My wife and I are currently staying at our apartment in Bydgoszcz. We normally eat out at Wernda, Meluzyna and Villa Calvados, but for Valantine's day I wanted to treat my wife to pampering. Hotel Sloneczyn Melyn came up on Google with spa treatment packages and my wife and I spent this morning in their spa followed by a meal in the restaurant. I have to say both the spa and dining experiences were absolutely fabulous. I cannot understand why this hotel is not listed with the other restaurants for fine dining. It is matches up in all respects withe the other three. We look forward to returning to both this spa and restaurant when we next return to our apartment in Bydgoszcz in the coming months, just as we look forward to eating in the other three restaurants. Bydgoszcz is very fortunate in having four such excellent fine dining restaurants.

A clean and basic hotel with reasonable prices. The service looked like a little bit surprised of our staying. The room and bed were comfortable. There was a nice choice of breakfast, both hot (scrambled eggs, sausage, beans in tomato sauce) and cold (cereals, milk/yogurth, ham & cheese, vegetables, fruits, as well as choice of coffee/tea and juices. The hotel is just next to the PKS Bydgoszcz bus station, so it is very convenient if you wanna travel with the bus. Next to the station there are also tram and bus stops, so it is quite easy to reach other parts of the city.

Only stopped here as the company booked it, and there was a big NATO conference going on in town so everywhere else was full, so it was either this miles from anywhere or the flea infested Campanile. Where do I start…………….Reception….? Female staff- aggressive, impatient, impolite, unhelpful except if your Polish of course, in need of customer service training, male staff can’t do enough to help and their English is better. Tried to avoid all interaction with reception staff, ill-mannered and ignorant. Could not even give you a receipt when checking out, ordered a taxi for 10.15, it arrives at 9.15 as they don't listen and I spoke very sllllloooowwwwllllyyy. Restaurant, good selection menu, but once again female staff seem as if they don’t want to be there, male staff once again can’t do enough and a good conversation and laugh when talking. Breakfast typical continental, and limited in its variety, gets very boring after a couple of days. Maid service in rooms? A JOKE, Well one day its no towels, so you leave the towels you had originally for a couple of days on the bin, the same day the bin does not get emptied, some days no towels or toilet paper other days you can’t move for them, you have free sparkling or still water, so you drink the sparkling and then they give you another still? Some days the bed is made others its not, sheets changed during stay, can’t really say and don’t want to think about it, hovered room….guess not either. Don’t leave the aftershave out either that seems to go down quickly too. Try to give hints like leave the bin in the middle of the floor, Towels as instructed on the floor come in to find them hung up?? No post room clean Quality check obviously no check list, Memory retention of Goldfish springs to mind. Walls of room, ceiling and floor made of tissue paper so you can hear the arguments and other things from two rooms away, no springs on doors so the morons who do not know how to work a door properly have to slam the doors at all hours ‘to make sure they are shut’. Avoid at all costs, will never stay again would pay the extra myself just to avoid staying here. Worst Hotel in Bydgoszcz.

A very small 2-storey hotel. First floor has dining, bar, and a function/event room. Second floor are the hotel rooms. Rooms have no aircon, but fortunately weather in May is low 20s Celsius in day and below 10 at night - open the window and get fresh air. But insects like spider may spin a web at the window Stayed in room 107 - particularly large with sofa and bathroom has Jacuzzi. Breakfast spread is limited, some cold ham and cheese slices. But they can make boiled sausages and scrambled eggs. Location is about 30 min walk from old town.

I've stayed in a lot of places over the years, but this was good enough to make me write my first review. Overall- staff were brilliant, hotel full of character, location very good. Location- very good. A 5-10 minute stroll to the old quarter. Room and hotel- excellent. Perfectly clean, well designed and beautifully decorated. The styling and decorating of the hotel was a real highlight. Beautifully elegant and an absolute pleasure to walk around. Lots of character. Restaurant- breakfast was very good. A good selection of local and generic (eg eggs) food. Very pleasant to sit in. I didn't have dinner there, but looked at the menu and looked very good (fine dining, but at very reasonable prices). Staff- perfect. Without a doubt this was the highlight of my stay. The staff were ever so helpful, and genuinely friendly. Summary- I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Bydgoszcz. I don't have anything bad to say about it.

