With the complex spaghetti roads, roundabouts and construction we spent half an hour going around in circles trying to find them. We did find the Holiday Inn first and they gave us directions that almost worked. Let's start with the fine print. The hotel isn't in Monza, but in the dreary town next to it. Much of it seems industrial, warehouses and potentially polluting businesses you wouldn't want to live next to..The hotel sits next to a heavy traffic artery with plenty of truck traffic heading somewhere else. It is not a lot more attractive than much of the Bronx. Outside, the hotel looks forlorn. Inside it isn't quite as ugly with a vague atrium feel with plenty of glass and stone.. There is a large parking area behind the front, which is welcome but usually filled with seminar/convention traffic. Best Westerns are independently owned and not cookie cutter. We have always found personnel associated with the brand to be kind and helpful, and that was the case here. The hotel is very clean and our room was spacious, modern and comfortable although decorated in dormitory/institutional beige and brown. You could wake up and have no idea where you were, except for the parking lot behind. After the stressful drive, we decided to have dinner at the hotel, and it was adequate if not inspiring. Two breakfasts were decidedly more mediocre. I am depressed at how many nominally 4 star hotels use industrial grade orange juice, mediocre brand yogurts and pastries and especially weak and second rate coffee. That is inexcusable in a country that has some of the best brands in the world. Don't they know that Nescafe is awful!!! We took a cab into town to see some sights. Beware, you will probably get ripped off. The taxi meter was at 14.5 Euros when we got in; 25 Euros in the heart of the city. Perhaps it is legal for the cab to turn on the meter when they get the call. but that isn't entirely reasonable. Monza has some extraordinary ancient buildings and historical sites, and lots of ugly modern ones. On the way into town and back, we saw several miles of scruffy apartments and dozens of grassy spaces that hadn't been mowed. Of course, that isn't the hotel's fault, but why stay out there iuless you are conferencing? Candidly, I can't think of any reason to come back.

We came as a family. From check in it went down hill. The rooms we were given was in use and very dirty. Nothing seemed to work in the other rooms. Breakfast was a disgrace. Flys everywhere in the dinning hall. I was aggressively abused by a member of staff on leaving. He then called another resident to come join in. They were accusing me of slamming doors even though at the time we were not at the hotel. I was told comments about people like me being disgusting, even though I hadn’t done anything. It was 3 men against a female and children. Very racist and uncomfortable feel. He said he is taking money out of my account and tried to call police on us for spilling a drink, I really believe they tried to scam me. We ended up missing our flight as he wouldn’t let our taxi driver leave. We’ve had no apologies. Love holiday are also not taking it as a priority. I would t recommend here to anyone, especially people of colour

I booked and paid for standard bed however once I was there I was informed they are full to capacity and only twins beds were available. My trip was for 5 nights and the they would only be able to offer me a standard bed the last night of my stay. I was also told that I'm staying longer than the normal as their minimum patrons stays between 2-3 nights and my stay is longer. The food is also not desirable. I was disappointed by that being in Italy and not having a capable chef. The person working was overwhelm as the was the only one and there were many people to attend to. The location was not ideal as it was right next to an abandon building and walking to get the bus was dark and creepy. Because it was my first time in Milan I was expecting more but next time I'll choose another hotel closer to the town. We stayed my companion in this stuffed room for two nights in row, as I said in the title. The rental room is 150 m from the station of Monza, so a very strategic place to visit Milan in peace without the car park and traffic. The environment inside is very clean and modern in a beautiful gentleman's palace so surely to return if you want to jump to Milan or visit Monza.

The hotel’s price/performance ratio is relatively high, which is not a choice for travelers who enjoy the hotel. The room smells of an old house, not a bad smell. Passengers who are not sensitive to taste can ignore it. The location of the hotel itself is okay, there is no close commercial area, but the city is very small and it is easy to reach the commercial area. In addition, when you take a taxi or drive to find a hotel, drive slowly, it is not particularly obvious that you can find it.

This was a treat for myself, husband and mother a revisit after 20 years however it was an underwhelming stay unfortunately. The room we had a deluxe double was blah, no usable mirror in bedroom which was a pain, not sure about why that would be in a 4 star hotel. There is no tea or coffee in the room and I did message the hotel in Italian to double check on this and was told I could buy a coffee, however the room next to us had a tray with a kettle and tea for the room so this obviously was an option for some guests! Service at breakfast which costs 35 Euros was poor, children running around unattended, people smoking and the first day no indoor table for us, totally obnoxious with wasps, flies and smokers. The food provided was barely acceptable by today’s standards and the hot breakfast was cold every day. Really not good enough again for a luxury hotel. One evening we decided to have a nightcap this was an exercise in frustration, no service my husband had to go and ask for a menu then no one came to take an order so he had to go inside again to find a waiter. Everyone around us had nibbles with their drinks but yet again not served for us, our Italian friends could not believe our issues with this hotel as it is well known for hosting the formula one. The hotel actually lost out on business as we were planning on eating at the hotel for dinners but changed our plans and took our money into town where it would be appreciated instead. Maybe it’s foreigners they don’t like but my husband speaks perfect Italian so we have never experienced this in the past. I would not stay here again myself and would not recommend it which is a shame as 20 years ago this was a beautiful experience for all of us and my children.

Perfect location in the city centre, with lots of restaurants near by. Although the location is near coffee shops and restaurants it's not noisy so much. Very clean and tidy. Our host was very polite and helpful and generally all the people there did their best to make our stay as pleasant as possible. I would like a shower gel instead of a regular soap although but it's a minor detail. Positive experience overall and I would book again if I visited Monza.
