious but it had a not so comfortable tab. I would prefer a shower instead. The only problem was my internet connection which was frequently interrupted and my mobile signal which was no good. I also took a look at single rooms, since some friends stayed there, and they were nice, clean and beautiful. The best part of this Hotel is the absolutely beautiful view from the rooftop pool bar, overlooking Florence, especially on sunset. If you go there, up the 5th floor, you can see the entire uninterrupted panorama of Florence. The Staff was really friendly, professional, helpful and welcoming and they all spoke good English. We felt welcomed right away. From the reception desk, to the cleaning ladies and the personnel at breakfast, they are all so kind and attentive that made us feel at home. Breakfast was excellent with lots of options, a good selection of everything and something different each day so you wouldn’t get tired of the same food. I loved the croissants although I admit I expected fresh made pancakes and omelets! The concierge was very helpful and corresponded to our needs. Generally we had a wonderful customer experience and we would definitely stay there again.

Carefully write a review of the Four Seasons Hotel in Florence, three nights in Florence, 2 nights PORTRAIT, 1 night to experience the seasons, give the following suggestions: 1) Service: Say service first, personal feeling, PORTRAIT service is more cordial and enthusiastic. There is WELCOME DRINK at the door, with beer and red wine and other drinks. There is a doorman from Russia who is very enthusiastic and can really describe himself as a guest. If you leave, you will also ask if you want to bring bottled water. Four seasons, no one can say bad, but it is very standard and professional, but there is no temperature. PORTRAIT won. 2) Location: The four seasons are far from the attractions, but not far away. The distance cannot be said to be a weak item. The hotel has a garden, but it is not very big, but it is okay (refer to the size of Shanghai Garden Hotel). Moreover, mainly, the garden layout is not very special. PORTRAIT is on the edge of the old bridge, the most central location, everything is convenient. PORTRAIT won. 3) Price: Four seasons more than 7900 35M2, no early; PORTRAIT 4500 one night / 4900 one night, 40M2, but the hotel gave me a rise, lived 53 room type, including 2 early. PORTRAIT won again. 4) Room decoration: the room, the four seasons are European style, or the law-abiding; PORTRAIT is more modern, also comes with a simple kitchen cabinet, you can eat yourself. Personally, the style is like PORTRAIT. 2 bedding products are good. 5) Four seasons, because the price is much more expensive, my heart naturally demands him. Service I scored 4 points because it was not special and the price was not good. The Michelin-starred PALAGIO restaurant has also tried, and can only say that it is okay, not surprising, and quite satisfactory. 6) Four seasons should be expensive in many additions? For example, I saw that there is still a hairdressing. It is estimated that the SPA is also very good, but it is not used. In addition, there are swimming pools in the four seasons, but it is not big or open. PORTRAIT does not have a swimming pool. The above hopes have a reference to later people.

We were really looking forward to our stay in the Palazzo Castri, but ended up being very disappointed. We had a Junior Suite and it was rather small. The bathroom was right next to the sleeping area and had glass on the doors, Thus, if someone got up to use the bathroom at night and turned on the lights, it would wake up the other person. In addition, the noise coming from the heating/air system was very loud. Even with ear plugs we could hear it (my wife's parents had room next to us for 1 night and it kept them up all night). We could also hear noise from rooms all around us. They did move us our room after the first night and it got a little better. We called to order extra pillows and had to call 3x (each time). The breakfast was ok. The breads were rather stale. The evening tea was also disappointing. They would run out of desserts and it would take a while to restock the trays. On the positive side, the hotel garden is beautiful. After our room was moved we had a beautiful view of the Duomo. The manager went out of her way to help us and she was very nice. The problems with the rooms etc are out of her control. The hotel is just not built very well. The location of the hotel is a short walk from the train station and very central to everything in Florence. Overall, very disappointed in our experience. Probably would look for another hotel in Florence.