I stayed at room 410 in July 2019. This room is a kind of suite with a large, but maybe not so very practical, living room. If you want to get a feeling of how the atmosphere in a luxury hotel around 1900 was, Pod Orlem is the place to stay. 10 minutes walk to the nice market square, where there are a lot of restaurants and cafes. 20-25 minutes easy walk to the railway station. The hotel will be renovated from the fall of 2019 and for a couple of years. Yes, modernisation is needed, but it is important that Pod Orlem keeps its “Fin de siècle” atmosphere, which makes it so special and charming. Bydgoszcz (Bromberg) is an attractive city by the way

If you book and prepay in Ctrip, Ctrip's confirmation form says please feel free to stay. The dust rushed to the hotel, saying that the hotel was full, and arranged a similar hotel for us. After checking in, I found that the grade was very far. For the first time in decades, I encountered a situation of being hacked.

Ok, the apartment was nice. It was a studio though, not what we’d call an apartment. There is no door between bedroom and living room, and the bathroom door is glass (so no privacy). More annoying: no fridge. It’s the first time I have ever seen anything calling itself an apartment and yet have no fridge. That’s just not ok! Especially as trip advisor here says “all our apartments have fridge”. Comms were fine before the stay, and the location was great. Do not bother with taxis - bus 80 is very frequent - take it to Rondo Jagiellonow, change to any tram going towards old town - it’s one stop. There’s a 7-eleven (polish version) at the stop, and the street of the flat is just there, it’s a 3 minute walk. You can buy public transport tickets on machines across town, but the airport bus driver sells as well (it’s 3PLN for the ride across zones, or 60p. Why pay more? The apartment is less than 10 min walk to wild town, with the river and the boat rides, mill island and the tightrope Walker. Don’t miss the cathedral, it’s very pretty inside. As the location is great for trans, don’t forget to use the trams down Gdanska street to visit the archer, the dancing fountain, the basilica and various museums.

Basic equipment, large and clean room, but don't expect too much comfort. Great location at the Mill's Island though, close to the Old town and easy to get to from the train station or the bus station, both by tram. On the downside, terribly small shower and only Polish TV channels. Recommendable, but don't have too high expectations.

The location of the hotel is still very good, opposite is a very large shopping mall, go out to the right for five minutes to go to the square. We are driving by car, parking has encountered a big problem, this hotel is surrounded by a single line, Google maps are already not good, I spent more than 20 minutes in the hotel week, sometimes you see the hotel It is because there is a single line that you can't stop the car, and the parking time has delayed too much time. After arriving at the hotel, the hotel specialization was very young. At the time of check-in, the staff members came to the sofa where we were sitting in front of the sofa with our mobile devices. This is still very user-friendly and does not need to wait at the front desk for so long.

The room has been electronically realized, the lighting is soft, and it is extinguished by people's actions. long weekend, greeted by lovely staff, speaking good english pointed out local restaurants which we tried during our stay and were not disappointed. Highly recommend Sasiedzi (meaning neighbour) lovely atmosphere here food and service was excellent only a short walk from the hotel. Organised trips to the salt mines, Auscwitz and Birkenau. I would definitely top up your history knowledge before doing these tours, they are fascinating and a must for everyone.Hotel made us a packed lunch small cost for Auscwitz/Birkenau as a day trip with very limited refreshments available. We were very glad we did, take change for the toilets will need to pay. We were picked up from the hotel by a small mini bus.We did the underground museum and visited the castle to which the attractions inside are all payable dependant on what you want to see. Don't loose your ticket as you will need to scan this for the toilet or you will have to pay 2zl. Our room was very comfortable and tidied every day, i presume different staff at weekend? as not quite so pristine if I'm being picky. Breakfast was lovely with a mixture of cooked food, bread, fruit etcThe restaurant was really nice, no complaints and really nice to sit and have a drink during happy hour We had a superior double room no view tho it was just a side street.
