It was my first visit. It's a charm to feel history. It's a pity that the roof was under repair. . . It was Sunday, but there were quite a few customers when checking in. You can see that it is a popular inn. The response of the attendant who guided me first at the entrance was a little bit, but it was never office or cold. The room was a mezzone type and was wide 々 and the cleaning was neat. Very personal taste, but I was happy that the hot water pot installed in the room was Russell Hobbs. One of the multiple hot springs was not put in, but the public bath and the open-air bath were gentle and wonderful. The bathtub separated from the three hot water temperatures was also good. However, it is difficult to suddenly get up and down the temperature of the shower in the washroom. Even though I had hot water at the right temperature, it suddenly became cold water. . . The meal was very delicious for dinner and breakfast. The amount was just good and the response of the attendant was pleasant. During training? The foreign staff was polite and nice. My husband also said that the hot spring and the meal were great and wanted to visit again. Thank you for your care.

What I liked was that there was a nice seating areas inside for guests waiting for three out-door private baths and you can see which of these are available while waiting inside. It was very kind of them to do it. They have a beautiful Japanese style garden, and drinking free coffee and tea at the garden seating after the long hot spring (onsen) was the heavenly retreat. They even had free yogurt drink and ice cream at the bath area. Of course with water dispenser. We eat meals at the eating areas, but each group has a private room. Staff are also friendly to children. Only shortfall was that one of the outdoor baths in a public one was out of order, and water in a private bath was not hot enough, so felt like we catch a cold.

温泉は熱いが泉質は良く滞在中ほぼいつでも入れます。 部屋の設備については、大きなガスヒーターと空気清浄機が整備されパワーも強力でよかった。室内の清掃もきちんとされていました。 食事は食堂風の狭い場所のためゆっくりできる感じではありません。お品書きもなく高級感はありませんが美味しい方だと思います。 少し坂を登った所にある中屋饅頭でのお土産購入がおすすめです。きび大福が珍しい上に美味しい。温泉饅頭も美味しいです。 なお、宿で無料の札を借りられる隣りの共同浴場はお薦めしません。受付のおばあちゃんの接遇態度があまりにも酷いからです。公共浴場を自分の家のお風呂と勘違いしてるようです。時間前に並んだ所怒鳴られました。 隣の龍鳴館やまるほん旅館に泊まるか日帰り入浴できたら泉質も同等だしゆったり入れます。何よりこの老婆に遭遇する危険性もないし地元民に気を遣い小さくなって入浴する必要もありません。

I stayed with my family twice in January 2022, after the New Year and in late January. Both rooms were on the 7th floor. The first time was a corner room, and if you looked down from the veranda, you could see the flow of the Shima River. The second time was not a corner room, but a family of three could relax in a Japanese-style room of 10 and a half tatami mats. Both arrived earlier than the check-in time, but the check-in was smooth, and the explanation from the front desk staff was polite, and it was easy to understand with memos such as meal time and bath time. Thanks to that, I was able to enjoy the open-air bath early. The open-air bath had shampoo conditioner, body soap, and soap. A razor, aftershave lotion, hair tonic, hair liquid, comb, cotton swabs, and tissues are provided at the open-air bath washbasin. It seems that there was also a cleansing for women. There was a place where you can drink the hot springs on the first floor. A paper cup is provided. Two elevators. One was the observation elevator. There were heaters and rubbing alcohol throughout the ryokan. Wifi was available everywhere in the room and inside the hotel, so I didn't have any problems during my stay. It was fast enough. By the way, the price of juice etc. in the vending machine in the inn was the same as the price outside. I was impressed that there was also a vending machine for cup noodles. Tea and sweets were placed in the room, and there was hot water in the electric kettle and cold water in the refrigerator. The tea was Japanese tea and hojicha, and there were many teapot packs. For dinner, we had a meal in a large hall, but each table was far away, and we were given a bag to put away the mask during the meal. You can enjoy your meal slowly. I was satisfied with the quantity and taste. The catering staff was moving very quickly and it felt good. After dinner, there was a picture-story show by the proprietress. It was about 15 minutes, but seeing the proprietress's heartfelt picture-story show made me feel very nostalgic. There was also an explanation of Shima Onsen. When my son saw the picture-story show for the first time, he became a fan of the proprietress. The second time, after the picture-story show, my son was very happy to have a two-shot with the proprietress. When you return to your room after dinner, the futons are spread out and you can sleep right away. My bed is always my home, so the futon in the Japanese-style room is somewhat fresh. The open-air bath was open to men and women at different times, but it was spacious and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Even after 5:00 in the morning, I went to the open-air bath in the dark and woke up perfectly. Breakfast was also very good. Check-out is at 11:00, so buy souvenirs at the shop before that. If you pay by credit card, it will be smoother if you ask them to charge the room before checking out. When I left the entrance, the staff took out my shoes, everyone greeted me in a loud voice, and I was able to leave comfortably. On the way back, when I took a family photo in front of the entrance, the staff came immediately and took it for me. Shima Onsen wasn't a big tourist spot, but it was a very good place to go to the hot springs with your family.

When I read the reviews here, there were quite a few voices saying ”day trip is enough” as the opinion of the person who stayed, so I tried it on a day trip first. In conclusion, ”day trip” is enough. ” I haven't stayed overnight, so I don't know if it's food ... Below is detailed information on day trip use. [Genroku no Yu] Only ”Genroku no Yu” can be used for day trips. It is a famous bath called Sekizenkan, so I think it would be good to put it here. There was a comment that the word of mouth here was terrible and moldy, but it seems that it has been repaired beautifully recently. The tiles were not peeled off and the walls and ceilings were repainted. It seems that the prototype of important cultural properties has been kept firmly and has been renewed cleanly. [Spring quality] Colorless and transparent, it is of good quality with flowing directly from the source. The temperature is the right temperature. [Shower ＆ Karan] As rumored, there is only one place. Shampoo and body soap are placed there. [Sauna] You may not notice that you are the first person, but there is an arch-shaped small sliding door on the wall of the back left of the bathroom (← In the case of a women's bath ... As mentioned in the reviews here, 1500 yen (cheap inn towel ＆ toothbrush) for only one ”Genroku no Yu” is certainly expensive. Well, let's think that we donated 1000 yen to protect ”national important cultural properties”. By the way, aside from inn towels, it is a mystery that toothbrushes come with them. Do you need it? is. It's cheaper. I don't like to be a luggage, so I brushed my teeth and threw them away (laughs). By the way, towels are new towels of ordinary inn towels, so it's a little to wipe off the water. If you want to wipe it firmly, you should use a bath towel (paid) or bring a water-absorbing towel. [Souvenir information] I heard that ”Kaedetsukido” is the most delicious hot spring buns, so I bought them here. The shop is about a 3-minute walk from Sekizenkan. You can choose grain bean paste and koshian for bean paste. It was certainly delicious. [Is it a day trip? Accommodation? ] I was fully satisfied with the day trip. I think it's okay to stay in a room with a high grade, but whether it's worth the price ... I'm really worried about the information that the reasonable room smells moldy.
